2:
1. Enhance your extract structure (RSA6 - 'Enhance ExtractStructure') with a 'ZZ'-field
2. Add your code to the user exit (RSA6 - 'Function Enhancement)
If your additional field was in an Excel file, it should be uploaded from Flatfile. You can merge both sources by using an ODS

You would know for a fact if the device is in use, but if you go back to the find my iPhone app in iCloud.com, you can either select to erase it, or place it in lost mode, in which case, once the device makes a connection to the internet, it will automatically go into that mode.

  • Os upprade 5.8 to 5.9 - big deal?

Is the OS upgrade from 5.8 to 5.9 a big deal? I would think not (maybe just patches), but would like your input. Thanks!

Well, Sun really created a decent ground for confusion when it comes to the Solaris 8/9 upgrade.
The problem is that many things that went into the different Solaris 9 releases, also went into the Solaris 8 updates. Hence; the latest update of Solaris 8 is quite equal to the first release of Solaris 9.
Even still, an upgrade from an early version of Solaris 8 to the latest version of Solaris 9 shouldn't mean any big differences, at least in my opinion and experience.
Why don't you go directly to Solaris 10? Solaris 10 is really a huge improvement over Solaris 9, and very much so over the first version of Solaris 8.
    .7/M.

With that particular variety of 1606 (it's a 1606 error message even though the 1606 error message number isn't returned by the iTunes installer), the following Microsoft document is worth a try:
You receive an "Error 1606" error message when you try to install or remove a Microsoft program

  • Is changing from JTextArea to JTextPane a big deal???

    hi, me again,
I was just wondering if anybody could tell me if it is a big deal to change from a TextArea to a TextPane! I have only realised what I can and can't do in a textarea and was wondering if I have a lot of work ahead with documents and attribute sets!?
anyone have any comforting or reassuring word for me before I go a mess up my program!!

If you use version control or make a snapshot of your source code, you can try to explore and learn from it (if and only if there is no time constraint)

  • Why is "push" such a big deal...can't get wi-fi hardly anywhere anyway?

I love my ipod touch but as far as connecting to a wi-fi signal anywhere other than my house, it doesn't seem to work. I've tried probably 50 different places, re-set networks and tried other fixes on the board, etc., and I've been able to connect to one network at a hotel. Everywhere else (especially the places I'm usually at each day) I can never connect despite the fact that there are 4 or 5 free wi-fi networks.
If that is the case, why is "push email" and other stuff a big deal if I can't connect to a wi fi network to get the changes anyway?

Push is only truly useful on an "always on" network. Hence the iPhone.
As you have discovered wifi access is a hit or (mostly) miss affair but at least it's fast and not as outrageously expensive as many iPhone rate plans.

  • Gingerbread update -- What's the big deal?

Having found Froyo to be a very useful update, I was curious what to expect for Gingerbread, so I looked up the Top 10 (according to one ZDNET blogger) Features of Gingerbread:  http://www.zdnet.com/blog/burnette/top-10-features-in-android-23-gingerbread/2143
They're broken down between top 5 user features and top 5 developer features.  Below are the top 5 user feature [with my comments].  I'm just curious why folks are in such a lather over Gingerbread -- what am I missing out on?
New on-screen keyboard. The standard keyboard has been greatly improved in Android 2.3, with faster input and more intuitive typing. Even cut-and-paste got a makeover. [IMHO the HTC Sense KB on TB is very good -- perhaps this feature is needed on other Android phones]
Streamlined user interface. New color schemes and various UI changes and polish make Android more consistent and simpler to use. [Yawn].
Application and power management. Android 2.3 provides better insight into what is running in the background, how much memory and CPU time it is using, and even lets you kill misbehaving apps. Yes, after months of telling us we don’t need a task killer, they give us a task killer. Enjoy your chuckle, iPhone fans. [I'm pretty happy with the Apps manager in 2.2, but I don't run tons of Apps].
SIP Internet calling. Voice over IP is integrated directly into Android 2.3. Unfortunately you’ll have to get a SIP account from a third party, and the ability might be curtailed on some carriers. [I can see this as very useful for some TB owners -- but really, how many of you use VOIP?]
Download management. All your downloads from your browser, email, and other apps, can now be viewed and controlled from one place. [Thus far, I haven't had any issues with download mgmt.  I use the "OI File Manager" app, but perhaps the few apps I use which download stuff happen to be in the "well behaved" category -- e.g. let me know where they're downloading?"]

it's not that big of a deal to me (or i would've got it by now). it's not nearly as critcal as froyo was (flash, etc). what bothers me though, is that it can and has been done. and now verizon is capable of pushing it to other devices.....older ones and newer ones....so why not us? i'm not going to throw fits or gripe about it, but since you brought it up, my opinion is that they plastered ads all over the place when they launched this device....and then just sort of gave up on it (took forever for anyone to offer cases for extended batteries, a BAD update, i'm still not sure if they ever got the dock that they had advertised and then pulled from their site??? etc, etc). i'm happy with my tbolt and have been fine with froyo, but GB is being pushed to other devices so there's really no reason we shouldn't have it soon.

  • No big deal but...

I recently got a 1tb W/D H.D. and it came with Memeo life agent. I tried it out and didn't like it so I dragged it to the trash. It left this annoying smily face on my toolbar that I can seem to get rid of. The program is gone but the icon is still there. Not that big of a deal, just a little frustrating. If anyone has had this and has a solution I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance.

    Hi william,
Just click on it, hold the click down, and drag it to the desktop. Gone.
EDIT: I was assuming it was in the Dock. If it's in the top Menu Bar, then see Ferd's reply.

  • Vector smart object? Big deal.

My primary use for Photoshop is for producing illustrations rather than manipulating photographs. With that in mind, I don't understand the revolutionary nature of "Vector" Smart Objects, since once they land in Photoshop they cease to have any "vector" qualities. They can be resized, distorted, and made more or less transparent, which is fine, but all those things can be done to any raster Photoshop layer.  So my feature request is: since Photoshop's Path tool  can deal in vector art within Photoshop, why can't that facility be extended to the Smart Objects? I realize that what I am asking amounts to asking for Illustrator to be installed inside Photoshop, but why not? I think there was an app that worked that way-Deneba Canvas? I don't know, maybe only illustrators who work in both Photoshop and Illustrator would care about this, but I do a lot of it-produce an item in Adobe Illustrator for use in a picture, then copy and paste it into a scanned figure opened in Photoshop, then add shadows and tones. It would be helpful to be able to manipulate the vector art as vector art in Photoshop.

ya, you  have to open it up in ai like the above post said if you want to edit it. but also one of the advantages to smart objects is that when you resize it, the quality remains unchanged as long as it is equal to or smaller than the original size. for example, if you design a button in illustrator, then you put it on a web page in photoshop and scale it down and hit enter, you can always make it bigger (up to original size) without losing quality. if you did this with a regular raster image you cannot size it up without losing quality.
the reason you cannot edit the vectors in photoshop is that vector and raster are different types of files. it's kindof like trying to edit videos in photoshop. just wont work. it'd be cool if you could though because i am in your shoes too.

  • Not a Big Deal.... But Baffling???

I often find myself wondering.... "why would a simple line tool NOT be part of Muse?"
What possibly could be the reason to not include this? I mean it always compared to Indesign right? Can Indesign draw a simple line?  LOL
Maybe it's just me... but... gee.... no simple line tool? Really?
I'm sure it's be discussed before. Not really a huge deal.... just a whim post.... and yes, I know the work-arounds..... just kinda odd.  Yes?  No?
    Cliff

Muse cannot do what browser can't do. It's as simple as that. There simply is no method in HTML to draw arbitrary lines. Any such stuff will have to be done using the <canvas> tags or similar and that means Edge Animate or a respective export from Illustrator/ InDesign or whatever. The only types of lines that exist natively in HTML/ CSS are the <HR> tag and the various borders/ outlines that can be applied to elements.

  • What is the big deal about itunes?

I'm not joking and I'm not being critical.
I'd say my computer & music usage began with playing CD's while writing a mid-term then got a boost with Napster. After that I became acquainted with WMPlayer, quicktime, and other music players. Granted, I don't necessarily understand formats and all the other 'stuff that one player does and the other player doesn't do (although thanks to these forums and others I'm learning).
    Arriving at the question...
Why is itunes so big (popular)? I understand it to be a player, organizer, and has access to online downloads....What am I missing?
Legal downloads are available at Walmart and other retailers, right? Maybe not itunes u, but still.
Again, I am not asking for any negative reason, only to grasp why itunes has become so popular/successful. Or maybe it's just a lot of ads I am seeing?
Another thought I had was that it was an all-inclusive app for phone, ipod, mac, etc.
Can't wait to hear why I'm lucky to have itunes on my most awesome imac.

While an interesting topic, strictly speaking this is supposed to be a technical question and answer forum and not one on Apple's market success, so don't be over surprised if this topic gets moderated.
In history I believe iTunes actually has roots in a very popular and highly capable mp3 player back in OS9 days, SoundJam (for old SJ owners earlier versions had a lot of the same look and features). There are a few other other media players out there now for Mac but curently none truly offer all the features of iTunes, the way that not all of them really came up to the capabilities of the original SJ. As a non-iPod owner, non-iTunes Store user, I still use iTunes simply because of its capabilities.
Now let technology herald iPods. There's already a good software package centered around music, so add on other things - hardware, convenience in music purchasing. The developed interface requires you have to use iTunes to conveniently run iPods (not owning an iPod I am not sure if you can't simply copy files to them the way you can with some other mp3 players). It also requires iTunes if you wish to play iTunes DRM music.
So now it's the whole package. Start off with a good interface, develop on top of that a convenient hardware and music sales component and you have a package that is centered around, and technically requires, iTunes.
Hopefully there still some technical content.

  • I bought a computer from an old co-worker and it still has there iTunes on it. It's not really a big deal but when I go to update my apps I have to have the old owners password and I have no contact with them. Is there anyway to get rid of this?

When I try to update apps that automatically come with the iPhone it won't let me because I don't have the old owners password. If there is anything I could possibly do, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!

You should delete any the apps and media purchased with their account, then create your own AppleID (if you haven't already) and sign in with it.

  • My iphone 4 wont restore my pictures from my backup.  I never uploaded them to the computer so this is a big deal.

I have tried to restore from my Iphone 4 from my last back up and other back ups to see if it would help.  Nothing seemed to work to get my media back.  I really need my pictures because i have not backed them up on my computer

The backup only saves the iPads own camera roll.  You should have backed up your other photo's into whatever application you use for photo's on your computer.  If you did not back them up somewhere, they are gone.
This articel will tell you exactly what is backed up: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946

  • Dear Creative, Mac OS X Is A BIG DEAL. We Need Drivers?

Dear Creative, During the past five years, Apple has grown 500% (five-hundred percent) while Microsoft has grown 0.75% (three-quaters of one percent) yet we still have no Creative drivers for Mac OS. I don't get it? I kindly ask someone in management with Creative that you guys get drivers/software out for Mac OS very quickly. It will be a VERY wise business decision. Think about the sales it will drive....

How can I get it away?
You can't take it off. Just delete the old Xcode installer (look at the version number by selecting the Xcode installer and pressing command+i in the finder. The one that equals the Xcode from the link I posted is the new one)
