BIOS CD-based update using the USB CD-ROM?

I'm trying to update my x200 BIOS, but since I'm running Vista x64 I am unable to use the BIOS updater directly from Windows.
Consequently, I downloaded a bootable CD-ISO from the Lenovo support site and burned a bootable CD-ROM. Unfortunately, I am unable to start the updater from it. I changed the boot order and it does spin up the CD and boots _something_. But then it just shows a blank screen and a blinking cursor on the top left corner. Eventually, the CD-ROM will stop spinning and it just sits there.
I tried to use a different program to burn the ISO but I get the same effect :-(
I searched a bit and found that apparently the Lenovo BIOS-Update ISOs for the previous X60/X61-series did _not_ work from the USB CD-ROM, only when used with a CD-ROM in the docking station:

Do people know if this is still the case for the x200 series? On the Lenovo page, it does say that this x200 BIOS update CD should work with both "the USB types or Ultrabay Slim types". However, my experience suggests that it still does not work. Have others been able to make this work?
cheers,

Fixed:  Burned cd with Active ISO Burner, instead of Roxio.
Found the fix here.
