Birthday Calendar - how do I move item from Home calendar?

I have a Birthday calendar set up but can't find a way to add items to it. Al my birthday reminders are currently in my Home calendar. I am sure (pre latest update) there was an option to open the item and choose which calendar it was in - not any longer, or I can's find it!

Forget it! Just found ref, and now realise that the birthday calendar picks up this information from your contacts list! Doh!

Ahh, Ok. I actually had to go to Lynda.com to watch a training video of this highly bassackwards maneuver, but now I have it. In other words, while the intuitive thing is to make a new event to hold the clip you want and then open the old event and drag the clip into it's new event, the only way to accomplish this maneuver is to NOT create a new event, but rather, go to the clip AFTER the one you want to move, select it and then Right-Click on it and select SPLIT EVENT BEFORE SELECTED CLIP (or go to FILE>SPLIT EVENT BEFORE SELECTED CLIP). Then you wait a few seconds while the program thinks a bit (no feedback it is doing this - just a pause) and then it automatically creates a new event with the clip you wanted. Now just double-click the new event and name it something meaningful.

I hate the new iTunes. It used to show what my iPod Nano Gen 6 had in the library and I could easily move items in and out, but now all I can do is add items to the iPod, but not remove.

HT4847 How can I move items from iCloud to my PC?

I keep on getting messages that my iCloud storage is full. So I wanted to log into my iCloud and move files out of it and onto my harddrive. I can't find a way to do that. So far I manually move my information from my phone to my PC to clear up iCloud backup space. But this seems stupid - what is the point of iCloud if I can't access it?

I just went to icloud-contacts- OFF. It asks if I want to keep my contacts on the phone and I said yes.

Transfer items from one calendar to another (on iMac)

I have a question: how can you transfer all the items from one calendar into another calendar? I thought I had come up with an ingenious solution, but it didn't work (see below).
Years ago, I set up a calendar for my wife and I to use as a "family" calendar. After uploading iOS8, I decided to try transfer all the calendar items from our "family" calendar to the newly created Family calendar. I used the Export command to export all the items in the "family" calendar, and then the Import command to bring them into the Family calendar. BAD IDEA. I got a dialog box telling me the items could not be imported because they were already on the iCloud calendar. This dialog box had to be dismissed by choosing either "Ignore", "Try Again", or "Revert to Server". This dialog box popped up FOR EVERY CALENDAR ITEM. At first I thought I was in an endless loop. I finally put a stapler on my keyboard to hold down the Return key to dismiss the dialog boxes. Even then, it took several minutes to clear the dialog boxes. Apparently, I learned how NOT to transfer items from one calendar to another.

Okay. I have answered my question. The key is to actually read and follow Apple's instructions (i.e. delete the original calendar AFTER exporting it, but BEFORE importing it into the new calendar.)

The first thing to do would be to discover exactly what is filling your iCloud storage and then decide what you don't need.
You can see this information at settings > iCloud > Storage & BackUp > Manage Storage.

I want to move items from one JList to other thru a ADD button placed between JLists, I am able to add element on Right side JList but as soon as compiler encounter removeElementAt() it throws Array Index Out of Bound Exception

For just a few export them out of Library A via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original and import them into Library B.
However, this will not include any edits or metadata (keywords, titles, etc.) that you've added.
To get the original image, any edits and all metadata, keywords, titles, descriptions, places, etc., you'll need the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. It can copy albums or events from one library to another and keep those items I mentioned earlier with the photos.

If you want to change your iCloud ID to another existing ID you'll have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data (including the calendar) to the new account. To do this, first go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPad. After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (Note, this will delete the account from your iPad but not from iCloud. The account will remain in iCloud if anyone else chooses to remain signed into it an continue to use it.) Next, set up the new iCloud account using your new ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On.* When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.

How do I move pictures from 1 offline folder to another offline folder?

My Elements 8 pictures are on the root directory of a 16 gig usb drive. I would like to move them to a new folder on that same drive. I tried to do it in the folder view by selecting the pics in the root folder and dragging them to the new folder. That action was not allowed. I could drag the pics to a C drive folder, but not to a usb drive folder.
I then used the move function.under the File menu. It did the move, but changed the name of each item by adding a "-1" to it. And for each picture it added 1 or 2 small new files to the new folder. I then had to erase the small new files because they caused me to run out of space.
How can I easily move items from one external folder to another on my usb drive?

I tried the Move function. It did not work very well either.
I successfully moved several groups of pictures, but PSE added a "-1" to all the files it created in the folder I was moving the items to, and it created 1 or 2 small jpg files for each of the files I moved. This caused my usb drive to fill up and I had to erase all the extra files. Eventually the "Move" failed in the last group of pictures I tried to move. It copied all of them to the new folder, but failed as it tried to delete them from the original folder. Thus, I now have 2 copies of those picture files on my usb drive.
By adding the "-1" to the file names, PSE does not appear to recognize folders on a usb drive. And I have no idea why it creates the extra small copies of the files...
Any other ideas?

Actually, Reader SHOULD keep showing documents that no longer exist, I disagree. It's no big deal, and people will quickly realise why they can't open the file. They open more files, the old ones move off.
The REASON why it should not check is that checking whether a file exists can take a long time when things aren't good. For instance if a file server goes down, or a memory card is unplugged. That in turn would mean delays opening the File menu, and I've seen some software that can sit there for several minutes. That would really give people something of which to complain...

That message indicate that you are trying to sync with other than the one syncing computer/iTunes library that yo can have. You have to two choices:
- Make this computer your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
- The manual method of syncng specified here:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
or
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
The manaul method on works for music and videos on other than your one syncing computer.
