Billing based on % of the project done

Hi all!
Let's see if you guys can help me out with some ideas here:
I need the billing as follows:
Every sales order comes from a project and generates a purchase order which account assignment category is "Project" (the same project that trigered the sales order).
This project can take 2, 3...months, but they want to bill every month.
So how can i have a billing process based on the percentage done of this project. For example: i create a bill for the 20 % of my sales order the first month, one for the 40 % the next month and so on.

Progress Billing Invoices in OM with Project Reference ?

Can anyone help me on this Question,
Version - > 11i
Sales Company -> Different OU and LE.
Manufacturing Plant -> Different OU and LE.
Billing from OM to AR.
Their will be progress billing invoices generated from manufacturing plant aganist sales company,Manufacturing Plant will create project and attach it to Sales-orders,Work Orders and Purchase Orders.And track the cost against their project.They are plaining to capture(Material Cost,Labor Cost and Other Expenses) and invoice(OM to AR) it to sales company after shipment.
Example : Sales Order with 50000 Euro's
Jan - Invoice - 15000 Euro's
Feb - Invoice - 20000 Euro's
Mar - Invoice - 15000 Euro's
How to generate multiple invoices without actual shipment in OM for Progress Bill ?
If they meet any exception(Country Exempt from Progress Billing) then only single invoice generated ?Can we generate it automatically ?
Can we recongnise deferred revenue in OM or AR using COGS account ?
Can we capture labor,other expense in COGS account ? How we need to do this ?

I had the same scenario at one of our client, oracle standard functionality doesnt support the requirement
in order to have the project visible at Order Mangement, project mfg to be enabled and provide project parameters for the specific Inventory organization against that project, it makes the project available for that warehouse in that OU
order type should be off ship only so that order doesnt process to AR
Ensure a Custom program to create shipment (sale order issue transaction reflected in Inventory :COGS) to process to projects
with work.work based rule for the project creates Invoice and interfaces to AR
Ensure that Invoice is done at Project Organization if your business requirement is have accounts dervied (Invoicing) at Project Org level

Logic won't open the projects.

I can't get the projects to open. I am on chap. 4 of the apple tutorial and today the projects won't load. It worked fine yesterday.
I trashed my preferences, that didn't help. Logic shows on the menu bar, but the projects don't open and I have to force quit to try again. Help! Using Mac Pro, OS X (10.6.8)

The first things to try would be to make sure you have the most recent update for LE9, trash your .plist file (which you've already done), and repair permissions with Disk Utility.
I also want to point out that there are a number of ways to open Logic files:
1) From Logic's menu bar: File > Open Recent
2) From Logic's Browser tab in the Media window on the right
3) Double-clicking the Logic project file
4) Dragging the Logic project file to the Logic icon on your dock
I've heard of people having problems opening files using method #1 who could still open them by using one of the other methods.

Can the project status be influenced by billing plan in sales order?

I am facing the following problem:
I linked the WBS Element to a sales order billing plan (in header: account assignment).
Now, is there a possibility to prevent changing the status of the project to close technically, while there are still some invoices of the billing in the sales order not billed?
I want to make sure that a project can only be closed once all the invoices related to the project were billed.

Hello Maike,
I have different view here:
System status is set to FNBL automatically when all the items in the sales orders are billed. So user does not really need to set it.
TECO is a status which should follow FNBL generally speaking. And it has to be put manually.
Now, if the requirement is to throw an error when FNBL or TECO is put manually if not all the sales orders items are billed- it can be done by using validation.
A validation can be activated which will check for any open billing item for that WBS when status is set to TECO. If there is any, it will throw an error while saving WBS with TECO.So it will not allow to set TECO. T code for validation is OPSI.

I have uploaded initial stock and Goods issue for the projects that are open in the legacy system.
I want to know how to do billing through FI as i have done PGI for the open projects in the legacy system,i upload the materials through MB1A .

HELP! "There are 309 files that don't belong in the project"

I needed to reformat my OS, so I backed up all my data onto DVD+RW's. (Verbatim brand.) including my imovies. I copied the entire "blahblah.iMovieProject" folder onto the DVD, then copied it back onto the drive after the reinstall. But now when I click on the project, it prompts me about this:
"There are 309 files that don't belong in the project"
and then this:
"There are 160 stray clip files in the project folder. Would you like to put them on the clips pane?"
After I click on "Leave Files Alone" for both of them, (versus move to trash, and Move files to clips pane, respectively), The project opens completely BLANK.
Oh great. Please inform. Am I out of luck?
Oh, btw, it also created like 10 versions of each photo in the "Media" folder. ick. what happened?...

Also, one more thing! Now that this has happened, even after I quit and restart the computer, upon opening the application, instead of starting out with a brand new project, the same prompts appear, and then leaves me with that seemingly corrupt project which is blank.

Yes. A couple of ways that might work.
First Way
What you need to do is load one of your hd clips in the viewer and edit into a new HD sequence. Does it display correctionly?
OK, select the clip in the hd timeline and copy (command-c). Now go to the HD sequence with the material that's distorted. Select all (command-a) and paste attributes (option-v) and choose basic motion and distort. That should maek things work. What won't work is anything that you've adjusted as far as basic motion or distort in your PAL sequence. That I'm pretty sure you'll have to redo.
Second Way.
Choose your original PAL sequence and do a Media Manage changing the sequence preset to the appropriate HD paramenters with the media offline. You then should be able to reconnect these clips with your original HD media.

I recently had some 8mm film transferred to DVD. I am trying to edit the film clips using Premier Elements 4.0. so I can reburn the films on a single BluRay disc. Some of the film clips copy into the project but others don't. I tried copying the VOB filed onto my hard drive and then changing the file extensions on the VOB files to MPEG but this was no help. Some of the VOB files contain numerous film clips but my software does not appear to be able to recognize them as such. I need to know if replacing my old Premier Elements with the new Version 13 would solve this problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What do you have now.....
What computer operating system do you have?
We can go into the finer points of source and your intentions, but for now it would appear that you are using SD 4:3 source media to get to a HD 16:9 result. Lots to discuss in this regard.
What was given to you on the DVD disc? DVD-VIDEO 4:3 or something else?
If DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, you should expect to find on the disc a folder named VIDEO_TS. That is your target for your video files.
If you were given a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then all you want from it are the video files, specifically
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, and so on through that series until possibly getting to
VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on. How many files you have beyond the VTS_01_1.VOB file will depend on the size of the DVD-VIDEO.
Does the above scenario apply to you?
The alternative might be someone giving a DVD disc (data disc) which contains just the VTS files mentioned which were copied from
the VIDEO_TS Folder. So, you do not get the whole VIDEO_TS Folder, just the essential video files. Does this scenario apply to you.
I see no need to replace your Premiere Elements 4 with a later version unless you have a huge project and need a later version that will be a 64 bit application running specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Consider...Premiere Elements 4 and if you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD....
1. Place the DVD disc in the burner tray
2. Open Premiere Elements 4 and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard (assuming you are working in a NTSC setup)
3. Go to
Get Media
"DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader"
"Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" and its Advanced dialog.
Set the Source in the latter dialog for the drive which has your DVD disc inserted in its tray
You should see your VTS_01_1.VOB thumbnail in the "Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" Advanced dialog.
With this VOB selected, click on Get Media to get the file from there into the project.
Should work fine.
Complications may be involved if the people who processed your footage gave you something other what is described above.
Please review and consider, and then we can plan our project strategy accordingly.

I have produced several short (2 to 3 minute) iMovie projects and want to link them in a continuous stream on a DVD. The clips are in my Mobile Me gallery. How can it be done?

You can do that too, it's all in the iDVD program.
But first you want to assemble the separate clips into one big long clip. For that you would use iMovie. Share to the Media Browser (choose the Large size). Let it export then quit iMovie.
Open iDVD, click on the Media button and then the Movies button. Under the iMovie star icon you will see your final assembled clips movie. In the iDVD project window turn on the map view (it's little boxes that look like a flowchart) then drag the iMovie project into the first box:
You can set the project to startup without a Menu, and then loop continuously as well. Go up to the Advanced Menu then click on the Loop movie option to turn it on.
Once checked the Loop movie status will appear as curved arrow icon in the Project Window:
In the lower right corner is the icon indicating this video clip will loop while being played.

Budget error while issuing stock to the project based production order

Ours is project based Engineering company, we mfg euipments for the client which is part of the project.
We define separate WBS element for equipment to be manufacture & create reservation under this WBS element.
Secondly we follow production process through PP & define BOM for equipment which contains component rquired to mfg the equipment. To control cost(budget) component group wise we create separate sub WBS element for each component group(plates, motors etc) under above equipment WBS element
Kindly refer e.g.below
1. Equipment (Finished code) to be manufacture is attached on WBS MYC-210952-06-03
2. Production order(1003780) created with reference to above WBS element
3 Material procured under WBS MYC-210952-06-03-001
4. Stock available under WBS MYC-210952-06-03-001
We would like to issue material available under MYC-210952-06-03-001 to production order which is attached to WBS MYC-210952-06-03. (Tcode MB1A)
System allows to issue stock, but gives budget error.
Is it possible to transfer budget auto in the transaction MB1A itself from MYC-210952-06-03-001 to MYC-210952-06-03 or what is the best solution available for above situation.
Kindly confirm.

Hi Sanjay,
You have consumed a budget at lower level WBS for material procurement. And at upper level you want to do stock transfer.
But while doing budget allocation you have distributed the budget from Upper level to lower level so there is no distributable value is avaialble at upper level for the amount of the materail stock you want to transfer.
In this either you have to keep your all budget values at upper level where your doing equipment aeembly and not distribute the budget further at lower level.
Now you alredy this so you cant do anything.
Now you have following option available with you. You have perform following activity by the given sequence.
Deactivate the Budget check by CJBW
Do your stock transfer
Do budget return by CJ38 from level WBS to upper level WBS
Now Activate the budget check by CJBV.

I don't have a project start arrow - can only slide the project end arrow.

I don't know if there is a simple solution, but I haven't been able to locate the project start adjustable arrow anywhere. So it's locked at 1.1.1.1 but I can adjust the end.

I seem to have found the solution...checking the Show Advanced Tools under general allows you to affect project starting.

How to open previous iMovie 09 Projects- don't appear in the Project Pane!

I have a lot of iMovie 09 Projects that I have done but they no longer appear in the Project Pane. They are still on my external mac-formatted hard drive, but I can't get them to open in iMovie. I remember moving them to my external hard drive within iMovie at one point and I have a bad feeling I might have removed them from iMovie so they wouldnt slow it down... All the events are gone as well, but still reside on my external drive.
How can I re-open older projects once they don't appear in the project pane any more? They are still in the designated "imovie projects" folder on my hard drive...

if you have multiple hard drives like me they may be there, but are hidden until you hit the triangle next to the hard drive your projects are stored on. once i did that they "magically" appeared...hope it's an easy fix for you too

There is nothing that you can do to get rid of the balance on your own. Contact iTunes Store Support and seek their assistance. I believe that they can reset your balance for you.

Where we can check the changes that we have done in the Projects

Dear Friends,
I have done few changes in the project WBS element after saving the Project, Now I want to check what all the changes that I have done in the WBS.
In which transaction I can check these changes apart from u201CCN60u201D, and please explain step by step what all the customizing setting are required to check these changes.
In Projects is it possible to check the way we are checking the changes in PO and Sales Orders.

Thanks for the inputs, I have tried as you suggested there it is showing system status Created and released, but Iu2019m not getting the information as I required. Here exactly what Iu2019m looking is If I have done any changes in the Project, Eg: after saving the Project if I have changed the Business area, profit center u2026.etc, I need the information when I have changed this data and at what level (WBS, Network or Activity).
