Bios update invalid checksum sp69848 ver 80.52Ap1

Using the HP Support Assistant, I was notified that a new bios update  was available which I downloaded and attempted to install.  During the final install step, this error message appears.  I've rebooted and and attempted again, same result.   the bios SP  file I am trying to install is  sp69848 ver 80.52Ap1

I'm having the same problem on my p7-1235.

  • OS UPDATE / Invalid Checksum / Appstore / Main Apple web page

Hi.. I know this conversation closed many months ago but I am having the same problem. I have just turned on one of my Macbooks and it indicated via the MacStore that I needed the recent update of IOSX software. Currently I am running 10.8.2... and it showed that I needed the new update of 10.8.3
I clicked on the download button and after download it came back with a message to say the file had been corrupted during download. I tried to download it again via the App Store but it then said that there are no current updates or all updates are current. I checked to make sure that the existing software had not updated and it had not. So I went to the Apple webpage where you are able to download files directly from the site. http://support.apple.com/downloads/
I then tried to download the 10.8.3 combo software... After about 35 mins I tried to install it from the Download file
After validating the file which is normal.. It cam back with an error - "Invalid Checksum" So I deleted the file from downloads and tried again.... Same thing...
I then tried to download the smaller update file (the one below in the image) -
Less time to download but came back with the same error.
So in short I am unable to download this update... I am getting the same error message "Invalid Checksum" when I use either the AppStore or the main Apple software update page on the web..
Anyone suggest anything? I have tried to download this a couple of times now and am getting the same results.
    Appreciate any help or advise.

Interesting. I went to apple.com and dragged the url to the dock. There is a clickable space created, which displays "Apple" when you hover over it. I can click on it successfully, as you say. And I can drag it off the dock as usual. But there is no icon!  I tried a couple of other websites -- same result!
    A small bug, I guess.
This behavior persists in all my user accounts.
    Can others confirm?

  • Invalid Checksum when trying to update MAC OS X 10.6.4

Hi all.  I own a 15 inch laptop mac i purchased in 2009.  I have recently realised that my MAC software has not been updating or installing correctly.  I tried to manually download the software 10.6.5 ( as i currently have 10.6.4) and it came back with an invalid checksum error.  I retried the download several times and got the same error.  I also tried other downloads and also got the invalid checksum error. (.DWG files).
Another thing that seemed strange was that i had been trying to download 'star walk app' for my iphone and also a jamie oliver recipe app however these files seemed to keep restarting their download due to errors.
I have done some research and the possible issues i have come across are:
    - possible internet connection error.  This doesnt seem to be the problem as i can stream youtube etc with no issues..
    - possible RAM error.  How do i check this is the problem without purchasing new RAM chip?
    - corrupt download.  Cant be this due to all my files being corrupt.
Can anyone help me further with trying to solve this issue?
I have been so happy with changing to the Apple life and now i am starting to regret it as i am finding it near impossible to repair my laptop....
    Any help is appreciated, Thanks

If you think your Mac is having hardware problems, I'd run the diagnostics that came with your Mac.  If the diagnostics came on a separate disc, run them by holding down the "C" key while booting with that disc in the drive.  If you only have one "system restore" disc, hold down the "D" key while booting with that disc in the drive.

  • INVALID CHECKSUM: Motorola SBG6580 wireless modem router and software updates (10.7.4)

Tried to install 10.7.4 via software update dropdown on my MacMini over ethernet on my home computer network, failed.  Downloaded Combo Client 10.7.4 update from apple.com. Downloaded fine.  Failed to mount with invalid checksum error.  Tried to download on Win7 Dell laptop on my same home network via Wi-Fi, and copied to MacMini via USB flashdrive.  Copied ok, but mounting returned invalid checksum again.  Went to work, downloaded Combo Client 10.7.4 onto USB flashdrive, came home, copied it, mounted and installed just fine!
So, kept trying to download Combo Client from apple.com on my home MacMini.  Kept failing, invalid checksum. Did this about 20 times during a few days, and actually got two of them to mount without the checksum error.  Realized that something in my network was failing, intermittently.
Figured at this point it was either the Motorola SBG6580 modem wireless router or Comcast cable ISP service.
Went to best buy and bought a new Motorola SurfBoard SBG6580.  Installed it, provisioned it with Comcast.  Took about 20 mins with Comcast pushing over the same new Motorola firmware that was released in MID FEB 2012.  I think it is 3.3.1.  Tried to download Combo Client and invalid checksum again. Installed a new Motorola SurfBoard SB6121 modem (which has a very different firmware BTW) and it download and mounted the Combo Client 10.7.4 update just fine!
Realized it was the firmware that was causing it, not a broken modem.
Comcast pushes over cable automatically new firmware that is given to them by Motorola.  Apparently no did a thorough check large DMG files that require a checksum and it is therefore somehow corrupting them when downloading.  Earlier this year the firmware was updated 3.1 to 3.3.1 then Comcast pulled it and downgraded all SBG6580 back to 3.1.  Then in mid Feb they reuploaded 3.3.1 firmware.  That is the one causing the problems.
You can either wait it out till they push a new one that fixes it, and have all your large DMG files transferred from another internet connection and copy them over, or just get rid of that horrible SBG6580.  That is what I did and now using a Motorola SB6121 modem with a Cisco EA2700 wireless routher.
Let me know if any of you are also experiencing this issue and if/when Comcast/Motorola will fix it.

No, nothing custom that I did. Besides turning off the WPS thing as a possible security problem (we dont need it anyway) and setting the wireless passwords/SSID/channel stuff, everything is as it was factory or changed by Comcasts profile.
It's obvious if you replaced the SBG6580 with a two-peice combo and the problem went away, that it seems to be with the SBG6580. Just weird to me becuase a problem like that would almost seem more like a hard disk or web browser problem. TCP/IP has a checksum/retransmission layer or protocol built in, if short or defective packets show up, they would be sent again.
I mean I've seen like cheap 24 port 10/100mb switches running at 100% throughput, to the point they reboot. Anything connected to them stops or slows down but generally get going where they left off, unless the connection got severed.
I'm just saying a bad iso or dmg file, had to had bytes changed or missing, like the web browsers buffer or a bad block write on the disk drive saving it. There was a lot of talk about the SBG6580 on dslreports and comcast discussion groups, would be interesting to see if anyone else mentioned it for that model.

  • B590 (20208) BIOS update/version

I recently bought a B590 Notebook (20208) that shows installed BIOS as H5ET69WW (1.12), running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1. When I run the BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Lenovo B490, B590 I get the message: "BIOS image file is older than BIOS ROM. Do you want to continue?", which I have not
In what may be a related issue, enabling Hardware Assisted Virtualization (Intel VT) in my BIOS does not seem to take effect in my system. (And yes, I have changed the setting with a cold boot.)
How or where can I find out exactly which BIOS version I should have on my machine? (I've looked everywhere to no avail.)
    Lenovo Essentials B590 (20208), Windows 7 Professional SP1
    I blog, therefore I am

neokenchi, thank you for the reply. As it turns out, the VT issue was not directly related to the BIOS version, as a clean W7 install from a Lenovo recovery disk solved that particular problem. The o/s still won't recognize VT if memory protection is enabled in the BIOS, but I can live with that disabled.
It was the VT issue that led me to wonder if I had the right BIOS for my machine, as there is a possibilty that the BIOS may have been changed somewhere along the line after it left Lenovo. Coupled with the fact that the most recent version on the Lenovo download page for my model is older than the one I have (which seemed unusual), that led to my concern, and my original question here.
Since then, at the suggestion of a Lenovo hardware support specialist, I did attempt to flash the update availabe from Lenovo (making sure to disable rollback prevention in the BIOS), which failed from both the BIOS update utility in Windows and the ISO version on a CD, with the following messages (without making any changes to the BIOS):
exe version: Invalid file when SecureFlash is on in ROM
iso version: The system program file is damaged
So I remain with the BIOS that was on my machine when I bought it, and while everything seems to be working well, I am still wondering if there is any way to find out the BIOS version (by which I mean the full BIOS definition, not the 1.12) that was shipped, in case any further issues arise in the future.

  • Thinkpad T440s BIOS update via PXE fails with "invalid system disk"

    Hi,
I'm trying to boot via PXE to the BIOS 2.24 update ISO image because the T440s comes without a DVD drive. The Thinkpads are running RHEL 6.5 workstation installed. I'm using syslinux 6.02 and the following menu entry:
    label lenovo_t440s
menu label Lenovo Thinkpad T440s BIOS 2.24 Update
        kernel memdisk
        append initrd=lenovo/t440s/gjuj11us.iso iso
The ISO gets loaded via TFTP and seems to boot, but then an error message appears:
    Loading boot sector... booting...
    Lenovo Group Limited
    Invalid system disk
Replace the disk, and then press any key.
The Thinkpads come with the following SSD drive: SAMSUNG MZ7TD256HAFV-000L9.
Anyone had luck with updating BIOS via PXE boot?
We also have Thinkpads T430s. There the BIOS update ISO image loads, displays the menu, but when one presses "update firmware" then it freezes.
    Regards,
    Bernd

Same behaviour when I try without PXE and load memdisk and ISO file directly via GRUB using this entry in /boot/grub/grub.conf:
    title ThinkPad BIOS Update
    root (hd0,1)
    kernel /memdisk iso
    initrd /gjuj11us.iso

  • HP Model #A6000n Bios Checksum Error after Bios Update!!

I performed the Bios update posted on Hp's website...After the re-boot, all I get is this error, "BIOS Checksum Error," and then the black screen looks for a bootable disk on floppy (this computer has none), then, it looks for a bootable disk on the CD drive.  Now, I have talked to HP support and they say I need to order the recovery disks.  Can someone send me a bootable file that I could burn to CD for this model machine and get it up and running??  I have an older machine here that would allow me to make a bootable CD but, I have no idea where to locate some kind of BIOS update and or, bootable file to flash the BIOS.  I am so mad that HP has wanted me to purchase this CD recovery program just to get back into Windows Vista.  But, I am not sure what to do since the BIOS update must have been corrupt when I flashed the ASUS motherboard.  This computer is my Aunts and she failed to make back up restore disks and now I am lost as to getting this thing up and running...Please help!!
    Thanks!

Like I said, if you have a floppy it is easy, especially since the computer doing the floppy is XP.OK, here we go.
    1) place floppy disk in drive
    2) open My Computer and right click on the floppy drive
    3) pick format from the menu that pops up
    4) put a check mark in the box next to the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk"
    5) click "Start"
    6) when completed copy the awdflash.exe to the floppy
    7) right click on the BIOS file from HP
    8) move the mouse cursor to 7-zip and then click on "open archive"
    9) double click on the folder icon in the new window
    10) right click on the ROM file - in this case 513.rom
    11) pick "copy to" from the menu and browse to the floppy
    12) when that is complete, the floppy should be ready to work
    13) Move the floppy and ribbon cable to the Vista computer.  It does not need to be mounted but make sure it is not touching anything metal ( a stake of books will do fine) and connect the ribbon cable and power to the Vista computer's motherboard and power supply (of course this is done with both of the computers off and unplugged)
Now ready to go on the Vista computer. When the power button is pressed on the computer, there will be an HP splash screen come up.  From that screen press the "Enter BIOS" or "Boot setup" key as indicated.  Forgot to ask if this screen comes up in previous posts.  If this screen does not show then this is going to be much harder.
When in the BIOS, look for boot order and then set it to boot from the floppy first.  Save choices to exit.
    14) Reboot - should end up with a flashing cursor in the top right corner
    15) type AWDFLASH 513.rom /py/sn/cc then hit Enter
    16) when and if it completes power down and remove the floppy drive from the computer
That should do it.  If it does not work or there are problems come back with an explanation of what did happen.
Of course, doing all this at your own risk.  I am just trying to help.

  • [solved] bios update advice [was reenabling bluetooth]

When I first installed Arch, I couldn't for the life of me get it to recognise bluetooth. More specifically, I couldn't get it to see my bluetooth as not hard blocked despite having it enabled in the (uefi) bios.
Eventually, I got it to work. However, I don't think I really understood what I'd done. Perhaps it was simply a fortuitous update. All seemed OK.
Recently, it stopped working again. I'm not sure exactly when as I don't use it that often. Also, I am not sure if it was working immediately prior to my machine going insane two days ago. I've just restored from backup. However, I idiotically ran fsck on the root fs of my backup drive once and this caused minor corruption. As far as I could tell, the only issue was an inode moved to lost+found and I've identified and reinstated that. Everything seems OK and I've updated to the latest kernel this evening without problems. Also, since this is a problem I had earlier, I'm more inclined to think it due to user error (configuration) rather than corruption.
Bluetooth is definitely enabled in the (uefi) bios. I've rebooted to double-check this at least twice.

I tried following the wiki but I cannot get past the first step because no device shows up. I looked at gentoo's wiki but the instructions refer to files under /proc and I couldn't translate them for /sys which is where I think the equivalent files would be. (files seem to be directories instead.)
I also tried the instructions at http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_setup_Bluetooth:
    echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/thinkpad_acpi/bluetooth_enable
I do have the required module (thinkpad_acpi) loaded but even when I try this as root having remembered to unset noclobber, I get "Operation no permitted". I'm not sure why - the file permissions are -rw-r--r-- and the file is owned by root:root. I know some of the files under /sys etc. are not regular files and cannot be written to but this is the method the think wiki suggests for enabling the hotkeys so I'd assumed this file should be writeable.
However, dmesg suggests this method is deprecated:
[ 3129.610450] thinkpad_acpi: deprecated sysfs attribute: access by process with PID 7749
[ 3129.610458] thinkpad_acpi: WARNING: sysfs attribute bluetooth_enable is deprecated and will be removed. Please switch to generic rfkill before year 2010
So I guess that's equivalent to the rfkill thing anyway which only affects soft blocking?
    dmesg also includes:

I'd really appreciate any advice or information. I'm really hoping to not only get this working again but to understand (and remember) how it is done so I can repeat as necessary!

In case this is useful to others:
I borrowed a USB optical drive from the IT department at work. I installed cdrkit using pacaman and burnt the iso image using wodim following the instructions for burning isos on the wiki.
I got somewhat confused at this point. The wiki explains how to check a created iso is good by mounting it. Although I hadn't created it, I tried to do this. (Not having checksums for comparison makes me nervous!) I mounted an entirely empty directory. When I tried to unmount, it said it couldn't find the loop device although I used that when mounting. I then used fuse to mount it and again got an empty directory. So I tried mounting the actual cd I'd burnt. Same result. I next downloaded another copy of the iso and diffed it just to try to rule out corruption on download. Diff checked out.
I decided maybe bios updates were weird. wodim had definitely done *something* and it seemed to have burnt it. It reported success... In any case, I figured if I'd really burnt an entirely blank cd, the worst that would happen is it wouldn't boot and that wouldn't be the end of the world.
So I rebooted the machine and went into bios mode, following Lenovo's instructions (I printed these just in case). Before I followed those, I reset all settings to their defaults. I don't know if this was necessary but it seemed it couldn't hurt. I think this wiped the grub2 boot entry. I then made sure the cd drive was above the hard drive in the boot order. I disconnected everything except power and the optical drive. Again, don't know if this was necessary but Macs are sometimes funny about having things connected when booted from test/rescue etc. cds and I thought PCs might be the same. In any case, I didn't think a printer, mouse or ethernet would be much use in bios.
I rebooted and booted from the cd. I read the instructions. I chose the update-system option and followed the instructions. I then sat and stared at it nervously while it seemed to take forever to update. (I don't think it was really very long - I was just worried.) It then said that it might continue to update as it rebooted and that I should leave the cd in until "this screen" showed again. I should then either not remove the cd and reboot to the same screen or I should remove the cd and reboot to something else. (I didn't really get this bit.) I rebooted. I guess "same screen" means "bios update" rather than "system program update". I could not, however, remove the cd. In the end I think I rebooted and went into bios mode. I first reset everything to defaults as I'd read this was necessary to get bluetooth etc. all working properly. I then checked/changed the boot order and everything else and rebooted again. Once I was back at the desktop I managed to unmount the disk (couldn't do this through the gui but worked OK in cli). I then unplugged the drive. I then switched the drive off and on again and was finally able to extract the cd. (I didn't think IT would be too pleased if I returned the drive with a stuck bios updater in it though they'd probably have known better how to extract it.)
And my bluetooth is enabled! (I hope it lasts: I have been here before although it isn't clear how I got there before.)
    $ rfkill list
    1: tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: Bluetooth
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
    2: phy0: Wireless LAN
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
    3: hci0: Bluetooth
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no
I ignored the renaming option in the bios updater. I don't know if this was correct but I didn't understand what it was meant to be for so I decided to not touch it.
I am somewhat surprised the machine booted. I thought if it had wiped the grub2 entry from the uefi menu that it wouldn't boot. However, it booted OK. I'd like to put the entry back if I can figure out how, though. Having said that, I'm not entirely sure what the entry does if it isn't necessary to boot.
Adapting the wiki instructions a bit (They must have changed - I followed the wiki in November and now all the names and places are different!):
    modprobe efivars
efibootmgr --create --gpt --disk /dev/sda --part 1 --write-signature --label "Arch Linux (GRUB2)" --loader '\EFI\grub\grub.efi'
I used '\EFI\grub\grub.efi' because I don't have arch_grub but only grub and boot. I used grub.efi in place of grubx64.efi because I don't have the latter. I have core.efi and grub.efi. These are identical and also identical to boot/bootx64.efi. I figured grub/grub.efi was the closest match. I used the above even though it is efi/grub/grub.efi because I guess case doesn't matter on a fat 16 partition any more than it would on a fat 32 one?

However if you need BIOS update prior to have some RAM or GPU working fine (or other stuff), then maybe consider updating to 1.6 and then to 1.9 and finally to 1.B (1.11). I suggest using MFlash (files can be downloaded on MSI's product site, instructions should be included). For Forum Flash tool you need proper files provided (usually) by Svet or Flobelix.
Before attempting to flash, make sure your system is stable!
I downloaded BIOS 1,5 and 1,6 and in both cases i have same issue it stucks on 100% on M-Flash, after this I can normaly shut down pc and it work but witch 1.4 BIOS. I just want know whyi can;t
    updtate.

  • BIOS Update HP DC 7900 ultra slim PC from 1.08 to an higher version - ERROR

Hello,i'm trying to process an BIOS Update from Version 1.08 to a newer Version. Therefore i've checked many BIOS files you are providing. Even the BIOS file of 1.09 verion. It will not work. Please find attached the response of the Update process:  Trying to flash via BIOS (F10 function) from USB stick or CD:Copying of BIOS file = 100%flashing of BIOS = 104% and nothing else will change  Trying to flash via DOS Boot Stick and DOS Flash Tool:Copying of BIOS file = 100%flashing of BIOS = the percent counter will increase and NEVER stop (for example it reaches 389% and so on....)  Trying to flas via Windows software:The process will run until 100% and than nothing happens. It seems that the program will freeze (program will not response anymore).  Can you please try to help me to update my BIOS version? I need the update because Version 1.22 seems to have an update of the grafic component which i need. Thank you very much! Christian Maier

try running the bios update in safe mode.

  • Satellite L750D - BIOS update 2.1 and sound problem

    Hello
I have little problem. I have been downloaded from your website BIOS 2.1 for Toshiba Satellite L750D (PSK32E).
I have been updated BIOS to 2.1 and start problem with sound. When I start game, music or something other only 2 first minutes sound plays properly but then it stops for no reason. No sound at all. I have been reinstalled op system but the problem is still there.
Sound works for 2 minutes only then is completely off. Every start application with sound plays 2 minutes and stop all quiet is. I have made a probe on my mother laptop its a twin laptop. I have been updated bios same problem 2 minutes and then no sound. My operating system is win 8 pro 64 my mother laptop is with win 7 x64 premium.
Two BIOS updated 2.1 ver on L750D and the problem is same. Please fix BIOS.

The BIOS seems to be very old. I was released nearly 1.5 years ago so to be honest I doubt its and BIOS issue.
I had the similar issue with my other notebook equipped with an Realtek sound card.
The sound appeared again after plugging and removing the headphone jack
But i could solve this installing the newest sound driver update from Realtek driver page.
But it seems that your Satellite does not support Realtek sound chip but Conexant sound chip.
Therefore the solution might not be useful for you.
However, I think you need to update the sound driver.I recommend you to google for Conexant SmartAudio HD driver and to test the newest available driver version.
In internet I could found the Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver version 8.65.9.51 for Win 7/ Win 8 / Win 8.1
Not quite sure if this is the newest version but you can test it.
In order to manually update your driver:
    1. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel)
    2. Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software
    3. Choose to select the location of the new driver manually and browse to the folder where you downloaded the driver

and to add: you're not following SAPs suggestions according to the installation guide.
    > D:\usr\sap\ERP\SYS\exe\run/R3load.exe: version R6.20/V1.2
Kernel 6.20 is out of support already for a long time. You should get an updated installation CD with a 6.40 kernel.
    > DbSl Trace: Database instance erp is running on PAO with ORACLE version 9.2.0.1.0 since 20100131
9.2.0.1 was never supported. If you read the installation you will notice, that you should install the database plus the latest patchset plus the latest interim patches before you continue with the installation.
