BIOS Update, need help!

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837. I was looking for a BIOS update at the download page, and there was one (the first one) that I thought would be for mine, but when I installed it it said it was for Windows NT, 2000, and XP. Now, I have the sa210v200 folder in my C: drive. Is it safe to delete this folder or will it screw up my BIOS? Also, is there an update for my laptop's BIOS? I use Vista 32bit.

Remove AC, remove main Battery, open the cover on the back of the mini and disconnect the cmos (RTC) battery for a few hours, connect the cmos battery back, connect AC only, power up, enter the bios (F10) immediately and set the date and time, do this Before Windows loads.
See page 53 in this document
if this does not clear the passowrd, then it will have to be sent in for repairs.

You don't need a BIOS update.
When it is stated that a CPU is supported in the motherboard specifications document it means that BIOS support is already present.

Armada 1580DMT BIOS Update needed

I'm a HP Compaq user from forever and I've always been happy with the laptop products. I currently own a Pavilion dv6-1080eq.
I still keep the first laptop I got, it's an Armada 1580DMT. I want to bring this old fighter back to life, so I got it an 128mb ram module and planed to upgrade it. BUT it's not recognizing it. It sees only about 16mb of it. Along with this I seemed to have forgoten how to enter the bios setup.
I need a bios update, but I don't seem to be able to find it anywhere.
If you can give me a link from where I can download the latest firmware and some basic instructions on how to upgrade it, it will be great!
I've never used custumer support before and if you need some more information in order to help my case, I'll provide it.

That old girl is an interesting piece of hardware. As you suggest, there is a BIOS update that makes a major difference in computer performance. It raises the maximum memory the computer will see from 64 megs to 80 megs. Sorry to say, the biggest module it will use is a 64 meg EDO laptop module. They are very hard to find these days. A PC-100 or PC-66 module will fit but will not work. I suspect your 128 meg memory stick is in fact a PC-100 module. The 16 megs you are seeing is onboard memory soldered to the motherboard and would be available even in the absence of an expansion module. The BIOS upgrade allows a 64 meg expansion module to work together with the onboard. With the older BIOS adding a 64 meg module would disable the onboard memory, making 64 megs total. The BIOS upgrade also brightens the screen and allows full plug and play operation which is essential to running Windows 2000, which is the best OS for that machine, even though it is a tad slow with 80 megs. Win98 runs pretty well but is fully obsolete now in my opinion and certainly not secure on the internet. If I recall, Windows 2000 installs all needed drivers without any assistance. The last BIOS upgrade for that model is not posted on this website. Check this old thread from the Business User's Forum. Rainald posted a link to the BIOS you need.

I tried the link and it still works and Rainald even posted instructions on how to make the bootable floppy you need to flash the BIOS. I also think this BIOS update adds CD booting capability to the machine. It is the most effective BIOS update I have ever come across.

Bios Update Needed for Lenevo 3000 G530 on Windows 7 (32Bit)

I have searched the forum and found few topic, i also tried to flash the bios by my self but i was unable to do it.
I downloaded 6get19ww.exe from driver download and when i tried to flash i got an error message saying, " Cannot load driver C:\DRIVERS\BIOS\6get19ww\PHLASHNT.SYS. Please check your accounts, if you have no administrator privilege, please login again!. The Specified error has been marked for deletion. Error Code :1072. "
I had tried running the bios updated as administrator and i am doing all these from an administrator account.
I am running Windows 7 (32 bit) and would highly appreciate if you guys can help me out.

Bios Update Please Help urgent! :(

Hi soo i have a GT702 PE gtx880m and a 4810mq an currently im stuck on bios 50v and i want to update to 717 but i tried everything and its not working either way
i can flash from 50v to 517 that goes but i cant go any further if i try the laptop only turns on and off alot then boot back into windows logon screen
what am i doing wrong?? hope anyone got a clue i have plans for updating to the latest gtx980m and i realy need that bios update fast :/
If i can get a update order or an explanation how to do it it woud be awesome

Can't update new software update need HELP

Ok I got the Jan software update and well I just know really how to just install it. I red someone's post here but it's just not clear on how to do it. Is there someone that can tell me in a clear way the steps to do it please. I know he said to do a folder called "Mobile Applications" and to put the downloaded file (iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa) in it, so I did it and I put it in the iTunes folder in my "Music" folder, I pressed Sync and no software appear. So I just need help with this please!!!!!!

BIOS update needed

I have a Satellite C70D-B running Windows 8.1 - bought June 2014. For the last while the Toshiba Service Station has been telling me an update is needed - C70D-B BIOS update version 1.20. I regard a BIOS update as something to do only if absolutely necessary. Now I see there's even a 1.30 update plus a CyberLink Power DVD update. I have been trying to find out what these updates would change in my computer but that information seems unavailable. Can someone point me to or give me such information? If I decide to do a BIOS update do I need to do 1.20 first then 1.30 or does 1.30 include 1.20? Thanks in advance.

The latest update to your BIOS (now actually a UEFI) at your site is Version 1.4.
I can't tell you much. The latest update for the US equivalent part-number family (PSCLEU) is Version 1.3. Changes up to there are indicated here.

Personally, I update neither the BIOS nor device drivers unless there is a problem. I agree with Fred Langa.

MSI P6N Platinum OEM, BIOS update needed

Hi, I got an p6n platinum oem board, which looks different to the original board by msi. There are no heatpipes inside and the e-sata is missing and it looks like the p6n sli (without platinum). The BIOS ID: MSI P6N SLI Platinum A7350NM7 V1.08 110107.
Where can I get the BIOS update/is it possible to flash with original msi BIOS update?

We can not offer support for OEM products. Support is only available for MSI Retail products.
Remember, there may be slight design differences between the OEM version and the retail version. The retail bios may brick or distabilize the OEM version.

KT4V BIOS update needed for 9600XT

I have a KT4V (MS6712) running version 1.0 BIOS (never updated). I tried an ATI Radeon 9600XT a couple of days ago. the system and display went nuts. I figured the card was DOA, but I have since reaad on this board that a newer version of the BIOS was to fix the ATI 9600 problem. Should I try to update my BIOS to run this card since I need to update my system.

Friend, does it means that Mod must have each and every mobo???

Bios update..help me owners of asus a7v333

well, yesterday i bought an asus a7v333 (best mobo), because i was having a tough time trying to run games with the old one(msi kt4ultra-sr + radeon 9700)
Now everything seems to be perfect with this new awesome mobo...games...operation system etc
there's just a small problem...
the current bios version of my mobo is 1013
and the last one is 1015
which software do i have to use to update my bios?
and do i have to update to version 1014 and then 1015, or can i update 1013 to 1015 directly?
please...help me guys...i'm a newbie..hehe

ITunes and Quicktime Error after automatice Apple update, need help!!!

So I currently have a new labtop with windows vista. I have been runining iTunes for the pass 3 months already no problems. The Apple automatic update has never caused any problems till now. Quicktime needed to be updated today, and I accecpted the update, prior to that iTunes and Quicktime was working properly. Once the quicktime update was complete, it restarted my computer like usual. Then when I tried to open iTunes this error came up:
"iTunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration"
Now I checked the audio configuration and nothing was changed or anything, that has not been touched at all, so I still think it had to do with the update. The next error was came up when I tried to open Quicktime and it read:
"Runtime Error!
Program C://ProgramFiles/QuickTime/QuickTimePlayer.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information"
So as long as I have been using Quicktime and iTunes I have never encountered this, I tried to re-install but the error kept coming up after it was installed. Please help me out!

Bootcamp partion lost after OS X update, Need help repair my disk.

Hi.
After updating to Yousimiti yesterday, i encountered som problems with my bootcamp partion.
I wasn't able to boot from the partion. I googled a lot, and found some posts, where the problem was resolved, and followed the following steps:

After this i was able to boot form my Drive, but it tells me: "Operating system missing".
Then i started investigating further i saw that my bootcamp partion now only is 60GB, where before it was 100GB.
When i first made my Bootcamp i made it 60GB which i fast found out was not enough for the programs i needed, so i used a program on windows to expand the patron, from empty space on the disk. Now i have 40GB blokced space, and the 60GB Bootcamp.
From what i have read the problem is that Windows and OS X does not use the same Data table format.
Is it possible to Rewrite the datable, os that OS X knows that the Windows part is 100GB and not only 60?

10.6 has been pulled from the online store & Apple Stores, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard.

OS 10.2 update need help please!

So i have a blackberry z10 which i bought off of someone, they were with either bell or rogers and than gave it to me and now it's with koodo. After buying the phone i noticed in small black letters at the top of me phone and it says " not for sale" and than a whole bunch of numbers. Everyone i know has the update except for me, i also live in Canada so i read that i was suppose to have the update already? I was told that i might have a " test trail" phone ? Like the phones that were given out to try out the z10, but i was told that if my phone is a test trail one it wouldve stopped working after a month and ive had it much longer than a month so i keep checking for th update and i know for a fact koodo has sent out their OS 10.2 update? So basically what im trying to say is, does anyone know if my phone can recieve the update or no?

personally, I'd manually load 10.2, it's not hard, just need a PC, a downloaded file, and about 2-3 hours.

Grey Screen after update - need help

Hi
My friend just called me - her macbook is stuck on the grey screen with apple logo - after she done the security updates and restarted.
She can boot into Windows XP (bootcamp) without any issues.
I'm going over there tomorow to help her out and was wondering if someone could give me a little guidance as to what needs to be done.
I guess I can try booting off of the instalation disc and reparing permissions, but after that I'm pretty much lost. Any help is greatly appreciated

I've had this problem twice, and each occurred after a security update.
What helped me was the following:
-Take out your powercord and your battery. Press the power button for about 5 seconds.
-Then, insert your battery and powercord, start the computer, and hold down AppleCTRL+PR.
From what I understand, one of these two steps resets the power management system on the macbook.
After you perform these two steps, your computer may still hang at the grey screen with the apple logo. However! Let it hang for about 5-10 minutes and it will automatically restart, and boot properly.
You can also try calling Apple support on your friend's behalf ... they were more than helpful.

BBM icon missing after update. need help asap please

Hi I'm using a bb bold 9780 and my bbm is 5.0.1.45 and when I tried updating it, it hangs whenever it finishes installing. And when I tired a battery pull, my bbm icon goes missing. Any idea how to solve this issue? Could really need some help here cos its quite impt. Thank you in advance

When you get a chance, do a battery pull. When the red light goes away on the front of the phone, hold down the back button the entire time while the phone is booting up. When the boot is complete, the phone will enter safe mode.

Try to delete it from there and do another battery pull / reinstall.
