Bin / Area in Photoshop to place Frequently Used Files?
Hello! I am looking for an area in Photoshop to place & view frequently-used files, and open those files on a quick single-click. This would replace "Command-O & navigating through network drives to locate files every time. Also looking for a visual solution without creating an action.) I have attached a graphic of the desired solution I am looking for. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks so much in advance--
Use Mini Bridge Collections. That's what it's for!

Photoshop cs3 hangs when using "File open"
I am running Photoshop CS3 extended on an HP desktop XP( fully updated) computer - 2 GB RAM -running fine util tonight when i tried to do a "file>open" the file menu idsappears in a split second and then it locks. It acts the same when i use the keyboard shortcut. But if i reopen it and try to open a file through Bridge-it works fine. it also allows me to open recent files.
bernadettebuechler,
Are you allowing enough time for PS to do its "thing?" By that, I mean that since CS, PS loads and looks ready. Count to 5, and all of a sudden, you will see the hourglass up for a moment. Count to 2, and the hourglass will flash on very briefly. Then, it's ready to go. I've only had one PS lockup from ver. 2.5, and it was because I was anxious to go, PS "looked" ready to go, and I hit File>Open too soon. Palettes go white, "Not Responding" shows in the program title bar, and boom - a lockup.
Speculation was afoot, back when Activation began, CS, that PS was "phoning home," to check with Adobe, to see if all was OK. This was never confirmed, and people without an Internet connection still had this little pause, though their program ran fine, without the Internet.
I quickly learned to be patient, until I see the two hourglass "blinks." This is on two very fast systems, though with CS2. My speculation is that the reason that PS will run fine when an image in Bridge, or Windows Explorer launches it, is that you (and I) are not hitting keys, while it does its little hourglass dance. Instead, we're waiting for our image to Open, and PS is smart enough to not fully load that, until it's good and ready.
I hope that this is what you encountered and nothing more sinister.
Good luck,
Hunt
PS watch for the two hourglass blinks. First is longer - pause - quick blink - good to go. -
How to get the file using file adapter.
Hi All,
We have a requirement, IDoc -> PI -> JMS Adapter. Here the IDoc is in Flat file format. How can i consume Flat file version of IDoc into PI using Sender File Adapter for further processing..
The Flat file version is been created within the SAP Application server "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/global"
Do I need to specific Source Directory as "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/global" in Sender comm channel? How about the remaining parameters like authentication details?
plz guide me..
ThnxCheck the below link:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0901cba-f49e-2910-748c-d7ce4c0c4c1c?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
go to transaction AL11 and there you can find DIR_HOME with a path.
D:usrsapPID..
Double click on the filename, you would be able to view the file content.
That path is ur Application Server path, there you can save your file. Then in the External Data tab in Scheduling screen select Application server and on the file name press F4 so u can get the AL11 files select that then double click DIR_HOME, select your file.
It will ask for display contents or copy name. Give COPY NAME the file name with path will be copied.
If we are using Sender File Adapter to consume the file then what should be the source directory (i.e., /usr/SAP/PID/Global/..)
If you are on the same network then use File Aapter(NFS).
Now, the path should be usrSAPPIDGlobal -
Hi. After loading a picture into Photoshop some of the menu tools are greyed out and I cannot use the keyboard short cuts, for instance I cannot use Ctrl + T for free transform, how do I resolve this problem. In addition the tool Icons are so small I have to get close to the screen to see them, is there anyway the Icons can be made bigger without reducing the resolution of the screen.
Thanks
DerekAre you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger. -

I am using Photoshop CS6 and my images are opening up totally white from camera raw into photoshop.
I am using a Mac. Just recently switched from PC to raw, and never had this problem. Is everything up to date?

The drop down menus in Photoshop CC 2014 are too small to read without using the magnifier. They are OK in Photoshop CC. I have been unable to find anyplace to adjust the font size. I have Windows 7 Pro. Looking at the Photoshop version history, it looks like this problem comes and goes as Photoshop is updated. It should be an easy fix.
Try the Photoshop CC 2014 Preference experimental section 2X UI option

My MacAir is great except for a problem i have. Keys F1, F2,F5,F6,F7,F8,F9,F10,F11,F12 and the power button are unresponsive. These are keys i frequently use and i have searched the whole apple help centre. Anyone got answers for me? Please helP!!!
Some keys don't work as expected
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Speech.
Click the Text to Speech tab.
If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
Click the Universal Access pane in System Preferences, click the Keyboard tab.
Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
In the Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If Mouse Keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard with no numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard are not working as expected, see Mac OS X: How to change the behavior of function keys.
If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:
Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
If the keyboard is connected and detected by Mac OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.
Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working. If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly. Use Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.

Photoshop CS 5 crashes after updating and then using File -- Automate -- Batch
I am running Photoshop CS5 (build 12.0.4 x32) on my XP 32-bit machine and have done so without major problems until about a week ago.
Then all of a sudden when accessing File --> Automate --> Batch the program crashes and I have to force it shutting down manually after which I can restart Photoshop. When trying to access the batch command hereafter the same crash reappears rendering batch commands useless.
I thought about posting here but then decided to reinstall Photoshop again. This enables the fully working software including batch commands once again. However after a short while the update software asks to download and install some patches for all programs. After doing so the same problem happens again in regards to the batch command. Photoshop crashes when accessing it and won't work at all.
I now repeated this procedure twice and have no idea what to do about it.
Is there anybody that has had this experience or knows about a solution?
Do I have to contact Adobe with an error report?
Any help and comment is welcome and mostly appreciated.Chris Cox wrote:
Yes, a change in the Adobe update made the existing scanner bug show up more frequently. No, that does not make your statement correct. The bug exists in the scanner driver, and existed before the Adobe update.
The Adobe update is not the cause of the bug, it just made some unrelated change that made the bug appear more frequently. That could be something as simple as putting different values in different locations of memory. We don't know. Only the authors of the scanner driver can know for sure why it is crashing more often now.
Photoshop supports the TWAIN standard, but cannot be responsible for the bugs in the third party drivers that attempt to implement that standard.
The high frequency of bugs in TWAIN drivers is what made us move the TWAIN plugin to "optional" status in the first place -- because too many people were crashing, had a hard time figuring out the cause, and blamed Adobe for something completely beyond our control.
And we already do inform scanner vendors about all the bugs we find in their drivers. But we cannot force them to fix their bugs, nor can we know the nature of all of their bugs to code around them.
I understand that you're angry. But please stop trying to blame an innocent bystander.
Adobe cannot do anything to fix the bugs in your scanner driver. Only the authors of your scanner driver can fix the bugs in your scanner driver.
Until they provide an update to fix the bugs in the driver, your choices are to keep crashing, or not use that buggy scanner driver.
I am going to make this short.
It depends on how you look at it. From your angle, Adobe did their's and the scanner companies are to blame for their buggy software. What you are saying here would be - if compared - resemble a situation where you would go to a car dealer, buy a car, then drive away just to find that the trailer tow hitch you attached your old trailer to would keep falling off all the time. When confronting the dealer about the issue he would reply to you that you have to talk to the manufacturer of the trailer because the problem is their responsibility. How would you as a client react...?
Maybe it is true that the driver software is buggy. However it still did work though under other conditions before this update. That means that you updated something that made these things appear frequently. Maybe you don't know and only they do. Fair enough. But us customers don't have to work these problems out or live with them nor do we have to use our time on posting and fixing companies' errors and mistakes. That's what we pay you for. We only need to use this application hassle free on the spot. Maybe you should start crash testing in an controlled environment before you apply these updates and then post them. Or make a deal with those companies to do so for you. Maybe they will then ignore you or won't tell you about possible bugs to hike their own skin. Fair enough as well. Create some sort of program, a label or whatever that you apply and hand out only to those companies that are "certified by and working with Adobe software" and that they can put on their products or you on your very own Adobe website for all us customers to see and to use as a type of guidance in order to have working hardware and applications and avoid these errors.

Help! Photoshop CS6 hangs when using brush, clone, healing brush tools etc on Mac
I am having a big problem when using the new CS6 on my Mac (os x 10.7.4). When switching to a new tool, like a brush, or clone stamp, or healing brush etc, Photoshop hangs for about 20 seconds before resuming. It's not 3rd party plug-ins, because I get the same behaviour when I run using the shift key and third party plug-ins are disabled. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens frequently. I've heard that others have had similar problems... are there any solutions - is it a known bug?

Why are my notifications silent when I connect my 4s to my Toyota Fortuner Bluetooth system ?
Hi,
The 'features' you refer to are not anything that a customer should really care about, so why don't you just turn them off.
Do you really care about "Location-based iAds" - I've hardly ever even seen iAds!
Do you really care about the time-zone updating based upon your international location - unless you are a very frequent traveller, this 'feature' is pretty useless and can be turned off without losing functionality that matters.
The specific features to turn off are indicated in my post above - they are all in one place, they can all be turned off in about 20 seconds, and your problem will go away, and you will not lose any important functionality.
Obviously I would agree with your point if you had to refrain from using the phone or making text messages, or playing games, or taking photos... all of which are genuinely useful features of a phone.
But I disagree with you that you should deny yourself reasonable battery life on the basis that you need the specific features that made you buy this "Apple product and not an Android one" when these features are in fact not first-line, or even-second line features... they are just 'things' that make very little difference to how a person would use their iPhone at all.
Anyway, that's my thoughts on it. Yes of course it would be great if Apple could fix the bug but as it isn't showstopping, I find it hard to get worked up about it -
I frequently use Lightroom 3.6 for tethered capture on location. If I sign up for Adobe cloud and upgrade to Lightroom 5, do I have to be online all the time to use it? In other words, can I still use the program off-line?
Yes.
The only difference is the installation method and the ownership verification. The program still is installed on and runs from your local machine. You only have to hook up to the internet every 60-90 days to verify ownership.
From the FAQ
Do I need to be online to access my desktop apps?
No, the desktop applications in Creative Cloud, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, are installed directly on your computer, so you don’t need an ongoing Internet connection to use them.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
Annual members can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode." -
Photoshop CS6 unable to use due to display driver (Intel) problem
Hi
I am experiencing problems using Photoshop CS6 (not extended version). I have recently installed Design standard and I'm not having this problem with Illustrator.
Each time I run PS, I receive a pop up with "display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully been recovered". PS opens but I cannot use it and I have to force end task in task manager.
I have an Asus Laptop (i7) with Windows 8.1, graphics card Intel HD 4400, it also has an NVIDA Geoforce GT 740M graphic card.
so far:
I have installed the latest driver from Intel (10.18.10.3345).
I have re-booted in Safe Mode and can open PS - I receive the message "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware". I can use PS in safe mode. I then re-boot and can use PS normally, however after another re-boot or awakening from sleep the problem reappears.
I have tried switching to 'Basic' or "Normal' in the advanced settings. The problem occurs again.
I connect this laptop by VGA to an external Dell monitor, however it does not just happen when connected to the external.
Any help in resolving this would be very much appreciated!
Here is my help>system info log (retrieved when in safe mode after the warning message) :

This is because PS turned off the GPU when I opened it in safe mode.
When I can access PS normally, both cards are recognised:

is uninstalling the graphics card the only fix for this? I'm reluctant to try this, and cause more problems.. -
I'm wondering how people are migrating their embedded devices that are using the FBWF. I've done some googling and it seems like most people are just re-imaging the devices and after migrating a single device i see why. Its not a pretty process. This will
be a long description but ultimately my question stems more from trying to find a better way to execute the device migration from 2007 to 2012.
Some back ground on my situation might be in order here. I'm in the process of wrapping up our 2007 to 2012 migration. We have a 2007 infrastructure that was a central server with 2 primaries and 286 secondary site servers. I've consolidated that to a single
2012 primary site server that hosts all the main roles. There are 2 more servers in the data centers both operating solely as push distribution points I'll refer to them as 2012 01 02 and 03. I'm over half way through the migration and so far haven't needed
to offload any site roles. There are almost 10,000 clients now reporting to the 2012 site server and almost a 100 field servers pulling content from 2012 02 as their source dp as pull dp is the only way forward for this many devices. I've read the horror stories
of trying spin up 200 plus push dps. We are running PKI. I'm at the point now where i need to start migrating the Windows Embedded Seven Standard clients that have the 2007 sccm client on them with WEDM for write filter handling.
What i'm wondering is if anyone has any pointers for me regarding migrating the WES 7 devices. My plan that i've come up with is to somehow script the process using a 2007 WEDM Task Sequence to try and migrate them over to 2012. Things are complicated as
I need to somehow script the install, the policy checkin, hardware inventory, software inventory, and validate the SCEP client installs before I reboot the device one last time to enable the FBWF. How I handled the SCCM 2007 client install on these devices
when they were provisioned was to just create a batch file that would sleep for ten minutes then check to see if the inventoryagent.log file had been created yet. I realize now that is inefficient as i can kick off the inventory using a WMI method once the
client has installed. Also I need to make sure the machine gets its first policy as that is how it creates the communication using PKI through that first policy transfer and that also finalizes the client install. The biggest piece i'm uncertain about in this
regard is the SCEP client.
I had to change the SCEP client install from yes to no in the default client settings as we have some Mcaffee servers that can't have the SCEP client on them. I have incremental updates enabled on the collection that has the policy that installs the SCEP
client but this will take an unknown amount of time unless i force the environment to update as the device starts in 2012 install, or if I could kick off the SCEP isntall... IDK. I'm also wondering if i should keep the device in the migration process until
i validate it has its proper scep policy applied which I believe can be validated by a registry key somewhere.
Once the 2012 client gets installed will that cause it to lose its place within the 2007 Task Sequence? Considering its going to take a minimum of 2 reboots I'd normally use the task sequence to handle its progression through the process.
I'm also considering trying to use an Orchestrator runbook, as that would be a good way to keep track of the migration process as each device migrates. Especially since this might take several seperate scripts.
I'm going to take a stab at scripting the migration process, but if anyone has any pointers that might make this a less complicated I'd really appreciate it as I've got about 3000 of these devices that need to be migrated over. The other things i've learned
the hard way is any time you have something this complicated over the course of 3000 devices you will run into unknowns and the failure rate increases. I'm in the precarious position of having to not only build this process out but in some situations have
it complete in the shortest amount of time possible as we have sites running 24x7. I know the end users behavior all to well and they will just keep hitting the power button sometimes even though their not supposed to so they can get their device functional
again. In those situations i'd end up, if i'm lucky with a device that no longer has a healthy SCCM client in either environment and the write filter disabled.
So like i said any pointers anyone could throw my way i'd really appreciate. I manually went through the migration process on a single device for proof of concept and ended up with almost 2 pages of pseudo code for my migration script/scripts.
Thanks,
-K.R.Hi,
In R2 there are some new variables you can use to solve this,
http://ccmexec.com/2014/12/smstsmplistrequesttimeout-value-in-milliseconds/
In Sp1 though adding a step to sleep for 2-5 minuter after reboot and before the application install step is a common workaround.. a powershell command with "Start-Sleep
-s 120" should do it.

Why in the world did update 1.4 start turning off WiFi in sleep mode again?
This time, we werent even given a choice. It just turns off by design. Thats not cool! I really solely on WiFi at home because my EV connection at home is close to nothing. You guys can ask Sprint to put a tower in New City, NY.
