BIP bursting large document size files.

We have BIP and we are running FSG's and bursting them to BIP standalone product. Our files are large and when we process a 500 meg file, the tag on the xml file get removed. Is there away to burst large reports without this happening? Or what is the size limit. We are currently creating 10 reports with different sizes to get the information from EBS to BIP.
Any help with will be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for your response.
Apologies, I've not explained myself well here. The majority of the information within the large pdf has come from word files although not all of it. There are also visio drawings and AutoCAD drawings. Generally with the AutoCAD drawings, I receive them already pdf'd and it is I suspect these which cause the large file size (they often contain OS mapping data or ECW files). I guess this explains the main reason I used pdf in the first place, it's software that can convert many diffferent file types into the same format, like in this instance. Unfortunately I am unable to post an example as the information relates to a government agency and the content may be deemed sensitive.
The large file is essentially an electronic version of a suite of 6 hardcopy ringbinders. The obvious answer is to break down the document into smaller files (i.e. one for each volume of the suite). The problem here is that there are links within the file whereby references to other volumes are linked, taking the user straight to the section referred to. If I break the large file down I will lose this functionality, unless there is a way to link to a specific section of another document? If so, please enlighten me how this works.
Hopefully I've explained things a little better now but whether my explanation helps find a solution I don't know.

When dragging an image onto a fresh canvas, the resizing feature presnaps the image into the canvas size. I can confirm that this has not happened to me in previous projects. I've also tested this problem by making a new larger document size and dragging in the same render. It snaps again. I don't want to re-size from the canvas dimensions, I want to resize from the render's original dimensions.

  • Attaching additional BLOB pdf document to an email snet by BIP Bursting

    Hi,
I am trying to attach an additional pdf document which is stored in the database as a BLOB to an email that is sent via BIP bursting. I am using Oracle Applications v11.5.10.2. Does anyone have any input on how to do this or if its possible? Basically, I am generating a BIP report and sending it in an email using the Bursting process within BIP, but I want to attach an additional .pdf document to the same email. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Dynamic Delivery Content
You can reference information in the XML data to be put into the delivery content. This
takes the same format described above (that is, ${ELEMENT}).
For example, suppose you wanted to burst a document to employees via e-mail and
personalize the e-mail by using the employee's name in the subject line. Assuming the
employee's name is held in an element called ENAME, you could use ${ENAME} to
reference the employee's name in the control file as follows:
    subject="Employee Details for ${ENAME}"
    Sample Control File
The following sample control file shows an example control file to split data based on
an EMPLOYEE element and send an e-mail to each employee with their own data. The
    sample file is annotated.

of '123'. It also sets the e-mail
address of the employee and a cc copy to a parameter value
    EMAIL_ALL; this might be a manager's e-mail. The employee's

  • How do I increase the font size of a large document?

Whenever I try to increase the font size of a large document, the text boxes cross their boundaries and mix with each other, or partly disappear at the end of every page. Do I really have to adjunst every text bos in the document or is there a faster way? Im having this issue with adobe acrobat 11 pro

This is not a feasible thing to do. Editing a PDF is a desperate last resort for so many reasons.
Whatever you need to solve, you are unlikely  to solve it in Acrobat. Probably best to export text and remake it.

  • Why is menu size so much larger than the files?

I am somewhat perplexed - I'm making a single-layer dvd and have a simple single screen theme (no animation) - it has one drop zone. The movie has 28 chapters so there are five of them, but so far I've added only one montage of photos to each menu page - it's a "mobile" quality in media browser and ave only 10 - 20 MB, then one song. On average these movie clips are 1:00 to 2:00 min long and the music is cut to that length. So, all told, it's probably less than 110 MB in files - but when I look at the project properties, the menus are 3301 MB!!!
The movie itself is only 1.1 GB so what is going on?
It's preventing me from doing the project and I've got no idea why it's making the menu size so much larger than the file sizes?
Can you please help me figure out what to do?
    Alexa

The 2 min clips were natively 2 min - I had each one separate and actually converted to media browser in "mobile" size (b/c the drop zone was 4 x 6 in size in the theme). They were tiny - in most cases I was shortening the audio (e.g. the song was 4 minutes and I was setting the loop to only 1:30 b/c that's how long the video clip was on the menu).
BUT, to resolve the question (I always like to post the answer) - I ended up duplicating the project to try to reimport the video. It was a fresh iDVD project and I happened to click on the project tree of screens - and, lo and behold, the ENTIRE menu was duplicated for some reason (and the movie, actually). I went back to the original and it was the same! I have no idea how that would happen do you? It only had one main menu screen - and then an entire duplicate menu - which I wouldn't even know how to access if I didn't see it in the project menu tree?
The only think of is that at one point I added a title menu link to the scene selection - it gave me a warning that my menu was more than 12 minutes, did I want to fix or ignore and fix later - which confused me b/c it was under 12 min, then but I clicked ignore. Does that create an alternate title menu and send people back to something else?
Anyway, I deleted the entire extra scene selection menus (5 of them) and it was back to under 4 GB.
So, I was able to burn, but still wondering about creating the "title menu" link on scene selections? It drives me crazy that it doesn't automatically do that so I like to add "main menu" links.
    Thanks for your help!

  • File  Adapter :- Handling Large documents

    Hi
I am currently working on File Adapter. Reading large documents and writing the same in to some other file location.
I came across the following techniques:
    1. Scalable DOM
    2. File Chunk Read.
Can any one help me the exact use cases of the above mentioned techniques in File Adapter.
    Thanks

    1. Scalable DOM - is used to move/copy large files intact.
    2. File Chunk Read - is used to process large documents (it uses a while loop).
When you're using File ChunkRead, you can take a large document with many elements and for each of those elements, perform some operations.
    -----------Documentation-----------
    **Oracle File Adapter Scalable DOM
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABCHCEI
This use case demonstrates how a scalable DOM process uses the streaming feature to copy/move huge files from one directory to another.
The streaming option is not supported with DB2 hydration store.
You can obtain the Adapters-103FileAdapterScalableDOM sample by accessing the Oracle SOA Sample Code site.
    **Oracle File Adapter ChunkedRead
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABJFCBH
This is an Oracle File Adapter feature that uses an invoke activity within a while loop to process the target file. This feature enables you to process arbitrarily large files.
You can obtain the Adapters-106FileAdapterChunkedRead sample by accessing the Oracle SOA Sample Code site.

As far as my knowledge goes it supports MQSERVER. But I am not sure of AMQCLCHL.TAB. Also AMQCLCHL.TAB have some disadvantages when compared with MQSERVER.
    http://www3.sympatico.ca/n.rieck/docs/mqseries_client_on_openvms.html
Also the primary inefficiency of this AMQCLCHL.TAB format is its size. When this file is managed by the queue manager (which is your only choice without using this perl module), it grows and never shrinks. When channels are deleted, the linked list pointers are modified so that the deleted entry is merely skipped, but it is not removed from the file.
    http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/CodeDoc/MQSeries/MQSeries/Config/ChannelTable.html#Secrets%20of%20AMQCLCHL.TAB
When new entries are added, a deleted entry will be searched for and reused if found. If not, a new entry will be added to the end of the file. The size problem occurs if you ever create a very large channel table file, since that will effectively extend the file size permanently.
use of MQSERVER differs from AMQCLCHL.TAB only with respect to the exits. To learn more on this:

  • Cs4 small jpeg file shows as large image size

Hi I am using Photoshop CS4 and I am trying to downsize images shot from my camera to less than 1 mb, by shifting the quality of the jpeg slider to the left in the save as menu.
Once I've done that when I open the newly reduced jpeg file again, and I go to the image Size, it shows as 25 Mb,
This started happening after I reinstalled the Cs4 Creative Suite to my computer.
What can I do, as when I tried to upload the images, ebay said they were too large, ie the file size of the image didnt get reduced at all.
Is it possible to fix this as I have reinstalled the software twice, and I still get the same problem,
    thanks

Is it possible to fix this as I have reinstalled the software twice, and I still get the same problem
I think the problem is not at all Photoshop’s.
When you degrade an image by reducing the jpg quality the number of pixels does not change so the uncompressed image (as indicated for the opened file in Photoshop’s Image Size dialog) naturally has the old size.
What are ebay’s image requirements? Do they mention some maximum width/height in pixels?

    Hi Charlotte,
You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
    IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

  • Clipboard from IllustratorCC 17.1 no longer creates "New File" document size in PhotoshopCC 14.2

This is a headache and a half:
Typically (Before Photoshop CC Upgrade 14.2 and Illustrator Upgrade 17.1.0) the CMYK Vecor Objects copied from Illustrator would provide an exact document size when creating a new Photoshop Document with Preset: Clipboard.
In this sample (which worked days before perfectly) the vector object I have in my clipboard is 70"x34.5". It would have opened up a New Photoshop document at 70"x34.5" and I'd select any resolution I wanted. Now, it seems to be copying "Pixels" only from Illustrator. Meaning it gives me only the width of 16.703" x 8.273". This is the correct proportion, but not the correct size. Now I can not do basic tricks in PSD and bring them back over to AI the same exact size as before.
This is a headache and a half. I have tried changes in AI to the Clipboard preferences, turning off SVG Code for the Clipboard.
    This does not solve it:
In Photoshop I can not find any preference that talks about file handling or clipboards.
    Temporary Workaround:
My solution to this is to have to remember my actual dimensions from AI and create my new document by inserting all the information exactly, before pasting the Vectors into Photoshop. This complicates and slows down my workflow.
    Second Solution:
Saving my artboard to PDF and reopening the artboard into Photoshop seems to retain the original document size data. Still a few extra steps that I never had to make since Photoshop 3.0
I formally request that the Adobe Team figure out this Clipboard issue from AI to PSD.
This is not for a lack of understanding of Pixels vs. Vectors. Don't reply with questions to that effect. I know what I am doing here folks.
    Thanks.
    Greg
    www.creativebearings.com

Sounds to me like you are pasting it as a path. (I paste as pixels).
But the problem is that you are changing the ppi, while leaving the dimension in total pixels. Before you change the PPI, change the width and height to inches or mm or cm, then change the ppi, then it should paste in just fine.
Case in point, right now I have a clipboard file that is 125 x 28 pixels at 72 dpi. If I change the dpi to 300, the file will still only be 125x28 pixels. If I change the paramaters from pixels to inches 1.736 x .389"  - then I can change the resolution to 300ppi  which gives me a file that is 521pixels by 117 pixels.
Now the issue for me is that I have to do this for EVERY file I paste over from illustrator, when prior to the 'update' any new document would be created at the same resolution as the previous document I was working on. So if I was working on 1200 ppi files, the next new one I would make would also default to 1200 ppi regardless of what was in the clipboard.

I am very confused and if someone could assist me with some

  • Resize a layer to a percentage of the document size and position in corner

I need to create a script that places a logo in the corner of my main document but i need the logo to be constrained to a percentage of the document size. my logos needs to live in the bottom right corner of my images and be no larger than 28 percent height and no larger than 60 percent of the width of the document. i need it to constrain proportions of the original file so if the logo is square it will remain square, or if it is more rectangular it will maintain its rectangular shape.  Heres what i've come up with so far, i am pretty inept at scripting so if disregarding my current script is more helpful than building upon it please ignore mine:

  • Large Canvas Sizes

I recently purchased a product called Roots Magic for an upcoming family re-union (Sep 13th). This program produces a Family Tree Wall Chart with a canvas size of 10.6" x 396.9" (1' x 33'), and growing. I have pictures within the chart so you can put a face to the name. I am trying to get some format that a local printer can produce a reasonably readable chart. The Roots Magic generated chart is great in format, quality and size of lettering.
I can only export it as a .EMF file as the other options cause RootsMagic to crash.
I can't use Adobe Illustrator, Design, or PDF (which are the preferred formats of the local printers) because their largest canvas size is 227". I tried importing partial EMF files, however, their print size was too small and I couldn't scale the objects without blowing the canvas limit again. Besides, genrating the tree and printing it in pieces, seems to alter the flow of the generations.
Adobe Photoshop has a larger canvas size, I think, however, it does not import EMF files.
I have most of the Adobe products, but I can't seem to find a way to produce something for local commercial printing. Muliple PDF pages, scaled to the same size, appears to be an alternative but I can't seem to find a way to produce this. RootsMagic does not have a lot of alternatives.
    My options seem to be:
    a) find some way to breadown the resulting object intio mutiple canvas sizes
    b) buy my own printer/plotter.
To make matters worse, the chart is growing daily as I receive added updates.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Ian,
Realistically, the folks who come to mind who can output anything 33-feet long are the folks who would make large banner or perhaps some billboard and vehicle graphics stuff, and resolution is probably not going to be satisfactory. Also note, that a Dead Seas Scroll is awkward to handle unless you have a wall to unroll and tack it to. Also note that the graphic file size could exceed 1 GB.
    >buy my own printer/plotter.
Forget about purchasing a printer that can handle this unless multiple pieces are acceptable. For example, an Epson 13" printer (figure spending several hundred dollars) can handle roll-cut printouts, but only up to 44" wide. But if you have to print out more than one or two sets, you're going to be spending a lot of time with this; and a lot of money on ink (and paper if you choose something better than the rather miserable, non-stable 28 lb or 32 lb inkjet bond). But then again, if you have a production house or printer output this for you, you may be spending $10-$12 or more per square foot.
    >I can only export it as a .EMF file as the other options cause RootsMagic to crash.
Get tech support to figure it out, so that if multiple pages is a reasonable option, you can chop the art down and place each segment on a page of a page layout document, such as InDesign or QuarkXPress, if you can save to a compatible format, such as .pdf, .eps .tif or .jpg.
