  • HT1766 I try restoring backup on my iphone, and it wont let me until I enter a password. I dont remember ever setting a password up, and Ive tried every password I would ever have used, and nothing works.  Any advice?

I try restoring backup on my iphone, and it won't let me until I enter a password.  I don't ever remember setting up a password, however I tried every password I would have done, and it still doesn't work.  I even tried unistalling itunes and re-installing it, and that didn't work either. Any suggestions?

    Encrypted backups are very secure.
Try every possible password you can think of. Try simply leaving the field blank also.

If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.

  • 10.4.11 update wont let computer boot

Hi. My Mac won't boot anymore after the 10.4.11 update. I read in a few other posts about this problem, but don't really understand what needs to be done. I don't have my disks yet as I am at college and they are being mailed to me. I am also in no area of an Apple store. I do have an external drive that I use a purchased copy of "SuperDuper" to copy my stuff to. I think that SuperDuper makes a bootable drive. Is there any way to fix my mac without having to do anything really hazardous and data loosing? If there is, I would love an easy to understand step by step guide. Thanks.
    ~Valentine

Boot from your external, not that you have any other choice, and download the combo version updater from…
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
… and then reapply the 10.4.11 update using that updater onto your internal.

  • I got a new email but ol email keeps coming up when i go to get an app but it wont let me in with my old password and if i go to get newpassword it sends it to my new email

I GOT A NEW EMAIL BUT OLD EMAIL KEEPS COMING UP WHEN I GO TO GET AN APP BUT WHEN I GO TO CHANGE
MY PASSWORD IT SENDS IT TO MY NEW EMAIL.

    Hi jackburkholder,
You will need to delete the iCloud account with your old ID, but before you can do that, you will have to go back into Manage Your Apple ID, and change your Apple ID back to the old address. Don't worry about verifying it, you just need to change it.
Then, go into Settings>iCloud and turn off Find My iPhone (it will ask you for a password - put in your current one to turn it off). Then, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and Delete the iCloud account using your current password.
Also go into Settings>iTunes & App Store, clidk on your old ID and sign out of iTunes.
Then go back to Manage Your Apple ID and put your new Apple ID back in.
Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your new Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID.
Go back into Settings>iTunes & App Store and sign on with your new Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID.
    Cheers,

  • L755-S5216 Due to unknown BIOS password unable to boot to optical drive for recovery

Unable to access BIOS or change Boot Order due to unknown BIOS password.  Called Toshiba Tech Support and they say they don't have a MoBo diagram or sevrice manual so I can find jumpers to reset BIOS.  They told me to call local repair, but they are also unwilling to help.  Tried removing CMOS battery, no go.  There must be somone out there who can help me with location of reset jumpers.  I'm beginning to think I wil no longer be recommedning Toshiba.  Thanks to anyone who can help!

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that number.  It’s an independent contractor for Toshiba and they also are unwilling to provide the simple information on how to reset the BIOS.  I don't understand how no one at Toshiba is willing to provide this information.  Anyone who purchases an electronic product is entitled to a schematic or diagram of the jumpers on the motherboard.  Independent contractors shouldn't be put in the position of supplying tech support for Toshiba, and so it's understandable that they won't and would rather charge $175 for something that anyone should be able to do themselves.   I hope this can be escalated to someone in Toshiba management.  There are many laptop choices.  Holding back simple information to allow one to fix their own Toshiba laptop is not good corporate strategy.

  • Lenovo T400 Boot/Bios Password

Reinstalled the system, have set a boot and bios password. Stupidly I forget to write it down, now I cannot remember anymore.
Need help to reset the boot and bios password asap.

    mrmail, welcome to the forum,
as far as the bios password is concerned; please refer to the T400 Maintainance Manual. Page 65 of the pdf would be a good place to start.
    Other than that I'm afraid you need to remember what you entered as a password; the forum rules state;
No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to
subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms,
fingerprint scans, etc, nor shall any posts provide descriptions to the

  • Disable BIOS Password on Boot?

Is there a way to disable BIOS password on Boot? I know the password & all. It's just annoying to have to keep putting it in on start, then having to sign in again seconds later. Thanks in advance.

Hi there Majkel and all others,
This forum gui is difficult to use/understand so apologies for my naivety.
This is a strange situation so hopefully someone can help!
Recently I found a Toshiba A120 satellite pro in a rubbish bin.
I cant stand the idea of goog tech going to waste so I pick it out and dusted it off hoping that I could get it
    working again.
However even though when I got it home and it powered up oh joy, my glee was indeed short lived by
    one single word, thats right
    "password="
I tried reading the sata hard drive on a separate usb to see if I could find out whose it was and contact them.
    Hard drive dead.
I tried knocking on all the doors near where I found it to find the owner and try and get the password from them.(fingers crossed someone may be able to help?)
I tried my nearest laptop repair shop he quoted 100 for soldering in a new bios chip which sounded expensive and suspiciously like it wouldnt work.
I'm willing to send it into toshiba if I have to but I would really like to find a way to contact the original owner
and simply ASK THEM what the password is, I would even pay them to find out if I had to.
The only info I have is the serial number which is- s/n- 76041309h or the longer number on the bottom which is- i76041309hssac0007009ENB
If there is any way to get hold of the original owner and ask them it would be a godsend!
Thank you to anyone who can help!
    Luke ;-)

  • Administrator Bios Password won't work on HP 4420s XT940UT#ABA Windows 7 64 Bit

Someone please help me with this!!
I bought this laptop from a friend (have a receipt) who sold it to me because the screen was cracked and all spidered out when you turned it on. Well everywhere he went to ask about getting the screen fixed it was very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said he would just get a newer laptop. So he sold me this one which is a HP4420s XT940UT#ABA Probook Model. About a week after I bought this Probook the friend who sold it to me died suddenly. This was sudden and terrible. Some time later I got around to buying the LCD screen for this model, replaced it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro edition 64 Bit. After installing all my software and using the laptop for quite some time now, I wanted to get into the Bios which I had never done. So when I started up the laptop, hit escape, then F10 to enter BIOS, there were two places to enter a password which is different then any Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees that I set up using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/Administrator. Well I can make most changes using the one I set up with my password however my password doesn't work nor can I get into some of the very important changes I wanted to make using the Bios/Administrator, like turning on the LoJack, figuring out the hard disk lock etc, turning on turbo boost, fan controls, etc. Well Since the person I bought it from is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to for the answer to this Administrator/BIOS password question / problem.  I tried taking out the Rtype battery and resetting it that way, didn't work. I called HP multiple times and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS I have already, wouldn't let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and put in BiosConfigureUtility.exe nothing happens, just tells me wrong command. When I try to get into the BIOS going through the C: file into the SSM files, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open and it just flashes a small command page way to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop figuring I have so much time and money invested into it now. Could the problem have something to do with installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7 instead of the 32 bit I guess it originally came with? I have all the manuals and they say that this laptop is Windows 7 Pro Ultimate 64 bit compatible so that's what I installed. I get mixed answers from a lot of different people on this and would like a answer from an HP person who has experience dealing with the BIOS in the Business models of Probooks if possible please. I really like this Probook and have since became a major fan of HP over Dell and Lenovo products.  I plan to buy two more probooks, one for my wife and one for my daughter because this one is like a MacBook, only better.  Thank you for reading this and hopefully someone can help.

once you log a support case with HP customer care, they will provide you once utility and steps to run it. which can capture the UUID. BTW- UUID is a unique ID for each machine (16 or more digits) stored in BIOS itself.
Once the utility results(UUID and other info) in the log file, shared with HP. they can generate a key file(SMC) to reset.
well, Technical support depertment can help you in it, no need to ask for any specific person or department.
    hope it helps.

  • I don't know BIOS password for Satellite A100-528 PSAA2E

    hi..i have a problem...
    i have a laptop Toshiba SATELLITE A100-528 PSAA2E-01H00WGE....
the problem is that i downloaded toshiba HW setup and i accidentaly set a password..
.not a user password....it's propably supervisor password or bios password...
.the thing is that i don't know what the password is...i boot up my pc and it don't let me get in windows if i don't type the password.....is there any way to remove the password ??
it does not let me either boot from a cd or usb....i press F12 in order to choose to boot from cd or usb but it's still asks for the unknown password....is there any solution ??
    please answer it's critical !!
    thank you very much...

    >the problem is that i downloaded toshiba HW setup and i accidentaly set a password..
    >.not a user password....it's propably supervisor password or bios password...
Thats weird because the BIOS or Supervisor password can be reset only by an authorized service provider.
The BIOS password is a high security option which cannot be reset easily.
So ONLY ASP can remove a UNKNOWN password.

  • Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server BIOS password issue

We have a Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server BIOS password issue.
We needed to turn on Bit locker in the Cisco Server VCS C220. To do this we needed to create an administrator password for the BIOS to turn on trusted Platform Module (TPM). After we set up the administrator password and turn on Security for TPM. We were prompted for the administrator password. It would not let us log in with the administrator password that we created for the BIOS. In the next few days we received a BIOS is corrupted screen (BIOS Flash Image Corrupted *****).We follow procedures to recover the BIOS with the USB stick with recovery .cap file in the root folder. We tried reseating the jumper pg. 35 of the Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server of the Installation and Service Guide.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/install/C220.pdf
We were able to bring up the server, but we are still not able to get pass the Admin password issue. We tried to clear the CMOS header with Header J37 page 2-18 but we had no success with clearing out the password prompt. Figure 2-6 Service Header Locations shows the J41 BIOS RCVR boot and J37 Clear CMOS.
Can anyone provide us documentation of where the pins are located on the motherboard to clear the BIOS password? We are looking for more of a detail picture of the pins please. The documentation is only showing a basic diagram of the header locations.

You need to look at the CUCM logs for further info on what might have happened, and to make sure your servers are fit for the amount of users, devices, etc. you have in your environment.

  • Bios Password in A305..Please help..URGENT!!!!

Hi...please help guys..i have a problem with my friends laptop..he accidentally change the bios passwod and forgot it what he put on it..the model is Satellite A305-s6905..i already open it and look for some jumper setting to reset it..but no success..i cant find a word like CMOS clear or CMOS reset..i already download the flash bios on this site so that the bios will reset but..the problem is ,it wont boot first on the DVDROM because you must enter first the password...please please help me...i want to show it on a accredited toshiba repair center but their are asking for the orignal reciept and that reciept is already gone 1 year ago...i wish you could help me guys...our thesis is almost near and we cant finish the thesis because its inside that laptop...

There are thousands of laptops that get stolen annually. To make sure that it is not a stolen laptop, the Toshiba service places demand that you show some documentation proving its yours. One way to do that is to register your computer. In that way you can prove your ownership without having the reciept. The Toshiba techs can access the Registered Computer database and verify that the person at the counter is the legitimate owner even without a receipt.
Did you use a credit card? Maybe the credit card company would have the invoice for your computer, along with the serial number of the computer. Or what about the dealer that sold the computer? Maybe they have a record of the sale, along with the serial nrumber of the computer.
Just think if your computer had been stolen. You wouldn't want a Toshiba tech to remove the Bios password on your computer just because the thief had "forgotten" the password?

  • Bios password reset

I have been using my laptop Compaq Presario V3000 with service tag v3070TU from last eight years. This laptop is also being used by my kids for playing games. As we know that there are two types of BIOS password i.e. "Supervisor" and "User". I had kept both passwords separate. For myself, I kept Supervisor password. Kids also kept their own User password.  I was in view that I can change ”User" password whenever I wish as I was using Supervisor password.  The time went by. The kids changed "User" password as they wished. Later I purchased Desktop for them.  Again the time passed and for opening the laptop I always used my own  ”Supervisor" password. No issues. The kids forgot their own password. But I was assured that I will change it whenever required. So few days back I thought to change the password kept by kids. To my surprise, I was unable to change the password. I search many forums and tried to reset the password as per procedure laid by HP. but all efforts failed. Then I thought may be upgrading BIOS will reset the password to default. So
I upgraded the Bios to the latest one F.25 (phoenix BIOS) to my surprise, my laptop still wanted the password to boot. Though I could do all the office work on my laptop but still I always felt handicap due to password issue.
Yesterday I thought why not to clear my “Supervisor” password  so that it may not ask any password during boot. So I entered BIOS and navigated to supervisor password, pressed enter twice, and got alert that password is removed. Saved, rebooted and It again asked for password. Now my Supervisor password is also not working, even pressing “Enter” during boot is not working.  Now I cannot enter in setup also.
    Please help.
