BIOS information about upcomming K7N2 BIOS'ses...

Hi,
As some know, moderators get the latest BIOS'ses when in beta stage.
Don't ask about it as we are not allowed to spread them!
But we are testing the following at the moment:
K7N2G 3.4Beta8
K7N2G-ILSR 1.3Beta6
The following fixes can be expected in the next release:
Memory compatibility fixes
Temperature drop of 10C on the measurement
CoolerXP won't hang the system, doesn't cool but at least it doesn't hang :D
APIC fixes
CPU table updated for Barton CPU's.
That's all I know at the moment.
Release date unknown yet, but my guess is that it won't take very long.
Don't ask me more as I don't know.

well, that's good news, some questions:
1) the k7n2g bios will encompass the k7n2g-l?
2) "memory compatibility improvements", can you expand a little more on this subject, meaning, is this fix for a specific vendor ram/type?
3) temperature drop for what measurement?, the CPU?(because i always thought it was a little higher)
when *estimatively* can we expect to see this new bios?

  • Need Tecra A3 BIOS information

    I need to download the full BIOS information (contained in the BIOS chip) for my Toshiba Tecra A3 SP611.
    I do not need a Winphlash upgrade, but the full information, to overwrite the corrupt information on my BIOS chip.
    Can anyone advice me where to get it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Unfortunately, you will be not successful to overwrite the corrupt information on my BIOS chip.
    The Toshiba driver page provides the newest BIOS Win-version. This BIOS can be updated under running Windows OS. You have to execute the exe file. Thats all.
    But if your BIOS chip is corrupt then you should contact the ASP in your country for the help and details about the further handling!
    Sorry but there is not other possibility to fix the faulty BIOS ROM chip!

  • Confusion about 990FXA GD65v2 bios.

    So I just got the mobo listed in the title and I am trying to find out 100% positively if it will support Vishera (plan on getting a FX 6300) right out of the box. I keep seeing things that say it will but then I keep seeing things that contradict what I previously read. Even the box has a sticker that says B2 stepping ready but B2 stepping would be Zambezi, Vishera has C0 stepping. The US MSI page for this board has also never been updated so it really is of no help. The non-US MSI page has the nonV2 version listed but it says Vishera is supported by the 19.9 bios, which contradicts the New Egg review that claims the V2 is loaded with 19.7 bios and supports Vishera. I am very confused and just want to know if I can buy an FX 6300 for this mobo and not have to worry about flashing the bios to get it to work. Looking for definitive answers on this.

    Wont swear by it but most V2 are V2 for the vishera fix.  The only real issue with the Vishera is extreme overclocking.  My fx8350 runs flawlessly at 4.2/4.6turbo.  Havent had luck getting to 4.8.  So it is worth it.

    that is the thread most of us discuss issues and the round about to deal with any issues.  I give detailed information about my issues with this mobo and how I got my stability and explain issues and the problems they caused.  Could help you decide further.

  • Information about the upcoming version of WLST

    Satya,
    could you please share some information about the new features of the upcoming version of WLST.
    I am asking because currently I am trying very hard to implement Python code to setup our entire WLS 8.1 domains (including custom MBeans with our security providers).
    This is maybe useless because with the new version of WLST everything is already available.
    Will the new version WLST support the following topics?
    - creation / deletion of security realms (including display name)
    - creation / deletion of security providers
    - addition / removal of security providers to / from a security realm
    Against these topics I am currently fighting most :-)
    Does anyone have corresponding Python code to share?
    Cheers,
    Torsten

    Torsten, Attached 4 scripts that add atn, atz, audit and remove a provider.
    This script creates a new security ATN Provider of type com.bea.atn.MyNewAtnProvider
    with object name Security:Name=myrealmMyTestAuthenticator
    # The realm name in your weblogic server
    realmName = 'Security:Name=myrealm'
    realm = ObjectName(realmName)
    # The default Identity asserter in your wls
    atnIdentProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultIdentityAsserter'
    atnIdentProv = ObjectName(atnIdentProvName)
    # The default authenticator in your wls
    atnProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuthenticator'
    atnProv = ObjectName(atnProvName)
    # The new provider that you would like to create
    newAtnName = 'Security:Name=myrealmMyTestAuthenticator'
    newAtnProv = ObjectName(atnTestProvName)
    # create the provider
    create(newAtnName, 'com.bea.atn.MyNewAtnProvider')
    # Now add your newly created authenticator to the default realm
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('AuthenticationProviders', array([atnProv,atnIdentProv,newAtnProv], ObjectName)))
    # set the realm pointer back on the newly created provider
    mbs.setAttribute(newAtnProv, Attribute('Realm', realm))
    # change the controlFlag's
    mbs.setAttribute(atnProv, Attribute('ControlFlag', 'OPTIONAL'))
    mbs.setAttribute(newAtnProv, Attribute('ControlFlag', 'REQUIRED'))
    This script creates a new Authorizer of type com.bea.atz.MyNewAtzProvider
    with object name Security:Name=myrealmMyAtzAuthorizer' and its to the default realm
    # this is the default security realm
    realmName = 'Security:Name=myrealm'
    realm = ObjectName(realmName)
    # This is the default authorizer
    atzProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuthorizer'
    atzProv = ObjectName(atzProvName)
    # New atz provider that you would like to create
    myAtzProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmMyAtzAuthorizer'
    atzProv = ObjectName(myAtzProvName)
    # create your new authorizer of type com.bea.atz.MyNewAtzProvider
    create(myAtzProvName, 'com.bea.atz.MyNewAtzProvider')
    # Add the newly created authorizer to the realm
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('Authorizers', array([atzProv,atzProv], ObjectName)))
    # set the authorizer on the realm
    mbs.setAttribute(atzProv, Attribute('Realm', realm))
    This script creates a default auditor and adds it to the realm
    audProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuditor'
    audProv = ObjectName(audProvName)
    create(audProvName,'weblogic.security.providers.audit.DefaultAuditor')
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('Auditors', array([audProv], ObjectName)))
    mbs.setAttribute(audProv, Attribute('Realm', realm))
    This script removes the deference to the Atn provider that was added and deletes the
    atn provider
    # The realm name in your weblogic server
    realmName = 'Security:Name=myrealm'
    realm = ObjectName(realmName)
    # The default Identity asserter in your wls
    atnIdentProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultIdentityAsserter'
    atnIdentProv = ObjectName(atnIdentProvName)
    # The default authenticator in your wls
    atnProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuthenticator'
    atnProv = ObjectName(atnProvName)
    delAtnName = 'Security:Name=myrealmMyTestAuthenticator'
    delAtnProv = ObjectName(atnTestProvName)
    # This will remove the deference of delAtnProv from the realm
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('AuthenticationProviders', array([atnProv,atnIdentProv], ObjectName)))
    delete( delAtnName, 'com.bea.atn.MyNewAtnProvider' )
    Thanks,
    -satya
    Satya,
    I will try to put together a script that can dothis
    and post it.That would be great.
    Thanx.

  • K7N2 BIoS

    any1 no what bosekiller do to he K7N2 BIoS that make it where u cnat frash it out regular like? i ask him b4, but he alwaays gives me dumb link to thred where he find "cure" for K7N2 board. he never answer me.
    so any1 no what up w/ his BIoS????
    thank in advance

    He is relating to this thread: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=111815.0 , where he gave BK a hard time asking for an oc bios for K7N2 Delta.
    I think he said: "Does anyone know what Bosskiller did to the K7N2 bios that makes it ...... (can't understand that passage). I asked him before but he always gives me a dumb link to a thread where he finds the cure for the K7N2. He never answers me.
    So does anyone know what's up with his bios?"

  • K7N2 BIOS: AGP Clock Value?

    In the release BIOS version for the K7N2, should the AGP clock be kept at default (66mhz) or increased to the clock value of the video card? Oh, if anyone can tell me what ratios to use with 768mb PC2700 RAM in the BIOS, that would be helpful, as well. Thank You.

    the agp clock frequency thing runs with personal prefrences.......sometimes a small overclock is good...but not necessary.....
    the memory question.....if you are running a cpu with a fsb of 333mhz auto for memory is ok since you have 333mhz ram......but if it is a 266mhz cpu then I would run it @ 1.1 with fsb for best performance all around....this way you can up the fsb of the cpu and always keep you ram in synch.

    Here is a good guide for your Bios settings :

    Your temps should be somewhere in the low 30's C idle and somewhere under 40C under load. That would be an average but not an absolute. I run 27 to 29C idle and in the mid 30's under full load.
    Thank You!

  • IMPORTANT Technical Information RE: 890FXA-GD70 - BIOS/Memory/Boot-UP Issues

    I have been having the same problem (see my post...user 'n9nu') as many others have and I have been researching this problem for a month now and come across a few important pages on other web-sites that address this very problem. While I have not read over 100 percent of them completely, they all pertain specifically to these situations with several users being able to resolve their issue(s) with the following sources. Several of the posts mention the instability with a few of the BIOS versions (1.8 and 1.9), so read up on these as well.

    http://www.computerforum.com/179382-msi-mobo-help.html - More BIOS 'FF' issues
    The above references are just several posts that discuss and in some cases alleviate problems with this motherboard. Upon trying one of the more popular methods to attempt a boot-up, I successfully booted in BIOS  bypassing that rude 'FF' BIOS code....however the happiness was short lived as I configured some settings in the BIOS and when I restart was presented with the FF again.
    The method I used was to place one (1) stick of DDR3 memory in memory slot 4 (the furthest away from the processor) and was kinda surprised that it worked....and while happy, I didn't hold my breath.
    I have BIOS version 1.9 currently installed and have been noticing many problems with that particular release, so I will be attempting to re-flash the BIOS to either 1.7 to bypass some of the other issues being reported or try version 1.8 again. I will keep on posting when I receive further information or come across a sure fix for this (a user oriented fix that is)...otherwise, it is going back for another RMA.
    I am working with someone that I know that tricks out BIOS code in order to enhance/unlock/fix them and he is presently looking at it using the exact same hardware that I am to try and find out just what the exact issue(s) are and how to resolve them. This, of course, has nothing to do with MSI, but rather an attempt by someone who programs these for a living just to see whats what.
    Tim
    ARS N9NU

    After spending 12-14 hours on the problem i can now safely give a detailed report of the problem
    Disregard what i said before as they were just symptoms of another problem
    It boots 100% stable if DIMM slots 1 2 and 3 are empty
    it does not matter the make or model of the ram in slot 4 but the system boots and works flawlessly.
    I ran extensive tests with prime 95 and memory tests.  It works flawlessly in this configuration.
    As soon as a stick of ram goes into any other slot  either singular or dual channel the board does a rapid boot cycle
    this constant power on and off if left too long corrupts the bios settings
    bios setting problem is rectified by putting one stick of ram into dimm 4 and letting it reset itself in a stable enviorment
    also while the system is stable i used the MSI software to check all the voltages and everything appeared normal
    However
    if i make the system boot with standard memory configuration  such as one in DIMM 1  or 1+2  i get odd voltage readings
    (extremely unstable if im lucky enough to get it to boot)
    the NB voltage quickly fluctuates between 1.15  and 1.7+ every min or so  like if there are micro spikes in voltage
    While this happens the 2 lights next to the slots indicating i believe the dram power phase blink
    But
    When i only put a ram stick into DIMM 4 only one light for the powerphase is lit and it is stable
    So this so far is not a corrupt BIOS chip to me but rather a symptom of another problem
    I have another CPU coming in the mail tommorow  I will test it out along with a few other boards
    a 1090T
    2 890fxa-gd70's and some others
    If i have a hardware problem it will surely be singled out
    I will find out what the problem is with this board and post my result.
    If anyone has any suggestions to make this board work please comment

    One question why do you feel you need more voltages?
    Is the system unstable?..........or do you just want to overclock more?

  • After restoring BIOS from USB still HP BIOS Utility starts

    Hi guys, after a BIOS update my HP Pavilion 15-e026sl not boot anymore, it does the following scheme:
    I press the power button
    Power, Bloc Maiusc and wifi lights and fan on but dark screen
    2/3 seconds and everything shut down
    The pc automatically reboot with bloc maiusc light flashing
    HP Bios update starts with the need to recovery Bios because it's corrupted
    Flash the Bios, but when verifying the bios flashed I got error
    Everything restart from point 4
    So, I read on this forum and on the HP Support Center how to create the famous "HP_TOOLS" USB stick in order to restore the BIOS image. (With another pc) From the Support Page of my Pavilion 15-026sl I downloaded the latest BIOS update (F.23), I started the .exe file and I created the USB Stick choosing the correct option.
    Then I put the USB on the Pavilion and with Win + B + Power combination the pc started to recover BIOS from USB, and this is the log that I extracted from the USB stick:

    Flash the Bios

    Flash the Bios
    Verifying BIOS image
    Verification of BIOS image failed
    The pc reboot itself and everything restart from point 2.
    Infinite Loop! How can I do to resolve this issue? It's something broken on the mobo? Or do I have to clear the CMOS? Or something similar?
    P.S.: My warranty ended.
    P.S.2: I put USB Stick in USB2.0 port and not in USB3.0 ports
    P.S.3: I have also tried to:
    Remove HDD and power on
    Remove RAMs simultaneously and power on
    Remove CD/DVD-RW and power on
    Holding Power On for 1 minute with no external power and power on
    But nothing's changed
    Thank you to anyone who wants to help me

    02/01/15 00:49:44 BIOS Update Process Complete
    02/01/15 00:49:44 BIOS Update Successful
     Everything's gone successful, the pc reboot and I get the same scheme of situation before restoring the BIOS, with a little difference:
    I press the power button
    Power, Bloc Maiusc and wifi lights and fan on but dark screen
    2/3 seconds and everything shut down
    The pc automatically reboot with bloc maiusc light flashing
    HP Bios update starts saying 'The System BIOS is being recovered' (but if I have already done it from USB?!)
    Flash the Bios
    Verifying BIOS image
    Flash the Bios
    Verifying BIOS image
    Verification of BIOS image failed
    The pc reboot itself and everything restart from point 2.
    Infinite Loop! How can I do to resolve this issue? It's something broken on the mobo? Or do I have to clear the CMOS? Or something similar?
    P.S.: My warranty ended.
    P.S.2: I put USB Stick in USB2.0 port and not in USB3.0 ports  That is a good plan
    P.S.3: I have also tried to:
    Remove HDD and power on
    Remove RAMs simultaneously and power on This will not help
    Remove CD/DVD-RW and power on
    Holding Power On for 1 minute with no external power and power on
    But nothing's changed
    Thank you to anyone who wants to help me
    Download the current BIOS Rompaq on another Windows PC. Double click it to open it. Choose the" create a recovery USB flash drive to use on devices with corrupted BIOS." option
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-134117-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
    Plug a 2GB or larger capacity flash drive into an available port
    Once the recovery usb flash drive has been created, plug it into your pavilion 15 notebook and press the power button to boot to it and write a fresh bios rom file into the CMOS ROM to replace the corrupted one currently there.

    No one will give you that. You only can download to update the bios you will not get the source code and any bios you download and edit is use at your own risk. And since we have no P/N no one can direct you to the BIOS update your system needs. If HP support didn't give you this information why do you think the HP user are going to have access to that information.

  • Toshiba M65 " Unknow Project ID!!! BIOS Version ??? " BIOS error

    Toshiba M65 Unknow Project ID!!! BIOS Version ??? BIOS error
    Hi, I'd greatly appreciate if anyone can share some insight on this error -
    Environment :
    Toshiba laptop M65-S9092 (~ 2005)
    XP Pro sp3
    Intel Celeron 2.00 GHz
    2 GB RAM
    The normal boot-time display should read:
    EBQ10 BIOS Version V1.30 [or V1.50/V1.60 if BIOS has been flashed]
    CPU = Intel (R) Pentium (R) M Processor 2.00 GHz
    2047 M System RAM passed
    2048 M Cache SRAM passed
    System BIOS shadowed
    Video BIOS shadowed
    ... but the Error displays:
    Unknow Project ID!!! BIOS Version ???
    ... then the same hardware specs as above ...
    Discussion: When this error appears,
    then the P.O.S.T. usually hangs for several minutes after "Video BIOS shadowed",
    and if the machine does eventually boot, then there is no keyboard functionality,
    but there is USB mouse functionality.
    However, the machine will recognize/use a keyboard connected by USB,
    even an Apple keyboard with mouse connected via its USB port.
    Depending on some (unknown) Magic ... after some number of repeated forced powerdowns,
    (sometimes immediately after it's obvious on the P.O.S.T. screen that it's non-functional)
    the machine will restart normally, and continue to function normally.
    History: began 2 years ago, as near I can tell -
    after my son installed a hacked copy of Windows Vista that modified the BIOS -
    he related this to me after he'd moved overseas & I'd inherited the machine and began to use it.
    I ran MemTest and verified that the memory was good,
    even tried different memory,
    disconnected/reconnected the keyboard connection after some disassembly of the laptop,
    disconnected/reconnected the hard drive & even tried several different hdds,
    but none of these efforts fixed the problem.
    Reasoning that this was essentially a BIOS problem,
    I flashed the BIOS from the existing v1.5 to v1.6, without success.
    Then upon investigating the install DVDs, I discovered that the original BIOS was v1.3 -
    and believe it or not (to me), successfully flashed the BIOS back to v1.3 -
    thinking that this might return the machine to the original or at least "Last known Good Config"
    And somehow, magically, it did!
    But, the error would return at random maybe after 6 months or so,
    has only happened maybe 3 times in 2 years after reflashing BIOS back to V1.3,
    but has happened again 2 days ago & hasn't 'magically' fixed itself like in the past,
    so that's why I'm making this post to see if anyone else ever encountered this?
    My next thought was to completely disassemble the laptop & try disconnecting/reconnecting
    the CMOS battery.
    Other than that - perhaps it's an electrical short in the mobo that just 'magically' occurred
    about simultaneously with the Vista hack?
    Any expert feedback/advices ?
    Thanks again for your time to read/respond.

  • How to get information about creation of a virtual machine on a Hyper-v host.

    Hi,
    How to get information about creation of a virtual machine on a Hyper-v host?
    I need: host name, time created, creator user.
    I saw in Hyper-V-VMMS but I found info about movements of VM between hosts.
    Thank's in advance.
    Denius Valiant

    For Host Name * Created Time Use This Command In PowerShell
    Get-VM -Name (Read-Host "Type Your Vm Name") |select CreationTime , ComputerName
    and for Create User , As i know you should see on Event Log .
    Go To Event Log Viewer--->Applications And Services Logs--->Microsoft--->Windows--->Hyper-V-VMMS--->Operational
    You can see in Event Log who create the Vm.
