Big connection problems since 25th June

hi, i purchased an iphone 3gs less than 2 months ago......brilliant until fri25th june!!
it keeps dropping its connection with the carrier. on some occasions it looks like you have a signal . try making a call and the screen comes up as if making a call but never connects , no ringing sound , person the other doesn't receive call. I went into 1 vodafone shop saturday who said it was because i had an old sim. they changed it over and worked for 15 mins....took into 2nd vodafone shop who said it was because didn't have latest itunes down load?? any how went home downloaded and still no different!!! I am not on IOS 4 unless it happens automatically....i am currently sat at home and cannot use phone where as before never had any probs what so ever ....any ideas??

Internet Connect Problems Since Updates.different than the "settings" issue

Since the last couple of updates I have had nothing but trouble with my wireless connection on my MacBook Pro 104.11. I fixed the last problem but now any time I shut my computer off, I have to reset my wireless router (NetGear) in order to connect with airport. Otherwise it tells me it senses the router but not the internet.
I have 2 other computers running wirelessly and no such problems with them. They properly connect as soon as they are turned on.
Any ideas?

Another thing that has worked for many is to just copy/duplicate that Location in Network>Location>Edit Locations..., then use that one.
It's easy to switch locations under the Apple icon.
Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers for the Interface you're using...

Then Apply. These are safer/faster than most ISP's DNS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.

DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.254.3.183 behind the scenes.
And some Routers/Modems & Macs don't communicate it well.
WE have more if that doesn't work.

Massive wireless connection problems since airport client update 2009-001

Hi,
I have a brand new MacBook Unibody 2 GHz with 4 GB RAM and an OSX installation up to date. Since the update of the airport client software 2009-001 on March 4th, I have MASSIVE problems to establish a working wifi network connection.
I use as APs a D-Link 614+ with up to date router firmware, a ZyXel Wireless Lan Router 100 (some ISP bulk router from my provider) with up to date router firmware and an AVM 7170 Wireless LAN router with up to date firmware. The last one is extremly expensive and state of the wifi art.
First of all, I can not establish a stable connection to no one of my wifi routers. After entering the passphrase for WPA, an established connection fades out in 20seconds-3minutes. And trying to establish a connection lasts minutes! Mostly OS X is telling me "Out of time". But in wireshark there is in due to my research mostly no packet transfer over the en1 wifi device at all! The airport card sometimes is fooling around with me!
I tried serveral configurations with all my routers differing in encryption (Wep->Wpa->Wpa2) or TTL of the packets or whatever the router is configurable. But I could not solve this problem for me.
Wifi is like dead.... not working reliable... or not working at all.
I have also used Wireshark to get into this problem. With start of an connection with EAPOL, it lasts serveral seconds till the airport card replies to the AP. Airport should response in milli seconds.... but no!
Then DHCP handshake sometimes finishes succesfully, but the airport card turns the correct ip address into a wrong ip address.
MacBook: 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.0 Request "give me an ip"
AVM Router: 10.255.128.1 to 255.255.255.0 ACK "TAKE 10.255.128.25"
You would think the airport card would take the given 10.255.128.25, but no it takes 192.168.0.100 and can not establish an internet connection, OF COURSE!
What the **** is the airport client firmware doing while takeing the wrong IP adress, which is not given by the DHCP Server?
And I have also discovered, that the airport card is sending out tons of ARP requests like:
MacBook: MacBookMacAdress to Broadcast ARP "who has 10.255.128.1?" (my avm router)
AVM Router: AVMMacAddress to MacBookMacadress ARP "I am at ....."
But hey, the airport card seems not be able to understand the avm reply and requests again immediately uncountable times!
Apple, please fix your airport client software. It seems to me the parser within the firmware for packet parsing has some kind of dead locks or sth else.
This are just three hints for the firmware developers.
PLEASE FIX THAT!

I don't know if this will fix your problem or not but it fixed my airport from self assigning ip's instead of taking the proper one.

Give it a shot, it worked for me.

Connection problems since last software update

Since the last 2 software updates on August 19 (Security Update 2009-004 and Safari), my internet connection is very slow and sometimes breaks down. This is most apparent when streaming music breaks off repeatedly (which never happened before) or when even clutterless sites such as Google take a long time to load. I am running OS X 10.5.8 on an iMac (2008) with Safari 4.0.3, but Firefox also runs slow, so the problem might not be with the Safari update. By the way, another Mac running on an older version of Tiger and connected to the same router is connecting without problems.
However, Network diagnostics says that my Internet connection seems to be working properly.
I am certain this has to do with the last updates and am wondering if I am the only one experiencing these problems? What can be done?

There is obviously an inbuild error in the last system update. Some portables suffer from this speed slowdown only when connected to power while everything is fine when working on battery. There is an patch for it (10.5.8AirPortUpdate1.0), sorry I dont have the entire link but you should find it).
Mine is suddenly slow when connected to a secondary monitor and the browser window is moved there, whule everything speeds up to normal when moving the brwoser window to the power book - no matter if it set as the primary or secondary monitor.
I am looking for urgent help mayself for almost a week and do not understand why the Apple folks are´nt dealing with the issue. Hope there is a solution soon.

Iphone 4 bluetooth connectivity problems since updating to ios 5.01

My wife and I both have an Iphone 4 through verizon. I updated my ios to 5.01. Hers is still 4.3.10. Since updating mine the bluetooth feature have gone crazy. When I get in my truck (2008 Nissan Frontier) it just continually connects and disconnects with the built in blue tooth system in that vehicle. I cannot make or take a call on the system it just keeps dropping the connection then re-connecting. Funny thing is my wife's phone doesn't have this problem. It connects and functions normally.
I wanted to just roll back ios 5.0.1 but I've found out you aren't allowed to do that. Nissan has no updates for their bluetooth system either.
I have gone the extreme of completely wiping out my iphone and re-installing everything fresh and that has done nothing. I have also tried completely deleting all the phone saved in the truck's system and re-setting them up and that too has done nothing to fix the problem.
Anyone have a suggestion? I have to think that there is something in ios 5.0.1 that is messed up with bluetooth.

Interesting discussion. I too am having connection issues with an original iPad. I have an olde' linksys wrt54gs router with a Linksys RE1000 wireless extender (repeater). I can connect to the router just fine when I'm in range but can't use the repeater signal on this iPad only. Even when I'm right on top of it. One thing that may have helped is changing from WPA2 to simple WPA encryption in the routers settings. So far (crosses fingers), it's working ok.

Facetime connection problems since the IOS 6 update?

Since I upgraded to IOS6 I get the following messages when I'm on facetime: Poor Connection, The video will resume automatically when the connection improves. Connection lost. Never had this problem before.

Same here. Although search returns results anything I select brings up a blank page on my iPhone 4. Also when I go the purchased tab, I see the films or tv shows but when I tap into them it brings up a blank page again. What is happening.

Network Connection Problem Since 10.4.6?

It seems before the firmware or even before 10.4.6, I could turn on my mbp, it would connect to the wireless access point and away I would go.
But now, opening a web browser, nothing comes up. I have to disconnect the network connection and reconnect (maybe a couple times) before it will be connected.
I am using a Linksys access point (WRT54G)

So I reinstalled OS X.4.5 and it fixed the problem BUT I then applied the patch to X.4.6 and the problem came right back.. So, what is the deal, I'll tell you. For some reason, after installing X.4.6 OSX corrupts your saved WPA/WEP password in a cache. So when you initially connect it doesn't work, but after you turn it off, then on again, it fetches the uncorrupt password from the keychain and it works. Want proof? Ok, do this:
- Go to System Preferences
- Click Network
- Highlight AirPort and click Configure
- Choose "By default, join: Preferred networks"
- Select your access point and click edit
- Click on "show password"
At this point you should see a crazy corrupt password.. Proof that it is jacked up. Now:
- Exit that window back to the access point list
- Remove your access point with the "-" button
- Launch your keychain and delete your access point keychain entry.
- Reboot
- Go back to the "By default, join:" page and click the "+" this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot, BAM, FIXED!

Connection problems since my activation date

Hi all,
My activation date was on the 21st May, I set up my equipment but the broadband light flashed orange, so i left it overnight to see if it would turn blue but it didnt. So i logged the fault with the technical help. After various lengthy calls where they did tests on the line I still have issues.
I have managed to get a connection for a couple of days but then it goes back to the orange flashing light. For some reason I tried disconnecting everything from the telephone line and leaving it for about 30 mins then I put all the wires back in and started the hub up and it gets a connection for a few hours but then goes off.
I cant be bothered to pull all the wires out and put them back in everytime I want use my broadband.
I've checked the faults section on my account and it says ONGOING. But I haven't heard anything from the tech help team.
Anyone got any suggestions? I dont want to spend another 45mins of my life on the phone to someone going through the same procedures time and time again..

normally BT will not intervene until your 10 training period is complete
in order to give any suggestions/help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems) http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results .
are you connected directly to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Do you have any phone extension sockets in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone

FaceTime connection problems since IOS6. Are there any solutions?

I have an iphone 4 my friend has iphone 4S. We have both successfully used FaceTime previously as she is based in another country. We can use iMessages but neither can connect to the other with FaceTime. It calls but then says Connection Lost. I've searched everywere and I contacted my carrier and they told me to do a reset which I did (and I told my friend to do it too) but it still doesn't work. Is this one of the problems with the release of IOS 6? Does anyone know what Apple are doing about the problem? Thanks.

HTML link connectivity problems since iOS 7 update

Links no longer connect through to browser in native mail app since upgrading to iOS 7. I can copy and paste only. Thoughts? Solutions?

I can confirm that I'm having the same issue on my verizon iphone 4 on ios 7. If I click a link in an e-mail sent to me through the IOS mail app, safari often does not open. I've noticed that some pages will open. For example. A friend sent me a link to a story on imore.com. The link to the story would not open in safari. Dead. However, a separate link in the e-mail to the main site, imore.com DID open in safari when I tapped on it. I've had this issues with links not working for the last 2-3 weeks, and for whatever reason a reboot of the phone (hold down on/off and home, wait for logo, release buttons) has temporarily fixed the issue.

Bose soundlink Connection Problems Since iOS7 update.

My iphone 5 was connecting to my Bose soundlink no problems, but after updating to ios7 it drops out from time to time, and then has problems re connecting until i dont use it for a while. my iPad mini can still connect, but it drops out occasionally too and same issue. is there a possible bug here? I have tried re-setting the device too (duH!)

Big colors problem since the last update !

All was good before i install the 7.1.6 update.
Since the update, my videos have strange colors with bad 'blocks' like if i use the 256 colors mode or even less !!
Any ideas ?

I see this trouble in the QT application itself and
in a browser the images seem OK.
If i look my videos with another player like VLC the
pictures are normal. So i can really say it comes
from QT.

I have a similar problem looks like there are only 16 or 256 colors.
Colors are wrong reading from Apple Movie trailer via Safari.
However they are OK if I use firefox or VLC.
I also tested mpeg4 files.
The same file reads wrong vie QT or Safari but OK via Firefox.
Seems to be happeninng since last update.
Any idea ?

Zen Micro "not connected" problem since upgrading firmw

Hi All,
I have had the zen micro for a week and it has been working fine with original firmware & software supplied on CD.
After noticing the battery life was poor, I decided to upgrade the firmware.
This is where all my troubles began...
After upgrading the firmware to 2.00.2 I found that when I connected my player it was now recognised at an MTP device and windows asks me if I would like WMP (windows media player) to sync with the device.
If I select yes, it tries to find the device in WMP and tells me it is not connected !
If I go into Control Panel- Device Manager tells me that I DO have a zen micro connected under the "Windows Media Devices" section.
Zens micro media explorer now also fails to see my device and thinks it is disconnected.
So I have no way of transferring files to my zen micro.
In an attempt to remove the problem I try going into rescue mode on the zen and reloading the firmware to an earlier version, with a version I have downloaded from this website .0.03.
The zen successfully erases the firmware and behold, my pc still fails to recognise the device so it cannot install any firmware on top of this.
So now I have a Zen with no firmware installed (and a "firmware problem" message everytime I turn it on) and a pc that won't recognise it anymore.
I have spent a good 5 hours this evening trying to fix this.
I have tried everything on these forums, but I simply cannot get my PC to connect to the zen micro, despite it recognising it everytime I connect it !
Please help before me or the zen dies !

Here is a note I sent to the Creative support folks. They simply suggested I go back to firmware .0.03.
I have to admit, going back to the other firmware update does not seem to be the true resolution, but I really don't have any more time to waste fixing your bugs. So, I am now on .0.03. It's a good thing I synchronized all 920+ songs, or I would not be a happy camper right now. :-)
I will tell you it appears to be a multiple USB issue with your new firmware. I experimented with this, and found that if I have my iPAQ connected into my USB ports, as well as my USB mouse, my USB CD/DVD dri've and my USB Keyboard, the MTP explorer will not recognize the Zen Micro.
When I take the iPAQ out, magically, the Zen Micro gets recognized and the MTP Explorer is working. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WITH THE MTP FIRMWARE!!
I am now back to the .0.03 release of the firmware and none if this happens. As I write this to you, I have everything connected and I am ripping a CD to my device - no problems. I am fortunate however to have a laptop that I was able to do this with, otherwise I would be in the same place others are, and the upgrade frimware doesn't ever recognize the Zen Micro, even though it is in the Device Manager. ?
So, I would say, that your MTP firmware takes control too much, and seems to substitute for something like an iPAQ, where they cannot co-exist or other USB harware, such as a memory reader (CF, SmartMemory, etc.). This is not a PC USB issue, in my mind. It is a firmware issue that is causing the conflict.

Bluetooth connection problem since upgraded Centro software to 1.07 spnt

I upgraded to 1.07 spnt and now when i connect via bluetooth the phone doesn't work. Right when i turn my bluetooth headset off, the phone works again.
I once again upgraded the software, and then I paired it with my bluetooth before i added any of my contacts, calendar, and everything else, and it worked perfectly.
What do you think is going on?

When trying to upgrade iPhone, iTunes says it can't complete . Check network connections and settings. This just started when I switched to Firefox. I can't find which settings need to be changed.
