Bing made search engine

I needed to download flip for mac in order to watch a video my professor posted online and clicked a link recommended by a friend. The first item in the installation was cleverly designed to look like a flip for mac installer but insted it downloaded mackeeper and and another item with the named cloud something. I already uninstalled these two applications and cleared anything That I thought looked suspicious from my launch agents and launch daemons. I have checked my extensions in safari and nothing is there. I have checked for genio and can not find anything yet Bing is still being used by the safari search bar. I have switched google to my home page but I can not figure out how to change the search bar back. How do I get rid of Bing?

To change the search provider, open Safari, go to Safari menu (in the menu bar) -> Preferences -> Search, and choose Google as the search provider

After uploading FLV media player last night, I found that "Bing" had taken over my PC. I do not want "Bing" as a search engine; I don't want it installed on my computer. How do I add multiple scripts from search engines to my meta tag properties?

I currently have copied the goolge script for website varification and analytics, etc and pasted it into my meta tag properties dialog box. There is no problem as far as Google varifying the page. However, I would like to copy Bing's search engine script into my meta tag in addition to Googles script. How do I go about doing this? Do I hit the return on my keyboard under the ending of Googles script, then paste in the Bing script?
The the last part of the Google script ending in this:

Will this cancel out each other and cause problems?
Can someone walk me through this process, because Bing's search engine will not varify my site through two of the three other methods.

Adding a script after the closure of previous script is the way to go i.e. right after the </script> tag.
So it should look something like below:

Google's script
</script>
<script>
Bing's script
</script>
Cannot comment on one interfering with the other since it really depends on what exact code is there in the scripts. Google and Bing help resources will be able to help more with this.

I got an iPhone 3GS and in safari the bookmark icon when pressed use to reveal a listing of different search engines (google, yahoo, bing etc) with a users guide at the bottom of the listings but now they've gone .

Makes enough sense and I thought it might be a profile issue, but only after the fact, so why does is not say this upfront ...

Well, I could cry about it more, but I guess not too many other people have had this problem, I did search a bit before posting my question , and I consider myself pretty competent about this kind of stuff..
Next task ... ... ... Is there any place a backup is stored in the profile folders that have maybe my 3.6.12 Extensions and Extensions settings????

but I am not currently on that particular PC to look at it to see if I can figure it out myself.

I want to use Firefox but I can't stand the new Google, even when I select Bing as my search engine Google comes up on my home page. I will not use Firefox if I cannot get rid of Google

Ever since the "improved Google" came out I hear a constant irregular clicking in the background as if Google is updating or checking Data. I cannot stand their new format either, giving me junk advertising that I did not want or ask for. I was a huge Google fan before they really started going for maximum profits now I just want them out of my browser. I have Firefox 17.0.1, by doing a system restore, I lost all my major default search engines, google, yahoo, bing, etc.; can't get them back

Firefox was working fine until I did a system restore to get rid of a DLL initialization failed error; it went back 20 days; an older version of firefox was there and it wouldn't update, then I noticed all my major search engines and defaults were gone, including google, yahoo, bing, etc. Some of the minor search engines were there. I couldn't even add them manually.
I tried using system restore again, going back like yesterday; it doesn't work. The files or something is wrong. How can I fix this to get my major search engines back, or being able to add them. In manage search engines there is a restore default box exists but it doesn't work.
I have windows xp professional. Please help, this is driving me crazy. I also tried typing a command in the run in the start menue to go into a safe mode and click on restore defaults. It also didn't work, no safe mode.

Clarification:
I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

If you are having problems with extensions you can uninstall and reinstall the extension.

I resolved my issue. Renamed search.sqlite and reinstalled Firefox 9.0.1
All default search engines are now available.

How do I get Firefox to open a blank website when I open a new tab and not this "Bing" search engine page?

Whenever I open a blank tab I'm taken to some page where I can search the web with a search engine called Bing. This isn't a major problem but it causes a LOT of annoyance since the cursor is right in the search engine box and not in the address bar like before. Like I said, not a major problem, just annoying and I'd like it fixed if I can.
