Big troubles with loading Sun Java on my laptop,

I can download Jre-1_~1.exx 16291424 this Java download from Java, only it won't load on my computer laptop, I have a IBM Thinkpad that also has 128 bits of memory, and is running Windows 98, and Internet Explorer 6.0, I keep getting this error all the time, the error is 1722, there is a problem with this Windows Installing Package. I really need to install this java program or else I can't go to a lot of places. Please someone help me out.

I haven't got any more replies to my post "I'm having big trouble with my new mainboard" by Krelian 2003.09.13 at 05:25. Please help! I've been struggling with this for a LONG time. And now my computer won't boot at all! Sometimes the LED's in front of the computer lights up for half a second, and nothing more happens. The only sign of life is the green light in the LAN jack. It happened after I took the ide cable for my harddrive in and out of the mainboard. This is insane, how can that suddeny happen :O ?! I was asked by wonkanoby to post max amps for my PSU, I did, and I really need to know if I maybe need a new PSU, since he asked that. Can a new PSU solve all the problems mentioned in my previous posts? Everything was fine except that I couldn't get into Windows, before i tried another harddrive on my computer. How can that complicate things so much? I have tried going barebone, and taking out the cmos battery and setting the jumpers JBAT1, J10 and J11. I have also tried every suggestion I got. Please help! I really need to get this fixed!

Some power supplies or designed so that if there is a short or overload they shut them selfs off and some will not turn back on. Some have a relay that will click back on and work, some you have to cycle the power switch. Those that won't come back on will have to be replaced. I'm not saying that yours is that type as I have no way of telling. But if you have a friend who will loan you a good power supply you might try it. As someone else said just turning off the power will not darn all the power from some motherboards. To test this turn off your power supply than turn on the computer with the start botton. Mine will flash the lights and fans will start to spin than die. So every time you turn off computer to work on it. After turning off PSU hit the start botton to drian any power left in it before working on it. Also do this after unplugging it just to make sure.

Does anyone have SSL working with the Sun Java System App Server PE?

We have been having problems (to say the least) getting SSL to work with the Sun Java Application Server 8.1 Platform Edition.
We have a signed certificate from VeriSign and have it imported correctly, but when you test it by going to https://localhost:8182/ (note that 8182 is the port set up for SSL) you get a warning mesage saying that the certificate cannot be verified. When you view the certificate you see that it is the one that got automatically generated for you by the app server and not the one we purchased from VeriSign.
So, I was just wondering if anyone out there has gotten this to work and if so, what document did you follow to tell yoiu how it was done!

Big troubles with FTP upload since upgrade to leopard

Hello out there,
I made an upgrade from tiger to leopard 3 weeks ago (10.5.7) on my iMac (Intel - early 2006). Since this time I Have big troubles with ftp upload.
I'm using Cyberduck as FTP client and it worked very well before but since the upgrade it starts quick and falls down to a view kb after a view seconds. Sometimes it stops completely.
Target Server is checked and working well. Also the ISP is fine (tested with a windows machine).
As it is important for my business (photographer) I would appreciate if somebody can give me a quick hint how to solve this problem.

I am also experiencing this problem, but only (so far) with one hosting company of the many I FTP into (web designer). The symptoms are exactly as reported above. Files initially start uploading fine, then slow to a crawl and stall. This is the same regardless of FTP software. Error reports say the server is not responding.
This problem is the same using my daughter's computer (also running 10.5.7), but my son (being my son) hasn't updated his OS since 10.5.5 and I encounter NO problems whatsoever FTPing from his machine, nor from a PC.
It's only the uploads that seem to cause a problem. Communicating with the server to download, rename, move or delete files presents no issues.
(In trying to track down where the problem was, I also discovered that the traceroute command to any site on both 10.5.5 and 10.5.7 stalls at the modem, though pings work fine as does tracert from the PC.)

DW MX trouble with loading PDF files

I'm using Dreamweaver MX on an XP Pro machine and have
trouble loading pdf documents to my web pages. It cooperates
intermittently. I'm using a virtual pdf printer to convert word
documents to pdf, then saving them to my website folder, selecting
the linking text on my page in DW, using the link box to select my
pdf document, then saving the page and putting files in both the
local and remote views.
This method has worked for me before, and now it's not. Does
anyone know of a reason for this? The documents are saved
correctly, as I can get them to open as pdf outside of dreamweaver
and my webpage...when I click on the link I created online I get
"page not found."

I am having the same trouble with Dreamweaver MX 2004 on
Mac-OSX since I switched from MacOs9. I still have no solution .
When I want to export a .pdf file I get a message saying <ftp
error>.
I never had problems on Mac Os 9 and it started when using
the first version of Mac Os X. I am presently using mac Os 10.4.10
and I am still unable to transfer .pdf files, no matter whether I
use acrobat or the Mac system to produce the.pdf file.
When I try the page on my computer the link to the.pdf file
functions allright, but not on the server as the file cannot be
transfered to it by the software.
Does someone know how to solve this ?

Firefox will not load my gmail, cleaned history, still will not load. I switched to goggle Chrome and I have no trouble with loading all programs. What is going on?

All of a sudden it will not load my gmail. Restarted my computer, cleaned up history still not working on gmail. recently updated Firefox a few days ago, but I have not had trouble until today with loading gmail. Worked earlier.

The problems are getting worse. I think I will have to give up on Firefox and go with the Google browser. No problems with IE just firefox and I can't take it anymore.

Now it's not understanding what the +break+ statement does that's the problem, it's the nested +for+ loops they've used to demonstrate it that is, and in particularly the code.arrayOfInts[i].length;Now, could someone please enlighten me as to what this statement returns to be evaluated against the variable +j+.
For instance does it simply return the length of the array +arrayOfInts+ and if so why is it referencing a specific element within the array denoted by the variable +i+ ? Also the array is multidimensional when it's declared and initialized and yet it's treated as a regular array in the code above? Why doesn't that throw an error?
Any help walking me through this piece of code would be fantastic. Thank you.

It's just an array - an array consisting of three things in order: {32, 87, 3, 589}, {12, 1076, 2000, 8}, and {622, 127, 77, 955}. It just so happens that these elements are also arrays.
Because it's just an array arrayOfInts also has a length. The length is three because there's three elements. It doesn't matter that each of the elements has a length 4, arrayOfInts has length 3.
In this particular array the elements are also arrays, so it makes sense to ask what their length is. For instance, the last one, {622, 127, 77, 955}, is just arrayOfInts[2] and it has length 4. We can refer to its length as arrayOfInts[2].length and write code like:

Trouble with loading photos!

I have two problems with loading and hoping someone can help me in the forum.
1) After importing new photos to LR they all come in a mixed order and not in the order they where photographed. I have tried to rename them first in Bridge but with no success.
2) When the photos are loaded in lightroom it takes a terrible long time for each photo to be charged. Seams like every photo needs to be loaded again.
I use a PC and just bought LR but have experience of LR before with an earlier version. Use a Canon 5D mark II.

Managed to sort the photos in the right order!!!
To make the photos charge faster I changed it to 1/1 and I feel it loads a bit faster but still slow in my opinion.
It now takes about 10 sec to load the photo ( in develop ) instead of 20 sec and wonder if this is normal or not. Should it not load faster !?
I have heard that if I save the catalog in a certain place its supposed to charge faster but can´t remember where and can that be the answer.

Issue with using Sun Java Proxy Server

We are trying to access the WebService using the Sun Proxy Server.
When I access the WebService through proxy ,I find the error message in proxy error log as

So ,we found out that if we dont use the proxy server,then the WebService is working properly,but if we start using the proxy server,we are encountering HTTP400 error.

Big trouble with my KT4 Ultra

During install of Windows XP i got an error like this: Wrong syntax in row 285 in the .SIF file thats been using of the installation program, turn of your computer.

My computer is up and running now, but with only one memory module!
After a test with memtest-86, it shows that i got one bad memory module. Thats why I have all this trouble.
This is what i read about the mainbord about memory, so it should work with 2 x 256M PC3200 memory.

Big Trouble with iMovie

I recently upgraded to a new graphics card (ATI Radeon 800XT) to support an Apple 30 cineman display on my Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5.
All other applications (iPhoto, Freeway, Photoshop, Safari) seem to work fine. However, iMovie doesn't. The application opens from the dock and reads files, but I can not activate anything with a mouse click in the iMovie window. The elements in the window are totally nonresponsive. I can however, close, export and do other menu-driven things in the iMovie control bar.
Some things I've tried:
1. I deleted the iMovie preference files (I found only one)--no help
2. The imovie files in question are on an external drive--but that drive works fine and can be accessed directly
3. I was having trouble with frozen start-up when I first set up new graphics card. I figured the computer was trying to read the old graphic card's driver. I delted all items with the old graphics card name and that fixed the start-up problem. When I put these back in it does not seem to help the imovie problem
Any ideas?
Any chance that reinstalling iLife will help?

I have any big problem with alarm snooze function in my new NOKIA X3 02 mobile.
Please read this situation:
On my old mobile Nokia Classic: I sleep, sleep. Is 5:30, alarm ring, ring. Whith
closed my eyes i touch to one big buttons on my locked mobile. Alarm paused,
and after 10 minutes ring, ring, ring. Is super, i do not oversleep.
In my NEW !!! Nokia X3 02: I sleep. Alarm ring. Whith closed my eyes touch to
display or any key. ALARM TOTAL OFF and i oversleep to my work. For snooze alarm
to 10 minutes i must open eyes, touch to one small button, write unlock key, send
unlock key and set snooze alarm on left corner my display. Oh my god !!!! This is
NEW mobile with NEW operation system for users ???? Please modify this function.
I must use my old NOKIA for this problem. X3 02 is fine mobile for users standard
mobile. This function is very bad and total degradate this mobile for me.
Please add users option for snooze touch to display or any keys to new firmware.

I've had the same problem ,and the only remedy (for me ) is to always set the date On 02/05/2011 and then set up the alarm on Am/pm setup
Only then the alarm works ,even on the next day i.e. 03/05/2011 the alarm doesn't work and show me message like "168 hours remaining" ,you always need to set it up to 02/05/2011 (Well i don't exactly know if that date will work for you ...but surely the soluution is to set it the a date it will work ...try many dates

What's up with the Sun Java coding convention

I thought Sun leading the Java development should also be a better example on the Java coding convention.
They do publish a coding convention guide, I believe. But looking at Java core library's source code, so long, coding convention! :(
Just looked at ArrayList.java source for the version 1.4.2. There are method names like RangeCheck(). Shouldn't a method start with lowercase? Shouldn't a method be verb first like checkRange() instead?
And there are statements like this all over the place:

man, I thought this golden version of the Java Foundation Library code should be almost perfect by this time now. :(

I don't worry about a byte here or there. It might sound like heresy, but Moore's Law makes memory and disk space cheaper and more plentiful all the time. I think maintainability and readability trumps being miserly about bytes in my thinking these days. ;)
Spare me the "inefficiency" lectures. I know - performance matters. The 80/20 rule says that byte won't be killer.
It's too bad that Sun doesn't follow their own conventions. Don't they do code review there?
Joshua Bloch didn't follow the standard? Too bad - he did a great job on the collections design. Maybe he delegated it to a younger coder and missed that during the code review. Yeah, that's it! ;)
