Bing Search API exact phrase match not working?

Dear Microsoft support,
I have recently subscribed to the Bing Web Search API and now found a problem with exact phrase match.
When searching for "engineering it has over medical", encoded as %27%22engineering%20it%20has%20over%20medical%22%27 I get two results back from you - unfortunately on closer inspection neither one of them contains the phrase I searched for.
I could understand less results than actually exist due to a limited index, but this seems to be a bug.
Please check and let me know how to resolve this.

it gives me a lot of data, so I don't think this is a bug, if I misunderstand, please feel free to let me know, if it proved to be a bug, I will report this issue.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Mixed case name search in Unload Wizard is not working (EA3 - 3rd beta)

I believe the mixed case name search in Unload Wizard is not working (EA3 - 3rd beta)
I have bunch of triggers (and other db objects as well) with mixed case names such as zMY_TRIGGERu and can not find those triggers in the "Lookup" during the Unload Wizard (Tools menu --> Database Unload option).
I also found out that the search is limited to 500 objects and if you have more than 500 constraints for example only 500 of them are displayed by the "Lookup"
- is there any configuration/setting parameter (which I already checked the Preferences for DDL/Unload option and didn't see anything) for eliminating the 500 limit ? is it hard coded ?
- any trick to do the mixed case search in the Unload Wizard ? (I tried using "z"%"u" but that did not help - I used "z"% and also "z" and checked the % check box, ...)

I have already tried to apply a filter at the object navigator. It works with Triggers, tables, etc but NOT with the packages.
You can not unload both the package and the package body for "multiple" packages (you can use save package and package body option for a single package) from the Navigator.
Unfortunately, currently the only way in SqlDeveloper (3-EA3) to unload the package and the package body of multiple packages is to use the "Database Unload" menu option.
Therefore, for unloading more than one package/package body - the filter option you suggested won't work (and is not working).
I hope this will be fixed soon before version 3 released officially.

Bing Search API: how do I know where there is no transactions left. What happens then?

I'm using Bing Search API
to search for some Images. I'm using free subscription, so I can use Bing Search for 5000 times.
How do I know that I exceed the limit? What will Bing do, when if I use this API more than 5000 times?

If you exceed your quota, the Bing Search API returns a 403 Forbidden error. You then have the option of upgrading to a higher level of service.

Can't search contacts + Google synch does not work

(1) The search field in contacts does not work. I have to go the phone app, find the person in there, then open up the contact from the phone app.(2) I have synched Google contacts with the phone's contacts. Updates to the phone's contacts transfer across sometimes immediately, but sometimes the phone goes for one month without synching. No manual sync is possible. Basically every time I want to sync a single contact for sure onto Google and onto other devices I have delete the account and reload it. Are there solutions to either of these problems?

How do I get rid of BING? It blocks my mail in AOL so that I cannot read mail. IE works and so does AOL..I want BING Search off my computer - did not ask for it do not want it!!

Search for exact phrase

(Adobe Reader XI, version 11.0.06, Windows 7 Professional SP1, 32-bit)
I'm reviewing a PDF document that has various occurrences of mixed case "plug-in", "plug in", and "plugin", sometimes the 'p' and/or 'i' is capital. I cannot find a way to make Reader XI search for and match ONLY the following 7 characters:
plug in
That's p-l-u-g-space-i-n. When performing a case-insensitive search for <plug in> (I'm using < and > as delimiters just for the rest of this message posting, can't use quotes as you'll see shortly) it matches <plug in>, of course, but it also matches <plug-in>. I don't want all those <plug-in> matches because a hyphen is not a space. (There are LOTS of matches on <plug-in> and they bury the few matches of <plug in>. So I gotta search this big list to find the few correct matches...and then wonder if I missed any.)
In the advanced search option it says to use quotes to make Reader search for an exact phrase or words. Well, when using quotes in the search box they are not delimiters of an exact phrase, they are part of the search. For example, as a sanity check I did a search on the eight characters quotation-p-l-u-g-i-n-quotation <"plugin">. That should match all occurrences of <plugin> because I enclosed it in quotation marks, right? The search for <"plugin"> produces one match - the single instance of <"Plugin"> in the entire document...so the quotes are part of the search, they don't delimit an exact phrase.
I'm sure the error is on my part, I just don't know what I'm missing here. Please help if you can.

Thanks for the quick response, Gilad D. I tried those options before posting this question, and again about 5 minutes ago just to be sure. I tried them both together and both separately, but no joy - searching for <plug in> still matched both <plug in> and <plug-in>.

NI Vision Geometric Matching not working reliably, need help

I am having issues with NI Vision Geometric Matching, where 9/10 times in my machine inspection application the template would be easily detected and 1/10 it would not be detected no matter what I change the edge threshold (for the detector) to, I have it set to 20 now, when the default is 75 or the matching score (my score set to 200, where the defult is 700). Nothing works for those 1/10 attempts. The template I'm matching is taken from an image the same exact element I'm trying to detect. The element is not occluded or scaled in any way, the lighting has not been changed, and the only differences are minimal <50 pixels changes in XY position and <30 deg changes in rotation. I have the matching settings set to 0-360 rotation and I have the search area set to full resolution of camera. The template is 1172x1134 pixels. The camera resolution is 2592x1944. I have tried taking the template and the inspection images in sharp focus and slightly out of focus to prevent features from being generated on the texture of the element I'm inspecting. Neither has helped. This seems to be an internal problem with NI Vision detector routines, I have absolutely no outside variables and no changes in light, scale, height, and focus, and I have seen SIFT algorithms work extremely well in completely bad conditions. Did anybody else have any of these issues? If I was to write a feature detector routine, I would have included an option for the detector to take the best possible guess if no exact match was found and report the score back to user, and let the user decide whether to use the result. Can something like this be done with Geometric Matching?

SOLUTION::
I found the source of the problem to be an inability of NI Vision to process geometric detection of large templates, (mine was 1000x1000 pixels from 2500x1900 camera resolution image).
This is probably due to a memory overflow or reached limit in feature count. My PC is a 32bit Windows 7 platform and has 3.5gB ram, this can perhaps be what causing the limitation. However, it could also be that the number of features in my image/template approached an internal limit within NI Vision.
My solution was
Including an IMAQ-Resample node with bilinear interpolation positioned right after the IMAQdx Snap. This effectively shrinks the captured image to a smaller resolution without cropping (mine was 1024x768). I also had to include that same node in Vision assistant before Geometric Matching in order to re-generate a new Pattern for 1 to 1 scale. Immediately the geometric detection began working 100% of the time.
Prior to this I ran a lot of tests and determined that the rotation of the actual part being inspected was the cause of misdetection. When the part was in certain orientation (I would like to say 95% of the time it was detected it was in 45 degree increments from 0 to 360 degrees, but 5% of the time it was detected at other rotations) the reported score was around 900, whereas my minimum detection score was set to 300. In any other orientation the match simply would not be found. I would like to post all my results, but again I can't because of privacy issues.
NI Vision programmers: I understand that memory allocation and data types for feature detection and recognition must be kept as small as possible in order for Geometric Matching to work as fast as it does, so perhaps attempting to match a 1000x1000 pattern is too much, even if machine process time allows for it. But unfortunately, no error was reported to me from Geometric Matching. It would be good to include some overflow error if this does occur.

ITunes Match Not Working After Update to iOS 6.1

I updated my iPhone 5 to 6.1 Now when I select a song using iTunes Match the song/artist/artwork isn't the song that plays. Has anyone else experienced this?I've turned match off to erase all songs and re-enabled it again, but I'm still getting the wrong songs. It works fine in iTunes, just not on the phone. Any ideas?

Since update iTunes Match has not worked on my iPhone. I can see playlists and songs but not albums or artists. Have searched for solution with no joy. Sorry!

Search of Personal Onlive Archive Not Working in Outlook or OWA

Whenever I try to search messages content contained in the archive mailbox from Outlook 2010 or OWA 2010, there are zero matches found even when I search for a keyword that I can see in the subject of a message in the archive.
Searching for messages works fine when searching the primary mailbox, but not the Personal Archive Mailbox.
We just enabled Archive mailboxes last week, so this the first time I tried searching and it may have never worked.
What would prevent searching of archive mailboxes from returning any results even when you are sure your are searching for text that is contained in messages in the archive mailbox?

Its not that its not available in Sp2, its that there are some improvements that I saw once Sp3 was installed.
You could always open a case with Microsoft support, though I suspect they would suggest upgrading to Sp3 first.
Note that SP2 is no longer supported after 4/8/2014
I assume that you have rebuilt the search indexes and gone through the usual troubleshooting already.

I have not done anything yet. How can archive search indexes be rebuilt?
It would the index of the database itself. If you haven't done this already, you can stop the indexing service, delete the index files themselves on disk ( same dir as the database itself) then restart the index service to rebuild the index and
recrawl.

I found a blog with more detailed instructions on how to delete the catalog. So, I deleted it and, an hour or so later, the search of the archive mailbox works in OWA. It is a small database with only a few test pilot users. I assume rebuilding
the index will take longer when we deploy it to everyone.

Missing large number of results through Bing Search API (web results only)

When making multiple calls to the Bing Web Search API (with a different $skip parameter), many queries I try seem to be missing many of the result I'd expect.
For example, searching for the string 'obama' on bing.com shows 107,000,000 results available.
When I search using the web search API using:
https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/SearchWeb/v1/Web?Query=%27obama%27&%24format=json
I get 50 results, and the '__next' parameter is given as 'https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Data.ashx/Bing/SearchWeb/v1/Web?Query='obama'&$skip=50'
If I repeat this several times, eventually I get a response with less than 50 results, and no '__next' parameter, indicating there are no more results.
However, I always get far fewer than 1000 results (I'd expect there to be at least 1000). Trying to get 1000 results (by making a request and querying against the '__next' URL), I get different numbers of results each time:
attempt 1: 355 results
attempt 2: 441 results
attempt 3: 358 results
attempt 4: 692 results
attempt 5: 692 results
attempt 6: 694 results
attempt 7: 659 results
Querying for this should always return at least 1000 results, since 'obama' has 107,000,000 results listed when searching from bing.com
Any idea what's going on here?

Sorry to respond to this old thread, but the problem persists. It exists in both the web UI and the API. The initial result page (on the web) or result object (in the API) report millions of search results, however after clicking through a number of result
pages (on the web) the total number is reduced to a few hundred. Similarly, in the API, setting the '$skip' parameter above this number does not return results. In the Obama case the first page shows 18.2 million results (http://www.bing.com/search?q=obama&go=Submit+Query&qs=bs&form=QBRE)
but from page 35 and over only 529 results are reported (e.g., http://www.bing.com/search?q=obama&qs=n&pq=obama&sc=8-3&sp=-1&sk=&ghc=1&cvid=92729d6076e24a37a9e6ee099da99a4a&first=527&FORM=PERE7). Therefore the above problem
does not seem to be related to the difference between the API and the web UI, but rather that Bing does not provide any results from a certain point (presumably because nobody is interested in them anyway). However, for data mining/web content analysis it
is desired to get all results, even uninteresting ones. Is this behaviour documented somewhere, or can it be influenced?

Keyword search with exact phrase

When I use the filter bar to search for photos I normally don't find myself in this situation. But now when the photos reaches 10 000+ this will be a problem. The searchfunction in LR does not support serching for an exact phrase like the exact phras "Tom". Exactly "Tom" not "Tommy" or "Romtomtom" or anything else containing "Tom".
The problem appears when I want to search for this exact phrase. I have a real example. I took picture on a golfcompetition called Roland Cup. The founder of the Cup is called Roland. He is not on all pictures of course. The problem occurs when I want to search for the pictures of the founder Roland. If I search with the textfield with is by far the fastest way and type "Roland" I get all the pictures from the competition. That's not how I want it.
Another example for clearance. Let's say that I take pictures of tomatoes and of course set the keyword "tomato". Later I take pictoures of tomato soup. And keyword it just "tomato soup". Then I want to search for the tomato soup pictures. Of course I now get all the pictures of the soup and the tomatoes.
Does anyone have any tip how to do without changing the persons keyword to "Roland Andersson" which is the obvious solution?

Your answer is part of my answer. Let's say that I took photos in Salt Lake City (classic example huh?). And in Salt Lake City I took pictures of a lake. I keyworded all my photos from Salt Lake City with "Salt Lake City" of course and all my pictures of lakes with lake, of course.
Now I want to filter all my photos of lakes from all over the world. I then search for - what? If I search for "lake" I get all pictures of lakes and all pictures from Salt Lake City. Not good.
And if I want to see the lakephotos in Salt Lake City, how do I perform that search in a good way?
Maybe I'm getting you wrong with the + and !. If I do, can you give me an example how to use them in this Salt Lake City problem.

Itunes match not working on windows

On my windows pc, my itunes match is not working. When i look at my library it is all greyed out and itunes tells me to sign out and then sign back in on the itunes store. But that only fixes the problem temporarily. If i close itunes and reopen it, i have to do this process all over again. If anyone has any insight as to why this is happening it would be much appreciated.
OS: Windows 8
Itunes version: 11.0.5 (newest version at the time of writing this) 64 bit

I am having exactly the same issue and also for me "everything used to work fine". It's only been in the past 2 weeks when I deleted a bunch of songs that now my songs won't play, or the next song in the playlist plays while still showing the former song, or entire albums just don't play at all.
It seems like is started for me when I unchecked "show all music library" in my Music Settings so I would only see the music that I had downloaded to my phone. But I have tried "show all music" again and turning off and on iTunes Match but nothing seems to help.
This is a real problem...hopefully Apple can get this one fixed or someone has a solution...

Bing Search API sort option

Everything works just fine when i query:
'https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/Search/v1/News?Query=%27teamnet%27&Market=%27en-US%27'.
But, when i add sort by date option, and query this:
'https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/Search/v1/News?Query=%27teamnet%27&Market=%27en-US%27&NewsSortBy=%27Date%27'
It's empty data, can someone help please?
And another question, it's possible to query with a since parameter ? Or something like that.
