Black and white on Lightroom 4 back to color?

I edited a photo in black and white on Lightroom 4 and saved it to a folder on my desktop. I had to then erase the photos from Lightroom to make room for more photos(before I got my external hard drive). My client would like the color version of the black and white photo but I didn't save a color copy. I normally do but somehow I missed this one. Is there any way to strip the photo I have back to its original color? Any advice would be appreciated.

What file type is the photo? DNG? It would be possible. JPG? No way.
Other file types? Describe them.
Is the image on your camera? Would it be possible to restore it?

Triple click the home button to switch of the greyscale feature.
Turn Greyscale on or off. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Gtreyscale. Or, use the Accessibility Shortcut. See Accessibility Shortcut on page 139.

Taking a photo to black and white with one item left as color.

I am trying to take a picture of my daughter and turn it black and white while leaving the tulips still in color. I cannot figure out how to do this, please help!

Use the Smart Brush tool, and select the "Reverse Effects...Reverse - Black & White" option, with "Inverse" checked.

I understand how to turn a pic black and white but can not figure out how to turn a single item in the pic back to color like for example a pic of a child wearing a pink bracelet i want the pic to be black and white but the bracelet back to pink...can someone please help with this?.

desaturate
make sure the mode (image> mode) is rgb
then either paint with the brush in color mode, or make a selection and use an adjustment layer in hue/sat/brightness mode with colorize checked to adjust the item to the desired color.

Black and White With Color Not Working

I am trying to have the background of my image black and white with the person in color. I turned black and white on then tried brushing black and white away from the person. Instead of the full, vibrant color coming back it was a dull color. Instead, I tried turning black and white off then brushing black and white into the background. This time, instead of being pure black and white it was black and white with an obvious hint of color. I have watched plenty of tutorials and know that it is possible to have it be pure black and white in the background with the person in front appearing in full vibrant color. I just don't know what I am doing wrong that either my vibrant color is looking washed out in one method or my black and white isn't pure black and white in the other method. When I first turn black and white on the image does go to pure black and white. Any suggestions?

See what happens after re-booting.
Is "Brush Range" set to "All"?
Try the same adjustments on another Image.
Try the "Color Monochrome" adjustment and see if it works as expected when brushed in/brushed away.

Black and white images appearing sepia online

While editing i've made images black and white in lightroom. In my catalog they show black and white, in folders on my computer they show black and white.
However for some reason when I load them online, some of them will show with a sepia/brown tone.
It's only happening with a select few of the images and I can't figure out why.
At first I thought it was maybe a problem with blogger, but the images in question are loading sepia toned on Facebook as well.
I'm not applying any special features during export, adding tints, or changing color tone. And as I said, it's not happening to all of them.

The first black and white worked fine, and the rest are sepia looking.
Any suggestions would be welcomed, as this is very frustrating!

The problem isn;t that the images are black and white, but more likely that they have a greyscale color profile. iPhoto only supports RGB, so attach an RGB profile to the images and they will display correctly.

There was a popup on my iPhone 5 and all screens are now black and white. How do I reset it to color?

A Popup appeared on my iPhone 5 screen and I thought I clicked for better visibility in color, however all screen are black and white. How do I get color back on screens? I have gone to settings, general, accessibility and tried numerous options there to no avail.

I would suggest checking Grayscale, and also Contrast in Settings > General > Accessibility. If changing those options doesn't make a difference, you could always go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

It seems ePrint is no longer available and now forced to use HP Connect. I am not seeing the option to print in black and white. Printing email messages in color is a waste of ink. Any help would be appreciated.

I was using ePrint however that is auto-directing me to HPConnected and I no longer have the option to change the printing options to Black and White or Color. This is a recent change for me.

The general idea is that you colour correct photographs once, archive, and convert with or without colour changes. The archived photograph is unchanged - or we would be colour correcting the same photographs again and again and again.
If you have a photograph with a corrected exposure, you can open the photograph in the Apple ColorSync Utility, apply a colour space conversion to a grayscale appearance using the preinstalled ICC profile, save the photograph under another name, and place that in your pagination.
If you have a paginated document with corrected exposures, and any such non-scalable bitmap or scalable spline graphics as you have chosen to add, you can render the pagination as a whole to PDF through the same ICC profile, carrying out the same colour space conversion on any and all objects.
Caveat: If you intend the pagination for certain processes, in particular offset lithography, then you are probably expected not to render the type to grayscale, but rather to render it to single ink solid black. No software can determine what printing process you intend, you have to understand a bit about printing, and how to set up general colour space conversions in software. Ask your prepress provider, and if the answer is not prompt and proficient, pick another provider.

Deskjet 3050 does only print JPG files in color - all other docs are only printed in black and white

Dear All,
I have a problem with my Deskjet 3050 Printer. (USB connected with my laptop).
My printer won't print colored documents in color but only in black and white (except for JPG files (photos) which are printed in color.
Word documents or PDF files (for example) are always printed in black and white - even if these are in color.
Copying colored pages with my printer is no problem.
This works perfectly well. The printer is connected to my PC via USB.
The cartridges (color and black and white) are practically new and original HP cartridges.
Could the problem be related to the printer settings which I might have changed by accident.

Hi Cheticamp,
From the control panrl go to Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer and select Printing Preferences.
Cluck the Advanced button and ensure that Print in Grayscale is set as off and confirm.
From Word click on File > Print and click on Settings.
You will see the dame printing preferences screen.
Press Advanced and ensure the grayscale optio is set as off for Word as well.

My iPod connects to my TV just fine, but it only plays in black and white,

i can connect it and get it to play videos, but it will only play in black and white. i know the videos are color, but none is coming up. any ideas on problems or ways to fix it?

So just the three RCA jack type, one side into your iPod's headphone jack and then Video and L&R Audio RCA plugs at the other end?
Did you check your iPod's video settings to make sure you are not sending out PAL when you want NTSC or sending out NTSC when you want PAL?

Force Canon C5030 to print black and white

Hello:
I am trying to force my Canon C5030 to only print black and white even if it is sent color prints. We do not use a print server and if I change the defaults on each machine, co-workers can still change it to print color. Is there a way to force this through the settings on the actual printer?

Hi,
I don't know what setting on the device could prevent from printing in color. Maybe something in service mode.
I would suggest to use the Canon Generic PCL6 driver and set it to 'Black & White [A3]' in Device Settings in the printer's properties. In that way, you can provide all functionalities like finishing options, drawers etc. and the color option will not be available.
But If you don't have a print server, probably users will be able to install a color capable driver themselves on their computer.

Pixma printer adding color while trying to print black and white.

I've had this printer (Pixma MG5320) for about a year and a half now and recently noticed a problem with it. I have been doing a lot of black and white photography lately (both digital and analog), and every black and white photo I print has some color fo it. For instance I printed out a black and white digital picture I took recently that I edited using Nik's Silver Efex Pro. Instead of the picture coming out black and white, it has an orange/red hue to it throughout the image, yet on my monitor it is void of all colors (except shades of black and white of course). A few months ago I tried to print another picture, and it had a blueish/green hue printed throughout the picture as well.
I am printing all these photos via Photoshop, and even went into the settings to click on "grayscale printing" but the problem still persists. The printer does this with both brand new ink cartridges and ones that have been used before. I can't figure out if there is some odd setting in Photoshop that I may have accidently messed around with (though there really shouldn't be), or if it's an issue with the printer itself. If I print a color photo, all the colors seem about right and I don't notice an off hue on any of them.
Does anyone know what could cause this? I am just trying to troubleshoot the whole ordeal because it's gotten to the point where printing b&w photos is not in question until I figure this issue out.

In the camera app tap the 3 overlapping circles at the bottom right. This takes you to the filters. Select the middle one (none)
