Yael, you have found there a great tutorial and I do not see you I could give you a more detailed approach than the one found in this "Axis Hello World Example".
The only step I think is useless is the first one in the Eclipse walk through, for the rest, just follow the steps and you will end up with a running web service and a running client.
I notice you have not followed the tutorial already: your project is named "axis" and not "axis-ws-service" or "axis-ws-client".
Maybe start over and follow the steps this time?

  • Creating Web Service in Eclipse with Axis and Tomcat

    Hi I'm quite new to web services. But I got a compiled class that i want to create a web service of. Since this class is compiled and lies in a package I can't just use the WTP and create a Buttom Up Web Service. So I created av wrapper class to this class to see if that would solve the problem, but i still get error messages that it's not JAX-RPC compliant. I've decompiled the class file I want to create a web service of and made a wrapper class with an interface around this class.
    package org.ejbca.core.protocol.ocsp;
    import org.bouncycastle.ocsp.*;
    public class OCSPResponse
    public OCSPResponse()
    resp = null;
    fnr = null;
    httpReturnCode = 200;
    errCode = 0;
    public OCSPResponse(OCSPResp ocspresp)
    resp = null;
    fnr = null;
    httpReturnCode = 200;
    errCode = 0;
    resp = ocspresp;
    public int getHttpReturnCode()
    return httpReturnCode;
    public void setHttpReturnCode(int code)
    httpReturnCode = code;
    public int getErrorCode()
    return errCode;
    public void setErrorCode(int code)
    errCode = code;
    public String getFnr()
    return fnr;
    public void setFnr(String fnr)
    this.fnr = fnr;
    public OCSPResp getResp()
    return resp;
    public void setResp(OCSPResp resp)
    this.resp = resp;
    public int getStatus()
    Something
    private OCSPResp resp;
    private String fnr;
    private int httpReturnCode;
    private int errCode;
    OCSPResp is an object from boncycastle, as i found out one of the problems is that OCSPResponse is a non Non-Built-In Data Type and don't just contain bulit-in datatypes.
    So can anybody give me a detaild input on how to solve this problem, including some hints on how to create a wrapper incase I've done something wrong.

  • Eclipse and Tomcat questions

    Hi everyone,
    Lastnight I setup Eclipse to work with Tomcat, which works very good, but there are something I don't understand.
    1. My files are put in my workspace in (C:\Documents and Settings\...etc)
    How does Tomcat (which is installed in C:\Tomcat) know that it should get the files from my workspace directory?
    Because in the C:\Tomcat directory I can't find any .XML file that refers to my workspace directory.
    2. How I developed my servlets till now, I had some other free editor, I needed to compile my servlets then restart Tomcat and then test it.
    With Eclipse + Tomcat plugin, all I need to do save the servlet and apparently the source code is compiled automatically. All I need to do is refresh the servlet in my browsers (very handy and easy to develop like this). But my question is, does Eclipse compile the servlet automatically after saving? And why doesn't tomcat have to be restarted?
    Just a few questions to understand it a bit better, I'm really happy with this setup as it makes everything a lot easier.
    Regards,
    Steven.

  • Preinstalled apache, apache2 and tomcat

    Hello,
    I'm setting up a Sun Fire V490 running solaris 10 for use as a web server. I need to have Apache httpd version 2 and tomcat version 4.x to run.
    So I found that the machine comes with apache httpd 2 preinstalled and also apache httpd 1 with fully integrated tomcat engine.
    But as stated I need to have apache httpd 2 with tomcat running!
    Apart from configuring the system to run httpd version 2 instead of version 1 by use of svcadm, I'm wondering how to get a solid solution to also have tomcat running. Ok I could simply install a tomcat version from apache.org, but I would like to ensure that this is the right solution for e.g. future upgrades.
    So if anybody has got some more knowledge but this issue, I would be happy about letting me know!
    Thanks, Raimund

    Hey, I came into the same question while configuring tomact on Sun server.
    So, what did you finally do...........?

  • Netbeans and Tomcat

    Hello all.
    I have some confusion using Netbeans (v6.1) and Tomcat (v6).
    I have developed a Website that uses a MySql DB. The Website execute on the port 8080 with a DB named "Dev" and in a context call "/Dev" so I can access my application with "http://localhost:8080/Dev/". It works perfectly and everything is beautiful. I think it runs under the Tomcat_base that Netbeans includes (under /home/user/.netbeans/...).
    Then I want to put this Website in a kind of Production environment. So I copy the built .war to the "webapps" of my Tomcat (under /usr/local/tomcat...) and start the Tomcat server. I configured this Tomcat to work on the port 80 and in a context called "/Prod" so I should be able to run the application with "http://localhost/Prod/".
    The question is: I have different Databases for both environments (I mean different DB running on the same Mysql), so I don't know how to do the Dev-Prod change or configure it in an elegant way. I think I can just develop the Website in Development and before copying the .war file to Production, change both the path and the DB name in the "context.xml" file, and then build the WAR. I guess it must be a better way to do it, but I don't know it.
    Can someone give me some advice please?
    I appreciate your help, thank you very much.
    Sarah.

    I believe this is the way to do it:
    If your context is called MyProject, I imagine under tomcat/conf/catalina/localhost there is a file called MyProject.xml. You put configuration information such as database connection info in this file. This file should not be within the war file so when you alter MyProject and deploy it, it doesn't alter this file. In Eclipse IDE, you do not give it permission to alter this file (the option is a checkbox in one of the menu items), note: let it auto-generate it the first time, then yurn off that feature. Your production enviornment will have a different MyProject.xml file than your development enviornemnt. I suggest changing the file to read-only in both production and development so it doesn't accidently get altered.

  • IIS 6.0 and Tomcat 5.0.30, how to enable anonymous access?

    Dear All,
    Thanks to Adam Krouskop's great guide (2003) i got IIS 6 and Tomcat 5 working together using the isapi connector. But.... IIS won't give anonymous access to my Tomcat web-apps.
    When i go to http://localhost/jsp-examples it pops up a login window, when I enter my administrator username and password it will log me on and everything works fine. But how do i enable anonymous access??
    This might not be best place to post this question but I know there's people out here who know. Thanks in advance.
    Greetings from Holland. T.

    This is probably way too late to help you out but I just ran into the same problem with IIS 6.0. The thing that is missing from the connector instructions is that it does not tell you to add the DLL as a web service extension. Here is how to do that after adding the ISAPI filter:
    1) In the IIS manager, right-click on Web Service Extensions. Choose "Add a new Web service extension...".
    2) Type in a meaninful name for the extension, like "tomcat".
    3) Click the "Add" button.
    4) Type the full pathname for the isapi_redirect.dll file or click "Browse" button to find it.
    5) Check the "Set extension status to Allowed" checkbox.
    6) Click "OK" to add the new extension. Verify by clicking on Web Service Extensions folder and seeing the new one in the right-hand pane.
    7) Now go ahead and restart IIS as in the original instructions.
    Hope this helps someone in the future...

  • BiBeans's internationalization issue in Weblogic and Tomcat

    Dear,
    It seems that bibeans components such as Toolbar, Crosstab etc in my application can display localized labels only in OC4J, but when I depoly the application into the Tomcat or Weblogic, the labels are only displayed in English, even thought I set the locale of such compenents to China(for example, I write such code: crosstab.setLocale(Locale.China)). Can you tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    I think this is a question for either Tomcat support or BEA, as you correctly point out using Oracle's OC4J environment the application works correctly. Therefore, only Tomcat Support or BEA can answer why this is occuring as I presume this would affect any JSP application not just BI Beans?
    I have searched our support database and cannot find any related issues in this area. So you might also want to consider opening a TAR with Oracle Support.
    Hope this helps

  • Communication problem between NetBeans and Tomcat

    hi!
    i got a quite mysterious problem. here is what happens:
    - i start NetBeans 5.5.1 (the first time)
    - i want to debug my JSF-Project, the Debugger starts
    - After a few seconds the debugger waits for tomcat (it sais: "Waiting for Tomcat...") and tomcat starts
    - Again after a few seconds the tomcat-debugger-output sais "Tomcat startet in 3333 ms".
    okay.
    when i enter http://localhost:8084/ in my browser i get the tomcat homepage, so the server has definitely started! But nothing happens in NetBeans and nothing happens with my project....
    In the lower-right corner i see this blue working-bar that sais "deploying project" but nothing happens. The Project-Debugger-Output still sais "Waiting for Tomcat..." but nothing happens...
    And after something around 3 minutes (i guess it's a timeout) i get the error "Starting of Tomcat failed." But is HAS started, i can login to the Administration-Area in my browser!
    so i guess there is a communication problem between netbeans an tomcat. Netbeans waits for a message from tomcat but tomcat doesn't send it..or netbeans doesn't understand it.
    But the story goes on:
    When i press the debug-button a second time it takes only a few seconds till i get the message: "Tomcat server port 8084 already in use". OF COURSE! Because Tomcat has already startet and can't be stoped by NetBeans.
    i'm trying to solve this problem for 4 days now, so i would be very happy if anyone has an idea where to start/continue the search...
    thanks,
    flo.

  • Problem launching a jsp page with eclipse and tomcat

    Hi,
    I have just started using eclipse and tomcat for creating dynamic web pages. I tried to launch a jsp page after starting the tomcat server with the URL: http://locahost:8080/HelloWorld/, an error page was displayed as below:
    HTTP Status 404 -/
    type Status report
    message /_
    description The requested resource (-) is not available
    Apache Tomcat/5.5.17
    I didn't get any error at the console and when i just typed http://localhost, a pop up menu saying that the connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost.
    I'm not sure what is the problem here. Could it be the permssion to the localhost is not granted by the system as the eclipse IDE is running using linux?
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks.

    spec="1.0+"
    codebase="http://host:8080/Official/"
    href="Application.jnlp">
    <information>
    <title>Application release 0.10</title>
    <vendor> XXXX </vendor>
    <homepage href="/"/>
    <description>Application</description>
    <description kind="short">My Application</description>
    <icon href="Icon.gif"/>
    </information>
    <security>
    <all-permissions/>
    </security>
    <resources>
    <j2se version="1.3"/>
    <jar href="Jar1.jar"/>
    <jar href="Jar2.jar"/>
    <jar href="Jar3.jar"/>
    <jar href="Jar4.jar"/>

  • I forgot my Apple ID security question answers and cannot contact iTunes support by phone. The only way I can ask for help is via email. How can I make that happen?             Thanks

    Hi! So I haven't used iTunes in a few months but I just got an iTunes gift card and want to make a purchase. iTunes redeemed it just fine but now that I want to make a purchase I am having problems. I can't remember my security question answers and iTunes is requesting them. I have two other verified emails but the are NOT rescue emails. I can't contact iTunes over the phone because my phone lines are out and are going to be out for a long time. The only way I can contact them is by email. How can I do this? Is there an easy way to just reset all my security questions? Please help a girl out. I just want my music!
    Thanks so much
