I am new to Plant Maintenance module. I am supposed to create the Service order and bill the cost to the customer.
Does anyone can give me the procedure for the same in detail?

The BOM structure is reflected in the different technical categories of BOM provided in the PM system:
Simple BOM
The first BOM that you create for a technical object or material has no defined technical category and a simple structure. It is described as a "simple BOM".
Variant BOM
Variant BOMs have a more complex structure. They are used to group together several BOMs to describe different objects that have a high proportion of identical parts.
Multiple BOM
Multiple BOMs have the most complex structure. They are used to group together several BOMs to describe one object, for which different combinations of materials are used for different production methods. Multiple BOMs are usually used in production planning and have little or no use for plant maintenance.
Note: There is no concept of Alternative BoM for PM.

You may do a resource related billing from the service order, but you need to maintain Resource Related billing profile in Service order --> Control tab. Once it is set you may generate the billing document (debit memo) from service order through DP90, provided the config is right.

There are different steps to be done for that.
1. Create DIP Profile in ODP1 & check the consistency in ODP2 - DIP will be used to bill the customer based on resource (labor & material) usage. Creation of DIP profile has been discussed many times in this forum. Please check.
2. Assign the Quotation document type & Billing type used in DIP profile to your sales area - Your document type should be assigned to your sales organisation, distribution channel & division combination.

Change Service Order Planning Plant

Hello -
I have a business requirement for changing the Maintenance Planning Plant (CAUFVD-IWERK) on the service order mid stream during processing if a location can't handle the workload. Rather than changing the work center and plant (CAUFVD-VAWRK), they want to flip the entire order to the central distribution center. My issue is that the Planning Plant field is a protected field on the service order, and I can't find any configuration point to change this setting. I can change this on the Notification, but then I have two service documents that are out sync with their org level assignments. The business objective is to eliminate the step of creating a new order by flipping the planning plant assignment. Any ideas?

We have situations where orders are created by local Planning Plants for national customers, if they determine they cannot meet the demand for the order, they have the right to change the assignment of the order to the national planning plant. Currently, the only way to complete this process is to close the current order and create a new order for the national planning plant. The business requirement I am trying to meet is to allow a 'flip' of the order from one planning plant to another without going through the process of closing the current order and creating a new one.

Unable to create a order in plant maintenance

Hi,
I have deployed BUSINESSPACKAGEs of ERP5 for PLANT MAINTENANCE, after deploying i have assigned the roles and configured sso when i go to role maintenance execution and click on create order i can open the screen. but when click on notification and click on create order i could not able to create the order
The error throughing is iview "maintenance_order" not available.
Could you please tell for the above iview which BUSINESS PACKAGE is used.

You need to have Business Package for Common Parts to create manitanance orders, please check these links:

Billing for service orders

I need to be able to bill for some of the service orders as a requirement of my client.
Has anyone done the config in SD for this before?
If I do not want to use SD is there another option to use?
Any help would be great and will award points.

There are two options provided by SAP for billing custmer service
1. One way I earlier explained is by creating Sales Order .In this u can create service order automatically & Bill the Custmer
2. Second way is to use DP90 in which u have to create a billing request which can be used for RRB(Resource Related Billing) using DIP profile
So in summary it can be processes with Sales /Service Order as per your need

BAPI for resource related billing for service order

Hi,
I want to generate billing based on cost spent on service in transaction DP90.
i searched and tried the BAPI DIPCOL_COLLECTIVE_RRB. But this one is for collective processsing i.e DP96.
Is there any BAPI or FM which is for DP90 which i can use in my program.

Hi all,
Solved myself.
Use call txn to generate sales order. I gave input as service order and saved, it will generate sales order which is collected via set / get parameter. eg: set parameter id 'AUN' field fl_sales_order.
Then used 'BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST' to get sales order details and 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE' and finally 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'.

Billing of service orders done by service provider in case of arrangement??

For the scenario of service arrangements using service providers, I saw the scenario on Sap Help:

For that scenario I want to know how the service providers get billed after the service order is completed. And to whom the customer bay for the service done??

Hi All,
I tried using LSMW to create service orders, but I found out from SAP that batch Input is not a supported channel to load business data into the CRM system anymore! So can anyone suggest me a better way to mass create service orders?
I have tried using eCATT as well and this didn't work. I have created one service order (template) for each of the customers and whenever I need to edit these service orders (ex. with a new product), I want to be able to do this automatically by using the list of service order templates and the new product. Will a BDC work or can I use a BAPI to do this? Any suggestion/tips will be highly appreciated. I want to be able to copy the template to a new service order and then be able to add a new line item for the product, this should be repeated for all the service order templates.

Partial billing on service order

Hi guru,
I have a quick question: I have a service order ( no delivery involved.) Can I still do partial billing against sales order?
In this case, sales order 's confirmed quantity is grayed out. invoice quantity is copied from sales order confirmed quantity is also grayed out.
I would like to be able to enter the quantity on the invoice anytime by the business? Is this possible?

Go to VF01, select your billing type, enter the order number, click on the selection list, check whther you are able to change the quantity to be billed or not?

Error during resource related billing against service order SM02 type!

Hi,
I have created a service order SM02 type with internal operation and activity type assignment. Confirmed the operation. Did goods issue against the order reservatio. Got actual costs updated.
While running DP90 I am getting a message Character combination W/O Mat. Assign. in DIP profile XXXXXX
and at the message long text

And the above mentioned is Information Message . Latter when I enter and proceed I get an error message saying
Error during material determination for sales document item 817702/

Diagnosis
An error occured during material determination for a dynamic item.
Kindly suggest me how can I solve this issue.

It looks like the DIP Processor cannot determine a material.
Go you your DIP Profile and check the Material Determination settings
Also run TCode ODP2 to check the consistency of your DIP Profile

BAPI for changing PRT link to operation in order in Plant maintenance...

Hello,
I am working on Plant maintenace module. I want to change the PRTs associated to an operation (VORNR) of an Order (AUFNR) programatically.
The PRT documents are created automatically in SAP with newer versions. Whenever a newer version is encountered, The PRT link with the Operation of an order should be changed programatically.
Is there any BAPI avaialable to do change PRT linkt o operation of order ?

Looking for any advice, tips, tricks, things to look out for in using screen blocks, to structure the tabs on work order configuration, similar to notification configuration. I believe that this functionality came in with enhancement pack 3 in ECC6.0.

For creting a Order view as per ur requierment, first u need to create a view profile in the customozing
When defining the tab pages, you must note the following:
The key of the tab page serves as the sort key for the sequence in which the tab pages are displayed.
You can assign a maximum of eight screen areas to a tab page. The sequence in which the screen areas are assigned also determines the sequence in which they are displayed on the tab page.
There are screen areas that take up a whole tag page (fullscreen). You must always enter these screen areas in the field for the screen area 1.
For all the pushbuttons for the navigation, that are offered on the initial screen of the order, you must define which tab page is displayed when you select the pushbutton.
If you do not define an active tab page for a pushbutton, the system uses the first tab page.
Now assign the created profile to the order type, planning plant and the activity category.
If you leave the activity category empty, then the assigned view profile applies to all the activity categories.
If you also define an activity category (for example, add), then the assigned view profile only applies to this activity category.

Kindly tell me how to create a MM-SRV Purchase Requisition from Enterprise Asset Management (Plant Maintenance).
eg. A plant maintenance order (IW31) is created for repair of a transformer. It requires external service procurement with following structure.
Service Item D: Transformer repair
Limit 10,000 eur
Outline 10: Dismantling
Service Line 10: Junior Technician 5 hr, 10 eur
Service Line 20: Senior technician 3 hr, 15 eur
Outline 20: Cleaning
Service Line 10: Oiling 5 hr, 20 eur
Outline 30: Reassembly
Service Line 10: Junior Technician 15 hr, 10 eur
Service Line 20: Senior technician 10 hr, 15 eur
Kindly tell me how Purchase Requisition can be created with service structure from Plant Maintenance.

In IW31, select the Order type. Select the Planning Plant.
give the main work center & Functionla location of performing the services
Click on the operations tab, select the Control Key PM03 Plant maintenance-External(services). Enter the operation short text. Select the line item & click on External Icon (at bottom of page)
Give the details such as material group, purchase group, Purchase organization , requisitioner.
Create the service lines & Save the data. Order gets created. goto IW32 & release the order.
PR can be viewed in Act. Data tab at the service lines.

We have a prospect wanting to see a proof of concept (and pay for it) of SAP -GIS integration using web services. No specific requirement. Fetch a bunch of work orders from SAP using web service and display on a map - can be the POC.
Please review the attached doc. Figure out whether any standard web service is available, if not a BAPI can be converted to web service quickly.

They just asked about is there any Standard web services available for Plant maintenance.
