Black background in some dialog boxes

I have Windows XP SP3 on my MacBook Pro.
One Program shows up with some dialogboxes
that have black backgound and some white text,
but not all text is white some text stays black.
And black text on blach ground is not good to read
Already tried the latest nvidia driver from nvidia,
but the dialog stays black.
Is there a solution for this problem somewhere?

The black background just appears on the MacBook dialog-boxes
of this program, under bootcamp or under parallels.
Here is a demo of this program:
<http://www.orca-software.com/content/orca/index-dateien/data/Projekt1/Item830/F orm1321.htm>
On several other PCs it works fine.
Is there somebody who also had black backgrounds in dialog-boxes?

  • Funny fonts in some dialog boxes on Mac OS X 10.6.5

    Hi
We only just started using Dreamweaver after installing it a little while ago. We have version CS5. When we go, for instance, to the Page Properties dialog box,  the field labels seem to be using a corrupt font. I wonder, if that is the case, if it's possible to find out what font it might be so we can replace it. Or, check to see if it's missing. I've checked that the font in /LIbrary/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts are correct - and the default fonts are present in /System/Library/Fonts and /Library/Fonts.
    Any suggestions apprectiated!

Definitely a corrupt font without a doubt.  Only thing you can do is open up Font Book and see if you can find the suspect.  I doubt it came from an Adobe installation, looks to be a custom font, probably an "outline" version by the looks of it.  You could always take a screenshot and crop the image and use What the Font so you don't have to go through each font.

  • How do i make program wait for user input in some dialog box?

    basicly function public UserData getUserData()
displays window and returns a value when somebody has pressed OK in JFrame. How?

Extend from JDialog instead of JFrame and it'll give you the waiting that you need.
To use a JFrame is a little more involved.
I had to the other day also. I wanted to have a dialog that would be both a dialog and a JFrame. Reason: when the app started up, I wanted to get some data from it (and have it appear in the task bar for normal application selection), and also wanted the app to call the same window when running but as a dialog (ie: no extra task bar icon). However only the JDialog stopped the calling thread for the dialog.
To get the JFrame to do the same, I invoked a thread and piled all of the logic into that, and when the user did all that I wanted them to, closed the Frame and released the thread with all of the statefull stuff that I wanted.
    Worked a treat.

  • Has anyone else seen this dialog box graphical phenomenon?

    Hi,
I'm running 10.5.4 on a MacBook Pro (4,1) and have noticed a strange effect on some dialog boxes in Leopard - darker grey blocks appear around text, controls and buttons within the dialog box. The effect occurs on both the MacBook Pro display and the Cinema Display it is connected to.
See the following links for examples:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jammylammy/2732289268
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jammylammy/2735071703
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jammylammy/2738394376
So far it appears in dialog boxes from Entourage, Photoshop & Illustrator (both CS2 & CS3) and iTunes. I initially thought it was only occuring in PowerPC apps running under Rosetta but iTunes is a native Intel app.
Not all dialog boxes are affected - it doesn't appear in Safari, for example:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jammylammy/2735078907
The boxes are still perfectly usable and it doesn't appear to be a monitor brightness issue as it occurs whatever the brightness setting. I wondered if it was related to the Nvidia graphics card issue (the Macbook Pro is fitted with a GeForce 8600M GT 512MB graphics card) but haven't been able to find any mention of this on these forums or through a wider Google search.
Has anyone else come across this strange phenomenon?
    Thanks!
    John

Isn't this just a situation where some apps' code is written differently than others?
It may well be yes. After more searching I found a similar thread here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7638343&#7638343
It may well be something as simple as Apple changing the default background colour for dialog boxes slightly. What puzzles me about that explanation is that the 'effect' occurs in iTunes 7.7 which was released just weeks ago - whereas Leopard's been out in the wild since last October.

  • How to disable the "GETTING PLAYLIST" dialog box that appears in Radio

In itunes radio playlists, I click on a station and a message appears in a box, centered on the monitor screen that says "getting playlist" along with a blue striped status bar. I wonder if I can get rid of this annoying thing.! Because I know it is getting the playlist; I just clicked on a station. Why do I need to have this box sit on top and in the middle of my other applications?
Is there some genius out there who knows an answer?!

I don't think there's anyway to disable it, I just minimise iTunes or click on another application's logo while it loads. I agree with you as to it being annoying, but I don't think there's anyway to disable it. In my opinion it should just do it in the background without the dialog box...!

  • Acrobat Reader DC - Bug with Dialog Boxes Containing Images?

    Hi all -
Been testing Reader DC.  Only took a couple of minutes to adjust to the new interface; pretty slick and intuitive.
Noticed a potential issue that I wanted to warn/share/prob solve with the community.
I was putting Reader DC through it's paces with a XFA PDF that has some dialog boxes, some of which even had images in them.  (Thanks again to BR001.)
The dialog boxes with images look great on Acrobat & Reader 9/10/11 (WIN & MAC) - images are clear; no pixelation.
Reader DC on MAC appears to be fine - resolution looks the same.
But Reader DC on WIN - the images are now pixelated. Especially around the edges, characters/numbers, etc.  You can tell something is "off" with the image.
A few simple side-by-side tests can be seen at links below.  Reader DC is on left; Acrobat 9 (9.5.5) is on right.

    Lightroom image: Dropbox - Lightroom Image - Comparison Test.PNG (225 x 132)

Bug in Reader DC for Windows? Not sure what else the cause could be...
Anyone having their dialog boxes with images open in Reader DC for Windows WITHOUT the pixelation?
    FYI/thoughts/ideas/suggestions/confirmations?  Hmmm.....

    Hi
My C3PO workds beautifully, but not in GW 7. The toolbar button has a
black background in GW 7 but when I run it with 6.5 or under, it works
    fine.
I am also calling Documentum components from the GW client and some of
these forms have a black background in some of the textboxes. Very strange!
Does any one have a clue?

    Hi
Ok I found it. You have to make the background of your image red. This is
somehow used as a transparent colour in GW 7.
    Cheers

  • Alternatives to "dialog box" for on screen notification

I would like to activate a small notice on screen while my script is working. This will prevent others from doing work on the machine while its doing its magic in the background. The "dialog box" stops background tasks from happening. I found iNotify, but the product is no more. Any alternatives to a dialog box? Thanks - J

I think CB wants to lock the screen so that others can't use the machine while the script is running (though I can't quite imagine why - macs are designed to multi-task). I don't know of a way to do that in a normal user account from applescript. if that's what you're after, you'll probably either want to write a cocoa shell for your applescript that takes over and locks down the screen, or else you'll want to restart into a special user account that has no GUI, run your script, then reboot into the user's account.

  • How to disable HP Universal Printing dialog box

Hi, I am trying to install HP Universal Printing PCl 6 printers on a local machine using a batchfile from an application (C#) which automatically detects if a printer has been installed or not. The batchfile has the following entries:
    set IP=IP_%1
    pushd "%windir%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\
    Cscript Prnport.vbs -a -r IP -h %1
    rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /ia /m "HP Universal Printing PCl 6" /h "x64" /v "Type 3" /f %windir%\inf\ntprint.inf /u
    rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /if /b %1 /f "%windir%\inf\ntprint.inf" /r IP /m "HP Universal Printing PCl 6"
When I run my application, the printer is installed but when I try to print, sometimes I get the HP Universal Printing dialog asking me to select a printer. I can't even exit from this dialog. Other times when I dont get the printing dialog my print function fails with Invalid Handle exception.
The next time I try to print with the printer installed, it prints documents successfully.
How can I disable this print dialog using the batchfile above and why do I get the Invalid Handle expection on the first install and print??

I don't think there's anyway to disable it, I just minimise iTunes or click on another application's logo while it loads. I agree with you as to it being annoying, but I don't think there's anyway to disable it. In my opinion it should just do it in the background without the dialog box...!

    Ashwini,
I don't understand what your exact problem is, but i can give you some feedback on the VI:
    1) It is good to include timing into loops. But your comment implies, that you do not use timing in loops which are not connected to UI-controls. This is bad. You should always include timing into loops except if you want something (which has to be finit in execution!) to execute as fast as possible.
    2) Your timing is 1s. This is far too long for proper interaction. Tests showed, that delays about some 100ms lead to misusage of the application. So please lower the time to something around 100-250 ms.
    3) The VI checks "MR" against 4 and then decides if it should continue in the loop or to show the dialog. This is not good since the comparison is only done once in the beginning.
    4) Never use the "run continuous" button!
    hope this helps,
    Norbert

When I open a pdf in Adobe Acrobat xi pro it is not displaying correctly. If a file is all black with orange writing, I will see only the orange writing. Its not until i print it or open crop pages dialog box that i see the background.
    i am on a Windows 7 professional PC, 64-bit.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

  • Dialog boxes in PS & Bridge CS6 have black background

All of the dialog boxes in my Bridge & Photoshop CS6 have black writting on a black backgroud which makes all of them unusable. I have recently zeroed my hard drive and reinstalled all software (Adobe via Creative Cloud) and this problem popped up.
    Any Ideas??
There is a similar 2012 forum thread which addressed this problem, stating the solution was found by zeroing the drive, then reinstalling: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1008692
    Here's what it looks like:
Running on MacBook Pro (2011 build)
    OS 10.8.5
    Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel i7
    RAM: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory (2x 4GB)
Graphics: Intel DH Graphics 3000   512MB
HD: 750 GB SATA (129 GB free)
    Photoshop CS6 (v13.1.2)
    Bridge CS6
(all other CS6 apps working fine)

Apparently this issue is cauused by agressive registry cleaners like MacSweeper that have deleted some files.  Here is the help doc.

  • My lock screen just shows a black background and a User Name/Password dialog after opening the screen from sleep. How do I get it back to where it blurs my desktop image with the dialog and my account image displayed?

I'm not sure when it began, but now my Macbook Air only shows a black background and a User Name and Password dialog box when I wake it from sleep. It used to show my desktop background blurred with my user name and icon displayed with only a text field for entering my password. I'm currently using Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1) and all updates have been done. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know this isn't a real problem, just an annoyance since I couldn't find how to change it back in the System Preferences.

I just have to point out that after looking at a related post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22661092#22661092), it brought to memory that my issue most certainly began happening after I added some DoD certificates to the keychain. This obviously has something to do with it, but it still leaves me wondering what actually causes this to happen. :/

I have a black dialog box on my display that I cannot get rid of. I was cleaning my keyboard and must have hit some combination of keys that caused it. It shows text announcing everything I open on the display or am looking at. Can anyone help me turn this off? Thanks.
