Birthdays in Notification Center.

I have an iPhone 4 and (regretably) upgraded to iOS6.  I synced my contacts with my facebook account including many birthdays that went along with it. However, now birthdays appear in my notification center everyday.
I have tried the obvious, I've unchecked the birthdays option and facebook birthdays option in the settings tab.  The birthdays no longer appear in my calendar but they still show up in my notification center which is really irritating!
help!
thank you in advance.

Turn off facebook notifications. Restart your phone, then turn facebook notifications back on and see if they are gone.

  • How do you turn off birthdays in notification center?

When I synced Facebook and my contacts, every single one of my friends birthdays were synced with my calendar. I turned off the birthday calendar in the app but they continue to spam my notification center EVERY DAY. Does anyone know how to stop this? If not could we request an update that let's us?

    unfortunatly, you can't.
In iOS 6 (or in iOS 5 for matter of fact), birthdays are pulled DIRECTLY from your contacts app and then displayed in notification center, and not through the calendar app. So doing anything from Calendar app won't do anything.
The only solution, sadly, at this point, is to disable contact integration with Facebook if you have issues. Currently, there is no proper fix for this, and I'm afraid we won't be seeing any fix for while....

  • Disable facebook birthdays in notification center ios6

How do i disable the facebook birthdays from the notification center in iOS 6. I unsynced the calendar option in facebook settings yet the birthdays still appear in the drop down. Any ideas?

Have you tried going into the calendar app > then hit the top left button saying calendars > then uncheck the Facebook birthdays and events things. I hope this helped if not then I'm not sure

  • How do I keep Notification Center from displaying birthdays?

I have unchecked the birthdays calendar in the Calendar app, and they aren't displayed on any other calendar I have attached to iCloud or my Mac, but Notification Center is polluted with birthdays. How do I nix them?
    Thanks!

Unfortunatly, it's not a bug. This is actually a feature in iOS 6 and on iOS 5.
For Birthdays, all the information is pulled DIRECTLY from contacts app and not through Calendar app. The only way to get rid of birthdays in notification center is to remove the birthday from contacts app, which you can't do for Facebook contacts.
The only solution, unfortunatly, is to disable contact integration with Facebook and Contacts app. Wish I had better solution, but I'm afraid this is going to be the way for while.

  • Duplicate Birthday calendar entries in Notification Center

I have many contacts' birthdays saved with their contact info.  This created two calendars: one "Birthdays" calendar in iCal on my Mac, and one "Birthdays" calendar in my iPhone's Calendar app.  I want to keep each of these in their respective places.
    Here's my problem:
Both show up in Notification Center.  For example, my friend Bryan's birthday is tomorrow, and it shows twice in the Notification center (once, pulled from the iOS Calendar; the other, synced from iCal).
I've disabled the imported calendar from displaying in the Calendar app (so I only see iOS's "native" entry listed on my calendar).  But it still shows both in Notification Center!  Any ideas how I can get rid of the duplicate NC entry, without deleting the calendar itself from either source?

    Bump

  • How do I get facebook birthdays displayed in my calendar to show up in the notification center?

How do I get facebook birthdays displayed in my calendar to show up in the notification center?

Thank You! The birthdays are still showing up in the drop down menue. Between the stocks and the weather widgets. Is there a fix for that???

  • How do I disable birthdays from the iOS 5 notification center?

I don't think it can be done - I hope it's not intended to work this way.

    Same here!
I'm syncing my iPhone 4 (iOS5) with Outlook. Birthdays are stored with my contacts and created in the Outlook calendar. Thus they are synced to the iPhone-calendar. But as I sync the contacts as well, my iPhone creates a birthday calender. This one can be hidden in the iOS-Calender-App, but the birthdays show up in the notification center no matter if the calender is hidden or not.
I'd be nice if you could just disable the automatic birthday calender function of iOS and get rid of the double notifications and crowded NC.

  • Facebook friends birthdays synced to notification center?

I have already synced my fb friends Bdays to my calendar but I want them to show up in the Notification Center.  I can't seem to get them to show up.  :(

When you install iOS 7 you need to sync the fb friends birthday once again but delete the old one first.
You would have done it in iOS 6 but after installing iOS7 you have to sync it one more time though it will show it in calender.

  • How to refresh notification center?

Hello guys! First time posting here but I could not find help or the answer anywhere.
I'm currently running a late 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro with 10.8.2. All software is updated and all my data is backed up. My issue is in Notification Center on the Mac (swipe over with the trackpad) I have old birthdays that came from Facebook that will not go away.
I am currently using iCloud to sync contacts and calendars and have facebook sycing turned on for contacts. I also have "show birthdays" checked in iCal. I have removed ALL accounts before and set up again and they still show up. They will disappear when I turn it off then reappear when I turn it back on. I even reomved those friends from facebook so they are not even in my contacts or iCal. Just in Notification center, and every day is show 1 day longer (ie: John Smith's Birthday 38 days ago). I feel like my notification center needs to refresh somehow.
I really don't want to do an erase and install..
Any help would be great! Thanks for your time guys.

Welcome to the community! Go ahead and try the following:
sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui KeepAlive -bool false
To undo this, simply repeat the command and replace the word "false" with "true" in the command.
Change this key value from its default of "true" to "false" and save the file to disable automatic launching of the Notification Center (click for larger view).
When this edit is done, restart the system to reload the modified launch agent file, and Notification Center will now be disabled.
Just remember to restart the computer once its disabled, enable the application, then do a second restart. Let us know if it worked.

  • Is there a way to prevent hidden calendars from appearing in Notification Center?

I have 4 calendars syncing with my iPhone -- now running iOS5.
One of those calendars is my Google Calendar, which includes birthdays of all my contacts.
However, the iOS also offers a special "Birthdays" calendar that pulls birthdays from the Contacts app.  I have that calendar hidden because it is duplicative of my Google Calendar.
Yet, despite the fact that it is hidden from showing in the Calendar app, those entries appear in the new Notifications Center.  As a result, birthdays appear twice.
While this is far, far from a big deal and certainly something I can live with, it would be nice if hidden calendars didn't appear in Notification Center.  Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing?

Well, since you have multiple calendars synced to one account, this may not work.  I was syncing one Yahoo calendar and that's the one that was giving me the duplicate entries on the notification screen.  On my iphone I went to Settings -- Mail, Contacts, Calendars -- chose my Yahoo account (which was already inactive) and turned off Reminders (which curiously has an icon next to it that looks like the iOS5 reminders app). I've noticed that not all of my email/calendar accounts have this option, though.  Very strange.

  • How to permanently get rid of Facebook in Notification Center?

    Hello,
I'm growing incredibly frustrated of the Facebook notifications in Yosemite.  I've followed all directions to turn them off.  I've dragged Facebook to the 'Not In Notification Center' area.  I've also selected 'None' in 'Facebook alert style' and unchecked 'Shot notifications on lock screen' as well as 'Show in Notification Center'.
Yet, every time I restart my computer, Facebook notifications start littering my desktop and, sure enough, all the preferences I set for it have been reset and it's back in my Notification Center.
If anyone can tell me how to simply delete Facebook from Notification Center all together, I'd be thrilled.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Let me know if it works... You can add facebook in internet acounts again later if you want it...
It might reset the settings.. And may solve the problem anyhow...
i.e. you might want birthdays on your calendar for example...
Personally I dont like facebook junk cluttered on my email. However dont mind facebook notifications for facebook chat...
I dont know if your notification center also clutters you with other rubbish... Like facebook notifications that are not private chat... Mine doesnt... I think i had set the facebook settings a while ago not to spam all the rubbish facebook sends.

  • Notification Center ignoring Calendar defaults

Small quirk, but this appears to be a bug in Notification Center.
If Calendars are set to display in the Notification Center, it appears that the Notification Center displays all calendars -- even if the default in the Calendar program itself is to only display certain limited calendars.
For example, by default, in the Calendar application, I never have the "Birthdays" calendar view set to display.  However, Notification Center appears to ignore that preference.  Birthdays appear in Notification Center, and there does not appear to be any way to suppress unwanted calendar views.
Any workarounds or just a bug that will need to await a fix?

Me too. All I see is that I have one all-day event scheduled for tomorrow.
Instead of telling me that how about telling me what the event is?

  • Unselected calenders in the notification center

    Dear Apple Community,
I'm having a problem with my unselected calenders, which appear, even unselected in the notification center.
Here is what I wrote (via iPhone feedback) to Apple:
    "Dear Apple,
since iOS 5 (I hope it would be fixed with iOS 6, it wasn't) I see my girlfriends, via iCloud shared, calenders + my Facebook Events & Birthdays in the notification center even if these calenders are unselected in my calender app.
On my MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.2) it works like it should. Unselected calenders aren't shown in my notification center. I also want this for iOS 6!
    Please fix this annoying issue."
    Any ideas for a fix?
In advance I thank you for your help!

    No ideas?

  • Notification Center: Banners keep reappearing

I´ve a strange behaviour with notification center in 10.8.3 on mid-2012 iMac: I get notification banners for calendar events and birthdays by default – which is what I want. Sometimes, the banners reappear several times a day though I click them away (without clicking on „repeat“/„snooze“). They pop up every couple of minutes. I even get alerts for yesterday´s events popping up again and again saying the event XY will take place „yesterday“.
I wasn´t able to find anything related to this behaviour while searching the internet and the Apple forums, but I hope someone will have a clue what could cause this annoying bug.
    Thanks in advance, regards, Till

Another thing you might try is if you have any 3rd party applications that are running, try disabling them or uninstalling them.
Given the random nature of this the two suggestions below may not be practical.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
You will have to set up Notifications in this account.
Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
