BIOS Update für LENOVO B560 Modell 4330

Hallo!

  • Lenovo Ideapad G460 Bios Update Failed

    Hello,
I have a Lenovo Ideapad G460, I am trying to upgrade my bios but it failed. What I did is I had downloaded the bios update from the lenovo site and run the update program and followed all the instructions. During the process of flashing, the application encountered an error. I restarted the laptop and tried Insyde Bios Crisis Recovery using the Fn + B. After several attempts to find the correct filename, the last attempt to flash gave me a series of beeps while flash disks reads, then afterwards, it had powered down the laptop. When I tried to turn on the laptop, the screen is still blank, and now I  am trying to do the crisis recovery again, but now when I press the Fn + B combination, no beeps occurs and flash disk doesn't blink, the fan is spinning at full speed and shut itself down after 10 seconds. I already tried many times already and still gave me the same result. I had already exhausted all methods for flashing but no luck on it.
Any help would be appreciated to save my laptop.

  • Lenovo B560 8Gb Upgrade

    Hi mates,
I have some questions about update my notebook:
    Lenovo B560 i5-460M/4GB/500GB/GF 310M/15.6"
I have bought two units of DDR3:
    Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 CL9 SODIMM (P/N: KVR13S9S8/4)
Bios boot, but when boots Win8.1 shows an error and reboot.
In the kingston website, shows that this motherboard allows 2x4Gb DDR3 SODIMM, but in Lenovo website shows 4Gb max.
I have readed in this forum, some users had upgrade to 8GB.
I have checked the BIOS to change the FSB but is not possible.
    Can you help me??
    thanks for advance.

  • E31 - Front FAN at full speed after bios update !!

    Hello,
we have a Thinkstation E31 (2555-22G), and today after the Bios update with the Lenovo system update tool the front Fan (near the SATA connectors) is at full speed constantly. it is just impossible to stay in front of this computer because of the noise, i had to disconnect the fan.
I tried to flash to an older version available on the site but it doesn't change anything.
I tried to reset the BIOS to default, and also removed the battery from the motherboard.
I found in a faq but for another model to remove the power cable and press the start button during 10 seconds.
I didn't find something working, there is no fan control setting in the bios, or it is well hidden...
    What can i do ??
    Thanks for your help.

The beeps you're hearing are part of the CMOS clear process, so they are normal.  Once you hear the beeps, you should be OK to shut it down again.
I'm not necessarily convinced a bad fan is the cause of the issue if you truly only experienced the higher fan speed after a BIOS update.  But I also don't want to work on the same issue from two angles/paths at the same time....so I'm going to say let's wait and see what happens with the service route first and go from there.
If you happen to try it again or see the message again...I'm curious what error codes you're seeing after the system starts and you get the two POST beeps.  A message about corrupted settings sounds like it could be important  A picture might be helpful here if you can capture one.

  • Conflicting instructions for BIOS update: boot from CD but undock from Ultrabase?

I have an X61 and am trying to update the BIOS to the latest.
Lenovo support has a downloadable "BIOS Update Bootable CD" for my model of ThinkPad - an ISO image that I can use to create a bootable CD that will update my BIOS.
However the instruction file includes this sentence: "If your computer is attached to any kind of docking station or port replicator, turn off the computer and detach it before proceeding." This is before I boot from the CD.
If I undock from the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase then how can I boot from the CD??
Should I just ignore the instruction to undock?
Sorry if this seems silly but I'm a bit paranoid about updating the BIOS.
FYI here is the download page at lenovo: http://tinyurl.com/248kwp
    Thanks for any clarification
    Mike

    Mike,
go to this site, it's a heck of alot easier to use. On the other hand you can also use system update, it'll get most automatically for you. For SU make sure .NET Framework v.2.0 or later is installed.

  • Recent BIOS Update maybe bricking M93p Tiny systems?

We've just applied this BIOS update (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS035753) on 4 M93p Tiny machines.
1 of the machines is getting a blinking cursor at boot up (bricked?)
3 of the machines can no longer boot to the hard drive.
In the 3 machines that are not seeing the hard drive to boot, they occasionally show in the BIOS boot order, but when you try to include them in the boot order they disappear.
Hard drives are a recently Windows 7 64-bit image that worked before BIOS update.
If we network boot into a PE we can see the hard drive contents.
Called Lenovo support but got bounced around... any one see any issues like this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you just have a blinking cursor you may be able to do a CMOS reset to get it to a working BIOS. That worked for me. The other ones that just couldn't boot to the hard drive needed to have the board replaced, tho.

  • Equium L40 (PSL49E) - Is the BIOS update compatible?

    Simple question:
I have a Equium L40 PSL49E laptop with Vista. There is a BIOS update available - but only for models with Modelnumber PSL48x, PSL49x, PSL4Bx or PSL4Cx.
So, my question is: Does that include my model?
    Is PSL49E = PSL49x?
It would also be a bonus if someone could explain, which function exactly these updates have? And if there is anything I should be aware of in that context?

Yes, the update is compatible with your notebook. I have also checked the Toshiba website for the PSL49E and I can see this BIOS update.
PSL49x means that this update is compatible with all models that start with PSL49

  • Windows 7 - BIOS update question - Satellite A350-13A

    Hi,
I have the Toshiba A350-13A for Poland.
It came with Vista 32 bit system. I would like to install there Windows 7 64 bit.
So I have a question for BIOS update.
In my toshiba model driver section for WIN7 there is only a 32 bit BIOS for OS independent, but in the Vista section there is a 64 bit BIOS.
So shall I stay with the 32 bit BIOS or update to Vista 64 bit BIOS?
    best regards.

    Hi
Do you have any performance or notebook issues using the 32bit BIOS?
If everything is working properly then leave the 32bit BIOS on your notebook.
I would recommend updating the BIOS only if some serious problems would appear
    Cheers

  • BIOS update resulted in a bricked laptop

    Hi
I decided to flash the latest BIOS update available for my laptop model (HP envy 15 j028tx) from the HP support site. The exe created a USB drive with the bios update and some other tools (mem check etc in uefi mode). The installation of the BIOS update completed and i was told that upon reboot, it might take a couple minutes with some blinking leds before the display became active but after waiting around half an hour, since nothing was happening (except for the fan spinning), i restarted the laptop manually.
Since then, i haven't been able to get to BIOS post. The laptop just sits there with the fan spinning, the WiFi led in the off state and the display completely off, the caps lock led cycles once (which is normal behaviour as far as i remember) and the hdd led blinks a couple times and then turns off. The original BIOS was Insyde F.1C and the update version was F.65. I've spent hours trying to figure out a solution but haven't had any success at all.
    - I have tried connecting an external monitor which didn't do anything.
    - I have tried taking the battery out, holding down the power key for 15 to 60 seconds with the power adaptor disconnected and rebooting.
    - I have powered the laptop on while pressing Win+B with the HP_TOOLS USB in various ports.
I would greatly appreciate any help in trying to resolve this problem, thanks in advance.

HI , Thank you for your query.  I grasp that after installing a bios update your notebook no longer boot up.   When you power on the notebook you hear the fan spin up and the hard drive light blinks a couple of times but the display remains blank.  The LEDs on the Caps Lock cycles. You have tried to  use the Windows + B to reload the bios to no avail. Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Restoring the BIOS.  Another link that may help is HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshooting LED Blink Codes or Beep Codes During Startup or Boot If you are still unable to boot up your notebook, I suggest you contact HP support for assistance. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support  To say thanks for replying please click the thumbs up icon below. If this yielded a resolution please tell people by selecting solution provided.  Best of Luck!

  • Tecra A4 Bios Update failed!

At this moment when i try to turn on have to click power buttom for a few seconds, turn on power led for 1 second give sinal of acessing disk, and turn off again.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

    Hello kikas_sousa,
You have had a failed BIOS update. It happens sometimes, especially when a wrong version (model) was downloaded and used or due to an interrupted upgrade. Don't worry though, as the spinning of the floppy drive (attempt to BOOT from floppy) is a good sign!!! It means that your system can still accept an upgrade but with some additional help from you:
Download the alternative BIOS update from TOSHIBA for your model (not the windows one, but the DOS version) and make sure it was downloaded CORRECT. Further instructions you will find in a previous thread that has been confirmed as working. You can give it a try OR ask the Toshiba Service for assistance (you will have to send them your notebook).
The link to the thread is here:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19801&messageID=72599
Whatever you do is ON YOUR OWN RISK, though. Please remember this, as I don't want to be held responsible for providing you this idea. Most efficient way is always the Toshiba service as they are very well aware about what to do in each situation.
Please consider reporting if this method was a success for your case because we need some feedback to provide "working" solutions to fellow Toshiba users like you before a thread is locked due to inactivity.

  • R705-P42 BIOS Update Problem

I just bought a R705-P42 from the Microsoft Store.  Immediately upgraded the 5400rpm hard drive to a cloned Seagate Momentus XT 500gb hybrid drive to improve the speed.  So far, working great, with very impressive speeds on startup and with most programs.
Discovered the Toshiba Service Station utility the other day, and tried to update the bios.  With both 1.70 and 1.80 updates, I get the same message:
Error: Preparing to update was failed.
Given image file is not compatible with this computer.
Any ideas on this?  Should I attempt to do the BIOS update via an alternate pathway (outside of Windows 7)?  Do I need to swap back the original hard drive for the update process, then switch back?  I also added some memory, too, but have already tried to go back to the original sticks for that one.  Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Kevin
First, this is a peer support forum. As such, Toshiba techs do not openly offer advice, comment, or acknowledge posts here. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the forum is at least read by some Toshiba tech(s).
On that note, in double checking everything, I noticed that on March 2, yesterday, Toshiba has posted a BIOS update v1.90 for your model. Before we ask Jim (our Administrator) to get Toshiba to double check that they have the right BIOS file(s) available for download for your system, why don't you at least try this version 1.90
    ACPI Flash BIOS version 1.90
Again, my advice is to download the BIOS update to your desktop. Double click on it, and create the bootable CD to update & backup your BIOS. Then reboot with the CD in the drive, and boot off the CD. Update and backup your BIOS, and, if the update runs, your machine will probably shut down after. Then restart off the hard drive into Windows.
If this doesn't work, and you get the same message, I would suspect that the 'Microsoft Store' where you bought it has changed the RAM or something, that is causing this message.  However, Googling your exact text strings from both error messages you have posted, only results in your post. No one else, ever appears to have posted these error messages anywhere. However, syntax and spelling are critically important.
    Let us know.  Good luck.
    Mike

  • G450 crashed after Bios update

My laptop G450 can't reboot and the screen is black with all lights and sounds off after I updated the BIOS. I downloaded the right BIOS software from Lenovo.com and installed it. But the driver software didn't work well. It can't complete the installation even after 2 hours and seemimgly caused my laptop dead. The computer can't restart or be closed by holding the power button over 10 seconds or longer. So I have to disconnect the power adapter and disconnected the system power. From then on, the laptop can't start without any lights on and the screen stands black even I reconnect the power adapter. I got the adapter and system off and pushed the power button five times with holding it over 5 seconds. But G450 can't start yet.  So what should I do now? Do I need to change the motherboard or the Bios can be updated again? Do I need to pay for this Bios error?
    Thanks for your help.

The service and support is really bad in U.S. Call Center representives are not pleased to help me solve questions. As they picked your call up, they just asked your personal information, coldly! When they gave some advice, they let me write down a case number. I asked a guy sent me an email about my case even at the first place I already gave all my information to him. I never got such an email. They told me they didn't have such a master board in their stock in U.S. But they can't give how long time they can solve this issue using other resource.
I updated the Bios update software from lenovo's website, but some Bios update operation information is placed in another file which I got to know after I had been updating the program. They didn't put all information in the single Bios  file and there isn't guide when you run this file on your computer. They are not aware that their fault resulted me in failing to update my computer and turning it into a brick! They want to charge me $399 to replace the master board instead!
Why does Lenovo have a very bad market share in U.S? See what they have and what they did. I bought two lenovo laptops in U.S. I will not buy any more again even I am from China.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a terrific place to find answers and information!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
I grasp you are unsure of the exact model notebook  you have as the auto detect states you have the Pavilion dv6-6b13ss but the sticker on the bottom states it is Pavilion dv6 6166ee .
It is most likely the former as that is what the tool detected after scanning your system for information.
Here is a link to How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? that may also help to clarify this for you.
Here is a link to the HP Pavilion dv6-6b13ss Entertainment Notebook PC Support And Drivers where it does list the latest recommended bios update as F.1C.

  • Lenovo G570 Bios Update

Hi everyone Does the new bios update will be released ? Thank you.

    Hello yigit,
I'll contact to Lenovo technical service for this issue. But before contacting i would like to let you know that I found official 40CN22WW(1.09) bios for G470/G570 from China support page and i flashed bios with that version. It flashed the BIOS but same problem happened when it comes to EC. When i clicked on OK for flashing EC it freezed and nothing move so around 10 mins later i had to reset laptop by unplugging the battery. But when i enter the setup i saw that all INVALID gone and the correct values are there. So i can see model, uid and serial number in BIOS now. But the EC is same old one which i typed in 1st post.
    When i saw this i wanted to flash BIOS with official 2.09 version. It flashed the BIOS and came to EC flashing. This time it become different. After flashing BIOS it asked me to flash EC, and i clicked on OK, after clicking OK around 6-7 seconds later this appeared;
    IHIS:EC write error in SMI!
and after this one it reset the laptop by itself, i checked in the BIOS and the serial, model changed to INVALID again but BIOS version is 2.09 and EC is 2.04. So I reflashed the BIOS with 1.09 and now in BIOS no more INVALID but EC is still 2.04. I don't know maybe this version has an EC protection or something like that. Or maybe my laptop BIOS or EC is corrupted. I wanted to flash my BIOS at 1st just because of those fan noise with almost 100% speed. Even the temperature is 45 the fan runs like F1 race car I'll take this with this BIOS now and when i go to Adana where I bought this laptop I'll ask for technical help there. Beside all those except FAN runs too fast, there is no problem on laptop everything works fine. But i noticed that boot time is faster with this 1.09 bios, i don't know maybe this is a coincidence.
Thank you for your interest and replies.
