Binary Rejected: 2.2: Apps that exhibit bugs will be rejected

We found that your app exhibited a bug, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 7.1.1, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, the app launches to an empty storefront.
We also found that your app has an associated free subscription, however, it does not include a mechanism for the user to sign up for the free subscription.
It is required to revise the app to include the mechanism to allow user to sign up for the free subscription. For more information, please see Newsstand for Developers for information on Newsstand Kit.
Does anybody can help me? I don't know what's wrong...

They told you what is wrong: you don't have any issues in your library, and you don't have a way to sign up for the subscription in your app. This usually means:
1) You didn't publish a sample issue as free so the reviewers can see your app has content
2) You didn't add your subscription in App Builder
I suggest you follow our step-by-step publishing guide to make sure you have everything configured correctly and tested before you submit again to Apple. You can find our guide at: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Adobe_Publishing_Companion_Guide_for_iPad.pdf

We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 7.0.3, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, your app launches to a black screen.
For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. Please be sure to:
    - include the complete details of your rejection issues
    - prepare any symbolicated crash logs, screenshots, and steps to reproduce the issues for when the DTS engineer follows up.
For information on how to symbolicate and read a crash log, please see Tech Note TN2151 Understanding and Analyzing iPhone OS Application Crash Reports.
If you have difficulty reproducing this issue, please try testing the workflow as described in  <https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/qa/qa1764/>Technical Q&A QA1764: How to reproduce a crash or bug that only App Review or users are seeing.
I have iPad having iOS 5.1.1 and it works absolutely fine for me without any bug.
What are the recovery steps to get rid of this issue? We have worked a lot for this aaplication and we need to get approved by apple.

    Hi Bob
I have a critical question. We have few applications, not only one. My question is concerning "Shared Secret". We are used one unique "Shared Secret" for all our applications. Should we generate a new shared secret code for each of them or one unique "Shared Secret" is valid for all of them?...
Since three weeks our apps are rejected periodically. We have one accepted app. We have compared all areas in DPS App Builder and iTunes Connect. When we look at the step-by-step check list, there is no problem. Also, if we test the developper api in our iPad, everything is fine, there's no problem (Screenshot is in the attachment).
Thank you so much for your help…

  • I have one app that when open will not orient. Everything else does.

How can I get an app to orient?

    Try these in order.
    1. Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Delete the app and reinstall it. Tap and hold down on the icon until it jiggles and then tap the X on the icon to delete it. Tap the home button to stop the apps from jiggling. Download the app again in the purchased tab of the App Store.
If you have data or documents in this app, backup your iPad first so that you can restore from a backup in order to recover the data.

  • Are you allowing upgrades to apps that say they will run on iOS 5.0 to be downloaded(but actually don't run at all), so as to weed out the ipad1 population ?

IS there a background intent to eliminate ipad1 devices/users from your support effort ? That would seem the case, when I download an upgrade that causes the app not to run anymore.Well conceived.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support. If an app's developer has released an update to their app that causes it to no longer work then delete the app (which will also delete its content, so first copy off anything that you want) and resync your backup copy of the previous version from your computer, and contact the app's developer.

  • TS1702 All of a sudden none of my apps that I installed will work.  I tap them and nothing starts.  Any clues?

All of a sudden all the apps I have installed on my IPad won,t work.  They on the screen and when I tap them nothing happens.  All the apps automatically installed are still working.  I must have changed a setting somewhere.  Any clues?

Try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

  • How come the apps that I downloaded will not sync onto my Ipod touch?

Well recently I was really wanted to have apps on my ipod touch. (Its iOS is 5.1.1)
When I try to sync on an app to my ipod touch it doesn't sync in the apps!!
    What can I do!?!? ._.

Please don't use bolded over-sized fonts.
Do the apps require IOS level greater than IOS-5?

  • Binary Rejected

Bob Bringhurst, Bob Levine  et al - after much waiting in the Apple queue, our binary was rejected yesterday.
I am not sure what to do, or where the issue lies.
I am copying the message we received from Apple below, and attaching the screenshot they sent us.
What do you suggest we now do? Everything worked just fine on our provisioning app. Thank you

I am having the same problem with an app that I have been trying to get approved for the last few weeks for a client. I have rebuilt it 4 times.  My App Builder is up to date just so you know. I have checked to make sure the Zip file is the latest one that I save. Each time I have done a test on a iPad Air using the latest iOS with no problems seeing it.  Find it weird that I can see it, but Apple can't.  Any suggestions on how to get this working would be very much appreciated.  This is my 3 Single Edition I have done.  The other ones I have not had this kind of problem.
    Thanks,
    Karen

      Thank you for your response.
However, we still see the same issue where your app only displays a blank page upon launch after momentarily showing the splash screen. This happened when reviewed on iPad Air running iOS 8.0.2 on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks. Please ensure that the issue is resolved before resubmitting your app for review.

Can I upload a simple iPhone App that all it does is direct the User to a Filemaker Pro URL   fmp://~filename.fmp?$VariableName=Value  This launches Filemaker Go and directs the user to the Database Hosted online

    is launch
    fmp://~/filename.fmp12?$VariableName=value
This URL will launch the Filemaker Go App
Filemaker Go is a app that the user will have to have
    downloaded already on the device..
The Simple Native app will launch the Filemaker Go.

and get  the user where they need to be..
    Help Me please
    iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

That would be software. And, you said "upload." That's "uploading software." Why do you question what you stated?
I don't know where you even want to upload this software. The only way it can be downloaded to a device is through the iTunes store. Do you even know what you want to do?

  • What will going to happend with app that are not ready for IOS 5?

What will going to happend with app that are not ready for IOS 5?

Most applications will work just fine.  I typically have 150 or so apps installed, and typically only 1 or 2 will "break".  The vast majority of apps will continue to operate just as well as before if not better.  iOS developers are privy to beta testing the upcoming OS, so the week or so before and after the official release you'll see a larger number of apps needing to be updated than normal.  Last night I updated 23 apps, and you'll see alot over the next week or two getting updates.  Most are making minor changes to take advantage of new APIs, or add a new feature based on a new function of the OS (like twitter integration into the OS for example).  Very few apps, (maybe 3-4 percent??) actually are getting updated because they're broken, but there will be a few.  Most of the time, any apps that would break will have already been addressed in an update prior to the release of the new OS, and you've probably already updated that app so that it will work seamlessly and perfectly after the update hits.

  • Apps that arbitrarily restrict which users may use the App, such as by location or carrier, may be rejected

    Hello,
I have an inquiry, this section:
Apps that arbitrarily restrict which users may use the App, such as by location or carrier, may be rejected
We have an mBanking app to be built and the Bank is insisting on forcing a mandatory update when there is a need
and the user should be restricted from logging in in such case (as a security update or important bug fixes).
Does the above fit in what will be rejected? Will the application be rejected in such a case? if so are there any workarounds?
    Thanks

    No, no, and no.
Sorry, but this is Apple we’re talking about here.

  • Apps that use non-public APIs will be rejected

    Hi guys
Just reading the iOS guidelines before I get too deep into making the native version of a web app.
    I was wondering what:
Apps that use non-public APIs will be rejected
means when submitting an app made in AIR - does it mean you can't use your own custom classes?
    Cheers

If you mean custom AS3 classes, yes you can use those. What you can't do is create an ANE that calls into the private frameworks of iOS itself.

  • 2.13: Apps that are primarily marketing materials or advertisements will be rejected

    Hi,
I am a freelance designer and have a number of clients who would like to make use of the iPad's visual interactivity for their corporate brochures and sales material, the brochures will contain pinch and zoom, slideshows, video, and lots of visual treats.  My concern is that the brochures are primarily marketing materials, and as such likely to be rejected by the App Store review board: "2.13: Apps that are primarily marketing materials or advertisements will be rejected"
I could add bells and whistles to get the app past the App Store review but I dont want to waste clients money by developing something that is not actually relevant to the primary function of the document (which is to for the company to present their offerings to their clients).
My clients are small companies, not large enterprise corporate giants, so the solution needs to be cost effective for them.
I read some old posts from May 2011 which talked about sideloading (no longer available), and viewing in Adobe Content Viewer (which I think is cumbersome for my clients to share with their partners and business prospects).  Hoping that something has changed since then.
Ideally the client would email a link to their prospects (or have a link on their website) which opens a viewer on their ipad, without having to go through the App Store.
What options do I have to distribute content to iPad devices?
I am a Creative Cloud member, which means I can submit unlimited single .folio apps to Apple, but this doesnt get me past clause 2.13.
Advice would be appreciated.  Many thanks.

    No, no, and no.
Sorry, but this is Apple we’re talking about here.

  • Will app that downloads videos be rejected?

I have an app that uses .mp4 files. Rather than continually bundling all previous videos with each update, I'd like to have users download the videos they want. Say each update has five videos. You buy v1.2. You get five videos and need to download 10 (five for v1.0 & five for v1.1) for the full video set. The app does this through its authorization scheme.
Anyone create something similar or see some potential where Apple rejects it?

Maybe it would have been a better idea to confirm that iTunes is supported in Windows 8 before buying a computer with that Operating System.
There will be a new version of iTunes released this month... no one forced you to upgrade prior to a supported version of iTunes being released.
