Billing Information...Re:  country

When I attempt to make an I-tune purchase,I receive an error on my billing page stating that I need to update the "country" field which has correctly defaulted to United States. However, I can not update this field even as the screen is asking me to do for it has become a protected field. Any assistance with regards to correcting this problem so that I can make purchases, would be greatly appreciated.

i have exactly same problem... except that i am from australia ans it corectlysays australia... it wont let me buy songs until my billing info is complete which it is!
i only started using itunes recently and it has been nothing but trouble...

    There doesn't currently appear to be an iTunes store in Rwanda, if/when there might be one we won't know (we are fellow users here on these forums) until Apple announce something - unfortunately that means that you won't be able to download any iTunes content (you can't use another country's store as you have to be in a country, and have a billing address in that country on your account, to use its store).

    I have just moved from UK to Spain.
    I want to update the billing information with new details.
    However, I am not allowed to do so because there is a card from the previous country already in the billing information which I cannot update as it keeps going in circles of either sending me to change the country but, that cannot be done until I update the payment information which, also cannot be done because, it doesn't allow me to change the country and the card is valid only in the previous country.
    Please let me know.

    Contact the card issuer and find out what the problem is.
    Was the card issued in the same countryas the store you're trying to use?

  • How do I set my AppStore up using US Billing Information at a European AppStore?

    My husband is in the US military, and we are currently stationed in The Netherlands. We've both had iPhones (mine a 4s, his a 4) for just over a year, and we've NEVER had an issue like this. Yesterday, I went to update a few apps, and got a message that I couldn't do it because my account was hooked up to the US store, and that I needed to switch to a Dutch store. Fine. There is an option (if you set up your store on a computer) to use billing information from a country different from the store you're using. Excellent. Except it doesn't work. I spoke to three people at Apple Support and the best answer they could give me was to just get a Dutch credit card - not happening. I've hard reset the phone, tried using our Dutch bank information, and have tried our US billing info in the Dutch store, all to receive the same message. My questions: How can I set it up so that I can use my US billing information at the Dutch store? Why would my account be good to go for 15 months and decide to stop working yesterday? Is there a permanent fix or am I going to encounter this problem again?

    If you are in the Netherlands then you can only use their store (you need to be in a country to use its store), and if using a credit card then you can only use one issued by a Dutch bank - US credit cards can only be used in the US with US iTunes accounts.
    Are iTunes gift cards available in the Netherlands ? If they are then you can use those as your payment method.

    I got the following information from apple - following this fixed my problem:
    1. Visit http://myinfo.apple.com and choose your country and preferred language from the pop-up menus. Then log in using your Apple ID and password.
    2. Click Address Book on the left. If you see any blank addresses under Shipping Addresses, make the visible address your default, and then delete the blank address.
    3. Click Phone Numbers on the left, delete all phone numbers, and save your changes. When you successfully place an iPhoto order, your phone number will be copied from iPhoto to My Info.
    4. Check Apple ID, Email, Subscriptions, and Contact Prefs and make any necessary corrections. Save your changes.
    5. Now open iPhoto.
    6. Select a photo and choose Order Prints from the Share menu.
    7. Click Account Info and sign in using your Apple ID and password. If you are unable to log in, try changing your password in My Info using the directions in step 1 above. Then return to step 6 and try again.
    8. Click Edit Shipping and choose Add New Address from the Address pop-up menu.
    9. Add the desired address into the fields, making sure to create a new label, such as "Home." Then select "Make this my default address" and click OK.
    10. Now delete any other addresses listed by selecting them and clicking the Delete This Address button. You should now have only your default "Home" shipping address left.
    You should now be able to submit your iPhoto order successfully. If the difficulty persists, please reply to give me the exact error message you see. I will do my best to help you resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience.

    "Please review your billing information and approve it" This message shows up when I try to order prints.  I did review my account and all is well.  There is no way to get past the error message to complete my order.

    Go back and re-enter all of your billing information, including the billing address.  If that doesn't help try changing the Print Products Storte in iPhoto's Advanced preference pane, reboot, change it back to your country and try again.

    PLEASE help me before I pull out my hair!  I have a photo book I've created in iPhoto 09.  It's ready to be ordered (in-time for Christmas!) and no matter what I do, it comes back with a "please review your billing information and approve it".  There are two things in this repeated (at least 20 times) process that I find interesting 1) every time I re-enter my account info, it says I have an invalid city, state zip code combination and 2) when I try to check out my preferences in iPhoto it freezes up (spinning beach ball) and I have to force quit.  Here's what I've done already:
    1. restarted iPhoto
    2.  restarted computer
    3.  re-entered billing information in apple store
    4.  enabled one-click purchasing and express checkout options in apple store
    5.  trashed iPhoto preferences
    6.  deleted my keychain preferences
    7.  re-entered account info in iPhoto
    8.  double-checked that I choose United State
    9.  Changed credit cards and tried all the above over again
    I'm out of ideas.  Someone PLEASE help me figure out what is going on!

    The zip code error suggests you are ordering from an Apple Print Products Store in the wrong country.  Your Billing Address, Shipping Address, Credit Card, Apple ID must all be valid in the same country as the Apple Store is you are ordering from. Is the region setting in your System Preferences > Language & Region the same as the country of your Billing Address and Shipping Address?

    Do you mean that it's being declined, that you are getting an error message, ... ?
    If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
    If it is a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

    hi, i recenty just moved from the u.k to the u.s and all my itunes settings were set to the u.k regulations, so i tried to change the billing information and it still came up with postcode and in the u.s it is zipcode so it wouldnt let me proceed so i tried to change the country and it said i had to change the billing information (which i cant do untill ive changed the country) so im stuck in a bit of a loop, please could someone give me some guidance or advice because i dont patricularly want to create a new itunes account, i would appreciate your hep, thanks-dan

    I've searched for this error and I have tried the solutions I have found so far with no luck. I'm trying to order an iphoto card from iphoto 9. It keeps asking me to update my account information and review my billing information. (like many others have had)
    I try to order the card and get the "review billing error" I go to account info and go through the 3 steps. Adding in my security code since that is what is empty.
    I look over my address info and it after clicking "ok" it says the address does not have the right combination of city/state/zip. If I click "add new address" and enter in the exact same address, it then goes through. I click on "buy card" and I'm right back to the "review billing information again!" So far I have
    restarted my mac
    restarted iphoto
    waited overnight and tried the next day
    trashed iphoto prefs
    logged out of my account in itunes and logged back in
    logged into my account in itunes and re-entered my information and saved
    tried the apple suggestions at their site
    tried ordering from my mac at work logged in under the same apple ID
    I'm out of ideas...thanks for any suggestions

    The wrong zip code suggests your connecting to the print products store in the wrong country.
    What are your settings in the iPhoto Preferences > Advanced panel for the country of the Print Products Store? Is it the same country as in your Apple ID, Billing address, and Shipping Address?
    And have you enabled Express Checkout at the Apple Store?
    Look at the black title bar at the top of this page. There is a store menu to the left. Click it to open the page of the Apple Store. On the next page click the head icon to the left of the shopping cart to open the settings for your account. There you can enable the Express Checkout settings at the link "Update Express Checkout Settings".

    Part of the validation for credit cards is that they need to be registered to exactly the same name and address that you have on your iTunes account, which prepaid cards tend not to be. Do you have a proper credit card that you could use ? Or are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you could try using them as your payment method ?
    Until you have a valid payment method on your account and what you owe iTunes has been paid off then you won't be able to download any item from the store, including free apps (and updates to apps).
