Bios novo button for Lenovo Yoga

Hi all I am can't find this info anywhere. I am trying to get into bios but I read you have to use the nova button. My question is how? Do you press it in?  Do you need something else? I dont want to break it off.

I have a gen 1 Yoga, and it has no "novo button" and I've been searching for hours for documentation to get into the boot menu to no avail. Any idea how the Yoga 1 people get into the boot meny or BIOS? I'm not kidding that it has no novo button, I've been in IT for decades and would know.
Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
By chance do you have a Thinkpad S1 Yoga ?   If you do then shut down Windows completely by holding the Shift key while selecting Shut Down from the menu.  Once the laptop is completely shut down then power up the laptop and when the Lenovo logo appears press F1 to enter the BIOS Setup or F12 to enter a Boot Menu

  • Question about modifying the boot order for Lenovo Yoga

I created a bootable USB for crash recovery. How do I configure the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro boot order so that it boots from USB first? Is there some function key I need to press while the laptop is booting up to get some kind of boot screen?

I had used the "Create a recovery drive" option. You find this tool by pressing the windows key and typing in recovery drive, and clicking on the Settings category. This launches the Create a recovery drive application. This tool apparently copies over the recovery partition from the hard drive. Thanks a lot for your help. I will try to press the button on top of the power button and see if I can set it up to boot from the recovery usb drive.

  • New Intel HD4400 drivers for Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro?

Intel has new drivers for the HD4400 graphics chipset that's supposed to fix a bunch of issues and that's downloadable from Intel's website. Intel's update utility identifies the drivers as compatible with Yoga 2 Pro, but when attempting to install the installer aborts itself and tells the user to acquire the drivers from the "manufacturer", i.e. Lenovo.
When I check on the Lenovo site, however, there are only drivers dated October 2013.
In graphics driver age that's ancient.
So when is Lenovo allowing its Yoga 2 Pro users to update their HD4400 drivers, which in Oct 2013 were rather broken?
I'm talking about inadequate resolution scaling for the Yoga 2 Pro's high-res screen in some games, for instance, which is a pretty big issue to left unfixed. Meanwhile the Intel Update Manager that came with the Yoga 2 Pro's software bundle cannot, as of May 2014, even connect itself to the net to check for updates for whatever reason.

I didn't get any screen flicker but I only had it on those settings for 10 or 15 minutes
As I am typing this post with one tab in Firefox open it is running at 6,600 mWh. Windows reporting 4:22 Hr and 52% battery remaining.

  • [REQUEST] rtl8723au_bt bluetooth driver for lenovo yoga 13

    Hello.
I have a lenovo yoga 13 laptop with 8723 wireless card.
Wifi is working bacause of dkms-8723au-git package. As I know, in 3.15 kernel it will work out of the box and lwfinger will no longer maintain this source code.
Bluetooth is not working and there is no bluetooth driver in aur. It is required to install another package from here https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723au_bt.
I cannot build this package, because when I run make command it ends with error make[1]: *** /lib/modules/3.14.4-1-ARCH/build: No such file or directory. Also there was written about no dkms support in code. But I cannot fix it, because I am still noob in Archlinux. And for some reason it is written "Support kernel version 2.6.32~3.13.0" in readme.txt. I have already 3.14.4-1-ARCH kernel.
Could anyone help me to fix that and make aur package for other people to get  bluetooth work on lenovo yoga 13?

I think bluez5 is ok, because when I run bluetoothctl it can detect my cluetooth controller now. However, I cannot start working with it

  • Otg support for lenovo yoga 8

    Hi,
I tried 2 to 3 otg cables for my tablet to use standard keyboard and mouse but otg icon is not displayed in my tablet. Can you suggest me otg cable that is compatible with lenovo yoga 8 tab.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    Naveen

You don't say what firmware version is currently installed, but after I received the  _028_  OTA update for my Yoga 10, I lost all USB functionality, including otg. I also lost the ability to charge while the unit was on, but I may have found a work around for that. I'll be documenting that in a separate thread for others who experienced "slow charging" after the OTA KitKat update(s).

  • I need help with finding right stylus pen for lenovo yoga 2 pro!

I did read other person's post, but I did not find my answer. I am currently using my fingers to write my notes and it drives me nuts! I do have a stylus pen that have huge round fabric tip. It does not write well. I want a stylus pen with pointy end so I can acturally take my notes on OneNote. I writes equations down so it is very hard to write small and neat with my hand. I do know that my laptop is touch sensitive so it only works with rubber or fabric tips! I could not find any stylus pen with those tip that are pointy.... I need help on finding pointy tipped stylus pen that will let me write well. I am ordering ati-glare screen protector because I can see myself on the screen like a mirror... lol Hopefully this will not keep me from finding a pen that works well! Please give me link to the pen, if you can! Thank you for reading!

    ColonelONeill is correct.
The Yoga 2 Pro does not have a digitizer, so a capacitative stylus, which mimics a fingertip, is what you'd need.
    Regards.

  • Replacement Touch Screen for Lenovo Yoga

My touchscreen cracked- but I bought a $200 insurence policy from Staples, which is where I purchase my computer (and I will NEVER do that again and I don't recommend it). The policy covered accidental damages, such as a cracked screen, but after jumping through hoop after hoop to file a claim, Staples called me saying that they won't fix it becuase it's too expensive, even though I bought insurence. They offered a refund for my computer, but I refused because I adore my Yoga.
I'm really hoping someone can point me in the direction of a third party repairer, or even somewhere where I can buy a replacement touchscreen and have someone like Geek Squad install it. Any suggestions?

Get the refund for the computer and buy yourself another yoga. I would even request for the old machine back, make a OKR image. Then nuck reformat the hdd and give it back to staples for a full refund. Once done, restore the new yoga with the image you made.

  • I cannot enter the BIOS mode on my Yoga Ideapad - Novo button does not do anything

    Hi,
I have a win 8.1, and cannot access the Bios in any way I tried.
I shut down the computer, pressed the Novo button - nothing happens.
Pressed it while turning the computer on, nothing happens.
I'd like to change the F keys to their normal state (being Fn keys and not volume etc.).
    How do I do this?
    Thanks,
    Iram

Reboot while holding down Shift, choose Advanced -> UEFI Firmware Settings, voila you're in the bios.

  • BIOS Update for Lenovo N200 3000 0769-ASU

    Hello,
I want to upgrade my hard drive but I must upgrade my BIOS, but I cannot find a BIOS Update for Lenovo N200 3000 0769-ASU with Windows 7, any help or assistance is appreciated.

Sorry for replying to an old post but I found one of theese laptops a couple of days ago where I work. (I work at a recycle station/place/something)
I decided that I wanted to try and fix it since it suffers from the issue discussed here.
I have about 15 yrs experiance with fixing computers and about 3 years with laptops and my repair succes rate is rather high.
But this laptop is a piece of very bad and **bleep**ty workmanship - The whole upper part of the mainboard is toast - the part that is just under the connection to the batteri is badly burned.
I will upload some pictures shortly, and give a detailed workaround if I get it fixed
    cheers
