Bit-mapped image problem

Does anyone know how I manage to make an image bit-mapped in Illustrator 6? I think it is a key-command that I press accidentally, this happens to me occasionally as I am working quite fast and I must accidentally press a key and not notice how it happens, how can I reverse it so the image is no longer bit-mapped and save me time having to redraw the image?

I feel we are so close but missing one more hint to figure this out. Do you have any 3rd party plug ins?
Update to 16.04 alteast if you have not. I have not tested 16.05, should be ok, did not even know they opposed that. Adobe - Illustrator : For Macintosh
Edit Keyboard shortcuts > choose illustrator defaults
Review all you actions and get rid of any you do not use. I got rid of all of mine and modified the delta unused items which was the only useful one adn put that in my own set of custom actions.
That should eliminate the variable of some keyboard shortcut from Illustrator doing this
Check your clipboard settings.
Make sure you are saving to .ai format and not .pdf. I would also recommed doing a save as and turn OFF pdf compatible (unless you are going to import into InDesign.
Can you explain in a little more detail your copy & paste process. Such as do you save the doc after you copy, basically exactly when did you notice the original source document got bitmapped, could this already have been saved this way? Can you repeat this, does this problem happen.
Keep that link palette open, as that should be a good hint to exactly when this happens. You really do not want any graphics with embedded icons for most print graphic situations.

hello apple guys, after installing OS X Mavericks, i can't open app store, reminders, contacts, mail(crash), maps, Image Capture, and other apps that comes with Mavericks OS, how i can solve this problem?

So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac".  I really, really miss Steve Jobs!

  • CS5 64 bit merging HDR image problem

    Hello,
I am doing a HDR image lesson (Adobe CS5 Classroom in a Book, page 139) using three .DNG files from the training CD.
If I use CS5 32 bit all (model's face and background) is ok.
If I use CS5 64 bit the image has bad background colors and a portion of the model's face is dark red.
So I a wondering if possibly the DNG was created by CS5 32 bit and cannot be opened and processed in CS5 64 bit HDR?
    Note:
Each DNG image looks good using CS5-64 File Open.
I have two jpg if needed to show.

Has anyone tried this on an installation of Adobe Photoshop CS5 or CS5.1, with an older version of Adobe Camera RAW installed?
I had this issue reported to me by a faculty member who is attempting to teach this lesson in one of our Mac Labs.  She has taught this lesson in the past without issue, but, recently reported this issue.  We recently upgraded our photography lab's equipment, which included new iMacs, and updates to software installed in the lab, including the CS5.5 Design Premium suite.  I'm able to replicate the issue on all the computers in the photo lab, with the same issue as others described above.  I then went to try to replicate the issue on my personal computer with CS5.5 installed, and, surprisingly, the HDR merge worked successfully.  The only signifigant difference on that computer was that it was running Adobe Camera RAW 6.6, rather than the current 6.7.  I then went ahead and updated the Camera RAW on that computer up to version on 6.7, and the problem doing the merge with these specific files returned as it had in the photo lab.
So perhaps this is a combination of 64bit and Camera RAW 6.7?  I can't get the 32bit workaround to work on the Mac's I'm testing.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Image problem when exporting to pdf

I have several images on top of each other on the front page of my document. Two large images on top of each other with the the top one being transparent and several small ones on top of the two large. Everything looks fine i pages, however when i export the file to pdf the two large images are gone, but the smaller ones are still there? I have done this several times and never encountered this problem. The desk top icon looks fine though?
    Hope someone can help!

Some frames are vector (drawn) and render OK in pdfs.
Others are bit maps using transparency, they have the problems mentioned above.
Experiment using a set of labeled frames on a single sheet and export that to a pdf and see what works and what doesn't.
Some features will only be good for printing to your desktop printer directly out of Pages.

  • How to create a 16-bit grayscale image from matrix of values

    Hello all,
I'm having a problem converting a series of measurements into a specific image. I have a matrix of nxm dimensions (n and m variable), which contains measurement data. My intention is to transform this matrix into an image to be analyzed later on by an external software. The trick, however, is that the image has to be in 16-bit grayscale format: in grayscale for doing the image processing, and 16 bits to make sure that resolution is not hindered.
I've been looking around the web and still haven't found a way of somehow mapping the measurement values I have in that matrix into pixels (16-bit grayscale ones, that is). I have access to the Full Development System version of LabView, but not other toolboxes.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi everyone,
I've managed to get it to work thanks to some help from people on other forums. The key is to use the IMAQ driver, which gives the VIs necessary to create images on 16-bit grayscale (only supported nicely by PNG format apparently).

  • How to get the whole map image after zoom in?

    Hi,
I use mapviewer API to generate map images and put them in JSP as well as in Java Applet. I called the method getGeneratedImage(). After I using the methods zoomIn() or zoomOut(), I got a new map image. But the size is fixed, so after zoom in I can only see a part of the whole map. I would like to use scrollbar to see other part of the map after zoom in.
How can I solve this problem? I have the images as predefinied themes saved in database with MBR information.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For the map request in MapViewer you may define the data area that you want to display, as well as the device size (width and height). The result is a java Image with width and height sizes. You can draw this image on a canvas with scroll bars, and if the size of the canvas is smaller than the image size, then you should see the scroll bars. But you have to code that. MapViewer will just return an Image with the specified size.
The zoom in/out options just change the data area, but keeps the device size. Therefore you should use the API methods to set the data area (setBox or setCenterAndSize) and to set the device size (setDeviceSize), in order to control the size of your resulted image, and then draw it on your canvas with scroll bars.
    Regards.

  • Using conversion to array to add 16 bit grayscale images

    Dear all,
Usual disclaimers, first post, tried to search using a variety of terms, no luck, so posting a new question!
I am trying to perform a running a verage of a 16 bit grayscale image. I do not have access to the Vision development module.  My 'workaround' is to grab the image, convert to array and then, using a shift register, to add this array to that acquired at the previous loop iteration. The problem I am having is that the shift register, despite being fed data in a 16 bit unsigned word formatt, returns 8 bit data. The add function is then trying to add 16 bit to 8 bit data and returns an empty array.
Can anyone help? Surely it must be possible to use shift registers with arrays of 16 bit data?
    Any help appreciated!

Shift registers work with all datatypes. Can you show us your code?

  • Image problems when importing modified Iphoto pictures to aperture 3

I seem to have a bit of strange problem with modified pictures after they are imported in A3.
I am using Iphoto 8.1.1 and have just bought Aperture 3. I decided to import all my iphoto pictures using the import iphoto library function.
I noticed that all images that had (in iphoto) been edited using the retouch function to reduce blemishes have problems in Aperture. The problem appears to be where the brush was used is now pixilated in that area and it just looks like a cluster of "noise". This only seems to happen when I used the import iphoto library. I tried to replicate the issue importing some of the same pictures individually and there was no issue. Than I made a new library tried to import iphoto library and same issue ones again. Exporting the picture out of aperture keeps this error. It's quite a worry as I have several hundred of these pictures and I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions?
Please have a look at the links below for an example of before and after import.
    http://files.me.com/dan_801/rlebic (the original file)
    http://files.me.com/dan_801/s0zn6d (after importing into A3)

ok quick update - I opened up the aperture library in finder and located the image. The master appears to be the correct image but in Aperture itself it's showing a different image. The picture in Aperture appears to be pointing to the preview directory within the library structure. I tried re building the review and thumb and same issue again. When I export from aperture it also seems to export the preview version as oppose to the master. How do i fix this issue

  • IMac boots to bit-mapped rows of diaganol lines across screen & then freeze

Im not sure where to post this. Unsure if it's a start-up or a display problem - or both ...
A friend of mine was trying to install boot camp on her 17" Early 2006 but the installation failed half-way through ...
Now, when the machine is switched back on - serious square or bit-mapped looking rows of diagonal lines appear from top to bottom on the screen at 30mm gaps ... it boots up OK to the grey Apple Screen with the spinning cog below - then the lines disappear and the blue start-up screen - looks like it's about to show the 'Starting Mac OS X' window - but then stops - and the cursor changes to a weird rectangular mess - and nothing else happens ... the cursor still moves - so I know the system is not completely frozen - it just won't boot past the blue screen ...
The only way I can get it to boot to the desktop is in Safe Mode (shift key at start-up) - but it boots all the way with the diagonal lines.
Here's what I have tried so far ...
    * - reset pram
    * - targeted it to another intel mac and used Disk Utility to zero the hard disk to a single Mac OS Extended (journaled) partition (erasing the previous XP portion created by the botched Boot Camp assistant).
    * - a clean install of Mac OS X.4.6 via a 'C' boot.
    * - restarted into safe mode holding the 'shift' key to get to the desktop.
    * - run software update to see if there were any new EFI or Firmware updates.
    all to no avail ...
I have also scanned the Apple downloads pages and here in the discussions.
And also the Boot Camp discussions - I can find only one other post with a similar issue - but there is no 'fix' or solution posted ...
My hunch is the firmware has been affected by the boot camp installer - or something to do with the EFI parameters on the video board.
I have tried everything Apple suggests - including an attempt to reinstall the firmware via a hard press of the power button and inserting a special install firmware install CD from Apple downloads - but I can't get the firmware bar to load at start up ...
If I try reinstalling the latest firmware update - I get a message saying "Your Firmware is up to date' - or 'This update is not needed on this machine' ...
Q: Is there a stand-alone installer that will reinstall the firmware - without doing a version check - and just do a fresh firmware install ... ?
Does anyone know a way around the version check.
I am convinced this issue is a software/firmware related problem - I sense the EFI settings have screwed up the video settings on the board - and I all i want to do is refresh them.
It's still under it's initial 1 year warranty - but I'm not sure a botched Boot Camp install is covered ...
Sorry for the long post - but I'm hoping a nice apple guru can help me out with this 'very hairy' problem ..
    ... macfinger - auckland city
    17" intel imac early 2006 1.8GHZ 512RM

OK - here's the result of the rows of diagonal lines across the screen on the 17" Intel Core Duo iMac, which I posted last week ...
The logic board was definitely faulty - it could not be repaired by firmware or otherwise ... the service centre was very vague about which area or part of the board failed - but I suspect it was the embedded video board or VRAM ...
(actually - I still reckon it was a botched firmware - but seeing as Apple's 'Open Firmware' is nor strictly 'Closed Firmware' .... there was no way of actually testing that theory for sure ...
From what my friend has told me - she said this fault was the result of a botched Boot Camp XP installation when loading the Windows drivers from the Mac generated Drivers Install CD which froze - and then trying to boot back into Mac OS X by doing a hard restart, after it failed ...
A message to any future readers of this post:
If your machine shows signs of of the above symptoms - you'll have to return it to an Authorised Apple Service Centre to have the logic board replaced (hopefully under warranty) ...
BE SURE AND BACK UP ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL USER DATA FIRST - AS THERE WILL BE NO GUARANTEE YOUR USER FOLDER WILL BE RETAINED WHEN YOU GET YOUR MACHINE BACK ...
You can still access your HD by doing a safe boot: hold the 'Apple' & 'S' keys immediately after you hear the start-up 'chimes' ....
Once you're back to your desktop - use your machines internal CD-RW/DVD to copy your files to disk ... it's a bit tricky with all the lines across the screen - but persevere - 'cause that's what we did - and we know it can be done.
    Good luck ...

  • Display/save 8 bit grayscale image

I have a VI that is capturing an 8 bit grayscale image (1D array of 1500 pixels). It has a 10 byte header that I strip off and try to display it.  The problem is that the displayed picture is interpeted as an RGB.  Also, the saved image can be opened using a picture viewer but is not correct.  It is missing the pixel data. How do I get this to display as an 8 bit grayscale image.  I would also like to duplicate the 1 row of image data to about 50 rows so that it is easier to view.  using a for loop and indexing the row only leaves the pxmao empty.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Bjoles,
You are missing a colour table input to your flatten pixmap block. See the vi snippet I have attached. Also, I have found that building arrays from a for loop is a quick way of doing it, Labview seems to preallocate the memory correctly.

  • Indicating a coordinate set on a map image?

I need to implement an algorithm (using MDIP API's) that fetches a map image from a remote server and displays it on the screen (No problems here). i then need to indicating the user's current position (according to the current cooridnates) on the map image.Does anybody has an idea how one would implement this? Thanks in advance.

    hi there,
i hope u r putting the image on the screen using the canvas class..then it will make things easier.
u should be able to use the fillRect() method to just draw a box to indicate the current position....
by using timer..u should be able to make it blink to make it even more pleasant to look at....
    hope this helps...

  • 16 Bit Tiff Images Display Bug?

    Question 1:
Is there a problem with Aperture 2.0 displaying 100 + mb 16 bit tiff images generated by a film scanner (nikon coolscan 4000 ed)? I am having trouble with my library that I migrated from Aperture 1.5. All of my images were working fine in Aperture 1.5 (and previously in iPhoto as far back as 2003). In Aperture 2.0 I am getting scrambled images and some images that read unsupported file format. The problem is sporadic. It effects some images and not others. Sometime images display correctly and sometime they become scrambled and unsupported, and then back again.
There is no trouble with the images themselves. I export them to CS3 with no distortion or trouble. The problem seems to be in Aperture 2.0.
I have re-built the library, tried migrating images, changed the color profile.... I think I have exhausted every trick I can manage from a user vantage point. The images work fine when converted to 8 bit files. This is not the solution for me - I need to keep these images 16 bit.
Question: Is this this just my version (I purchased downloaded upgrade), that is having trouble, or is this a wider problem that Apple aware of and is looking into?
Please advise. I have 1000's of scanned pictures that I have been working with for years that were fine and now are not. I purchased a new Mac Pro 2.8 so as to work more productively with these large images - and now it seems that the very software I rely on has failed me.
I have not been able to find any comments from Apple regarding this issue.

I've had this problem with images saved as 8-bit scans.
Are you using any compression in the TIFs? I scanned using Nikon Scan 4, cleaned up a bit in Photoshop 7, reduced the bit depth to 8-bit, and saved at TIFs with embedded colour profile using ZIP compression, Macintosh byte order.
This used to work with Aperture 1.5.6, but with Aperture 2.0 I see a kind of offset pattern, so a vertical line looks like this:
If export the master TIF, open it in Photoshop (where it looks normal) and save it with no compression Aperture displays it properly.
(I'm still using Tiger, so I don't think this is an OS issue.)

  • Why do 16 bit greyscale images look significantly worse than 32 bit?

    Howdy,
I am trying to display a greyscale image from a camera. Parts of the program are written by someone else, and the image comes in as a U16 array. I am using IMAQ create and IMAQ arraytoimage. The image displays perfectly if I use the 'float' inputs on the above to sub vi's, but if I use 16 bit or 8 bit, the image quality is terrible. I would like to be able to display the image as 16bit.
If I save the 16 bit image, and reopen it with another program, it's still just as bad. I have also tried converting the array to I16, and U8, but it makes no difference to the image quality.
From what I understand, there should be very little visible difference between 8, 16 and 32 bit greyscale images. Does anyone have any ideas where the problem might be? my next guess is the camera settings, but I'd love it to be something in my code..
    Cheers,
    Andy

    Andy,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  The key thing to note is that the image data type that LabVIEW uses is a signed interpretation so you need to do some more conversion to get an Unsigned 16-bit array to display properly as an NI-IMAQ image.  Refer to the Knowledge Base: 16-bit Images in NI-Vision for more information on how to do this.  Thanks and have a great day.

  • Map Image URL showing up ?refresh=3022972........

    Hey guys.
Am trying to access my jsp files using mapviewer over the internet. i'm using a dial-up modem from tech to provide a public ip. and want to access it at home using a mobile simulator. it gets to the page but it won't display the map because when it calls
    mvclient.getGenerateMapImageURL();
it returns the location of the image followed by ?refresh=3022972......
    such as http://hostname:portnumberforapplicationserver/mapviewer/images/omsmap10_30.png?refresh=3022972................
i can access the image by typing the url without the "refresh" part.
any suggestions as to how i can take it out of the url or why it shows up or what can be done?..
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

actually am sorry it wasn't the refresh part that was creating the problem.
if i type in the url for the map image in the web browser it works fine, but it i type the url in a mobile simulator such as nokia mobile simulator or even an actual mobile device it does not show up and comes up with an error. why is that? i've enabled images to be shown and set up the proxy and everything properly. the rest of the GUI works fine, just the map image won't show up!! please help...

  • 64-bit Boot Image Drivers Are Not Working

I've been deploying Windows 7 x86 and x64 for years. I've been using the same 32-bit boot image for both and it's been working great.
We've decided to take the plunge and go all x64 moving forward.  I want to switch to a 64-bit boot image so I don't have to curate the drivers for two architectures.
I've created a 64-bit boot image, and included all of the 64-bit versions of the drivers in my 32-bit boot image, but they don't seem to be working.  I've tried booting 3 different models, but I receive "Failed to find a valid network adapter."
I've looked within the boot image, because I wanted to see the driver files.  Either I just don't know where I'm looking, or they're in the "Files" folder where each file is renamed to a number.
What might I have done wrong?

I've solved my problem by downloading and importing the Dell WinPE driver pack.  Now I've just got to add the USB 3.0 drivers (I support laptops that don't have optical drives), and I'll be set.
