    I have tried to open downloaded reports in Open Office and have no success with it. If I choose "Download to Excel" Open Office can not recognize generated report - there is something like

  • Associating .doc files with open office

    I have open office installed on my iMac. When I open an MS Word document using the basic File--->Open it opens it with no problem.
    However, when I click on it I get an error dialog that says the "script could not be run because.
    -43"
    How can I associate documents with open office?
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    What version of OO are you using? Are you using some sort of OO launching script? Do you have the current version of X11 installed?
    I don't use OO rather I use NeoOffice Aqua because it doesn't require the use of X11.

    Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
    Back up all data.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
    from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
    Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
    Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

    Is it possible to export BO XI report to Open Office format ?
    (not Microsoft Office, but Open Office)

    Not directly. Download the trial version and test all formats.
    Go to this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc and download the trial version of CR XI R2 and use your XI keycode, then apply the patches which you can get to by clicking on the BusinessObjects tab above, then Downloads.

  • I recently upgraded to Lion, and immediately started having consistent problems with Open Office 12 (would hang, and need a Force quit to recover). Has anybody else seen these problems? Any solutions other than going back to Snow Leopard? (I did).

    I recently upgraded to Lion, and immediately started having consistent problems with Open Office 12 (would hang, and need a Force quit to recover). Has anybody else seen these problems? Any solutions other than going back to Snow Leopard? (I did). But I'd like to use iCloud with iPad.

    Hi Pete. The repair of disk permissions can help resolve  any application crashing or misbehaving.
    As for Lion and the two camps, I think that is a reasonable observation. In my office we have about a dozen Mac's and about one third of those Mac's had problems after updating from 10.6 to 10.7. The main problem for these Mac's was a loss of wifi stability. But for the other two-thirds, Lion was a smooth transition.
    Personally, my Lion experience was fine. But I did get a new i7 MacBook Pro with Lion already installed and only had to migrate my user data from a 10.6.8 TM backup.
    So I think that is a key for Lion's operational success. A clean install of Lion on a new Mac would not cause too many operational issues. But an installation, or more correctly, an update to Lion from SL increased the chances of failure for some users - especially when old software & plugins resided on the Mac. And I would say that they were the people that you saw at the Apple store.
    As for the "latest release of Lion fixed my problems" statement, my experience with these and other forums is that people mostly only go there to complain about the problems they are having. If they are having no problems then they either keep it to themselves or they try to help the users who are experiencing trouble...

  • Template Builder (XML Publisher Report) for Open Office

    Hi,
    Do any body has any idea, if can have template builder for Open Office also, My company has un installed MS Office from my machine, and they dont have license now.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nidhi Gupta

    Hi All,
    I think Oracle can provide a BI Publisher Software for the Open Office, since the licencing cost for MS Office is very high.
    "OpenOffice Writer" is a open source alternative to MS Word and can be used on Linux. If I am using Linux OS and have to work on BI Publisher templates then certainly I will have to install Windows or use WINE ( I donno how it works but heard of it)
    Other Oracle tools such as SQL Developer, etc are platform independent.. then why only BI Publisher is limited for windows/MS Office.
    Tim,
    Can you please answer..
    I think it should integrate with OpenOffice too!!

  • Will ole2.create_object work with Open Office Document?

    Dear All,
    Using ole2 package, we have already did a small application which will interact to Microsoft Excel. Now there is a business need to work with Sun's Open office document.
    We used to create a excel object like OLE2.CREATE_OBJ ('Excel.Application');
    Is there any other way of invoking/creating a open office spread sheet using ole2 package. Or any other way ?
    Regards,
    Balaji

    Dear Developer;
    Try this peace of code
    PROCEDURE exec_macro
    IS
    myapplication ole2.obj_type;
    mydocuments ole2.obj_type;
    mydocument ole2.obj_type;
    args ole2.list_type;
    Begin
    myapplication := ole2.create_obj ('Word.Application');
    ole2.set_property (myapplication, 'Visible', 0);
    mydocuments := ole2.get_obj_property (myapplication, 'Documents');
    args := ole2.create_arglist;
    ole2.add_arg (args, PC$FileName);
    mydocument := ole2.invoke_obj (mydocuments, 'Open', args);
    oe2.destroy_arglist (args);
    args := ole2.create_arglist;
    -- invoke the PrintPdf MSWorld macro
    ole2.add_arg (args, 'PrintPdf');
    ole2.invoke (myapplication, 'Run', args);
    ole2.destroy_arglist (args);
    ole2.invoke(myapplication,'Quit');
    ole2.Release_obj (mydocument);
    ole2.Release_obj (mydocuments);
    ole2.Release_obj (myapplication);

    Hi Tony,
    Welcome to the forum.
    I haven't downloaded or installed it but, if my memory is still good and they haven't changed the menubar items from version 1.1, once you got the application fired up, from the menubar select File->New and then select the application you want from the New submenu; spreadheet, draw etc etc.

  • HELP WITH OPEN OFFICE

    I recently downloaded open office. I followed all instructions (I am relatively computer illiterate and new to mac) and it works fine on its own. The problem is it will not allow me to copy something from the internet and paste it to a document. I'm sure there is a simple solution but I am at a loss. Any help is appreciated

    I used to use OOo and used the X11 front end. I now use NeoOffice which is OO with a Mac front end. Works great and you can paste internet text and graphics into a document. I would think that OO did the same thing.
    Do you high lite the text or graphic and right click on it and choose the copy option?
    Do you then go to your doc and and right click on it and choose paste?

  • Safari with Open Office

    My PowerBook came with a pre-expired copy of MS Office so when I click on a Word file it launches Office but will not display the file. So I removed MS Office and installed Open Office 2.0 RC3. This is a pleasure to use, but Safari doesn't seem to know it's there and does not automatically open documents in Open Office. I click on the link and it downloads the file, then with download manager I can click on the file to open it and Open Office launches and displays the file.
    Is there anything I can do to get the automatic launching that MS Office has or is it something missing in Open Office?

    PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    OpenOffice is listed on VersionTracker as is NeoOffice which is an OS X native port of OpenOffice.
