Big photo on contacts
Hi!
I added some contacts to my address book, then synced them to my iPhone.
I noticed that, if I place a picture on each of them, BEFORE syncing, when I call them the picture remains in the little square.
Alternatively, if I put a fullscreen picture in the folder that I'm syncing to the iPhone and THEN, from the iPhone, assign that picture to the contact, the iPhone will then display the fullscreen image when I call them.
What I want to do is find a way to do this to all my contacts, on the MAC, instead of doing it inside the iPhone which would be such a pain, that I want to give up just thinking about it.
There's GOT to be a way to do this. Anyone? Maybe a third party address book app, I don't know...please help?

Photos on contacts are different sizes since iOS8. Is that a bug?
I've had iPhones for a long time. My contacts have all been carried over and everything has worked well untill iOS8 (or is is a Yosemite bug?) I have a macbook pro 2014 with Yosemite and an iPhone5 with iOS8. This is what happens:
I update (and allways have updated) all contacts through my macbooks. This is so I have a small photo of whoever is calling
Like the one above. But now some of these photos cover the whole of the iPhone when these people call me (only a few, not all)
Before, if you added a photo to a contact via the iPhone you got those big photos of your contact. I however never have done this
Is it a bug? Has iOS8 suddenly decided that my wifes face should be big (lol) but not my sisters?
Seriosly though. Is this a known issue? Waht can I do to changee this? Is it because the photo is "too big" (over 224Kb) for iOS8 to
keep it small. I am out of things to try ... Need the small contact pics back please
//NikiCloud syncs all your contacts with all your devices.
However, if you are using a second service for syncing contacts, you need some little extra work.
First things to do:
1. When You sync contacts via iCloud you must disable the sync via iTunes.
2. Check Address Book Preferences > Account to see if it syncs only with iClud or also with Google -
I just backed up my 3gs iphone using itunes. All my photos and contacts have disappeared from my phone. I am unable to locate them on my computer. HELP!!!
OK, I understand. Try this ... it's much safer. It will simply restore your backup, but not do anything to your iOS:
While your iPhone is plugged in to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes display.
Choose "Restore from backup ..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
Again, what this will do is place that backup back on your iPhone without changing iOS. So you should be very confident in the backup contents before doing this. -
Lenevo K900: Problem with display of photos of contacts
Hi
I bought a new K900. Initially it showed the photos in my contacts (after syncing with gmail, what'sapp etc). But, a friend of mine by mistake did some setting change, and it is no more displayed. I've tried to look at all possible manueverings with the settings options in 'Contacts' but I am not able to display the photos of contacts.
Request you all to please share if there is any solution to this problem.

Photos and contacts will not sync from iCloud to iPhone
Hi Everyone
I have an iPhone 4 with the latest iOS (5.1.1), and have had to restore my phone due to sluggish response from the device, however I have had problems when setting up my phone again.
When the phone was restored and I wanted to restore a backup, it said the latest backup was from 10/12/2011 (I'm assuming this was the last time I backed up to iTunes). The issue I have is all my photos and contacts are on iCloud (last updated 25/05/2012, it clearly says this on my device under iCloud section). I have looked about to try and find a way to get this information back onto my iPhone but have not had any luck.
Can someone please help me find out how to get my photos and contacts from iCloud back onto my iPhone, having no contacts is a real pain! If anyone can help it would be really appreiciated!
MESSAGE TO APPLE: Your support is a complete joke, why should I have to pay for your assistance on clear design flaws with iCloud and its ability to sync with iOS enabled devices. Also you should really consider allowing people to download their photos / contacts via iCloud.comme again everyone, I've managed to find my contacts on my iPhone. When I look under the contacts app it just says "no contacts", but if I look at the contacts tab via Phone they all appear, weird bug.

I am new to the icloud, and I have a question. I have backed my phone up to icloud, with photos, music, contacts, etc. but now most of my contacts have disappeared on my actual phone, and when someone sends me a text, just a phone number shows up instead of their names. What happened? How do I get all of my contacts back on my phone?

When I double click on a photo opened in events I get a black question mark in stead of the big photo.
subsequently the slide show does not show pictures. I hope anyone knows if I have may be changed a setting?Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair Library permissions

Your question topic says you have all your photos backed up in iTunes. If so they are on your computer. When you get your new phone you can sync those photos from your computer to your phone.

A client gave me he's mini Ipad wifi as a gift.
It has all his information:photos, music, contacts, etc. I also took some photos that are in camera roll. I would like to erase everithing and make it totaly mine but don't want to loose my photos and his music which is very good. How should I do???Resetting the settings will reset things like the wallpaper to the default. It wont remove the apps or music.
As the previous poster said, the apps and music will be tied to the previous owners Apple ID, you'll need the password to update the apps and remain authorized to play the music.
I would suggest taking your stuff off (the camera pictures) then erasing all content and settings so the iPad is like new. For privacy reasons alone I would erase the device. I realise you want to keep the music, but since you haven't paid for it (it was purchased under someone elses ID) then it isn't yours to keep, you'll need to write down the tracks and purchase them under your ID. -
I cannot find my photos or contacts. Help how do I get them back after a iclound backup was done due to needed to get a new iphone. HELP
I believe I had leopard and I was having issues getting errors of system not being supported. I contacted Apple and was advised I needed to upgrade to snow leopard. My laptop is from 2009 and I haven't done anything to it till now. The apple rep also stated I should do a fresh install when putting snow leopard on so my laptop would run faster. Apple rep told me to get a external hard drive to put my info on it so the fresh install would reset everything to like it was brand new. I had someone help me with getting everything on the EHD.. doing the right format and such and then once that was done I put in the CD for snow leopard and hit install. Which brings me to now, with everything but my pictures. I have the EHD plugged in... now what? What do I do? I have looked in the EHD in iphoto and it was all standard images *not my pictures but images of a check mark or an arrow again not actual pictures. I don't see a folder pictures and i looked for images and found nothing. I have Applications, Included Free Designs, Library, System, User Guides and Information and Users, those are my options and non of those have a "pictures"

I need to move my photos and contacts from my old iPhone 3 to my new iPhone 4. When I open iTunes, it is not letting me sync my old phone so I can back up to my new phone. Any thoughts?
Buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, install it, and run Software Update twice.

I feel as though I am forced into repairing the iphone before I can backup the information (photos, videos, contacts). If the apple ID on the device is the same as the one on my iMac I do not understand why I have to unlock the iphone by typing in the 4 digit passcode. This is a little ******** as having the screen break seems to be the usual prpblem with the iphone, I want to be able to backup my files when I feel the obvious need to do so (eg. when it breaks)! I also believe I shouldn't have to use other apps for backing it up (which I obviously have to pay for).. I am rather angry with this issue.Okay folkes, you were right and I was wrong.. I admit it. But I was pretty mad though when I tryed to backup the last few contacts I needed for work and couldn't do so. Worst things are when something gets broken (by me or whatever) when there is an emergency. I needed the contacts off of that phone real fast and couldn't do it, thats what got me real mad. And btw I am a Russian living in Moscow and instead of having an official Apple store we have shopes called ReStore who resell apple devices with ridiculous prices, same thing with the repairs. It is cheaper to sometimes buy a new iphone then repair an old one.. So there.. but I repaired it and now happy again with my apple device.. Also I know the itunes and icloud are free and I do back it up, this time however I couldn't use them and had to try the iphone extractor app, which is not free. There.. You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.

Note this only applies to photos taken with the iPhone. Any photos you previously added to your iPhone using iTunes should be copied from old computer to new computer. -
Can I set "use facebook photo" for contacts by default?
When I edit a contact's photo, I can choose "use facebook photo" from the available options if there is a facebook profile linked to the contact. Is there a way to do this across ALL contacts, without having to edit each of my 300 contacts individually?
The issue I'm having is that old facebook photos from contacts added in iOS 5 are not updating anymore because the old photo stays as the contact's primary photo from the last time it was synced prior to facebook integration.
