Bios 2.3?
my board is in the sig, and i wanted to get the new BIOS version for it, because it says in the specs sheet, that it reads the temps correctly now.
what does that mean? what are the temp differences between the 1.9 and the 2.3 BIOS?
and, could it be possible that the new core center version didnt work, because i have the 1.9 BIOS?
Yes the 2.3 FINALY WORKS on my Northwood
Before temps with the last MB monitor 33 idle 48 full Load - After 31 idle 40 MAX Load .. Room temp 28.5C (Greek Hot summer )
Yes AT LAST , we got some real values .
We have spends a tone of money in SLK-900, AS3 , SMART FANS II, Arctic silencer VGA cooler , desktop with two large 120mm fans , SO to come MSI and with a bios update to take away all this cloud of insecurity .
Yes but we have spent our money all ready !!

Hi I'm using the 7.8 BIOS and accessing the "PC Health" Page in the BIOS locks my system. This happened before and a later BIOS cured it but it's back again (sorry for the vagueness can't remember exactly when). Has anyone else had this issue?
Bugger forgot to update SIG I have a Twinx1024 4000 mem kit @ 200FSb in there aswellCheers for the reply Wonkaboy
my first post illustrates the hazards of of inputting your specs into your sig, they will always prove wrong after about a week. I had two drives but I got fed up with the cabling so I bought a combo instead. the cpu heat thing is a good idea though, just replaced the cpu so I might take the heatsink off and recheck all the gunk and that.
oh yeah the cpu fan is direct to the psu -
Memory modules not working on HP Touchsmart 600-1050sc desktop - update BIOS ?
Hi
I just bought 2 x 4GB DDR3 PC3 12800 memory modules from Cruical (see http://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/touchsmart-600-1050sc/CT5311446)
The modules does not work on my HP Touchsmart 600-1050 sc desktop. Acc to HP specs it should support 2 x 4GB (max 8 GB in total).
But the computer does not start (I have installed the modules correct). The manufacturer advises me to update my BIOS.
I wanna ask you guys, before I try suhc a thing, is there any chance this could help?

Got a problem with BIOS in my board MSI 785GM-E51
i have a MSI 785GM-E51 board,i got a problem with the graphic card bus interface,it still run in 8x not in 16x
i try to disable a onboard graphic on BIOS,but i not find it.
and last i try to update BIOS to v2.4 n' not work too.
this a example;Quote from: Bas on 08-March-10, 21:21:36
You do not need to disable the onboard.
As for the plug-in card, there is nothing in the BIOS to make it work 8x or 16x.
Make sure your card is seated correctly, else it will work but at lower number of lanes.
What program is telling you it's 8x?

Z77A-GD65 Multiple BIOS Issues - B4 Hang, Splash Screen Blinking
Back in November 2012, I built a home server with a Z77A-GD65. Lately, I've noticed some strange things happening that I've been trying to research but to no avail.
First off, I get the B4 code hang-up whenever I'm booting. This doesn't matter if it's a cold boot or a reboot, it hangs on B4 for about 10-15 seconds, flashes 92 really quick, and then goes to A2 which it stays for another 5 or so seconds. After that I get the MSI splash screen for about 1 second, then it blinks 5 times. After that it goes into Windows just fine.
The blinking is a new issue, the B4 hang is not. I've read from multiple posts that this is a USB issue. When I disable USB legacy support, the issue goes away, but of course then I can't have legacy support. I have yet to figure out what exact device is causing it. In the process of trying to figure this out, I updated BIOS to A.A0. After updating to this version of BIOS the splash screen blinks 5 times before going to the "Starting Windows" splash screen. This is a more difficult issue to figure out why it's doing this because if you search for "BIOS" and "flash" or "flashes" or "flashing", you typically get results for flashing your BIOS. Hence, why I'm using the term "blinking". But even then I can't really find a solution out there.
I also happened to see that the website for the Z77A-GD65 is showing a newer BIOS version, but I'm unable to flash this (at least using M-Flash). I threw it on a USB, re-enabled USB legacy and whenever I click on it to install, the BIOS screen hard locks. The screen just freezes exactly where it's at in the BIOS and the mouse is dead. However, I can CTRL+ALT+DEL on the keyboard and it will reboot the system so I don't need to power cycle the computer. Not sure why this is happening either. Perhaps I need to flash this a different way? Maybe I don't need to flash this at all?
I could really use some input here on why this is happening.
As for the specs on my system, they're as follows:
i7-3770K overclocked to 4.2 Ghz by using the Turbo Mode in BIOS
32GB Komputerbay DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz DIMM with Low Profile Blue Heatspreaders Quad Channel RAM | 9-9-9-24 XMP ready
AMD PowerColor 7870 Myst Edition GPU - currently not overclocked although overclocking this doesn't seem to affect any issues

2 - 3 TB Seagate USB 3.0 external

NZXT Switch 810 gunmetal - currently have 4 fans running but plan on more, also the Switch 810 has the multi-card reader in the front with 1x SD Card, 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0
for peripherals
1 - Microsoft 360 Wireless controller adapter (legit one, not the knockoff although I had a knockoff prior to getting the real deal)
1 - Logitech Wireless USB Keyboard with Touchpad
I tried to be thorough. Thanks in advance for any help!Quote from: PirateDog on 26-August-13, 12:45:18
Probably a USB device problem.
This is a candidate, as well as mouse and keyboard. Disconnect USB devices one at a time to find the culprit.
A lot of devices running. PSU a +12V single rail or is it multi rail? A rail going to the graphics or components may not be enough amps. My best guess is the card reader.
For UEFI/BIOS flashing, select your mainboard here and use the forum flash method;
I'll definitely try unplugging some of these USB devices to see if that helps with the B4 hang issue.
As for the PSU, according to the description for it on Newegg: "Four industry-leading independent +12v rails are provided for more stable and safer power output." It has two rails going to the GPU. The GPU is a new addition to the system and so I wasn't running it until recently. The issues were occurring beforehand, but you're right that this PSU is underpowered for the rig considering PowerColor recommends a minimum of 500w. I'm going to be buying a larger capacity one sometime in the very near future. Any recommendations on good modular PSU's? What's a good way to tell what wattage to get?
Thanks for letting me know about the forum flash method. I'll be back later when I have some results. -
Satellite A300 (PSAG8E) - What is new in BIOS 1.9?
Hi,
I have a A300 PSAG8E and I would like to know what news between BIOS 1.7 and 1.9?
The new BIOS can change the fan control? On my A300 it is so loud.
Thank's, regards, cricri975.Hi!
Have you checked the Toshiba website if there is a change log available?
Normally there you can check if its a change log available or not.
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
If you cant find a change log on the Toshiba website there is no change log available. ;)

What is new in the Bios aviable for Satellite A100-PSAA9?
i canot found a chanlog :(
Hi Bela
What do you search for? Do you need informations about new BIOS version or what?
At this time you will find a newest version of BIOS on the Toshiba page.
I have checked the site and it seems the 5.10 version was released on 25/01/07 and its OS independent.
Unfortunately, you will not find any information about modification of the new BIOS version.
It seems Toshiba European site doesnt provide such details. -
Tecra M3 - Stuck at Toshiba BIOS Splash Screen
Not sure what to do here with this one...
Bit of history... we bought my niece a used laptop for surfing/movies which worked fine when I had it a few weeks setting it up and such, she had it a week and it's now dead. Some days it works, some days won't even turn on. So, after much work determined it to be a motherboard issue, and since it was a $200 DELL, we optedto buy another laptop.
I grabbed a used Tecra M3, been playing with it all week, games, surfing, you name it, seemed a gtood solid performer. I give it to her, she goes upstairs, plugs it in, powers on and just sits at the splash screen.
Two nephews have no issues with theirs, wondering if possible the power outlet surging and killing the systems? She's 16, so (hopefully) knows how to handle a laptop carefully.
Regardless... can't afford another dead laptop. Stuck at startup BIOS splash screen, won't go beyond that. Won't let me into the BIOS, and if I hit too many keeps too many times, laptop just beeps per keystroke.
Any advice?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Well, not much of a support forum... 2nd posting and neither issue I had had any responses at all.
In case someone see's this because having the same issue, the hard drive was very loose, barely making contact and fell off when I touched it. Pushed it all the way back in and works fine. Pegs on the panel designed to prevent the drive from becomming lose, not very good, still allowed the drive enough wiggle room to shake loose. -
Z68A-GD80(G3) Can no longer read external hd dock after flashing beta bios
I flashed E7672IMS.J31 Beta Bios because I was on a very old bios that was not compatible with my GTX 970 card I just bought. Flashing the bios fixed my 970 compatibility but in the process made it so my 2 external hd docks no longer worked (at this time on windows 7). self powered usb harddrives still worked though. At this time my sata mode was IDE which I thought might have had to do with it since it doesnt have hotswap. I assumed it was an issue with some drivers I installed after flashing the beta bios and I was due for upgrading/reformatting anyways so I enabled AHCI and hot swap then did a clean install of windows 8.1. The external hard drives still don't read!! I've used multiple different hard drives and different usb ports including usb 2.0. The docks are usb 3.0 and I use them daily to edit photos from my work. Any ideas of things I could try?
My pc:
intel 2500k
16gb Corsair vengeance ram
MSI 970 GTX GPU
Corsair 750w power supply
Z68A-GD80(G3) motherboard
E7672IMS.J31 Beta BiosCould the issue be that I didn't download the Intel Management Driver after installing the beta bios I flashed? Maybe I could try that first, which one from this list do I use with my pc setup?
thanks for the help!

Try going back to E7672IMS.J20 OFFICIAL. Use the recommended flashing method with provided archive only: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=163870.msg1215101#msg1215101 -
Looking for Custom BIOS for Laptop *MSI GE70 Apache Pro 061* Win 8.1 64
I installed two G Skill Ripjaws 8GB 2133 Mhz Ram chips into my Apache Pro laptop. The speeds only show up as 1000 Mhz. I am trying to get a custom BIOS so I can make the necessary changes to that will allow my memory to run up to speed. Can anyone out there help me out with this? Thanks.
Thanks, Nichrome. However, the price difference between 1600 Mhz and 2133 Mhz was not much at all. I've future proofed myself if I decide to upgrade the CPU or even get a better laptop down the road. These ram sticks should at least be backwards compatible to 1600 Mhz, but still I'm not able to make it run at that speed. I'm still going to need a custom BIOS to make those changes. I appreciate the reponse, nonetheless.

Yoga 2 Pro BIOS UI corrupted after clean install Win 8.1 Pro
Hi all.
First of all sorry for my bad English.
And here is my problem:
I just bought a new laptop "Yoga 2 Pro". Because I have a legal copy of Windows 8.1 Pro I decided to reinstall the system. Before re installing BIOS UI looked normal but after re installation of the operating system BIOS UI looks strange and can not use it. You can see it on the attached photos. I tried to reinstall the system a few times but immediately after installation BIOS UI looked like in the pictures. Interesting that after removing system from SSD, BIOS UI is starting to look normal and is fully functional. I even tried different versions of the operating system because I thought that the cause lies with the ISO file. The effect has always been the same.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?
I will be grateful for any suggestions.I did try removig the Lenovo energy management software, but that didn't work. I also then reinstalled and tried setting it to Performance mode. However, I didn't look for a Windows power mgmt solution.
What's weird is that after I powered down and used the Novo button to check the BIOS version (just to confirm what I said earlier), when I restarted Windows again I did not see the Hyper-V error message. I haven't restarted again, but will check again tomorrow morning when Windows starts again. -

bios can be done unlocked, but can't tell anything about any OC options if there such or will they works.
disable intel card will cause black screen, you cant use nvidia one without intel card

can be done eventually as well -
This BIOS business puzzles me. If you could answer me several questions, I would greatly appreciate it:
1. I have found these instructions on this site:
Quote
BIOS Recovery Feature
For AMI BIOS
Rename the desired AMI BIOS file to AMIBOOT.ROM and save it on a floppy disk. e.g. Rename A569MS23.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM
Insert this floppy disk ....
I have the A6567SMS.100. is this the AMI BIOS file mentioned ?
is this the file i need to rename to AMIBOOT.ROM ?
I downloaded it from MSI's BIOS section
2. I've gathered that a BIOS mod for the 645 Ultra was made so it would enable 1.65V instead of 1.6V. that is exactly what i need, but i have the 645 Max2-LRU. so i downloaded the 645 Ultra-C manual and saw in the BIOS screenshots they give there that it is the exact BIOS i have - AMIBIOS 3.31a. is this the BIOS version on the 645 Ultra without the "C" as well (for which i understand the BIOS mod was made)?
3. about that AMIBIOS 3.31 on the 645 ULTRA-C - there was something strange about it. the 645 ultra doesnt have a raid controller on board, so there was no RAID option in the "integrated Peripherals" settings in the BIOS, which means that the BIOS isnt EXACTLY like mine... or does the BIOS identify the onboard Peripherals automatically, meaning that it IS the same BIOS, and on my board, for example, it wouldve had the RAID option, which means i CAN use the aforementioned BIOS hack ?
4. If not, could someone hack the 645Max2-LRU BIOS for me,pretty please? (sorry for being such a nag:D) or maybe help me find ockk (by giving me the old forums URL) whom ive heard is the author of the infamous 645 BIOS hack 8)
Thanks a lot!!!Venom,
This may answer your question.

Upgrade BIOS and drivers have possibly corrupted drive. OS will not boot.
Model: Toshiba P505-8980
Part Number: P6PG0U-005002
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (upgraded from Home Premium)
6 gig RAM, 500gig HD
Actions:
I haven't started up my computer in a while. First I installed the critical and optional updates (3 total) from windows update, rebooted, and Toshiba Service Center popped up and said that there was the BIOS 3.10 update and the HDD/SSD Alert update. Through the Service Center I downloaded and installed the BIOS update, at the end it seemed as if there was an error. I rebooted the computer and everything seemed ok, so I downloaded the HDD/SSD update through the Service Center. Upon rebooting the drive would not boot. (Screen remained blank with a blinking cursor and HDD light was not on.) There are no accessories/USB devices/drives attached. After a reboot I checked the BIOS and it recognizes the Hard drive, I restored all settings in BIOS to default and rebooted. The computer started receiving stop errors (blue screen) and stuck in a reboot loop. I entered the BIOS, restored default settings again and rebooted, I could get to safe mode and it would receive stop errors trying to load disk.sys file. I also tried last known good configuration and that wouldn't work either. After a while the laptop was able for me to select to try and repair the disk using the repair utility. It reported that there may be partition errors (on the last step of recovery) and I selected to repartition the drive to factory default with the Toshiba repair tools. It got to about 98-99% and received errors at the end. I tried using a Windows disk to reinstall the OS, but it reported it couldn't install on any of the drive partitions because of an error in the boot configurations. After trying to repair again it doesn't report any disks or partitions. Currently after booting it reports now that there is an error that occurred while attempting to read boot configuration. File: \Boot\BCD|Status: 0xc000000f. Guessing that the boot sector got corrupted. After reading that BIOS isn't recommended to be installed while in windows, I'm wondering if using the service center messed something up.
Question 1: Any recommended actions to take now? No recovery disk available
Question 2: Is there a way to configure the service center to download a BIOS update and be able to save it instead of only being able to install it within windows and the service center?
Thanks in Advance!I was able to get into system recovery. This system recovery was different then the first one I came across. Underneath the Command Prompt option there was a selection for a Toshiba based restore. That is the one I tried that failed at 98-99% This system recovery just has the standard options. At first it showed me the original OS of Home Premium (recovered). I tried to repair the Home Premium and it still wouldn't work. "Startup could not repair the problem". On the many tries the probelms were either "Failed Installation" or "Partition Table". Then when I tried loading the OS it would blue screen and reboot repeatedly. So I loaded up Windows 7 Professional from a different CD to at least get the OS working. I tried Repairing but that didn't work with the same errors, and it also reported that there was no system image on the disk. I did a Custom (fresh) install and had all items copied to Windows.Old folder. So now I have an OS, BUT I can't activate it now even with the keys that I have from the old version because it said the key was only used for upgrade, not clean installs. So now I'm left with trying to find a way to get the original Home Premium image so I can load that and then upgrade since I have the keys I need. I tried doing repairs again, this time it showed me two Windows 7 Professional and one Windows 7 Home Premium. Again I tried repairing the Home Premium but it came back with the same errors. Now all that remains is just the fresh install of Windows 7 Professional that I installed but can't activate with the key. Anyway I can get/download a factory image from Toshiba? I only just bought the laptop shortly before Christmas.

How can I dual boot Windows 7 on a MBR disk and Windows 8 on GPT Disk with UEFI BIOS
I have recently build a computer. I bought a Seagate 3TB HDD which I planned to install Windows 8.1 Pro on and I also bought another Seagate 1TB HDD which I planned to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I wanted to dual boot the two systems.
However, I want to format the 3TB HDD into GPT and format the 1TB HDD into MBR mode.
Can this be done in a UEFI BIOS environment?
