  • BIOS Binary File needed

    I need a BIOS File (.bin or whatever they use these days) and RSA key (if known to be provided for the system), for my HP_Tools Folder on a usb, as my BIOS Folder is empy in the HP-Tools Folder in my Hard Drive and cannot complete the BIOS Recovery Procedure.
    The laptop is the HP G62-450sv and I cannot find a way to extract the right one (BIOS) from the latest BIOS Update file from HP.
    Thanks.
    P.S. Deer HP please can you go back to the old days where a BIOS file was a BIOS file (binary form) and not a transcript from a movie! There is more files in an exe, than trash in the oceans...

  • Log.0000000001: log file open failed

    I have been seeing an error off and on recently where my app will go along just fine writing to dbxml - and then for no apparent reason, blow up with
    log.0000000001: log file open failed: No such file or directory
    PANIC: No such file or directory
    When I go look - there is indeed no log.00000001 in my dbxml directory.
    What is the story with log.00000001? When is it created? What would cause this creation to fail. I have seen this problem on both an XP system and a Unix system.
    I think I have made this problem go away by manually creating an empty log.0000001 file before I start my app - but this seems bogus.
    Any tips appreciated

    Hi,
    If you have multiple applications or processes using Berkeley DB XML (including our utility programs) you may have set up a separate log directory for your log files or they simply were created in another directory. For this reason you may want to consider using a DB_CONFIG file and setting the location for your log files there.
    For more information about this please look at these references:
    http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/ref/env/db_config.html
    DB_CONFIG
    http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/api_c/env_set_lg_dir.html
    http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/api_c/env_set_data_dir.html
    An example for how to insert this information in a DB_CONFIG file is:
    set_data_dir datadir
    set_lg_dir logdir

  • File Open Failed?

    H'ello
    Sometimes when I try to transfer a book I have downloaded to ADE to my ereader I get the error message: File Open Failed.Other times they are successfully transfered. These are all downloaded from my library - so all consistently the same. Help.
    Thanks in advance if you can be of assistance.

    You can't do anything at all about restrictions on digital rights.  I said
    that earlier.  But I want to take a moment to discuss the concerns you've
    included in this post.
    To start with, each ebook either has digital rights assigned or not.  So,
    if one cannot be copied, that does not mean that any others can't.  You may
    - make that will - run into other ebooks that can't be copied, and it will
    be a pain in the butt when you do.  But, don't assume that ALL ebooks are
    going to be a problem.
    I think you missed another point that I made.  This is not the fault of ADE
    - the software is just doing the job it's been programmed to do with each
    ebook you download.  You don't need to do anything to ADE.
    Let's tackle the comment you made about downloading ebooks from a library.
    Technically, the library allowed you to download the ebook - to your
    computer.  That's really all they have to do.  You can call the library and
    tell them that the library ebook you downloaded can't be copied to your
    ereader and see if they can do something about that.  I am doubtful,
    though, because publishers - not the library - don't want people to
    redistribute their ebooks, and that's one reason they block copying.
    It's possible also to download an ebook directly to your ereader IF the
    library or bookseller is set up to do that.  Most libraries are not.
    You mention that there are other times that you get the 'File Open Failed'
    message.  If you give me more information about the circumstances, I'll try
    to work with you to figure out what to do

    OK.
    Try this:
    conf t
    service compress-config
    And see if that helps.
    If not, see if you can tftp the running config off the router and TFTP it back to startup-config:
    copy run tftp
    copy tftp start
    Then you can try a reload and see if it is cured.
    I googled and found a few cases where alot of ACLs or NAT rules could cause MALOC errors (you would see those in your logs) when implemented and could manifest itself in this condition, which could be cured after the next reload, which is why I suggested that.
    Of course, dont be remote when you do this and only do it during a maintenance window.

    probably it is too much time I am not using any more Labview, but I have a problem in opening the attached data file.
     it is supposed to be a matrix of 1000x316, with integer values up to 16 bit (65k levels).
    In matlab i open it with fopen command, and assigning the format as "uint16"..
    now I want to create a quick viewer in labview, but I can not go beyond the classic binary string...
    may you help me with this stupid problem?

  • Indesign CS6   File Open Fail

    I just upgraded to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8  about 2 weeks ago and was running Indesign CS5.5 fine before the update. Started to get program crashing issues before I even updated the OS, then after, I upgraded to CS6 and now am getting crashes everytime I try to even enact an "Open" dialog. Will not even load the dialog box, just quits and then takes me to the report. Click REOPEN and sometimes the program will not even load before going right back to a crash report screen?
    I just tried the icon/resources folder fix I found which ran the program again, but still will not open or place files.

    Well seems like the program started working again fine for a couple of days, then all of a sudden started the crashing again today.

  • Execution of binary files/scripts fails

    hi there,
    I spend hours seeking for a solution to my problem... or at least a
    cause for its occurrence :|
    I wanted to set up a policy enabling remote management on certain
    clients. Therefore I have to enable XDMCP. Novell was that kind and
    supplied a script (/opt/novell/zenworks/bin/novell-rm-fixrl.sh) for
    exactly that issue. In my case it takes the following parameters:
    -dm kdm -cf /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc -r enable
    it does work quite fine:
    pluto:/../bin # ./novell-rm-fixrl.sh -dm kdm -cf
    /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc -r enable
    Shutting down service kdm
    done
    Starting service kdm
    done
    ENABLED
    unfortunately it doesn't work that fine when being executed as a binary
    policy or script. The options you can configure in the 'new policy'
    dialog are pretty straight forward and leave hardly any space for
    screwing up yet it doesn't work :)
    It always reports the following error:
    The policy enable_xdmcp was enforced and the program launched did not
    complete the execution.
    there's no debug information in
    /var/opt/novell/log/zenworks/zmd-messages I could use. Maybe another
    place I don't know of?
    Simple scripts like
    #!/bin/bash
    echo 'blabla' >>/tmp/messages
    work *confused*.
    Any suggestions? Oh and by the way... how do you determine when the next
    policy update call is being made? Issue a 'rug sch' and look for
    maintenance? I set execution to "relative to refresh".. that should
    trigger policy updates every maintenance interval right?
    kind regards
    JR

    Joseph,
    a friend told me this:
    > unfortunately it doesn't work that fine when being executed as a binary
    > policy or script. The options you can configure in the 'new policy'
    > dialog are pretty straight forward and leave hardly any space for
    > screwing up yet it doesn't work :)
    > It always reports the following error:
    > The policy enable_xdmcp was enforced and the program launched did not
    > complete the execution.
    The Remote Execute policy has a field called 'Maximum Waiting Time' which by default is set to 'Wait till the program completes the execution'. I think that in your policy this has been changed to 'Do not wait'. If you set the option to 'Wait for completion' you should get a message like 'The policy xyz was enforced and the program configured in the policy was successfully executed'
    When a policy is set to 'Do not wait', zlm will launch the program and exit. Since zlm does not wait for the launched program/script to complete, the status message says 'The policy abc was enforced and the program launched did not complete the execution.' This does NOT mean that the launched program failed. It means that the status (success/failure) is not known. If the launched program is very small and completes before zlm exits, you will get the appropriate status.
    That is why when you give a simple echo script you get a success message.
    In order to know if the launched program/script succeeded or failed, use the (default) 'Wait for completion' option.
    If the third option 'Wait for x seconds' is used the message will depend on whether the launched program completed or not after 'x' seconds.
    Hope this clarifies.
    > how do you determine when the next policy update call is being made?
    Do a rug sch and look for the date & time specified for Service Refresh, under 'Next'
    Does that help?

  • How to open and read binary files?

    How do I open and read Binary files?

    Did you  look on The Unarchiver's web site where it has a link to older versions? http://theunarchiver.googlecode.com/files/TheUnarchiver3.2_legacy.zip
    The best thing to do is ask your friends what programs they used to produce these files, or at least what format files they are producing.  Otherwise it's like being shown a car and given a bundle of 200 keys with no idea to which one to use, or even if any of them work with that car.
    Using The Unarchiver will likely not do anything because it too will not know what format files are involved, and they may not even been in an archived format.  If they sent you a Word file without telling you (a favorite of Windows users to do  -- it drives me crazy when they could have just sent them in plain text), The Unarchiver won't open them.  If it's a picture file then using Hexedit will just show you a bunch of unintelligible stuff as shown in an earlier post, though you may see a line of text providing a hint.
    As I said earlier, often .bin may be an executable program which needs another program to actually interpret it.  That's what Java is trying to do.  Still, it may think it can execute the file, but it is highly unlikely somebody would send you an executable program (and if they did I would not trust it).  For all you know it may be a Windows virus.

  • How can I open different binary files from BLOB column ?

    If we store some type of binary file (XLS, DOC, PDF, EML and so on, not only pictures) in BLOB column how can I show the different contents? We use designer and forms 9i with PL/SQL.
    How can I copy the files from BLOB to file in a directory or how can I pass BLOB's content to the proper application directly to open it?

    The mime type is just a string as explained above (e.g. application/pdf...). There are lot of samples here and on metalink.
    E.g. add a column mime_type varchar(30) to your blob table. Create a procedure similar to the following:
    PROCEDURE getblob
    (P_FILE IN VARCHAR2
    IS
    vblob blob;
    vmime_type myblobs.mime_type%type;
    length number;
    begin
         select document, mime_type into vblob,vmime_type from myblobs where docname = p_file;
         length := dbms_lob.getlength(vblob);
         if length = 0 or vblob is null then
         htp.p('Document not available yet.');
         else
         owa_util.mime_header(vmime_type);
         htp.p('Content-Length: ' || dbms_lob.getlength(vblob));
         owa_util.http_header_close;
         wpg_docload.download_file(vblob);
         end if;
    exception
         when others then
         htp.p(sqlerrm);
    END;
    Create a DAD on your application server (refer to documentation on how to create a DAD).
    Display the blob from forms (e.g. on a when-button-pressed trigger):
    web.show_document('http://myserver:port/DAD/getblob?p_file=myfilename','_blank');
    For storing blobs in a directory on your db server take a look at the dbms_lob package.
    For storing blobs in a directory on your app server take a look at WebUtil available on OTN.

  • How do you open multiple binary files and plot them all on the same graph?

    I have three different binary files and I want to plot all 3 of them onto a graph.
    I am familiar with opening and reading a single binary file. (Thanks to the help examples!)
    But to do multiple numbers at the same time?  I was thinking of putting 3 different 'reading from binary file' blocks with the rest of the 'prompts', 'data type', etc.. and then connecting them on the same wire.
    However, I got into a mess already when I tried to read one .bin file to dynamic data type --> spectral measurements --> graph waveform.  The error was Not enough memory to complete this operation...  Why is that?  That didnt happen in the help example "Read Binary File.vi"...  Has it got something to do with the dynamic data type?
    Thank you for your time.
