Black area starting to appear

It's going on my 2nd month and hadn't have one single problem yet.
until today. When I was looking at my display I noticed something i haven't before, when I started using a wallpaper that is mainly white I found in the lower left hand corner there is like large black streak, almost looks like part of a circle showing in the corner, its fairly large as well and extremely annoying.
Is this suppose to be the Apple display that we hear so much about?
Can someone tell me if this is covered under warranty I have APP.

Also to get a better idea of what I mean, if you look at the shadowing effect that windows give off its just like that, somewhat transparent.

Sorry, but I couldn't find a "community" that fit this issue so I put it under Installatiohn & Update. Feel free to change the secton.

    Hey,
With the end of support for Acrobat 9, it might not be possible to find updates there.
You can access Acrobat 9 updates for the version 9.5.5. via the following link:

How do I make the Black in Pages True Black? I make Newspaper ads and they are starting to look anemic.

Sorry Eric but that is the wrong specification and will produce a muddy brownish grey with possible registration problems particularly in small type as well as being wasteful on ink.

Open the Color Picker > click on the color slider tab > click on the color mode patch > choose Black & White > Brightness: 0% (black patch) > drag down to recognisable swatch below
To label it > click on the color sets tab (3rd tab) > click on the gear > New > Rename the set "DrD's > drag down the swatch from the bar above > Label that 100k > click on any stray swatches and rempve by clicking on the - button below
These swatches are System wide and available to any application that accesses the Color Picker. Unfortunately Apple has not seen fit to make them easily transferrable or saveable and importable.
Make the 100k swatch part of your Styles in the Styles Drawer, particularly the text to ensure it is used, you can't spot it on screen and there is no feedback anywhere that it is selected.

  • When 40+ tabs are open, black boxes start randomly covering screen

This is a weird one, and I couldn't find anything describing problems like it elsewhere.
If I have about 40 or more tabs open, black stripes and blocks start covering the screen. If I move my pointer, they start forming more where the pointer goes. After maybe 30 seconds, if I move my pointer, the black areas go away where the pointer goes. Sometimes if I do nothing, all of the black areas go away on their own. It's almost as if Firefox can't render the page and it takes it that 30 seconds to regain the ability to do so. Bizarre!
    Anyone have any ideas?

Hello rch427, try '''disabling graphics hardware acceleration'''. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window as follows: click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options''
#In the Firefox Options window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. '''Uncheck''' this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

There is a Report S_ALR_87012341 for Duplicate invoices verification.
The Report S_ALR_87012341 is not working correctly.
Duplicate invoices have started to appear on the report for the first time.
These documents are however 2 years old and have now been archived.
It appears that the documents are only on the report once the archiving of the document has taken place.
We need to understand why the report is not showing these documents as we use this as one of our controls in AP.
Kindly help the approach that is required to resolve this issue.

Look at the authorizations , use SU53 to find out missing authorizations .
Else , look up for your basis counterpart - to take a trace of the same to find out the exact bug.

  • Why do these black letter box borders appear?

Hi, I created a stop motion AVI file which I imported into Sony Vegas and then exported into PhotoShop. When I export from Sony Vegas into photo shop, thses black letter box edges appear on the video file, as seen on the lefthand image.
If anyone could tell me what they are and how to get rid of them, I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Chris

You know you're posting in the forum for FrameMaker publishing software,
right, not a Photoshop or video forum? To it's not really the right
    audience.
That said, it looks to me as if your image is a 4x3 aspect ratio video set
into a 16x9 canvas -- the black boxes are the dead area in which you don't
have an image. To fix it, correct the size of the canvas or frame size to
    match the video images.

  • I have black nano, but it appears white when connected to laptop

    I have a 1GB Black iPod Nano 1st Gen.
Whenever I connect it to my computer, the icon that appears on the desktop is that of a white nano.
Also, iTunes doesn't recognize it as a black nano either- it appears as a white one.
Is this normal? Can something be done about it?
    I would appreciate any help.
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

if the connection works and there are no problems,
then the icon color is not something you need to be
    worried about... seriously.
if it really bugs you, try going to over to IconFactory.com,
where they have a zillion icons you might be able
to swap out for your white icon. The link above
goes right to QuickPix 2005, a series that contains
    some iPod icons.
    good luck!

  • Dancing pixels in large black areas of my new 30 inch ACD

I posted this on a thread in the 2004 forum, and then thought to post it here since I just bought my 30 inch LCD new from the Apple Store yesterday.
I have a dancing pixel / pixel static problem, which happens whenever there are large black spaces on the screen, such as the black computer name screen saver, or the black screen where you enter your password to get back into your account from secure sleep. The dancing pixel static also appears in Terminal windows that are set to have a solid black blackground.
To deal with this problem, I just decided to set my Terminal and gvim backgrounds to dark grey. This seems to be a tolerable solution. I also took all the firewire and USB cables out from the back of the display, which was proposed by Apple support as a fix to this sort problem last year, as someone reported in the forum.
I still have to deal with the dancing pixel static in the short interval between the time I activate any screensaver with a hot corner, and the appearance of the same. And the static is all over the place when I try to get out of the screen saver and have to give me password.
I think I can live with that as long as the problem doesn't get worse... Anyone have a similar experience?
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

OK I went to the Apple Store today and they let me trade it in for a new 30 inch LCD. This one is definitely better. There is some pixel static still in large black areas. But much, much less. I hardly notice it, though I can if I look for it. But overall I'm very happy with it now. I love the screen. 30 inches really makes a huge difference.
I wonder though what's the deal with large black areas that causes this to happen on the LCDs.

  • When hovering a box starts to appear behind the cursor and changes brightness

When I use some of the tools in photoshop (eraser, lasso, etc.) a box starts to appear behind it. Depending on the color of what it's hovering over it will start to change either to white or black.
How do I get rid of this? I just want a normal cursor without this box behind it. For some reason when I switched over to Photoshop CS3 this was the preset, and I can't find how to switch it back to the original cursor.

See if trashing your Photoshop prefs. will cure this.

  • My 2007 iMac (lion) starts, logo appears, status bar shows up, takes 2 mins to finish, then shuts off

My 2007 iMac (lion) starts, logo appears, status bar shows up, takes 2 mins to finish, then shuts off. Please help!

This sounds like a hard drive issue. First I would try to boot to safe mode: OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support
If that works do a backup ASAP with Time Machine: Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac - Apple Support or copy your important files to an external drive if they are not already backed up. If that does not work, Boot to recovery:  OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
The next step would be verifying and if needed repairing the hard drive using Disk Utility.
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck - Apple Support
If it successfully repairs, do a restart and see if it boots as normal. If it cannot be repaired, it means that the hard drive has failed/is failing. If you do not have the data backed up you could try getting the data using target disk mode: OS X Mountain Lion: Transfer files between two computers using target disk mode ,booting from an external drive that has OS X installed on it: OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support, or 3rd party data recovery service.
After data is backed up or recovered, you would need to do an erase and install of OS X: OS X: How to erase and install - Apple Support
If it fails to erase, then the hard drive needs to be replaced.

  • Erm...An exclamation mark '!' has started to appear on my AE screen - Why?

Erm...An exclamation mark '!' has started to appear on my AE screen - Why?
It doesn't seem to be affecting anything and I can't seem to find anyone else on the web who has the same issues, the only thing I'm hazarding a guess at is that it is something to do with Open GL, as its in the same colour/font + drop shadow as the open GL font is. Beyond that I'm stumped.
    Anyone any ideas?

There's a weird glitch that causes some script panels to appear at the minimum size (which looks an awful lot like an exclamation point).
Scripts like BG Renderer need to be installed in the ScriptUI Panels folder and run from the Window menu as described here: http://aescripts.com/faq/how-to-install-and-run-scripts/
Once it's installed and run this way, you should avoid the issue you are experiencing.

This was using a Medium VBR, 2048 kbps.
These are really big areas - not like usual compression artifacts. Image 1cm by 2cm wide kind of areas, made of big black blocks. Like 8bit sprites from some ancient video game started flying around in the sky
Hmm... incidentally I've noticed the black blocks tend to happen in large bright areas like skies - what could that mean?

  • A 2 week old 6500A Plus with white cones shaped streak in black areas of printing - unreadable

Ink Levels are ok - 50%.   When I print a test page the 1" black area at the top will have a cone shapped area in the middle that is blank .  Original Cartridge.    I cycled thru the clean function an deven the advanced function.  It worked for a couple days and then started doing it again.  I replaced the cartridge this AM and it now works -  What's Up??

The most likely cause is a blocked vent on the top near the front of the ink cartridge.  Make sure there is no tape residue in the vent.  See the information in figure 4 and 5 on this page.  Click on the link, then click on show all.
