  • Cannot download BIOS file for Portege Z930 - error 404

    Hi,
My tempro tool says there is a new BIOS available for my Portege Z930.
    But the link gives nothing.
Can someone fix this ? Or have the correct link
    Thank you

+1 This is very frustrating. Tempro alerts are all very well but no use at all if Toshiba can't be bothered to maintain links!
    Please fix asap, Toshiba.

  • F.24 BIOS update for 2740p

I just received an email about a new version of the BIOS available for the 2740p.
When I ran the update, I was told that the version of the BIOS was not compatable with my system.
The drivers page has the last updated driver being F.23 for the BIOS.
Was the F.24 update put out before it was actually ready?

I am trying to flash a new motherboard and the Bios update seems to be listed for F.O for 2012, but the last Bios I had was F.29 from 10/13 Sm Bios Version 2.7 Where can I find the F.29 Bios, my computer is unstable using F.0 and sometimes has trouble starting and periodocally shut down, but not a thrmal shut down.  Also crashes coming out of sleep mode.
If the community does not think the Bios is the problem then what could it be ?  I have alrready had the motherboard replaced and the laptop passes all diagnostic tests.   Any help or suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you.
You should as you did go to your P/N page driver and use the latest Bios listed there looking for bios not supported by your board is asking for trouble. And did you try to revert your current bios to a earlier version? Maybe that is what you should do before looking for a bios that isn't listed for your system.

  • Why the low availability for the S10?

The S10 has been out for a while, yet it is hard to find any retailer that carries it. I like to use Amazon because I get free 2 day shipping from them. The S10 shows up as "Available for Pre-Order" in their website. A little frustrated, I actually called them the other day to find out why it wasn't available yet. They told me that they are waiting to get a shipment from Lenovo, and that the S10 should be in stock in a few weeks. I believe Lenovo have an amazing product with the S10, hopefully they can improve availability so that it is convenient to get one. I'm wondering where you guys have gotten your S10 netbooks (my guess is that most of you ordered directy from Lenovo.)
Thanks for the great forum, by the way. I have followed it often, but I just registered so this is my first message.

    Hi,
    welcome to the forum.
My question: Have you been tried lookup product availability in Lenovo official website? I sugesst you explore product availability which ships within 3-5 business days here.
There you click and voila you are prompted to the page where lists 16 products which are available that consist S10 product.

  • Any 'raw' BIOS images available for download?

Hi all, I have a little problem. I have an old Toshiba Tecra M2, which hums along nicely with the old 1.10 BIOS. I want to update the BIOS to the newest 1.60 version. As I don't have a working CD drive, I can't boot the BIOS updater CD image (the tm20v160.exe updater allows for floppy installation, CD installation and in-Windows installation). Because of my failed CD drive, I also can't install Windows. In fact, I'm currently running Linux that I installed from a network PXE server.
So I'm stuck without Windows or any of the BIOS updater facilities (neither TM2_BIOS_W160.exe, nor the tm20v160.exe which gives the choice of CD, floppy, and in-Windows updating).
There is, however, a popular, well-working Linux utility called 'flashrom'. I can easily update the BIOS like this...
    flashrom -w rawbiosimage.bin
My dilemma is, though, that I can't seem to find a 'raw' BIOS image to use with 'flashrom'. I have also tried poking around in the EXE files to see if I can extract a BIOS image, to no avail.
So, my question is, do you know where I can find a 'raw' BIOS image for this Tecra M2, instead of the Windows BIOS updating utilities? If I can have the image, I can update the BIOS in Linux perfectly easily. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the BIOS image is packed away pretty well in there.
But, just as a thought, you could get a USB floppy drive for a few bucks.

Plenty of others out there, I just picked one at random.

  • Which is the latest BIOS version for Satellite L30-113 (PSL 33)?

    Hi everyone,
Could someone please tell me which is the letest BIOS version for my laptop since I have never upgarde it?
Also how do I install it and how do I check what is my bios version now?
    Thank you in advance

First of all the BIOS update is not necessary if your notebook functions correctly.
    But back to your questions;
On the Toshiba European driver page you will find all available drivers and also the newest available BIOS. At this time it seems to be a 3.10-WIN version
How to find out the BIOS version?
This is very easy you have to access the BIOS and then you could see the BIOS version.
To access the BIOS you have to press the F2 button immediately after notebook was started.
    Ciao

  • Custom BIOS requested for the MSI GP60 2PE Leopard

    Hi,
Is it possible to generate a BIOS update, for allowing the notebook to have 32 GB (2x16 GB) SODIMMs. It seems that the Memory Reference Code needs some adjustments to allow this. I got currently the MSI GP60 2PE Leopard (i7-4700HQ • 16 GB DIMM).
The currently available modules are IMM2G64D3LSOD8A-B15E or the IMM2G64D3LSOD8A-C15E from Intelligent Memory.
    With kind regards,
    Roland

    nope, can't do such modifications

  • Need help finding a BIOS flash tool and BIOS updates for HP Compaq nc8230 running Windows 7

I put together this laptop. It didnt come with a hardrive, and basically I installed everything from the ground up.
It is an HP Compaq nc8230, IDE Hard drive, Windows 7 32 bit. The BIOS on it is the original one. I've searched far and wide, but to no avail, it seems there's zero support for this model anymore.
Basically it was never intended to go beyond Vista, back in 2004 when this model was introduced.
The reason I am searching for some kind of BIOS update, whether it is BIOS or SMBios is to get the ACPI driver to recognize the primary laptop battery. This is crucial: it only sees both as the travel battery. Other than that, all else is fine.

    Hi:
Here is the latest BIOS update for your notebook.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
You cannot use the windows based flash because you installed windows 7, so I provided the link to the DOS based flash.
You need to use a USB floppy drive for this update.
Oh, and the card reader won't work unless you install this updated driver which is not on your PC's support and driver page.

  • BIOS update for P6000

Is there a BIOS updated for the Pavilion 6000 series ?
And if so  how do I tell which model I have? (6071 through 6085 and does it matter...)
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello ShawnyD,
There is no BIOS update for the Pavilion P6000 series from what I can tell. You can always find driver updates that are available directly from HP by visiting this link.
    http://goo.gl/7HKZw
With that being said, there doesn't appear to be much of a difference this time for which model you have as they all have the same drivers.
Sometimes it may matter as there is always some subtle differences between the versions (there has to be a reason to make a new version doesn't there!).
On your case you should have a label and that label should include information such as your model number. On some machines it's on the side others it's on the back or even some place it on the top.
See this link for help in finding the label and then identifying the model number.
