Big button remote for Dynex?
Hi, I recently got a Dynnex 32" LCD for my mom who is 87. She loves the TV but she can't read the tiny buttons on the not-very-good remote. Is there a "big button" remote that will work with Dynex TVs? All the remote manuals that I have seen don't acknowledge Dynex as existing.

Just finshed setting up a Dynex TV/DVD to work with an Innovage Jumbo remote control.
I used code 135 for my 32 inch Dynex TV/DVD Flat Screen combo.
1) Pressed Code search until the light at hte top went solid red.
2) Pressed TV and the light blinked once and stayed red.
3) Typed in 135 and the red light went off.
4) Pressed the on/off button and the TV turned off.
5) Pressed On/Off again TV came on. ------tested all the buttons everything worked
To use remote with the built in DVD you do not have to type in any more codes .
All you have to do to switch to control the DVDby pressing the input button once.
A menu will come up
You then press the input button as many times as necessary until you have selected DVD.
That is it.
The remote will now control the DVD. --
To go back to the TV, press input again to bring up the input menu and then press the input button until you have selected TV.

Using BT Big Button 100 with Virgin Media 1571 ans...
Hi there -
We are looking at getting the BT Big Button 100 for my elderly in-laws but need to find out if the 1571 shortcut button on it will work with the Virgin Media answering service, instead of BT's own? (they have a Virgin Media package for phone, TV and broadband) I cannot find any number to call to get advice from BT directly and the user guide does not really confirm if the button works in exactly the same way with other non-BT answer services. Has anyone here actually done this successfully? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!
Deb.The button will be programmed to dial 1571 so if Virgin use this for their service it should work. If they use a different no. For voicemail it may be possible to reprogram the button. See if you can find a user manual on the phone on the BT site.

Remote for iPod does not work for MENU
I have just bought a 30GB iPod and the A/V connection Kit which includes a Remote. The menu function of the Remote has no effect on the iPod.
One reply to such question stated, quote ... it does not work ... it is meant for the front row software.
In the documentation provided with the A/V connection Kit, there was nothing re the limitation in functionality of the unit.
Could someone pls explain to me what is meant by "front row software" in relation to the iPod ?

In reading the documentation more carefully, it does state without going into details, that the Menu button is for other Apple applications.

Remote for iTunes in a Two-PC Network
I've added the "Remote for iTunes" app to my new Android-based phone; but, it's iTunes on my wife's PC that recognizes the application rather than mine. Home sharing is turned on. Windows 7 on both laptops.
Suggestions as to how to go about changing the arrangement, so that my iTunes is the one that recognizes the remote phone app?

I too have had issues where the apps would not be updated even when tethered through iTunes. I was finally able to resolve this problem by restoring the phone... which seems to wipe the phones operating system clean.
Just deleting the individual apps and trying to have itunes reinstall them doesn't seem to work, (I've tried that method first), because the problem seems to be a glitch in the OS... that no app can hurdle over.
This is by far the longest way of fixing the problem but it seemed to work for me. So backup the phone, then press the "restore" button...

I have always used the apple TV remote for my presentations. I bought a retina display last year for the betterment of my presentations and now I have to stand near my computer and hit a button to change my slides where as before I used my remote. Will a infra-red adapter work with the apple TV remote in the macbook pro retina display? Love my computer, but very disappointed not to have a remote for presentations that does not need the internet. Does anyone have any ideas?
Yes, I used that and it works great if you have wireless connection. Im looking for a remote that worked like the apple TV remote. My questions is, "Is there a USB infra-red remote that works with mac. I have found this one: Keyspan EZ1 easy presenter. It claims with works with PC and Mac and the reviews are good. Does anyone know anything about it or if it works with retina display macs?

Lost remote for Apple Tv 1st generation.
Hi,
I've lost my remote for my 1st generation Apple TV and can no longer navigate through the menus. Can the 1st generation remotes still be purchased. If so where??! If not can a different remote work to navigate through the menus of a 1st generation Apple TV. I've tried a 2nd generation remote and it did not navigate through the menus but did make the light on the 1st generation Apple TV come on when I tried to push the buttons. I've downloaded remote apps. on my iPhone, but without the remote for the 1st generation Apple TV I was not apple to navigate through the Apple TV menus to sync up the iPhone remote app. Any assistance would be helpful.

Actually you can use the remote app to control the first generation Apple TV, but you'd need the supplied remote to set it up.
You don't need the first generation remote, the remote for the second generation model will control either model.
So assuming you still have your remote for your second generation Apple TV you could configure the first generation Apple TV with it to work with the remote app on the iPad and not need to buy a new remote at all. But if you do buy a new remote, the one sold in the store will be just fine. -
How to pair a new remote for Apple TV First Gen Without the Old Remote?
We bought the first generation apple tv when it first came out. When we got it, it came with the old small plastic remote. A few years back we lost the plastic remote and decided to one of the new metal remotes but 1 problem. We can pair the new remote with the old apple tv without the old remote.

My aluminum remote does not appear to connect with the Apple TV receiver; I've changed the battery. I can turn on the Apple TV and the opening screen comes up, but the remote doesn't seem to connect...no cursor or movement on the Apple TV screen occurs.

I have bougt a new Idea Center B550 which comes with TV remote for built in Aver Media Card H334.
OS Win8. The remote is acting strange. Some of the buttons is working normaly, some of them are acting funny and the rest don't work at all. The numeric block (2-0) doesn't work at all, 1 acts like Channel +1, * acts like no. 8 and # acts like no. 3. I have checked, using my camera, that all of the bottons are transmitting.
My question is:
Is it a hartware problem (faulty remote) or is it a driver or software problem?
Any solution or advice is welcome.

JirkaIf your Samsung remote has a setting for CABLE BOX then it is possible you will get LIMITED control over the STB (try Motorola or Genreal Instruments [prior incarnation of Moto STB group]). If it is a DVR, most other brand remotes won't control the DVR functions.

I've bought a new remote for my apple TV and now I can't access the menu
I just bought a new remote for my Apple TV since I lost the original one. Now I cannot access the menu as all I get is the standard "screen saver". Even then, sometimes it won't even turn on, so I have to unplug it and wait two minutes and then plug it back in. Regardless if I do that or not...........the best I ever get is the screen saver.

My remote for my Apple TV just stopped working and I have tried putting in a new battery, re-pairing the remote, resetting the device by unplugging it, and I checked the infared coming from the remote is working. The light just blinks at me 3 times what else can I try to fix it?
Have you tried unpairing the remote? You do this by pointing your remote at the Apple TV and holding the MENU and Left buttons down together for 6 seconds.

Pairing a NEW remote for the apple TV (2nd gen)
We pair all our remotes to our apple products. Our paired remote for our 2nd Generation apple TV was lost, so we bought a new one. How do I pair the new remote, when the Apple TV won't even turn on because our new remote isn't paired with it..? When I press any button on the new remote I only get a double light flash signalling that the remote isn't paired with that product.

You can also hold down Menu and Right for 6 seconds to pair Apple TV and the Apple Remote.
When you successfully pair your Apple Remote, Apple TV displays a chainlink symbol ( ) above a picture of a remote. Apple TV now works only with the paired remote.
You might have to change your screen name (kidding).

[CUPS] Documents print with no margin on top of the page
Hello people! I'm having a weird issue when I print documents. Whatever I print, from whatever application I print, it seems that the top margin is reduced. For instance, I have PDF documents with a one-inch top margin. The margin appears to be okay
