Blacberry Curve 8520 Wifi Problems

Hi! I have a Bb Curve 8520, I bought it from a carrier so, it is locked. Then, i unlocked it. When I am connecting it to wifi, it says no connection. I have to do is, I need to turn on my Data Connection to  have internet connection. That is crazy. please help me! Thanks.

  • Blackberry curve 8520 wifi problem

    Hi, I just got a Blackberry curve 8520 with T-mobile. I dont have the data plan iI think, since I thought I have wifi at home.
    I connected the wifi but just the phone cant get access to internet, my computer can, also my other phone. So I went to the Options, Browsers, to change the setting, yet it only has 2 options: web2go (which cost money), and hotspot browswer (Which i don't think I have in my area). Helps, please.
    Do I have to pay to have web access? Even if I have wifi at home?

    Yes the 8520 is WiFi capable with UMA.  Without a data plan you will need to set the browse up for Hotspots.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 WiFi problems

    I am experiencing problems with my wifi connections. I am currently unable to connection to my internet hub. Why is thisas i have tried numerous different ways to resolve the problem, like attempting to restart the connection, reset my device, restarted my mobile connections, ect. to no good. Is there anything that i can do to resolve this problem. I would greatly appreciate if this is resolved as quickly as possible.

  • BlackBerry curve 8520 connection problem

    hi guys , i have BlackBerry Curve 8520 , and i used data plan for BB for 1 day and then it ends cuz i don't have money in my carrier balance , all this is okay . But which isn't okay is that after it ended , i still can use Hotspot browser on WiFi and browse the internet but  i can't use chatting apps like Whatsapp , Zello and Viber and also BlackBerry appworld doesn't want to open,  it tells me " We cannot connect you to BlackBerry AppWorld . Please ensure that your deviceis connected to the wireless network and try again " . But which drive me crazy that when i reboot the device it works good for sometime and then this happens , Plz guys help me . and an important information , this problem is happening with my brother too he has the same device . Thx guys

    To better assist you can you provide some more details like which version of desktop software you are using ,and which version of windows you have ,and have your tried updating your windows.

    Or simply download the latest BlackBerry Desktop Software on another PC and have a try.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 - Internet problem connecting

    Hello, I have bought my daughter a pink bb curve 8520 for christmas. She is on the Tesco (O2 Network), phone was unlocked when purchased. I have been into Teso today to try and resolve intertnet connection issue.  Advised to load Desktop Manager disc which I have done and also installed  Opera Mini 5.1 - this I have and installed on the phone, but still no connection. I have Wi- Fi setup on the phone, this is working ok, but still no connection to the Internet.
    Could you advise how to progress? When clicking browser either get blanck white screen or " contact your service provider"  - note  Mobile Network, show that "Data Services" is set to "On" and have all the Tesco setting set up as well.
    This is very frustrating so anyone who could provide any assistance would be much appreciated.
    I have seen the word Edge in the right hand corner of the screen, not sure what this represents ?

    BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) is a proprietary service required for data connections on a Blackberry device. Without this you'll experience many issues with features that most people buy the BB for.
    Such as:
    Can't set up a personal email.
    Web Browsing will not work.
    Applications that require a data connection will not function. (Social Networking for example)
    and Blackberry Messenger does not work.
    I would check with your service provider to ensure that the service is provisioned on your plan.
    Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 MMS problem

    Hello!
    Is anyone out there having this problem with a Blackberry Curve 8520?
    My carrier is T-Mobile
    Unlimited TEXT MESSAGING and MMS.
    We upgraded to 2 Blackberry curve 8520 and had old MOTOROLA RAZR phone before.
    With the Motorola and UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGING with MMS, we were able to send pictures to other people via MMS. After upgrading to the Blackberry Curve 8520, we can no longer send pictures via MMS. When sending a picture via MMS, it sits there with the CLOCK and gets an X after a while. I even called T-Mobile and Blackberry and they have opened up a ticket. We were able to send pictures with the Motorola phones without a DATA PLAN and just with the UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGING and MMS. There's gotta be others out there with this problem. I don't believe it that Blackberry opened up a ticket and don't have a fix for it.

  • Curve 8520 browser problems - please help!

    I've had my Curve 8520 for three weeks and it was working like a dream. However, yesterday evening, the browser application suddenly stopped working. I know it's not an issue with my wi-fi, as my laptop is still working fine. When I try to load the browser and visit a website, it flashes up "requesting..." as normal, and then goes to "loading" with a white screen, but refuses to load the web page. What's wrong with it? I've tried changing options in the browser configuration, but nothing works. Please help me!

    With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • Curve 8520 signal problem please help?

    I am from South Africa. I bought a bb 8520 curve December it worked fine until a month ago. When I sends bum it is slow and shows me a watch and then on my home screen it says searching for signal for a long time than shows sos. Then I get signal and loose it again. I am at Cell C service provider.I thought it was my service provider so I change it with my Husbands Service Provider Vodacom but I does the same.Please help any one. Thank you

  • Blackberry Curve-8520 Wifi not working.

    i have been trying to get my wifi working with my blackberry for a few hours now.I have enetered all my wireless router information and when it tries to connect it, it cant. the wifi symbol isnt lit-up in the top ight hand corner but beside my carrier name (rogers) it says my router name. when I press the blackberry button, go to manage connections it says Wifi with my router name but the button beside that isnt checked there is just "-" through it.
    the only reason it says is cant connect to network.
    any help would be greatly appretiated.

    I have already done that but I am still not able to connect to he internet. 
    I also tried changing the security setting of my wifi router to WEP which is definitely supported by this handset. but the problem still persists. Any other suggestion?

    these are the problem i encounter with y blackberry
    i can not forward the media files being played...
    i can not receive mms (my carrier - airtel haryana )
    there is a glitch in the sms applet as sometimes, when i am deleting a conversaition, the mobile fone hangs and i can not re-open that conversation again.
    upon restart, the mobile shows "uncaught exception index 8>=8'
    NOW. to resolve this, i go to a BB technical solutions centre. there i enquire them what all will they do to this. the tech support person tells me that he will use the deskktop software manager to update my mobile phone. he switches on his laptop and connects my mobile to his laptop and his screen shows a number of updates for my mobile. he is charging me 500 rupees for that. i tell him not to update my mobile phone and i bring it back to my own laptop and repeat the same process again on my own laptop, my laptop says that there is no update available... now my question is that is this a joke? i mean why does d tech. support guy's laptop show him updates while my laptop does not. why do i have to pay him 500 bucks when i can update my mobile phone at home?

  • BB Curve 8520 Wifi Unable to connect

    I already set up my wifi network yesterday and i was able to browse but it stopped working just this morning.  It prompted that the available wifi network is available but each time I am attempting to connect  it says: Unable to connect. Reason Failure to connect to the network. Please help!:

  • Curve 8520 loading problems

    HI, I connected my phone to my laptop about 2 weeks ago to transfer some pictures from my device. Since then it has been running really slowly. Everytime I try and access the menu, use an app, send email/bbm or take pictures/video I get the little loading clock and it takes between 5 - 15 minutes to load anything. I know I disconnected it from my computer in the proper way too.
    I have tons of memory free, have cleaned the phone and done a soft reset (like it tells you to do in the manual). 
    the phone is only 8 months old and hasn't been damaged in any way so I don't know whats happened.
    Can anyone give me some advice

    me to some time it show me on error 504, 404 however
    I improve for my phone but some time I felling bad and won't to push them on so Wifi not good to connect too •.

    WIFI goes white only for a few seconds if I turn it off and on. When I first got the phone it was always white if anyone could help id appreciate it cheers

  • Curve 9360 WiFi Problems.

    So recently my BBM and Internet package run out so I thought I'd use my WiFi but only the browser works. I rebooted my phone earlier today and WhatsApp worked after I left the house and when I came back it stopped working so I rebooted once again and it won't work :/

    Many apps require that your BIS data plan be active, even if you are using services via WiFi. From what you describe, this is what I would deduce to be your situation.

  • Blackberry curve 8520 screen problems???

    hi, i have a 5 month old blackberry that has not had any water damage (i checked the white stickers)
    a month ago small green and black vertical lines started to appear on my screen, but since then they have gotten worse, its almost like a color 'veil' in that section of the screen as things still show up behind it, it is now doing the same thing in a diferent place and im worried that eventually i wont be able to see whats on my screen
    is the screen under guarantee??
    will this problem still fall under guarantee??

    I'd check with the carrier about this.  I don't think a battery pull will help, but you can try.
