Big trouble with my KT4 Ultra

I got trouble with my computer!
During install of Windows XP i got an error like this: Wrong syntax in row 285 in the .SIF file thats been using of the installation program, turn of your computer.
My hardware configuration:
MSI KT4 Ultra
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
2 x 256M DDR PC3200 (Twin Mos)
MSI Geforce 4 Ti 128M DDR (MS-8870)
Soundblaster Live 5.1
IBM Deskstar 20GB

My computer is up and running now, but with only one memory module!
After a test with memtest-86, it shows that i got one bad memory module. Thats why I have all this trouble.
This is what i read about the mainbord about memory, so it should work with 2 x 256M PC3200 memory.
* When FSB setting 166MHz the memroy only can
running at DDR333 mode.
* DDR400 memory support by MSI certified module only
* DDR400(PC3200) max. up to 2 DIMM slots.

I haven't got any more replies to my post "I'm having big trouble with my new mainboard" by Krelian 2003.09.13 at 05:25. Please help! I've been struggling with this for a LONG time. And now my computer won't boot at all! Sometimes the LED's in front of the computer lights up for half a second, and nothing more happens. The only sign of life is the green light in the LAN jack. It happened after I took the ide cable for my harddrive in and out of the mainboard. This is insane, how can that suddeny happen :O ?! I was asked by wonkanoby to post max amps for my PSU, I did, and I really need to know if I maybe need a new PSU, since he asked that. Can a new PSU solve all the problems mentioned in my previous posts? Everything was fine except that I couldn't get into Windows, before i tried another harddrive on my computer. How can that complicate things so much? I have tried going barebone, and taking out the cmos battery and setting the jumpers JBAT1, J10 and J11. I have also tried every suggestion I got. Please help! I really need to get this fixed!

Some power supplies or designed so that if there is a short or overload they shut them selfs off and some will not turn back on. Some have a relay that will click back on and work, some you have to cycle the power switch. Those that won't come back on will have to be replaced. I'm not saying that yours is that type as I have no way of telling. But if you have a friend who will loan you a good power supply you might try it. As someone else said just turning off the power will not darn all the power from some motherboards. To test this turn off your power supply than turn on the computer with the start botton. Mine will flash the lights and fans will start to spin than die. So every time you turn off computer to work on it. After turning off PSU hit the start botton to drian any power left in it before working on it. Also do this after unplugging it just to make sure.

Overclocking with MSI KT4 ULTRA

I'm currently overclocking my XP 1600+ Palomino to just under an XP 2200+. My Idle temp is 39C and 47C at Load. My CPU is still locked and I'm running at 167FSB x 10.5 = 1758Mhz / 334 Mhz DDR. So far this is the highest stable overclock I am able to get with my current config. I want to get up to atleast a FSB of 180 - 185 to give my GeIL 512MB DDR433 PLATINIUM some sort of challenge, but I can't get the board to post at anything higher than 168FSB. Is it my board topping out or my CPU? What kind of overclocks is everyone else getting with their KT4 ULTRAs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks )

I have reached 209FSB!!! Thats overkill!
And im running my system now on the min level x9 Multippel.
And that wil give me a damn strong and powerfull system, I can overklock it to reach the MHz frequence to but i dont right now, i must get a new mobo first, MSI is only !!!

What the heck is up with my KT4 Ultra-sr

hey guys/girls, just wondering if somebody can help me with some issues i'm having with my Kt4 Ultra-sr that i just bought 3 days ago.
First problem i'm having is that i can only get the raid to detect 1 drive on IDE 3... i have tried various configurations and nothing works.. either one drive or the other but never both.
Second problem is that every once in a while i get a high pitch beep coming from my system....i don't know what it is..i used to have a Gigabyte 7dxr witrh a 1.4TB with 512 ddr and i didn't get any beeping.. i upgraded to the Kt4Ultra-sr with a xp1900+, one 512 stick of samsung ddr kt400... and i'm getting a beeping.. i thought at first it might be the power supply but i just bought it 3-4 months ago.. it is a SH Power 365 Watt dual fan. ?(

There are plenty of reviews around on MSI's mobo as well as the too few others that are out there at the moment.
This issue is pretty well common to all the mobo manufacturers for the time being as it is a Serial ATA issue, not a mobo issue. Have a look at Tom's Hardware Guide or amdmb.com, interesting reading.

Big troubles with FTP upload since upgrade to leopard

Hello out there,
I made an upgrade from tiger to leopard 3 weeks ago (10.5.7) on my iMac (Intel - early 2006). Since this time I Have big troubles with ftp upload.
I'm using Cyberduck as FTP client and it worked very well before but since the upgrade it starts quick and falls down to a view kb after a view seconds. Sometimes it stops completely.
Target Server is checked and working well. Also the ISP is fine (tested with a windows machine).
As it is important for my business (photographer) I would appreciate if somebody can give me a quick hint how to solve this problem.

I am also experiencing this problem, but only (so far) with one hosting company of the many I FTP into (web designer). The symptoms are exactly as reported above. Files initially start uploading fine, then slow to a crawl and stall. This is the same regardless of FTP software. Error reports say the server is not responding.
This problem is the same using my daughter's computer (also running 10.5.7), but my son (being my son) hasn't updated his OS since 10.5.5 and I encounter NO problems whatsoever FTPing from his machine, nor from a PC.
It's only the uploads that seem to cause a problem. Communicating with the server to download, rename, move or delete files presents no issues.
(In trying to track down where the problem was, I also discovered that the traceroute command to any site on both 10.5.5 and 10.5.7 stalls at the modem, though pings work fine as does tracert from the PC.)

Sata Raid problems with MSI KT4 Ultra Via kt400 chipset

ok i am having major problems setting up my sata raid in my brothers msi KT4 Ultra via KT 400 chipset
it comes up with my irq settings are wrong
my hard drives are WD 120 GB 7200rpms SATA - sold my mobo asus A7N8X - Delux and used my bros mobo above but just cant get them to work if ne one has ne idea on how to fix it (bios is still factory default do i have too flash it to get it too work etc)

Urgent help with MSI KT4 Ultra

off my folks yesterday i got...
MSI KT4 Ultra
512mb DDR333 PC2700
Athlon XP 2600+
Maxtor DiamondMax9 40gb HDD...
i thought i had it all setup right with the HDD in IDE1, DVD and CD-RW in IDE2 and floppy in the floppy bit...
at 1st the CPU cwas only clocking at 1250mhz, but then came here and sorted that prob..... (Sperad spectrum then adjusted the FSB to 166mhz ) then after that, when i go to boot up i got.... "no device connected to the Fasttrack controller...bios not installed" then browing through the forum i found how to "solve" that problem... ( disabled the Serial ATA thing, dont know if thats right .... ) but now i dont get that "bios not installed" line any more.... all i get is a flashing line in the top left of my screen....
so to sum up....all i get now is.... that flashing line......what could be goin wrong?

Big Trouble with iMovie

I recently upgraded to a new graphics card (ATI Radeon 800XT) to support an Apple 30 cineman display on my Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5.
All other applications (iPhoto, Freeway, Photoshop, Safari) seem to work fine. However, iMovie doesn't. The application opens from the dock and reads files, but I can not activate anything with a mouse click in the iMovie window. The elements in the window are totally nonresponsive. I can however, close, export and do other menu-driven things in the iMovie control bar.
Some things I've tried:
1. I deleted the iMovie preference files (I found only one)--no help
2. The imovie files in question are on an external drive--but that drive works fine and can be accessed directly
3. I was having trouble with frozen start-up when I first set up new graphics card. I figured the computer was trying to read the old graphic card's driver. I delted all items with the old graphics card name and that fixed the start-up problem. When I put these back in it does not seem to help the imovie problem
Any ideas?
Any chance that reinstalling iLife will help?

closed my eyes i touch to one big buttons on my locked mobile. Alarm paused,
and after 10 minutes ring, ring, ring. Is super, i do not oversleep.
In my NEW !!! Nokia X3 02: I sleep. Alarm ring. Whith closed my eyes touch to
display or any key. ALARM TOTAL OFF and i oversleep to my work. For snooze alarm
to 10 minutes i must open eyes, touch to one small button, write unlock key, send
unlock key and set snooze alarm on left corner my display. Oh my god !!!! This is
NEW mobile with NEW operation system for users ???? Please modify this function.
I must use my old NOKIA for this problem. X3 02 is fine mobile for users standard
mobile. This function is very bad and total degradate this mobile for me.
Please add users option for snooze touch to display or any keys to new firmware.

I've had the same problem ,and the only remedy (for me ) is to always set the date On 02/05/2011 and then set up the alarm on Am/pm setup
Only then the alarm works ,even on the next day i.e. 03/05/2011 the alarm doesn't work and show me message like "168 hours remaining" ,you always need to set it up to 02/05/2011 (Well i don't exactly know if that date will work for you ...but surely the soluution is to set it the a date it will work ...try many dates

I've bought myself a new mainboard, a MSI K7N2 Delta-L. I was having trouble getting Windows XP to detect my harddrive, but then I found out that I had to to first format my harddisk. But now I've got a new problem. I first tried a different harddrive on my computer, to see if something was wrong with my harddrive. But, there wasn't, since I tried my harddrive on another computer, and it worked. So, when I put my harddrive back into my computer, I can't enter BIOS. The screen either turns white, or some colors appear, and nothing happens. If I start without trying to enter BIOS, the same thing happens after detecting IDE devices (which takes an unusally long amount of time). When the white screen is up, my CD-rom tries to start my Windows XP cd several times, but, nothing happens. How can I get my computer to start normally, so that I can reinstall Windows and live happily ever after.

I pulled the jumper out of my harddisk, and it detected IDE devices extremely fast, as it should. But, I still can't enter BIOS. After detecting IDE devices, the screen turns white, but not for long, I could hear the harddrive booting, and the Windows XP boot screen appeared for about half a second. Then the computer restarted, and the same happened again.

Big trouble with "The application 'Firefox' can't be opened

I have a big problem. I cannot use firefox, either quit it or use this application. If I want use firefox than I get the Information "The Application firefox can't be opened -600". And also I cannot close my macbook Pro (alas it is a Retina) or trying reboot. It still stands and nothing changing on the desktop from the macbook. I have red some some problems with the probably solutions how can fix it, but I'm afraid about, that I would make a big mistake and destroy the macintosh Marverics System that I have.
Please. I need help !

This Step failed a lots of time. I tried everything in my mind. I tried to do this step you suggest me now, and nothing (some tries before) happened. What can I do to not have the message "the application firefox cannot be opened - 600" ? Its really **** that that happened now..
I tried to reboot - nothing changed
I tried quit the application - nothing changed
I tried to hold he "shut down" button - nothing has changed or has shut down
I tried go to system preferences/application/ and tried to trash the application - nothing changed, because the application is still working/or in use. And this s*** is really confusing me. Therefore I can not use firefox, not trash the application because it is in use, or either close the application to shut down or restart/reboot my macbook Pro.
Any other suggestions? If possible, than it would be very kindly.

Big trouble with missing (...) Folder

Hallo everybody
Just happily upgraded to 2.4 but...today I found out LR was showing as "Missing" (marked with "?") a folder that has been quite a long time located in the same position (internal HD) but more strange is that when I tried to relocate it trough the "Find missing folder" action, this is what happened:
- LR put all the pictures in Previous Import
- the folder that should have been relocated was still in the same position (without question mark), with same title, showing same pictures amount but...
- when I clicked on the folder, an empty screen came out with a notice "No photos in selected Folder" (file counter was displaying 236 files...)
To fix the whole thing to place the Folder in the right position, I had:
- to delete the Previous Import
- to delete the (empty) original folder
- to re-import the files
At the end, after a lot of struggling, I found I lost all the settings about the pictures (ratings, develop, etc) made at the time........
Can anybody tell me where did I go wrong?

today I had another mysterious (at least for me) behavior from LR.
I updated the location of a folder I already had on my catalog but when the folder moved in his new location some of the grid previews were not visible and were tagged with an exclamative mark; then they became visible when I clicked on them one by one (in grid view).
Shouldn't LR always retain the previews?
If I tried to enlarge them to Standard view before they were visible as grid I got a message "There was an error while working with this photo" and the standard view took some extra time to show up.
I also noticed that sometime I can't see previews of folders that have been a long time in my catalog.
What's wrong with my LR?

BIG Trouble with my iPod

When I press any buttons on my iPod it shows apple logo, and then show a sad iPod icon. I read that I should to restore it. When I connect my iPod to pc it didn't find iPod because iPod just restarting and shos low battery icon.
I also can put my iPod into disk mode. It show check icon and write text below ok to dissconnect, and when I connect iPod to pc with disk mode it began connecting, because it show icon when iPod connected to pc and writing text do not dissconect, by the trouble is that on the 7-10 second of connecting my iPod just restarted and show apple logo and then sad icon. So I can't connect iPod to pc, and I can't restore it with ipod updater software.
I think that in moment when pc in connecting must enable drive with iPod, my iPod just restarting. One more thing, then iPod getting on I can feel in my hand that iPod hard drive make some click , something like it go on some part of drive and go back again and again....
Please help me. What can I do with this kind of problem. Sorry for my english.
P.S. iPod 3gen with click wheel.

If an iPod has a folder with an exclamation point or is "sad", that typically means that its hard drive is out of place. Try this:
Tap your iPod firmly on either side several times with your hand. This may work to tap your iPod's hard drive back into its correct place. It actually has worked for a lot of people, so it isn't just a joke!

Big trouble with importing my .MOV files into any editing software.

I am new to the forum and i would like to ask you a really big question that has been bugging me for days now.
I have a Cannon 700D and i have CS 4 pro and Cyberlink Powerdirector 12. Both worked fine with any other video file, but when i tried to import a file originating from my cannon 700D camera both of the softwares stated that the files were either corrupted or not supported. The error message also stated that i should call the video provider to ask for an alternative video footage (which is me ). I tried having quick time installed so that it could install various other kinds of CODEC so that it could read and I have also tried switching the camera settings from PAL to NSTC. I would be really glad if anybody could give me an explanation and a detailed explanaiton on how to fix my problem. Thank you very much in advance.

Big trouble with syncing all infos over iTunes

First time ever since i have an iPhone (and iPod) i got a big problem who i can't solve at the moment.
Each time who i connect my iPhone 4 to iTunes i got the info, that my iPhone can't sync any informations on my iPhone, because syncing on my Mac is disabled. If i didn't enable it, i can't sync my calendar, contacts and mail-acounts.
Two buttons: Yes / No. If i click on yes, the next message will popup. Syncing cannot be enabled on this computer.
Two buttons: Overwrite / OK.
Booth are didn't solve the problem.
I try to reinstall iTunes 10 (including mobile sync) and restarting my iMac, but the problem still exist.
I noticed to, that i can't start iSync...
Has anyone an idea what i can do?

It was something around iSync and the sync-manager. I got a hint on macrumors.com who you can found here:

Look at the second post after the one who i linked from the user "valerina". I only delete the pref.file and i check the keychain (without any problems). After that iSync work and i can sync my iPhone to. Only the Mail sync is't work at the moment, but I can life with that and I'm sure that i will found a solution to for that.
+1. There is no need to log in as ROOT about removing files if you are administrator+
+2. You need just to trush the file, named com.apple.syncserver.plist. It is inside Users/'Your username'/Library/Preferences+
+3. It is not bad idea to repair with First Aid the Keychain and to Clear the cash using /Applications/iSync/Preferences...+
+4. Now You can start sync with Mobile me.+
+If You still have problems:+
+1. Go to MobileMe and revoke your certificate and password+
+2. Go to iChat and take another certificate+
+3. Go to Mobileme preference pane and log out+
+4. Go to Airport app and change the password+
+5. Go to MobileMe preference pane again and+
+5.1. Log in+
+5.2. Turn on the Back to My Mac+
+5.3. Unsign your username from syncing with Mobile me+
+6. Try to sync+
