Bit depth of MSI MEGA Stick 511 - 512 Lite, 512MB USB2.0, voice recorder

Hi,
Does anyone know at what bit depth the above, product records at?
It's not in the specs or the manual. I haven't bought one (yet) but I downloaded the manual.
Also, has anyone recorded anything with one of these though the internal or an external mic? Does it sound ok?

MSI Mega Stick 511 Lite (without FM) 128MB won't skip songs

I just bought a MSI Mega Stick 511 Lite (without FM) 128MB. I am unable to skip to the next song when playing. I can fast forward the song but it won't let me skip to the next song. Does anyone have a similar experience or know the solution ?

I think it might be that i held the menu button too long. A quick flick to the left or right (letting go quickly) seems to make it work. P.S. The firmware upgrade to version 3 is good coz there is now a playlist option.

Please update the latest F/W (v3.0.6) and try again!!
Please do according to firmware update procedure of the following:
Mega stick firmware update process: (Don't put battery)
1. Please download and install the latest firmware and driver!!(http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/ia/ia/pro_ia_detail.php?UID=607)
2. After firmware unzipping, it will show some files, please replace driver installation files (C:\Program Files\MSI\MS-5511)
3. Please press sustained “play key” first, then plug your mega stick 511 in your PC.
4. Please go to "start" (below left corner) and enter "programs" and choose "MSI MS-5511" update now!!!
5. As you update firmware that you have to select "format data area" and after update success, you can release of your finger.
Please note: (1) Don't put battery with update firmware procedure. (2) The step 3 is very importantly, please must press sustained “play key” first, then connect to your PC.

I don't read manual and I format the MEGA STICK 511 and the data and files will be erased. Now my computer don't find the MEGA STICK 511. WHAT I CAN TO DO? PLEASE HELP ME.

MSI MEGA STICK 511 (5511) USB 2.0 FM DEAD!!! beacuse of new firmware v3

hi, i was browsing msi page and found that my player (that i had for months) had a new firmware (v3.xxx), i checked that my player was the correct one, USB2.0 & With FM, checked flashing the older firmware 2.0.xxxx and it worked perfectly just to make sure everything worked. then, i flashed the new files version 3.xxxx and now the player is dead.
i went to my work like crazy were we SELL this players and tried updating a new one and it become dead. and now im furious. i wanna now how do i recover the 2 players!
the worst thing is that if the clients flash their drives too, their players will become dead!
i need a solution for me speccialy.
its sad indeed.

Mega Stick 511 USB2 problem

The USB2 doesn’t work, I try it in 5 different computers, I update the driver’s and Firmware, it is broke??? I buy it a day ago!

4. My (slow) hard disk will read at around 30 Mbyte/s
5. A really good hard disk on a fast PC will read at around 130 MByte/s
The real problem I have is that MSI are marketing their USB2.0 device as if it's a decent speed, whereas it's only slightly faster than USB1.1. It takes me 23 minutes to fill it up, which is way too long.
Anyone else finding their Megastick any faster?
After upgrading my firmware to 3.000.006 I have got the same problem I get the 'This device can perform faster' message' but this was not the case before the firmware upgrade when I had 2.0. Also with the old firmware I did almost filled my stick and I didn't timed it but I think it could take about 10 minutes.
I have the MSI MEGA Stick 511 - Lite, 256M and it has no FM radio. Should I then not use the firmware listed as wothout FM?

Mega Stick 511 problem

I've just bought a Mega Stick 511 and right now it's making me want to do this . I'm running Windows Xp (although the manual seems to be for 98se users) and everytime I go to the device manager to look for the driver Player Recovery Device Class, it's not there although this- MSI MS-5511 USB Device- is listed under disk drives. I've downloaded the updated firmware and drivers from the MSI website and I'm following each step but this just keeps throwing me for a loop. I don't think it's a connection problem because the LCD screen on the player shows that it's connected. So if anyone out there has any clue how to fix this and then proceed to tell me how to actually load MP3 files onto it (because even that I'm sure I will stuff up), please please help me.

MEGA stick 511 (512mb)

Hi, my problem is that, i don't know or it just imposible, i can't get to divide my mp3 into differents folders, i create de folder but when navigate through the mp3 there are all mixted up , is there a way to get them separate in folders?

For MEGA stick 511 (all capacity versions) you can divide your mp3s to as many folders as you want but when you navigate through them from the MEGA Stick menu they will be all together but they are in the order that you put the folders. first the mp3s from the first folder, second the mp3s from the second folder etc.. the problem is that the mp3s are all in a row so if you want to go to the mp3s of the second folder you must one by one go to the first fong of the second folder.

MSI mega stick 128 Shut down problem

I have a problem , I have a MSI mega stick 128 and fron a litle time it has started tu Shut down or restart rondomley. At first it hapend from time to time but now it hapends 20 times a day . It is realy enoig. If yu have an ideea PLS tel me what to do . (I changed the firmware from the original to new versions but it didn't help .) Is there any hope left ?? I am desperate . When I try to install MP3 Studio off the CD that came with my megastick, it gives me an error and tells me files are missing. If I check manually, I can confirm that this is the case.

Hi, I have the same problem, I am using the MSI Mega Stick 256 4 months, everything worked fine so far. Suddenly the backlight died, and it cannot be re-enabled. Could it be just a software problem (Is there a firmware upgrade available?) or should I return the product and require replacement?
