BIzTalk 2013 R2 Management Pack

Hi
Does anyone know when the BizTalk 2013 R2 Management pack is going to be released?
The current 2013 MP fails to discover BizTalk as it's looking for the following:
<Expression>
<SimpleExpression>
<ValueExpression>
<XPathQuery Type="String">Values/BizTalkServerProductVersion</XPathQuery>
</ValueExpression>
<Operator>Equal</Operator>
<ValueExpression>
<Value Type="String">3.10.229.0</Value>
</ValueExpression>
</SimpleExpression>
</Expression>
But since the current version is 3.11.158.0 it fails to be discovered. It's supposed to be within 90 days of release isn't it?
thanks, Sid

  • Exchange Server 2013 Management Pack in SCOM 2012, can not update healthset status automatically

    Hi, all
I have Exchange Server 2013 and SCOM 2012 installed. I have imported Exchange Server 2013 Management Pack to SCOM 2012. Now I have a question that when there is a service not healthy, I can find the red alert in my alert view with the Exchange 2013 server,
but after the service is healthy automatically, the red alert is still there. I can only make it become green healthy status after reseting the healthset status in the healthset explorer.
Does anyone know how to make the server become green healthy status automatically after the monitor is healthy?
    Thank you.
    Nile

    Hi,
How many Exchange Servers do you have? Does this issue only occur on one Exchange Server?
Please check the application log on the problematic Exchange server and see whether there are any related event error.

  • Exchange Server 2013 Management Pack - not reporting Operations Manager 2012

    Hi,
We've installed the Exchange 2013 Management Pack into SCOM2012 but nothing seems to be reporting back. There nothing in Organization Status or Server Health.
The Agent is installed on the Exchange Server. There are Event ID's on the Exchange server of 20070; 21006 & 21016
The server itself is showing as Healthy under Agent Managed.
Is there any other configuration that needs to be done on either SCOM or the Exchange Server?
    Thanks
    Stephen

    Hi Stephen,
Have you figured out how to get the management pack working on your environment?
While I was doing some maintenance on exchange, I've restarted the server and then restarted SCOM monitoring agent service and it worked.
I know that this isn't a fix but it's how to got it working...
    Hope this help

  • How to manage your environments, going from Development (DEV) to Production (PRD) with Management Packs.

I am looking for a way to go from the development (DEV) environment to the production (PRD) environment in a controlled manner.
As I do not want to manually click around with a walk-through screen-shots document = error prone.
    As I read these articles
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh519659.aspx
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/antoni/archive/2013/10/09/system-center-service-manager-operations-manager-management-pack-and-naming-convention-best-practices.aspx

    http://www.netiviaconsulting.com/2012/05/10/staying-organized-with-scsm-beware-of-the-management-pack-jungle/
    I still have some questions:
    1. Can all MPs (un-sealed) be exported from DEV and imported to PRD without breaking things?
    2. Are there any known pitfalls?
    3. Do you have some tips on this matter? In other words, how do you manage this?
    Regards,
    Erik

Alex is spot-on. Most MPs are environment/management group independent.
But some MPs contain what I call "Environment Specific Variables". In my experience, ESVs are in:
    1) Templates (such as the runbook guids)
    2) Criteria blocks (like view criteria, and rule criteria)
    3) Parameters (such as write action parameters, and console task parameters)
Alex already gave an example of a template ESV.
An example of a Criteria ESV might be some view that you developed that returns objects that have a specific set of values in your dev environment, but may be different for your prod environment. ie: You have a view whose criteria looks afor a specific business
service ServiceId property. Let's say "Business Service X". But "Business Service X" has a different ServiceId in your dev environment than in your prod environment. So, every time you import your view MP from dev to prod, you have to remember to change your
    criteria.
A quick Parameter ESV example; you have a notification subscription (a rule+writeaction). In Dev, you've hardcoded the notification recipient to be yourself. In Prod, the recipient has to be your boss. So, every time you import your MP from Dev to Prod,
you have to remember to change the recipient parameter in the subscription's writeaction.
Like Alex said, handling ESVs by hand is error-prone and time consuming.
Alex, when you write that utility, you should make it more robust. Within an MP, allow a user to pick and configure
any ESV. Store that configuration. Then, just run the MP through the utility and have it automatically set all the configured ESVs to the appropriate environment specific value :) (It's been something I've wanted to write into TFS for
a while, but I never take the time to do it ;) ) If an ESV is missing (because it was removed or changed in such a way that it no longer resembles the configured ESV), throw a warning during conversion.

  • BizTalk 2013 SFTP Adapter : Host Instance configured for SFTP Receive cause high CPU usage

    Hi,
Our BizTalk 2013 Server test env have 16 GB RAM.  We have one SFTP Receive Location which is using a dedicated Host instance for SFTP receive.
As soon as we start this SFTP Host Instance it starts consuming 50-60% CPU. (Even when it is not handling any file receive)
As suggested in below thread, to fix this issue, we changed the SFTP RL default configuration. i.e. Changed polling interval from default 0 sec to
10 minutes and also changed the RL Schedule window to business hours only.
    https://connectedpawns.wordpress.com/2014/04/13/biztalk-2013-sftp-adapter-biztalk-host-receiving-throttled-because-processmemory-exceeded-the-configured-throttling-limit/#comment-2602
Even after changing the RL configuration , the Host Instance continuously consumes ~60% CPU.
Any suggestions to troubleshoot more on this issue ?
    Thanks in advance !!
    Anoop

This is one of the issue which has already been raised to Microsoft and hopefully a public build will be available soon  in next cumulative update pack .
There are variety of reason for this starting for password mismatch or password not given , SFTP adapter unable to connect and so on .
There is good post here in below link for this issue
    http://thoughtsofmarcus.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/leaving-password-blank-in-biztalk-2013.html
Another greate artcicle is by Nino which states these issues .SFTP adapter is  protocol  sensitive and some configuration by server side, can cause a lot of crazy situations

  • Operations Manager 2012 Management Pack Catalog Web Service - Missing Management Packs

I am using SCOM 2012 R2 with UR5 and I see things like Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013 in the catalog when doing an MP import, but some other items like: SQL Server 2012/2014 and SharePoint 2013 are missing. I can download them from the MS download site,
but is this catalog web service being maintained?

Hi Darren, I know what you mean. It would be nice to be able to pull the latest management packs as well as management packs available from the download site from the catalog via the Operations Console, however, the packs in the catalog are not comprehensive.
I highly recommend the SCOM management pack wiki which is kept up to date by the community. I use this myself :) An added benefit to using this wiki over the catalog is that this links to the download page for the management pack of interest from where you
can obtain the management pack and its documentation which often contains useful detail on what the management pack entails. The wiki link is below:

  • WCF-Custom Biztalk 2013 - Access to SQL Server 2014 Database

    Hi,
i don't see nowhere of capability from the Biztalk adapter to access differente version of Sql server.
    I want to send ou receive information with a WCF-Custom from SQL Server 2014, i'm in Biztalk 2013 (not R2 ) it's possible ?
Do you have a link or a list of version autorized to accessed by the wcf-custom Sql binging ?
    Thanks a lot

Hi, I can suppose that the main problem for Joao is not if it works in general or not.
The real problem is that he is not sure if this configuration is officially supported by Microsoft.
If you are developing an integration project for a client you need to have this guarantee. If not, you can have an unsupported scenario, and if something fails you could have a big problem with your client.
If I were you, I would talk with the client account manager about this.
    Regards.

  • Citrix NetScaler Management Pack Account

    Hello,
I read the documentation and noticed this:
The Citrix NetScaler Management Pack requires log on credentials of the NetScaler systems it is managing to be able to take corrective actions when the virtual servers become unhealthy.
I created the account in SCOM 2007, and associated it with the Profiles Citrix NetScaler PRO Authentication Account.
    1. What are the permissions needed in Active Directory for this account? Domain Users is enough or it needs specific privilege(s)?
    2. What are the permissions needed on the NetScaler Server needed? Local Administrators? Users? In the Application?
    Thanks,
    DOm
System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 / Forefront Client Security / Forefront Identity Manager

Permissions needed in Active Directory for this account is domain user. permissions needed on the NetScaler Server is local administrator for this application to can monitor it.
for configure monitoring Netscaler, you can refer below link

  • BizTalk 2013 - BAMAlerts service crash

    Hi,
I am deploying BizTalk into a new clean Production environment. My topology is the following:
    - 2 SQL Server machines (clustered)
    - 2 BizTalk application servers (with BTS runtime)
    - 1 BAM server
I have everything deployed and working well except for the BAMAlerts service crashing a minute after it starts on the BAM server.
The software installed on the BAM server is:
    Windows 2008 R2 x64
SQL Server 2012 SP1 x64 with the  following features:
    Reporting Services (Native)
    SQL Server Data Tools
    Client Tools Connectivity
    Integration Services
    Management Tools – Basic
    Management Tools – Complete
    SQL Server 2012 SP1 Cumulative Update 9
BizTalk Server 2013 x64 with the following features:
    Portal Components
    Business Activity Monitoring
    Administrative Tools and Monitoring
    Additional Software
    Enterprise Single Sign-On Administration Module
Enterprise Single Sign-On Master Secret Server
BAM Alert Provider for SQL Notification Services
    BAM Client
    BAM-Eventing
    Office Excel 2013 (x86)
Once the BizTalk binaries are installed I installed Windows Update suggested patches including  the update for BizTalk Server 2013 (KB2830546).
I then went on and configured the relevant features. Configuration worked well but the BAMAlerts service crashes 1 minute after starting with the following error:
Microsoft.BizTalk.Bam.Management.BamManagerException: Encountered error while executing command on SQL Server "". ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection
to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
    I verified the following:
A database mail profile was created on the SQL Server instance and it works (I can use it to send emails)
Using the BAMAlerts service account I am able to connect to the SQL Server instance using Named Pipes or TCP/IP, call BizTalkMgmtDb.dbo.adm_Group_GetBAMServerAndDBName or query tables
I installed SQL Server 2005 Notification Services x64 in order to see if it helps but no success.
I installed BizTalk 2013 Cumulative Update 2 but it did no help either.
The worse part is that I hit the same issue when setting up our UAT environment, tried a number of things and ended up with a setup that works but I am not able to reproduce that success in Prod...
Following is the full error message:

  • Management Pack Templates - Unix/Linux Service template error

    Hello,
When I try to run this template I get the following error.
The Page [Microsoft.SystemCenter.CrossPlatform.UI.Authoring.ServiceTemplate.ServiceStateProbePage] in the assembly [Microsoft.SystemCenter.CrossPlatform.UI.Authoring] could not be loaded.  Please make sure that hte account you are running under has

I tried this from my Computer and the Management server with the same result.   My account is in the Ops Admin role and I have no issues creating any of the other templates.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Walter

Just I case anyone else runs across this.
The Online Catalogue UNIX/Linux MPs are only for SCOM 2007 R2. With SCOM 2012 and above we went with Management Pack Bundles [MPBs] and the Online Catalogue does not support them. To get the latest MPs and agents for UNIX/Linux on SCOM 2012 you need to go
to the Microsoft Download Center and search for "System Center 2012 Monitoring Pack for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems". The current release is UR2 which can be found here -->
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29696
    This release includes the following:
    4/9/2013 - Update release - version 7.4.4119.0 - includes agents with version: 1.4.1-270
The Microsoft.Unix.Service.Library.mp is installed by default with SP1 and we don't expect it to be uninstalled. The Update Releases [UR] only contain MP/Bs that have changed so Rob is correct in that the only place you will find this MP is with the SCOM
    2012 SP1 RTM release.

  • Deployement in biztalk 2013

    Hi all,
I am migrating biztalk server 2010 to 2013.
Using visual studio conversion wizard i have converted all applications into 2012.
Can any one please help me out how to deploy the application in biztalk 2013 as i am new to it.
and what would be the best approach.please suggest in steps
    Thanks
    biztalk007

Now you got the source code migrated to Visual Studio 2012. Deployment of the BizTalk application hasn’t changed much from BizTalk 2006 onwards. Since BizTalk Server
2006 the product formalizes the notion of a BizTalk Application that allows working with these artifacts as a single unit. A BizTalk application wraps all of the pieces required for a solution into a single logical unit, making it the fundamental abstraction
    for management and deployment.
Read the following article on BizTalk application deployment and best practices:
    Deploy
BizTalk Applications using MSI files – Concept and Best practices
Also read this TechNet-Wiki’s excellent article on this topic:
    Recommendations
for Installing, Sizing, Deploying, and Maintaining a BizTalk Server Solution
Also when you’re considering the best practices for deploying the BizTalk applications in BizTalk 2013, consider about the automating the deployment. There are various
tools available to achieve the deployment automation, but my favourite is Deployment Framework for BizTalk (BTDF). With the latest version supporting BizTalk 2013, it’s a great tool in your arsenal.
