BIOS on Satellite L350 is not recognizing devices

Hi
I have a Satalite L350 which was crashing in windows after about 1 min of loading up. I thought perhaps the hard drive was faulty, so I tried to run a program I have called PC Check 6. I then discovered the cd drive would not read. I then tried a USB CD drive and still it would not boot up from disc. After resetting the BIOS to default settings I discovered that the BIOS was not recognizing any devices other than the hard disk. I took the hard disk out and tested with PC Check via another PC and HD Passed.
I now want to reinstall windows but CD Drive wont boot. I asume the problem is with my BIOS (InsydeH20 version 1.5) Perhaps flashing it would work? But.... no CD and USB devices :S
Any ideas what I can do please?

Hi
I dont think that BIOS is the problem.
The BIOS has recognized the HDD properly. Right?
Well, I think the internal CD/DVD drive is faulty if the BIOS cannot recognize this
Furthermore the BIOS of the L350 does not support booting from USB CD/DVD drive.
This is not possible
If you want to install the OS from recovery disk, then you will need to replace the internal CD/DVD drive because it seems to be faulty
Of course this is my personal option and just a suggestion

    Satellite L350-172 Bios-Update from bios-20090203164614 to bios-201002250
I just updatet the BIOS of my notebook from 1.60 to 2,20. Now the Notebook doesn't start any longer.

How can I downgrade the bios again? Or - what have I to change in the bios-settings?

    Hi schuwe,
Im a little bit confused about your posting. How do you tell your BIOS not to restart?
Anyway, after BIOS update you should load the default settings in BIOS.
Did you choose the right BIOS especially for your model?

  • My Toshiba Satellite p775-s7320 not recognizing the CD/DVD player (ODD)

    Hello all,
I am having the problem as listed in the title in that my toshiba satellite p775-s7320 is not recognizing the built-in CD/DVD player anymore. I have the latest Bios upgrade from Toshiba. The last time this worked was earlier this year during the summer. Nothing abnormal or apparent has happened to the laptop to change anything internally, except the Bios upgrades.
Interestingly enough, there is power to the CD/DVD mechanism and the open/close features work perfectly, but the Bios can't "see" the ODD. So because the Bios doesn't see it as being attached, and the System doesn't "see" because the Bios doesn't, it doesn't matter that the Open/Close function works, because putting a good CD in with data on it is of no value.
I was considering trying to revert the Bios to an earlier one, but simply trying to load the older Bios through the Windows Bios software is a No-Go because the software won't allow me to go to an earlier Bios flash.
I'm at the end of the line with common options, other than trying to switch out the Cd/DVD for a brand new one. Something I don't want to do if I can avoid it, but I would as a last resort. As well, loading a fresh image is out of the question as I have too much accumulated software on my harddrive and don't really think the problems stims from that.
Otherwise, any other solutions may be worthwhile to try. I would really like to flash the Bios to an earlier time when the machine worked well, but I dont know how.
Thanks for taking a look. BTW, I have removed and replaced the current CD/DVD several times with no change in recognition by the Bios.

  • TOUCHSMART 520 PC NOT RECOGNIZING DEVICES IN THE USB PORT.

When I plug any devices into the USB port, they are not recognized.  The computer acts as if they are not there.  The devices (MP3, camera, Garmin, etc) turn on, so I know that they are connected.  The Printer and wireless mouse that connect through the USB port still work and I have tried changing ports...it doesn't make any difference.  Even if I try to search for thr device, the computer does not find it.  Any ideas?

  • Re: Satellite Serial number not recognized by Toshiba support

    Hello,
I possess an A200 satellite laptop, and I am not able to find any driver for it on Toshiba site !!
    - its serial number (X8172841K) is not recognized , the message is : "Sorry , your product cannot be found" [translated from French]
    - the support site cannot detect my laptop model
    - none of the drivers that I have downloaded (closest to A200) accept to install
    Can u help me ?
    Regards,
    Sbastien (France)

If the serial number is not detected by Automatic detection you can find drivers manually.
Maybe you have the same A200 as friend of mine. His notebook has part number PSAE6E.
To find right drivers please visit Toshiba download and support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Support Homepage and at the bottom you will find link Download drivers.
Go there and choose your notebook model with right short model number.
If you need more help please let me know.
BTW: have you tried to find right drivers on Toshiba France support page?

  • Windows 7 not recognizing device - Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card

Windows 7 is not recognizing my Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card (Qualcomm Gobi 2000).  I can't even uninstall the driver, it says that I don't have "sufficient permission" to stop device or something to that effect
(though I'm an administrator).  I also can't re-install the same or different driver.  I might have installed the wrong driver, though this is supposed to be the correct one according to Dell after typing in my service tag.  I went to the FTP
to get one specifically for "Verizon Wireless", but I can't uninstall the prior driver.
How can I fix these issues?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    Any update?
Have you tried safe mode mentioned in the first reply? What is the status of the driver in device manager? For "Verizon Wireless", have you installed any verizon software or related verizon device? Uninstall this kind software, then uninstll driver again
    as a test.
Contact this support, maybe they can give some different ideas.

I am using a SB Extreme Audio card that was factory installed on aa Asus P6T Deluxe board. All worked well with the original Vista OS but after switching to Win7, the problems began. I should have posted this some time ago. I was contacted by Eric Albers from Saris in mid-November with a PowerAgent update that fixes the problem.
Here is the email I got from Eric:
Thanks for your continued patience. As of today we have a version of PowerAgent that should resolve the issue for everybody without the need to boot into safe mode to download your data.
Please download and install PowerAgent 7.5.8.47 from the link below. Be sure that you are not in safe mode when installing or using this version PowerAgent, also the installation steps have changed slightly so please be sure to follow them carefully.

  • Satellite L350-171 not available in UK

    Hello again!
Does anyone know why stock of L350-171 is all out?
I am trying to get a replacement from Tesco for mine which failed but Tesco do not know when they will get stock.
Also tried to look at other places selling online in the UK and they all show the laptop as out of stock. Hope it is not a discontinued product!!! I tried to call Toshiba Customer Services to ask but gave up after 15mins on hold :(.
Getting very itchy about paying for a new gadget but not holding/playing with it!!
    Thanks

    Hi
I dont believe this notebook model could be discontinued at this time.
Fact is that the L350 is one of the newest Sat series at this time and possibly this is the reason why the Satellite L350-171 is not available yet
Maybe you should wait a little bit.

  • Computer suddenly not recognizing device

My computer is not recognizing my iPhone 5 when I plug it in to transfer purchases and update.  I have had the phone for awhile and it was working just fine.

Great! It's not the first thing you think of, but my philosophy is "when in doubt, reboot." What probably happened is the AppleMobileDeviceService crashed. This is the easiest way to restart it.

  • Headphone Jack Not Recognizing Devices

Just stepped up from an old G4 iMac 17" to an slightly newer intel iMac 17" and I'm missing my old
clear plastic "ball" speakers. There is a different type of jack on these than the 1/8" input on my new (older) iMac so I can't use them. The built in speakers just don't do it for me on this current machine.
So to get to my point, I tried plugging a pair of powered speakers into the headphone jack and they were not recognized in the sound control panel. Tried with headphones and same thing. Only "internal speakers" appears in the control panel. I asked someone at an Apple store about this and he told me to look for a red light inside the headphone jack. If I saw red then this most likely would mean the jack is fried. I checked and did NOT see any red light.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi moJo
Sounds like a hardware problem with the Output jack, the sound card or that section of the logic board.
If you are stuck with that iMac for whatever reason, then your best bet might be to pick up a Griffin USB Audio Interface. > http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/

  • USB suddenly not recognizing devices

    Hello,
    I have a problem.
My MacBook Pro suddenly stopped recognizing usb devices. This morning everything was working fine, but for some reason a couple of hours later it's not working anymore.
I can connect my phone via usb and it's reloading the battery. I can't get into my files though, while I was able to do that this morning.
My MaKey MaKey also gets power and the lights flash. I can use it to play an online game. It isn't being recognized as an usb device though, and I can't upload new code to it.
I haven't changed anything between the point it was working and the point it is not working anymore.
The only change is that I've tried to connect my MaKey MaKey and upload code to it. But that didn't work, because it said there was nothing connected to my usb port. That's how I found out that it was broken.
I have tried resetting my PRAM and SMC but it both didn't help.

    Thanks for your answer.
I already tried the things listed in the link you sent, but unfortunately they didn't work.
However, a few hours after I posted my question things started working again. I can connect my phone again, and the MaKey MaKey shows up in the USB list if you go to About this Mac. Still can't upload anything to it though.
But I guess my problem is solved.

  • Satellite A660 webcam not in device listing

Have had A660 PSAW3A-07R00R for a couple of years but unable to use Webcam as it is not in the device listing. I have downloaded the webcam application on several occasions, the most recent being V1.1.1.15, but does nothing after extraction.

    Hi,
If you go into the BIOS and look in the Advanced section, is the webcam enabled? Perhaps try resetting the BIOS to default settings.
If still no luck, you may need to send it to an ASP for repair. There is a Service Center list on the mytoshiba.com.au website.
