Billing info required?

I can't get any free apps from the apps store as it prompt me to change my billing information about my credit card. I have entered the correct information and was able to get free apps from the apps store. Now I can't. Do I have to have a minimum bank balance with that or it is some kind of problem I'm facing?

I had this problem also. i had only 70c in my account so i transfered some money to that account and it now works. i guess it has to attempt to charge an amount to confirm the card is correct it must charge 99c being the minimum amount that will get charged.

You need to add a valid payment method to the account. An iTunes gift card can be added.

Apps are always associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. This cannot be changed. To avoid getting the request you are seeing delete all apps that request the former Apple ID and download them again.
Any apps for which you paid a fee will require that you purchase them again.

I've been a little sneaky, I bought a game card, like a gift card credit card and I linked it with my Apple ID, this card had £30 on it, and if the £30 has been spent then it's probably the case, but I recently made a purchase which had an error so I'm guessing the money ran out.
Now every time I try and download an app it says "billing information required" and I do not have a credit card, I have a paypal but I've no idea how to bypass this now and I cannot progress to download anything at all without entering my credit card details, which I don't have :s

You need to go buy another gift card and enter the info.

everytime i try to change the billing info it says there's a problem with it, and if I try to download an app or update an app it tells me that verification is required. I bought a gift card to try and use that as a payment method but it didn't change anything even though it says there's $15.00 credit now. I'm really frustrated because I can't figure out how to make it work. thank you!

When/how are you trying to change your payment details ? If you are doing it when trying to download something then you possibly won't get the 'none' option, try logging into your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and see if you get the 'none' option

To purchase from iTunes you are required to fill in an address section under the billing info. You don't have to put in a credit card, just a name and address, so that iTunes can send you receipts later.
I had to do this when I first started buying things from iTunes, you just go to Account>Billing Address> Edit

Do I really have to submit billing info for genius to work? I dont buy songs on itunes, and i only want it to make me playlists. It worked on my cousins laptop without having to do billing info,etc.

If you are trying to make playlists from audio tracks you have imported from CD's, or downloaded music from anywhere but iTunes, then no, you cannot access the Genius Bar. That is for music you have purchased from iTunes only. That is why it's requiring Apple ID in order to use the Genius Sidebar.

App store "Billing info" not funtioning

At the stage where purchasing requires that one check his "Billing Info", and the button is depressed...nothing happens. Tried this many times. I'm out of my registered time zone...might this be a problem?

Hi and welcome....
Open System Preferences - Date & Time then select the Time Zone tab. Make sure you have the correct Time Zone selected on the map.
Quit the Mac App Store if it's open.
Launch iTunes. Click Store from the menu then click View My Account then click Edit Payment Information. Make sure the Security code for your credit card is available then click Done.
Go back to the menu, click iTunes/Preferences then select the Advanced tab. Click Reset warnings and reset cache.
Restart your Mac.

If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.

If you are just visiting Singapore, then leave the account as it is. If you have moved there, then view your account using the iTunes app on a Mac or PC and change the country/region to your current location and address. If you do not have a bank card, you can fund your account using iTunes gift cards if available in Singapore.

Part of the validation for credit cards is that they need to be registered to exactly the same name and address that you have on your iTunes account, which prepaid cards tend not to be. Do you have a proper credit card that you could use ? Or are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you could try using them as your payment method ?
Until you have a valid payment method on your account and what you owe iTunes has been paid off then you won't be able to download any item from the store, including free apps (and updates to apps).
