BIP 10.1.3.3.1 Windows install fails if path contains spaces

Hi
A quick note to all who might be installing the latest BIP 10.1.3.3.1 windows.
I had the install media in a directory:-
C:\Software\Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.1\Windows\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher_Standalone
Running the Setup.exe.fails every time....
I moved it to directory:-
C:\Software\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher_Standalone
and the install runs ok..
(This might be a general issue with all Oracle Universal Installers, but it's quite annoying! ;( )
Happy BIP'ing with 10.1.3.3.1!
Mike

  • Windows Install fails to detect VSTO 4.0 in Windows machine

I’ve to install excel based application developed in VS 2010.
Windows installer fails while detecting VSTO in Windows 7/8/8.1. Its perquisites are .Net framework 4.0 client frame work and VSTO 4.0.
Even we have installed VSTO manually and re-run our setup and again we are getting the same error (“Installer was not able to automatically download the VSTO installation”), the custom message. Don’t know what is blocking to detect VSTO on some particular
machine. I'm using only this condition "VSTORUNTIMEREDIST>="10.0.30319" as in Launch Conditions from last 3 years.
Now from last couple of months I'm getting this error when instating my application, somehow when I add another condition i.e. VSTORUNTIMEREDIST>="10.0.30319" OR OFFICERUNTIME>=”10.0.21022”, it works properly.
I want to know that is there any windows patch is released due to which my installer is not able to detect VSTO in machine.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Mac Mini 2012 BootCamp Windows install failing

    Hello,
I have the new 2012 Mac Mini (model Macmini6,2).  I'm having difficulties installing Windows 7 with Bootcamp.
I run the Bootcamp Assistant which successfully creates a Windows 7 install disk (on a USB drive).  It also successfully downloads the latest windows support software and puts it on a different USB drive.  The hardrive partition options come up and after selecting the desired partion layout the system reboots and starts booting the Windows installer.  This is where things go wrong...
The Windows installer is unable to recognize my installed hard drive.  It asks for additional drivers and regardless of what drivers I select from the Windows support files it never is able to see the hard drive, and therefore can't continue with the installation.
Has anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Well, the first time I did format the BootCamp partition with Win 7, just like I did for the Win 8 install previously, and I still got the error.
But I just tried again after a reboot, and the Win 7 install worked this time.
But the partitions listed were different this time. Previously Windows displayed partitions on 2 disks (disk 1 and disk 2), but this time it only displayed one disk.  So something changed between the first time I tried it and this second time.
After the failure the first time, I read some discussions on the Fusion drive, and it appears that the Boot Camp partition is created on the mechanical drive only, and that if you use Boot Camp / Windows, you will not gain any benefit from the SSD or Fusion architecture.  If this is accurate, it is a bummer.

  • Windows install fails at 75% completion

760GM-P34fx motherboard, AMD PhenomII X4  965e processor.  I built this computer about a month ago with a different motherboard and it has been running Windows 7 flawlessly, no problems.  I decided to upgrade to the MSI motherboard.  All appears normal in the bios and it shows the CPU, etc in the bios system information screen.  When I install Windows 7, the installation proceeds through all steps to part way through the final "Completing Installation."   It completes "Setup is updating registry settings" and "Starting services."  It then does a restart.  The Windows splash screen comes up, but instead of the OS coming up, it simply goes to a black screen, and does the same on any further restarts.
All of the hardware has been operating normally for Windows 7 for the past month, except the new motherboard.
    Any ideas?  Any help appreciated!

That diagnosis fit the symptoms, but-- guess what, with a new Asus M5A97 R2.0 board installed, I have exactly the same problem, and this board supplies up to 140 watts.  Everything looks good as reported in the bios, running cool temps, 4 cores at 3400Mhz, etc.  And XP still running without a hitch.
    More specs:
    Graphics: Radeon HD4850
    RAM: 2x 4 Gb Crucial (Micron) DDR3 1333
    HD: 160Gb Seagate ST3160023AS
Power supply: Seasonic SS-500HT (500 watts)
At this point it's clearly not an MSI problem, but you seem very knowledgeable so I hope you (or anyone else with an idea) will help with this further.  Since my first post here, I've: tried a Win 7 64 install from another source, (same result) removed one of the two ram chips, removed one of two hard drives, and run a diagnostic on the ram, which came up normal.  Any further ideas?  I keep thinking it may be a driver issue, but this is all mainstream hardware that should be supported well enough to do an install before any further driver updates.
    Thanks much for any input!

  • Yosemite install fails: "not enough free space in the Core Storage Logical Volume Group for this operation"

This is on a Mac Mini, running Mavericks, with a fusion drive (1TB/128GB), and 85GB free space.
    Any ideas?

I too experienced the Low Disk space event…  I hit the restart button and the install started again… I thought I got caught in a loop.
On the third time seeing the crawl bar for the Yosemite install I hit the Power Button and force killed the whole process.
Upon rebooting I saw horizontal black and white bars across the screen and VERY Slow everything.
Boot, Icon Bounce, Application Launch, Keyboard response… etc.
I was able to get to the Desktop and then I re-installed Yosemite.  Dragging a window was laggy, and jerky…
On the third install of Yosemite things improved some, almost but not quite as fast as Mavericks …  Some improvement but copy/writes remained very slow.
I now notice that some Applications such as “Clean My Mac” fail to launch and am still finding out if all are functional.
I have a home rolled Fusion Drive.
Currently I am considering a Clean Yosemite install and a TM restore.
Console and Activity Monitor report callservicesd and Chromehelper among others not responding…
I am on hold for the last ten minutes to Apple Support... They must be VERY busy today...

  • ProClarity 6.3 PAS install fails on Windows Server 2012

We are trying to install PAS 6.3 on Windows Server 2012 and the install fails with the following error
    The following requirements are missing:
    Windows Server 2003 SP1
We have successfully installed on Windows Server 2008 R2, so it really isn't a Windows Server 2003 SP1 issue.
Has anyone successfully installed on Windows Server 2012?  Is there a way to force the installer not to check for the OS?
    Thanks.
    Kevin

I have a PAS server running in Windows 2012, by doing exactly the same pre-requisites  that you do in Windows 2008 r2 (iis, Framework, SQL ADO 2005 / 2008). With the Windows Server 2003 SP1 message you can avoid it by doing a really simple thing that
is right click the setup file --> properties, and head to the "Compatibility Tab" and run it with compatibility mode Windows 7, also run it with Admin permissions. This let you pass by the message and let you install the product.  Remember, after  the
installation, you need to check all the IIS config, folder permissions, that you did in Windows 2008 x64  installation. Also, the App pool needs to work with .NET 2.0 not 4.0.
    Good luck!

  • How can i make the volume controller on a pavillion dv4 work after a clean windows install?

    Hello!
Recently I performed a clean windows 7 install from a windows install disk I previously owned, the problem is that this disk didn't intalled the drivers and programs specific for this computer. What I want to know is which driver or program I need to install to make the volume controller on my computer to work again? The problem is that the volume bar that previously appeared on the screen and the "bing" sound indicating the volume level doesn't appear or sound now.
All other things seem to work fine, this is the only problem so far.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Try downloading and installing the latest HP OSD Utility on the following link.

After the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

  • Windows 7 install failing on brand-new Apple-replaced harddrive

I just got my (8-week-old) computer back from Apple, with a brand new hard drive. Before restoring all my files, I figured I'd get Boot Camp installed so the partitions are set, etc.
Every time I try, the Windows 7 install fails about 10% of the way in, with either a 0xC0000005 error (installation sources are unaccessible) or a 0x80070005 error (the only Apple support document about this talks about an upgrade from Vista, which isn't what I'm doing).
Reading posts, I disconnected my USB hub, and this time I got a BSOD with this error:
    iRQLNOT_LESS_OREQUAL
In between tries, I used Disk Utility to remove the boot camp partition, and reset my Mac partition to use the whole drive, so that I could start cleanly with Boot Camp Installer. The one time I tried to launch in Windows and repair, it brought me to the "click any key to launch from DVD" but hitting a key did nothing.
I've installed Boot Camp and Windows 7 twice before with this install DVD, and multiple other times with other DVDs/computers.
Ideas? I'm thinking there's something other than a bad hard drive that was wrong with my computer.

Only by either installing Windows on your iMac as a separate partition through Bootcamp, or setting up a virtual Windows machine via the likes of VMWare Fusion, or Parallels Virtual or Desktop.
Factor in the cost of Windows and I think you'll find a new copoy of Mac Photoshop Elements would be cheaper.
You could also try the excellent Graphic Converter from lemkesoft, or the open-source Gimp,

  • Windows 7 Install fails on early Mac Pro

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced a blue screen failure during installation of Windows 7 RC 32-bit on an early Mac Pro (pre-2008). I get almost to the very end of the install during the copy files/settings phase (last one), and after a reboot, Win7 seems to start, but eventually crashes with a blue screen.
This is on a separate hard drive formatted to all NTFS. I've tried an install from the DVD from scratch (freshly formatted drive), and then again as an upgrade from a Vista installation (this all took many hours - and I do this for fun?). All with 32 bit since I don't have access to 64 bit drivers. But the result was uniform in both cases. The same version installed perfectly with vmWare Fusion.
So I suspect some issue with my Mac Pro Quad, which is an early, first generation version. I know others have had success with Win7 on a Mac Pro, but maybe on 2008 and later versions?
I have yet to try Win7 64-bit. Hopefully will get cured by final release, but would just like to know if anyone else with early Mac Pros have had success.

I don't think you really need to worry about 64-bit drivers - I don't have any Apple software or Boot Camp.
You don't mention RAM, disk drives, or graphics card, or any other hardware and whether you tried w/o.
I would warn that our early Mac Pro will have to work around the EFI boot menu that Windows 7 RC x64 presents.
I've had my 7300GT culprit; a disk drive that had to be reformatted in Vista; pull the 4 x 512MB of RAM (Apple) that was beginning to trigger a red light. So there are various items. And they all took hours to diagnose, swapping hardware; lots of head scratching.
There is no cure except to get around hurdles. We are stuck in EFI 32-bit land. May have to / want to buy 10.6 to get newer drivers, but that won't add 64-bit support. You can if you must, get 64-bit Boot Camp. I feel it is optional.
If you can install Vista, then install Windows to another drive, leaving Vista alone. Burn the ISO to DVD and copy the DVD back to a 8GB NTFS partition and run Windows Install Setup off that is fast and neat.
Setup a drive with room for Vista, Windows 7 RC, 8GB ISO partition, and data partition. Or expand to multiple drives.
Burn the DVD slower. There are other tips and ideas.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1866970&tstart=0
I've found Kaspersky 2010 beta and license from 2009 Internet Suite to probably be the best I've tested so far in that area.
Fusion use to use Windows Server 2008, maybe it got updated to include a better profile, or it was only x64 that had any problems. Sun VirtualBox is another. With that, you can modify the DVD to allow booting easier if needed.
I have Vista SP1, then put in Vista SP2-RC (same drive) and for Windows 7 I have one install that is for testing anything new first, and another that I use daily regularly - and prefer to use 7.7100 RC now instead of Vista.
Installing Windows while booted in Windows is neat, can be fast, but first find the hardware issue. Most BSOD is drivers and need to safe boot and uninstall drivers, but you may not have gotten even that far. And don't until you have a restore point, and be ready to reboot from Vista or 7 DVD to repair Windows.

  • Boot Camp Windows install format to NTFS not working.

As a preface I am new to Apple and more complex computer issues in general. With that said I have spent several hours trying to get Windows 8.1 installed from the DVD media to a partition created using Boot Camp Assistant. I have tried several suggestions and looked through many threads, blogs and articles and none seem to have the correct answer. Below are the steps that I have followed and the issue that I run into every time.
    Open Boot Camp Assistant
Select Download the latest Windows support software from Apple
Select Install Windows 7 or later version
Download support software to USB Drive (leave connected)
         Create a Partition (200GB)
Hold Option on Reboot and Select Windows
    Begin the Windows install process
Select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)
Installation asks: Where do you want to install Windows?
Select Drive 0 partition 4: BOOTCAMP
         Error Message Details:
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style.
Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS.
Solution I found from many threads is that I need to "Format" the partition. To do so I:
Select Drive 0 Partition 4: BOOTCAMP
         Select Format
Select Drive 0 Partition 4 (No longer titled as BOOTCAMP after the reformat)
              Error Message Details:
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style.
I cant seem to find a solution to this. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried removing all other connected drives and devices, and recreating the partition several times with no luck.
    Machine Info:
    OS X Yosemite 10.10.2
    Mac (27-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I also have VMware Fusion installed on the machine and already used the Windows installation media to create a virtual machine. Is it possible to transfer my virtual machine to a Boot Camp partition? I did a little research and it looks as though thats not possible (at least not easily) but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm still working to get a solution so any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
The installation media I purchased is for windows 8.1. Is that the issue? Do I need to install 8 not 8.1?

  • Problems with Windows install and erasing Boot camp partition.

I recently decided I'd try running a copy of XP on my Macbook, the only reason being that the software for my OU work is only available on Windows. I used Boot camp assistant to partition my hard drive which went smoothly. When I tried to install Windows, I get to the Windows install screen, and it says "Press enter to begin installation". Unfortunately, my keyboard doesn't seem to work, so obviously I can't begin the installation. I've tried using my old Apple USD keyboard, but it didn't make any difference. I thought I'd try the whole process from scratch, but found I can't erase the original partition. I've read that you should use Boot camp assistant again, but when I press the continue key, I get the message:
"The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
Does anybody know a way of sorting either of these problems out? Much appreciated.

I've been doing a bit more reading into the problem. I think the keyboard problem's because I'm not using the SP2 version on XP. So hopefully once I get a copy, I should be able to sort it. But I still can't seem to use BCA to erase the partition.

Do any of you have any ideas as to what might be the problem.
    Many thanks,

    Hi David,
Thanks for getting back to me.  One question, Do I need to install CMS seperately or the does
         the BusinessObjects installs it?
When I did the BusinessObjects install it installed the Microsoft SQL server 2008 Express and created an
SQL Server Instance named BOE140.  I checked with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (which I downloaded from Microsoft) and saw that no tables were created.
         Regarding the message
"(.\crypto.cpp:199). (FALSE : digest exception: The FIPS140 shared library could not be found (10027))."
listed in the log file above,  what is my system missing.
Looks like CMS is not getting installed.
I am doing the install on a VMware Windows 2008 system with 8 GB ram and 50 GB file space.
Are there any special requirements of configuration on the Windows system?
         Thanks for your help,
         Arvind

  • How to setup the windows installed pxi to RT target

how to setup the windows installed pxi to RT target?

    Ranjith,
I think the answer for your 1st que is NO. In the sense, you can run the code, but it may not work precisely as it is supposed to...
A target can be said to be an RT, if & only if it has an RTOS installed in it, not just Windows, which is not a real-time OS.
Youcan run the existing code in Windows, but as I said earlier, it may not give you the actual results.
Finally, hereafter, pl dont use the term 'box' for a PXI. It is a chassis with a main module that runs on Windows or an embedded RT processor/conrtoller that runs on an RTOS like VxWorks or Phsr Lap.
Hope this helps you to some extent...

    Hello JashaCOLD,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your external hard drive.  I found an article with steps you can take when an external device is not being recognized.
I recommend following the steps in the section titled "Top troubleshooting tips" in the following article:
