BIG BIG ZEN V PLUS PROBL

My 90-day warranty is expired so i cannot have my mp3 fixed. So that means that i hope anyone who reads this can HELP ME!?Yesterday, after re-setting my player twice because it froze while in music playback, it froze again while rebuilding the library. I was going to follow the instructions of going into recovery mode and then to format and reboot the player, EXCEPT THAT THE PLAYER DOESNT EVEN TURN ON (is this because re-setting it about 5 times in a couple of minutes will completely deplete the battery?)?Okay so then i followed the instructions of recharging the battery. I left it charging OVERNIGHT and it still didnt work. When it was plugged into a power source all it would show was a forever glowing blue light behind the buttons. I've tried resetting again while charging (some say this may work) and since its got no power, i cannot go into recovery mode and reload firmware or format anything!?When i try turning it on, the blue lights behind the buttons flicker as though it's trying to turn on but some hardware problem is preventing that from happening!?Honestly, i cant say Creative has produced some reliable products...all i can see on these boards are player problems...if my player is broken ill just buy an ipod

I'm sure there's hope. Try to contact Creative's costumer service. You can either call them or email them.
Also, you can try to PM (send a private message) to a Moderator just in case the people over at costumer support fail to help you. But I'm sure they will have an answer for you.
It sounds to me that the player might be faulty. I'm confused as to why it won't even go to recovery mode

  • Zen v plus probl

i've only had my zen v plus for a day and decided to charge it overnight. when i was listening to it this morning, after a song finished, it just turned off. i pressed the reset button multiple times but nothing happened. if i try to turn it on, nothing happens - i even tried to press other buttons and held them for more than 30 seconds.
so far, nothing has been working.
i even linked the player to my comp through the usb cable and the computer didn't even detect it - so i can't even update it firmware.
has this happened to anyone else - if so, do you have a solution?
    thanks

try this I found it on another website I had the same problem and it worked.
To solve this, plug in your hardware and wait for the prompt to search for drivers.
If no drivers are found, click on the "advanced" option of locating the drivers manually.
If you dont get an option of browsing manually go to Control Panel > Device Manager and Find your hardware thats not installed. Right click on it and select Update Driver Software.
You get asked to Browse your computer, or you can enter a file location. Simply place the following in, or find the folder on your computer
    C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
Click next and Windows searches that folder... and finds your drivers... installs them and sorts it all out.
This has solved my problem with my Creative Zen V Plus MP3 player and some other hardwares which cannot be recognised."

  • ZEN NANO PLUS PROBL

Songs are not playing back that are loaded on the device. The names of the songs display on device but will not play...it skips the songs. I've updated the firmware. I've tried deleting all of the music on the device and reloaded and a few songs will play....all of the music is from Napster.
The songs on the zen are displaying when connected to PC. Used Creative Organizer to transfer songs to player.
It should not be this difficult. I had a RIO FORGE that was a piece of cake and thought I'd try another player.....

Songs that you bought on a per song basis will play on the Nano Plus if you use Windows Media Player or the Creative software to transfer them. The songs that you got from an unlimited subscription service won't play on the Nano Plus. The subscription songs will play on a Zen Microphoto, Zen Sleek Photo, Zen Vision m, or the new Creative flash players Zen V and Zen V plus.Message Edited by JK23 on 06-26-2006 05:43 PM

  • Creative Zen V Plus, Probl

I left my place for the weekend, i come back and attempt to turn my player on. but the screen comes up blank but the plays still on but i just cant see anything. i tryed resetting the player. and i have already updated the firmware. can soemone help me?

    yumx23,
Have you tried upgrading or reloading the firmware yet? That could help if the player is having some issues. If it doesn't, I would recommend contacting Customer Support for assistance.
On a seperate note, I have removed your signature as it is advertising, which is against the rules.

  • BIG problem with zen v plus 2gb mp3 player HE

i just brought my zen v plus today for 83 gbp i was scrolling through the radio channels and it decides to freeze on me i cant take it back because it was at abu dhabi airport any know how to sort the problem out? contact me on +44792328937 or post on here. thankyou

Hey. Have you tried resetting the player. Under the power switch, there is a tiny hole. Use a pin or paperclip to gently push in. The player should turn off, and rebuild its library when turned on again. You should also upgrade your firmware, available here. Just click on support, and go to downloads.

  • Zen Nano PLus song list probl

I had transferred about 00 songs into my zen nano plus but when I played it, I realised that I had lost alot of songs. Check the system info and it states that I have only 34 songs in the player. When i check back on my pc, it indicates that i have 00 songs in my player.
I owned the gb version and have only transferred less than half of its capacity.
I have the updated firmware and driver installed and my songs are all mp3 format. Therefore there shouldn't be a reason the player can't play my songs.
    Thanks,

So after I posted my initial qns, I went through the forums and found out that flash based players couldn't handle too many folders. I had transferred my songs using wmp sync and by doing so, the player created folders for each individual artist and broke down further into albums. This would have been great for hdd players but not for flash based ones.
What I did was to just transfer the songs individually using the explorer. It's a tad hassling but it doesn't create all those folders.
Hope that this help for any other new users of zen nano plus or flash based player. Feel a bit idiotic answering my own question though.
Jaded_Whisper if you have any more questions, you could pm me. I could try to help you with all my newbie expertise. LoL

  • Zen Nano Plus showing Probl

I am using Zen Nano plus. Somedays back I found it is not showing any of the mp3 files in it addtioanally some picture files also not able see.
But when I try to see the memory consumed it is showing as if those files are still there. I can't play any music as it is saying a error no music file found. But memory is consumed by those file.
Then I tried to re-install the firmware to get rid of all this issue, but I found the following error.
"Sorry, no Creative updates are available for ZenNanoPlus_PCFW_LF__2_03.exe."
1.Can anyone tell me the link where I can find latest
    Firmware for Zen Nano plus.
    2. And how to get rid of above problem?
Please let me know if you need more information regarding the problem.
    Thanks in advance

The firmware ZenNanoPlus_PCFW_LF__2_03.exe isn't available at the download site anymore as it's being replaced with a newer version.
You should go to the download page and choose the player you have from the category list and get the firmware there.
What's the website URL that you have mention there's no Zen Nano Plus listing in the category?

  • Zen Nano Plus Connection Probl

(2)Zen Nano Pluses. Both using firmware .0.03. One Red, one Black (Click and Clack always want to know what color car they are diagnosing...)
    (2) Computers, both XP SP2 with all updates; one called Dad's, one called W's.
One Zen (for ID, the red one) has been used on Dad's computer without issues for about 3 weeks.
One Zen, new and color Black, works on Dad's computer, but not on W's computer. W's computer will not properly recognize either the new Nano (the black one) or mine (the Red one), in either Creative MEdia SOurce, or Zen Explorer, or Windows explorer.
First, I have read the FAQ's. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Nano software. When I use PB's check odd things appear:
    PB's check:
With your player connected and View, Devices by Connection selected in Device Manager navigate through as follows:
Advanced Config and Power Interface (ACPI) PC
    ->Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
    -->PCI Bus
You should then see a series of USB Host Controllers that you will have to click through in turn to find the one your player is connected to.
Underneath each controller should be a USB Hub, and then devices are listed beneath the hubs.
For my N200 I have USB Mass Storage Device, Creative MuVo N200 USB Device then Generic Volume.
Your entry should be similar but with Zen Nano Plus instead of N200.
While you're there, right-click on the entry for the hub attached to your player and select Properties. On the Power tab it will show how much current the port can supply and in the Attached Devices list it will show how much power the player needs. In my case the hub supplies 500mA and the player needs 00mA.
    PB
What appears on Dad's computer, with either Nano, is USB Enhanced Host Controler, USB Root Hub, Generic USB Hub, USB Mass Storage Device, Creative Zen Nano Plus USB Device, Generic Volume. Again, either Nano works on Dad's computer.
On W's computer, after just having reinstalled the new mass driver, it is USB2 Enhanced Host Controller, USB Root Hub, USB Mass Storage Device, Disk Dri've. On restart from that, it reads Creative Nano Plus USB Device, with no "volume" underneath it, and the oddball icon is not there. I think the oddball icon is associated with the "Disk Dri've". Once it read under Creative ZEn Nano Plus, "Unknown Device". Also, when I attach a Nano to W's computer, it first seems to see the Nano in the New Device Found message, THEN while it is still attached, it says in another New DEvice Found mesage that it has found a Disk Dri've. It also shows some oddball icon I can't decipher, right next to the "safely remove Hardware" icon. The oddball icon does not appear on Dad's computer.
    Any ideas?
Thanks.Message Edited by Bennyd on 0-0-2006 06:6 AM

    NEWS!!!
Actually, we have 3 Zen Nano Pluses. Two (the black and the red) have .0.03 firmware. I have never connected the black or the red to W's computer and have it connect properly. In fact, I had just tried (again) to connect the black, it failed, I re-booted. Then, I connected the blue, with the old firmware, and it CONNECTED. I could see it in WIndows explorer as dri've F:, which never happened with either the red or the black with .0.03 firmware.
    So, now what?

  • Zen v plus major probl

?I just bought a zen V plus 4GB?as a gift for a friend of mine, got it charged, downloaded a video to it, I was surprising impressed with the result, then things went downhill fast, I was changing the players name and it locked, wouldnt turn off, nothing. I reset the player, I've had to do that on occasion with my zen xtra and vision M, not a huge deal though a little disconcerting, after the reset i changed the name, went to add some audio, and it couldnt recognize the device....hmm....look at the player, and its locked agin with a blank screen, the controls are lit and thats all, nothing else responds, and it wont even reset.....any help? Do I have a rare bum unit and should replace it with the same, or they plauged with problems? I'm defiantly taking this unit back, 2 major issues within 8 hours of ownership....and 0 minutes of operation , its not a keeper, any advice is appreciated.

  • Zen Nano Plus - Connection Problems and Firmware Upgrade probl

Like many others posting on this forum, for a while I had problems trying to get my GB Zen Nano Plus to be recognized by the .0.03 Firmware Update software.
I eventually got it by doing this:
While the Firmware Update software was "Searching" for a device, I kept on unplugging and plugging in the Zen Nano Plus from the USB cable while holding down the Play button, unti it "caught". I tried this since I noticed it would initially see the unit saying "A device has been detected in recovery mode...", but then throw the unit into "non-recovery" mode and hence force the Firmware Update software to keep on searching.
Anyhoo, after it did finally "catch" it (after about 0 times unplugging/plugging while holding the Play button down), it showed my firmware as .03.02, and so I did the upgrade to .0.03. The upgrade said "Complete". I then take the unit off of USB, and put my battery back in. and. uhm. well. Now it won't turn on at all. *sigh*
So there I go again in the "unplug-plug" loop on trying to get the older .03.02. Finally caught after about 30 times (yes my hands are tired). And after downgrading to .03.02, putting the battery back in, the unit turns on fine.. WHEW.
So, beware to everyone. Not sure if I'd trust the .0.03 Firmware. Doesnt seem to work on my Zen Nano Plus, and I JUST bought the thing from Circuit City about a week ago.
And for those of you having problems getting the Firmware Upgrade to work.. try my (tiring) method.
I tried this on my Dell D600 laptop (actually used the USB ports on the docking station).

  • Zen Nano Plus: Line in recording from micropho

I've got a Creative Zen Nano Plus and was very happy about its ability to encode MP3s from the line in jack.
Since the integrated microphone is not very good for recording (especially loud music) I tried to connect a microphone to the line in jack. Unfortunately I had to recognise that it doesn't record anything no matter if "Sync Track" is on or off.
I'd be glad if someone can tell me what exactly the problem is. Do I need some kind of special microphone (I read somewhere that it has to be "pre-amped", whatever that may mean) or is the line in jack designed for just recording from devices like a CD player? Help is very much appreciated. :-)

    Big bump.
I did some research quite a while ago and thought that I should report the results for people also having that problem.
A line-in jack is not a microphone-in jack. The difference between them is that the former is not supplied with electricity, so it can't power simple external microphones on its own. Thus, a real microphone-in jack is needed, though none of the Creative products has one included. You will still need a pre-amped microphone to get recordings with proper volume, though. A good and cheap solution is the Archos Stereo Microphone that comes with a preamplifier including volume adjust (http://www.archos.com -> Accessories -> Audio accessories).
Microphone-in jacks can be found for example in the iri'ver iFP-7** and iFP-8** series. Since this players are discontinued and newer models don't have these jacks, it's kind of hard to still use that feature.

  • Lower sound Zen Vision Plus than Zen Micro Pho

Hello! I have had Zen Micro/Zen Micro Photo in -2 years, before I this year switched to some Asono player, but the sound was low on that, and I wanted to go back to Creative for it's quality and sound. So I bought the new small Zen Vision Plus, very satisfied with video & other cool new functions! And to secure me a good sound, I bought big Creative headphones for 400 NOK, and they are very good with good sound and base(bass). But whenever I used the MP3 player, the sound dissapointed me, I also tried with the default earphones which followed, and the sound is still not as high as on Creative Zen Micro/Photo.My friend has Creative Zen Micro the old one, and we started the same song at the same time on both our players, and tried with the default headphones and the new headphones which I bought. And belei've you me the sound on his MP3 (Zen Micro) was much louder then on mine. So it is dissapointing to see that I am stuck with this MP3 with lower sound. I love the design & functions on Zen V Plus, and love the sound on Zen Micro. So I don't want to go back to Zen Micro. Is there some way to fix this? Some sort of upgrade? Or has it something to do that the MP3 in USA has lower sound and MP3 in Europe has higher, or the other way around? How do I check where my MP3 is from?I hope someone here has tips & tricks or solution to this problem, very annoying that my MP3 is "almost perfect"! I got to go play tennis now, waiting for a positi've reply, thanks a lot guys! Every single post is helpfull, thanks again!

well man all i can say is...bigger isnt always better. I have a Zen Micro Photo, its about a year old, i just have regular good ol target special headphones and its loud enough to blow an ear drum. Sometimes if i dont feel like?wearing headphones, i just turn it all the way up and set the headphones on my desk or something. sooooooooooooooooo i would just stick to the stuff you know is good...plus the micro photo is BAMF

  • Mass Storage Drivers to save Zen Nano Plus...[HALLELUJAH SOLVEDDDD!

Okay, my Zen Nano Plus was working fine until about two days ago, when it just started shutting off. The battery was full, and I switched batteries three times, but it still wouldn't stay on. I looked through the forums, and there was advice to update the firmware. [I had ..0] I downloaded it [.3.03], and ran it, but then it said that it couldn't find the hardware for the software [or the software for teh hardware?] and I didn't know what to do, but the computer [or whatever] decided to disconnect the Nano from the comp, so there was no firmware on the player at all. And now it won't turn on.
So I looked on the forums for THAT, and it was advised to download the Mass Storage Drivers, so I did. Only I don't know if I'm supposed to double click the icon and execute the program before I do the whole "push play before connecting the player to yor computer and continue holding play for ten seconds" thing, but I did, and I don't know if I was supposed to do, and somebody please help meh because I love my Zen and if he dies I am going to die as well. And be really bored during my classes.
Also, I am running on Windows ME.Message Edited by rubyandrest on 0-29-200708:4 PM

Dude...i have been a loyal customer of creative for years....i just updated my firmware on my nano plus and my zen shut down....no reset...nothing. i sent an email and i recieved a generic email about paying for contact help. they have lost a loyal customer and i am telling all of my friends to never buy a creative product. mine was fine and then i saw a firmware upgrade and thought, "wow, this would be great". then after installing it is useless. no help from creative at all. i have always had soundblaster cards and creative speaker systems so i figured id get their mp3 player...now i will never patronize their company again. go get an ipod. i am on payday! they will probably delete this post and deny me access to the site after this, but i am a marketing management major and this is a big No No for companies that wish to stay around. Creative will be gone in a few years if this is the service they offer.

  • Creative Zen Stone Plus Returns First Track On Player After Recharge

? Hi Everybody... I didn't see this topic posted on another thread, but I wasn't going to read thousands of posts to get this answer either. My problem is I own two players, one is a Creative Zen Stone and the other is the Zen Stone Plus. My Zen Stone does not return to the first track on the player when I recharge it (it remains on the same track), but the Zen Stone Plus does. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, but my mother-in-law listens to audiobooks. Sometimes those books don't have seperate tracks which means there is a single track that runs for like 6 - 8 hours. Is there a way to allow the player to pick up where it left off? It is a real pain to have to fast forward through most of an audiobook, especially when my player (the less expensi've player) continues where it left off. BTW.... Letting her have my player is not an option since hers has a display screen and mine doesn't.

So, reading the forum, it seems we have seroiusly problems with charging.... I'll try all I've read: disabling "energy conservation mode" on USB root, using an USB powered hub as Battery Charger, updating the Firmware, formatting / resetting the player and then using cml and the led to charge it to the full. I hope it solves, at least for me.... ?
