BIOS - Full Theft Protection module Activation - Current setting Permanently disabled

Hi,
Recently purchased a Lenevo X301 laptop and installed with Windows XP. Unfortunately while changing the BIOS setiings, i have selected permanently disable option for computrance anti theft agent under Security settings.
Now I have settings are as follows..
Full Theft Protection module Activation
Current setting - Permanently disabled
Remote Diaable module activation
Current settin - Permanently disabled
I tried to change it enabled state in several ways, but i am not successful, Could you please help me how to activate computrance agent.
Also one more question, do i need to purchase the Computrace LoJack to activate Anri Theft agent in my laptop.

Regarding your keyboard problem, it seems to be a very low-level problem. The driver cannot access the Control Registers on the Keyboard. By going down from your error message to the lowest level, one can see that it's probably a simple "outb" operation (write data on a specified address, shouldn't fail if the address is correct...) that doesn't succeed.
So I think you defintely need to look in your BIOS if you didn't deactivate something when upgrading, or messed with some address space, or many things I cannot think of right now.

Do the following steps:
       1.       Start the Visual Administrator .
       2.       Choose Global Configuration   u2192Server u2192Services u2192com.sap.portal.pcd.gl .
The properties of the service are displayed:
                            a.      Pcd.Pl.WriteProtectActivated defines whether or not write-protect mode is activated. By default it is set to false .
                            b.      Pcd.Pl.WriteProtectCause describes the reason that write-protect mode is activated. This information appears in the log files.
       3.       Deactivate write-protect mode by entering false as the value for Pcd.Pl.WriteProtectActivated .
       4.      C lick Update and then click Save .
A confirmation dialog box opens.
       5.       To apply the changes to all cluster elements, click Yes .
       6.       To reset the default values, click the Reset Default Global Properties icon .
This will deactivate the write protect mode.

Do I need to get an ID theft protection subscription?

I'm new at this so please excuse my ignorance.
Because I do virtually all of my banking, bill paying, and shopping online, I'm worried about
ID theft. I checked out a couple of them and they are not compatible with mac. I know I don't need anti-virus or spyware software, which come included.
Worthwhile to pursue and if so, what services work for my mac & iphone?

I think you are mostly in uncharted waters here, but I must admit to have no idea what protection is available to be provided on the Windows side of the world, so I can't compare it to what I know is available on the OS X side.
Macworld published this article a couple of years ago -- Protect your privacy: avoid identity theft which is as good as any advise I could give today.
There is PrivacyScan from SecureMac. Have not tried it, but probably will check it out shortly to see what it offers.
ClamXav was suggested earlier (full disclosure: I do uncompensated tech support on the ClamXav Forum). The ClamAV scan engine has rudimentary support for Data Loss Protection (Social Security and Credit Card numbers) but it is disabled by default.
Intego has included Identity Scrubber in it's home use Premium packages.
A quick Google reveals that almost all of the major OS X A-V vendors claim to offer ID Theft protection.
I don't know anything about YourIdentitySafe, but they seem to have a lot of data, suggestions and recommendations on this subject. I don't see any reviews that include OS X software, however, just

Accidentally deleted my BBID associated with Anti-theft protection that was still on.

On July 15 I bought $600 BB Passport from a vendor at a popular IT market in Bangkok, Thailand. Currently, Blackberry is completely gone from Thailand, no service provider nor authorized dealer for BB Passport. I accidentally deleted BBID used with Anti-theft protection feature and it was on when this happened. I can't remember exactly how that happened and why it was so easy to delete the BBID without knowing I actually did. I recreated new BBID by using the same email and question for recovery but it did not work as my device won't accept it and kept saying the Anti-theft protection is on. Unfortunately I have tried so many times to put the password associated with the accidentally deleted BBID but it still did not work. Now the BB passport is like an expensive brick to me. I have taken the photo of my old BBID that was deleted. I have my BBM Pin that was set up by using this old BBID. I know the screen name of it, except one thing the password that no matter how I tried it was not accepted to my device. Things got worst when the vendor I bought the device from reformatted my device and i still CANNOT use my new BBID to set up the device. I have no carrier as BB passport is not official to Thailand. Please help i am so desperate. I have been waiting for so long to have this device. I took the risk of knowing that no provider in Thailand. Thank you so much

I might be able to help you some more. If your able to log onto protect.blackberry.comAnd you can see your deviceGo to manage devicesNear the bottom select removeThen log out of Protect web page. Then go back to the device,Enter the password to many times until it wipes clean.If it didn't power off and back on during the wipe then do that first. Now you should be able to log onto the device using your protect.blackberry.com ID and password You should be all set than Unfortunately I don't have an support email for them

Show active current date and time in a Form continuously

I am use Oracle Form 10.1.2 in Windows 2000.
Can we show an active current date and time in a Form continuously?
Perhaps in the main menu form.
So the user can see the moving time, instantly when the time change (withour pushing F5 for refreshing the form)

Here is a quick, untested suggestion that sketches out one way of approaching this.
If you only require updates every 60 seconds, you can use the TIMER built-in to create a repeating timer with a sixty-second delay. Each time the timer expires, update a text item to reflect the current time (obtained by selecting SYSDATE from DUAL on the database.)
If the time is to be updated precisely when the minute changes, use two timers -- the same one described above, and a one-shot. Before you create either timer, run the following query:
SELECT 60-TO_NUMBER(TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'ss')) FROM DUALThis will give the number of seconds remaining until the minute changes. Use this value to set the duration of the one-shot timer. When it expires, create the repeating sixty-second timer.
There is a good possibility that this method will not be terribly precise, depending on factors like server resources, user load and network distance. A more network-friendly approach would be to use a JavaBean that relies on the PC's system timer to track the passage of time, and calculates server time based on the observed time difference between PC & server.

SOBJ current setting (oss note 135028, 77430)

I'm working in a ECC6 R/3 system.
In according with sap notes 135028 and 77430 I would modify standard current setting for some views used in customizing transaction.
Reading note 135028 I follow the indicated solution :
"...open the IMG and display the IMG structure. Position the cursor
on the corresponding IMG activity and select the menu path "Edit -> Display
IMG activity". On the following screen, select the Tab "Maint.objects". A
list of the assigned Customizing objects is displayed. By double-clicking
on the corresponding row, navigate to the Customizing object and set the
Indicator "Current settings" directly......."
At this point the system requires to entry a key for standard object modification.
Is it allowed from sap to modify this kind of object?
My boss asked me to show him a script from sap where it's clear that it's a normal activity to change a standard object in this cases.
Can anyone help me?

OB52 need not be made available to users. There are alternative transactions in SAP Easy Access to achieve the same functionality ready-to-use.
One such txn is S_ALR_87003642.
Try it, and if it suits your purpose ask your BASIS team to give users access to this txn. That should do it.
If you are in the mood to explore, another (a little more sophisticated) option is S_PEN_05000130.

If there are no custom implementations of BADI COMPONENT_LOADING, then it will be as indicated by Naresh in the previous reply, a query to table BSPWD_EHSET_ASGN with the client in the where clause should do. This is precisely what is done in the default implementation of BADI COMPONENT_LOADING, in method GET_ACTIVE_ENHANCEMENT_SET.
If there is a custom implementation of BADI COMPONENT_LOADING then each user can have his own enhancement set assigned. Method GET_ACTIVE_ENHANCEMENT_SET of the custom implementation of the BADI would return the active enhancement set.

CO14 - Wrong time (Activity Currently to be confirmed)

Hi experts,
we are facing the following problem.
If we change shift in workcenter, the "Activity Currently to be Confirmed" in CO14 (AFRU-ISM01) is changing.
So also the "calculated costs" in CO02 are changing.
Example (confirmation via co19):
B10 = 01.01.2012 - 22:01:27
B40 = 02.01.2012 - 05:55:35
afru-ism01 is calculated with 22,517 MIN (so much to low)
After correcting the shift in CR02 (=00:00:00 to 23:59:59) and canceling the confirmation above and making the SAME CONFIRMATION, afru-ism01 is calculated with 474,117 MIN ( so its correct now).
We don't understand, what the shift-definition has to do with "calculated time".
Because if our workers would make extra hours, we always have to change the shift in workcenter, as others the time would not be "billed".
Can someone please explain the depeding?

Well if you r doing the activity time ticket conformation means definitely it will calculate the activity time and it will be calculated according to the formula maintained in the standard value key.
So, by this we the HR module people can calculate the wages how many hrs to particular work center.

Hello this is happening to us also (minus the Bluetooth speaker). We can't figure out what is causing the data usage. I turned off mobile data as soon s I activated the device, and got the message that unless I am connected to WiFi.....(that is exactly what I wanted). We watched Netflix for about three hours, then the alerts started. Like you we have many devices connected and never used over 2GB now all of a sudden we have used it in a matter of hours. My husband called Verizon and got the usual doubting Thomas response. I understand that they don't know my device settings. So over the phone we check all the settings and turned off every possible culprit eating up the data and end the call. By now I have purchased another gig for the month! Assured we are NOT using mobile data, we continue on the IE path to bliss. HA! A few hours later I check the mobile data usage on the Verizon website and that darn thing is still using data. After two more phone calls and two VERY uneventful trips to the local store we were told to take out the sim card. This has stopped the data usage, but it defeats the purpose of having the data plan. I could have just stuck with my Surface. Verizon sent us a new sim card. Its been installed and I have set my homepage to Verizon mobile data usage (just kidding) but I am on that site a lot. I am surprised at the number of complaints about this device. When we called the Verizon support acted as though this was the first time they had heard about this. As per the FIM best practice guide, we are trying to disable full-text indexing on the FIM Service database, during the initial load using:
ALTER FULLTEXT INDEX ON [fim].[ObjectValueString] SET CHANGE_TRACKING = MANUAL
ALTER FULLTEXT INDEX ON [fim].[ObjectValueXml] SET CHANGE_TRACKING = MANUAL
However, we get the following warning:
Warning: Full-text change tracking is currently enabled for table or indexed view 'fim.ObjectValueString'
Does anyone know how we can solve this?

How to realize current setting for TCODE FQ_FPCJ_NC?

Hi all,
does anybody knows how to change transaction FQ_FPCJ_NC into a current setting? FQ_FPCJ_NC is used in PSCD for assigning a clerk to a specific cash desk (transaction FPCJ). Although it is part of the standard area menu S000, it opens a transport after an entry / a change was made, that means every change has to be transported and every new assigned clerk has first to be created in the developing system. I cannot find neither any maintainance object for transaction SOBJ nor any customizing activity.
Does anybody has a helping idea?

Yeah I read the thread earlier too and it was helpul to some extent.
I used CALLBACK routines to get the data and then passed the old and new structures to BUP_MEMORY_BUT000_FILL to populate the data.
But even then that field is not getting set.
Is there something else that i need to do after passing changed structure to BUP_MEMORY_BUT000_FILL?
I posted on that thread too but didn't get any reply from Paul
'BUPA_GENERAL_CALLBACK returns the tables LT_BUT000_OLD n new. Both contain the values of BUT000 that are present on BP before my changes are saved.

Endpoint Protection history data is deleted after 365 days, it can be controlled in the Site Maintenance task "Endpoint Protection is Delete Aged Endpoint Protection Health Status History Data"
There is also a setting for "Delete Aged Threat Data" which is set to 30 days. It depends on which level of details you are after but it sounds like you should increase the "Delete Aged Threat Data"

Tecra R840-16J - reboot with the fan at full power and no activity

Has anyone found this behavior too?
After rebooting (this happened a couple of times...with the hdd and today with the ssd so it should not be their fault) the windows or toshiba screen do not appears only a black screen, no disc activity and the fan works like crazy!!! I stop this after 1-2 minutes because nothing happen!

Hi, yestarday I restarted the computer, I would say 10-12 times...and this event appeared again one time, apparentelly with no reason! After 3 min, the fan was at full with no disc activity! Turn off the laptop and turn it on put everything to normal!!!!
I know that my R840 have a fan test (cooling test or something like that....I'm at work now), is it possible that test runs automatically for any reason?
But maybe, as you say, I should check the Bios! But what is strange to me is that this only happens from time to time!

I forgot my blackberry ID and the security question. I wiped my phone and just realized that i have the anti theft protection on my phone. It will not allow me to create a new one. Am I screwed? Is there a way to create a new one on my device?
