BIOS Request MSI A6200-220US

Hello, I am a new member trying to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB on my MSI A6200-220US Core i3-350M but I am having issues and I am wondering if a custom BIOS would fix this. When I put in my two new sticks the laptop boots as usual giving me the options to open the bios (which I can and it shows the RAM as 8GB with a speed of 1067MHz) but when I try to boot windows it loads for a second then gives me a blue screen for another second and then shuts off.
The RAM I bought is 2 MICRON MT8KTF51264HZ-1G9E1 4GB PC3-14900 (DDR3L 1866) sticks which I have tested in a different machine (Dell Inspiron M5040) and confirmed that they work.
I've read online that DDR3 RAM should all be compatible with each other (with 204-PIN SODIMM) and thus it seems like this RAM should work. But reading online many people mention updating the RAM settings in the BIOS but I do not seem to have any settings, it simply tells me how much I have installed and at what speed. Does anyone have an idea of a way to fix this? Or is the RAM I bought simply incompatible? Would a custom BIOS be able to fix this?
If there is no way to fix this would using DDR3L 1600MHz (PC3L-12800) RAM work (if it is backwards compatible with 1.5V)?
Thanks.
Note: I'm not sure if it matters, but I have upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with a clean install so I no longer have any MSI related enhancements or software.

If you inspect Intel's data, you will notice that up to 8GB are supported, but only for DDR3-800/1066, see here:
http://ark.intel.com/products/43529/Intel-Core-i3-350M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_26-GHz
You need to force that memory to run at 800 or 1066 in the BIOS.

  • [BIOS REQUEST] MSI 270X Hawk 2GB

Hi! I have a problem with a newly purchased MSI 270X Hawk 2GB. I have tried it in the following PCs:

It works with the default windows driver in both PCs, but when the AMD driver is installed it fails after the windows welcome screen. Sometimes the screen turns blue, sometimes black/grey, and sometimes there are blue squares in lines on the screen and the PC freezes up. To get it to work again I have to boot into safe mode and remove the driver with Display Driver Uninstaller, since the normal uninstaller doesnt work in safe mode.
    Drivers I tried:
    13-12_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql
    amd_catalyst_14.1_betav1.6
MSI Graphics Driver (both from the CD and the website)
Tried with both BIOS modes. Tried in both PCI-E slots in the asrock board. The 6 pin power connectors are split between the two rails.
I also have an MSI 270X Gaming 2GB, and it works in both PCs without issues. The previous owner updated the BIOS on that one.
I know that the PSUs are far from optimal, but they had no problems with the 270X Gaming on full load or my previous GTX275, even when I overclocked the CPU and had 4/5 hard drives in there. The PSU upgrade (XFX Pro 850W) is on its way, but it is still around a week or more until it arrives.

    TV303MH.131 is normal vbios, TV303MH.141 is LN2
Create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
Then unpack the previously provided archive (131_141.rar) and put the included file (TV303MH.131 or TV303MH.141) on that stick.
Rename TV303MH.131 / TV303MH.141 to 131.rom / 141.rom. Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 131.rom (or 141.rom) [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios.

    - Samsung 840 Pro SSD (main os drive)
    - 2x1tb wd black in raid 0
    Issues
