Black background of title turns color when adding fairy dust effect

I have iMovie HD 5. I created a title using the animated gradient effect with orange font color and with the "over black" box checked. i then went to add an effect to the title clip, the "fairy dust" effect. After the effect is applied, the black background changed to the orange font color. In the previews, the background remained black when I added the effect. What can I do? Thank you

  • Background Color When Adding Frames - PSE8 or PSE9

When adding a frame to an image, the background color that is outside of the new frame, and which borders it, always comes up white for me.  Can that area be made to come up another color, and if so, how?  Thanks!

Hi,  I understand that, but what I really want to do, and perhaps I didn't express myself clearly, is select a background color other than white and have it come up as the default color until such time as it's changed.  Thanks!

For the background, you can either choose any background from the content panel or
choose any color from the color palette
    select Paint bucket tool
Click on a New layer icon in the layer's panel with Control/Command pressed.
Click on the white area around the frame.
the area is filled with the color selected.

  • Image with transparent background changes surrounding fill color when PMS...

    Hello.
I have a .PSD image I'm using in InDesign CS3. It's a greyscale image with a transparent background. When I bring it into InDesign and set the background color of the image box to a Pantone and then print it, the PMS color within the area of the .PSD image size changes color compared to the rest of the page. But, when the same document is printed, but with "All Spot to Process" via the Ink Manager, the page prints fine. I get the same results on a number of different Canon and Xerox proofing printers. I have uploaded a PDF to my web server showing an example of the results I'm getting the PDF can be found here:
    http://theboyk.net/temp/PMSvsCMYK.pdf
The first page is the document printed normally. You can see the color change in the green (Pantone Green). The second page is the same document printed with "All Spot to Process" via Ink Manager.
Does anyone know why this happens when I leave it as printing a spot color?
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

I totally forgot to put that in my post.  Yes, I am putting logos with transparent backgrounds in front of colored rectangles.  That's how I noticed that this one logo is showing up with a white background.  The weird thing is that the other two logos are fine.  I did find a different version of this logo and this one works fine.  The one that works fine is a JPG and the one that shows up with a white background is a JPG.

  • Flicker/flash in top and bottom when adding the "Gaussian" effect to clip.

I get a flicker/flash on the top and bottom of one of the clip where I have added the "Gaussian" effect. A "white - black - white - black" flash. This happened just to one of many clips with the same gaussian effect.
It seems as if the flash happens on every other frame.
Anyone know how to fix this?
I tried taking screenshots of the clip/flash - but it did not show that well in the picture..

Couple of ways to go this. Simple way make the clip a compound clip and apply the letterbox to the compound. Open the compound and do the straightening and rotating inside the compound.

  • Text is white when behavior applied, turns color when done

I want some text to drop in and applied the drop & bounce behavior. When it is dropping in, the text is white, then changes to the color I want it to be when the behavior is done and it is static. I tried changing the fonts to see if that made a difference (it doesn't). I looked in the inspector and changed the face color in the text tab and the behaviors tab. If I have a sequence text added also, the color comes in for some of the letters and then fades again...what is going on, and how do I fix it please? Thanks in advance for any insight you might have on this rather vexing situation.

Assuming from your post that you WANT it to change colors, go to the Style section of the Text tab. OPT-click the animation menu beside the RGB values for the Face to set a keyframe where you want the color to start changing. Advance in the timeline to the place you want the color to settle, OPT-click again to set a 2nd keyframe.
Then Adjust the Face color as desired. Now it'll change color over time.

  • How can I control the FAQ title with CSS when using the Ajax effect

I am calling the FAQ module with the Ajax effect.
    I would like to set different states with CSS to the title;
I have tried to use :hover, :active and :focus on the div.
It would be nice with a different styling when the item is "open"
(I know there is a problem with the stacking, but I posted that in another thread)

    Hi
There is one thing You might miss in iDVD - So do I - the ability to re-arrange in the DVD map (block diagram)
The order things will be pplayed or addrssed is same as the order each item is introduced into iDVD.
To my knowledge ther is no way around this.

  • Problem: Light color shadow on top of black background when printing

    Using InDesign CS3, PC.
I have a book cover design that looks perfect on screen. There is a section with a black background and colored letters on top of it. Also on top of this black background is an image of a dinosaur (made in illustrator CS3). The image was placed into the InDesign file and does not have any color to the background. But when it is printed (Xerox Phaser), there is a colored shadow where the image overlaps the black background section.
There are also colored areas over other black background sections where drop shadows (35%) occur on top of the black background.
Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I have never dealt with 100% black in my designs before and I must be doing something wrong.
Again, on the screen you cannot see any of these colored areas on top of the black background. It's only when I print that they show up.
    Thank you,
    Cathy

  • Black background with white ink

    Hi Everyone,
I'm pretty new at designing and one of my friends requested for me to do a business card.  I have a few problems with it: 1) the black background is not showing up when I click preview or save as .pdf file.  How do I make sure the black background will show? 2) the white ink needs to be done on the black background (black business cards with white text).  I want to make sure I cover all my steps so the printing turns out great.
    Thank You for your help,
    Aleksandra

You need to specify what printing method you are preparing for. For offset printing, you usuallly don't print the white; you print the black around the white. But nowadays, business cards are done in a variety of printing methods, including for example, screen printing onto plastic cards. Screen printing can print opaque white ink onto a colored substrate. "Gold" could mean anything from a Pantone metallic spot color (offset) to gold foil (letterpress) to an opaque screen ink (screen printing).
If you don't know, just forget the background, prepare the white elements as solid black (100%K, not a so-called "rich black"), and communicate the printing color to the printer.

  • Imported .gif has black background

    Hello All,
I imported a .gif with a transparent background but when I try to use the logo in cs4 premiere Pro it has a black background. I can't figure out how to take out the black background. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

What you saw in my example was the Program Monitor expanded beyond the Frame Size of the Assets. If you are seeing black surrounding, then there is probably an issue between the Project/Sequence Preset and the actual source footage. Now, this might take a bit of interpolation, as there are some major changes between my PrPro 2.0, and CS4, but it should be similar enough that you can fill in the blanks, if I am clear enough. Or, it could just be a difference between the GUI in CS4 vs my PrPro 2.0.
For me, Presets apply to entire Projects. For you, they can be applied to individual Sequences. If I need to find out what Preset was used (and any custom settings, should I have chosen Desktop), I would go to Project (in the Toolbar), and look at Project Settings. You should be able to do the same from the Sequence in the Toolbar. That should give you all of the settings. You can then Rt-click on your AV Asset and choose Properties. These should match in every respect.
Now to the GIF. When you drag it to a Video Track, higher than your Video Clip, you still get that black background? This is not when used on a Title, but just as an Asset on the Timeline. Are there any Effects applied to the Logo?
One more question: are you observing the display in the Program Monitor, and not in the Source Monitor. They look very similar, but are different displays. To get to the Program Monitor, if it is not Open, go to Window>Program Monitor. Note: it might be docked in a Pane, with other Monitors, or Panels, so you might need to find its tab, and click on that. To view in the Program Monitor, you will just drag the CTI (Current Time Indicator w/ the red Edit Line extending down from it) so that it is over both your GIF and also your Video Asset (on a lover Video Track). This will then display in the Program Monitor.
I did not alter the GIF that you attached, in any way - no Scaling, no Effects, no Motion - just Import and drag into position. I am puzzled why this is not working exactly the same way for you.
Now, Colin mentioned the Alpha Channel and its checkbox. Have you followed his directions there? I keep Use Alpha Channel checked, and had not even though about that.
Good luck, and please let us know what you find out,
    Hunt

  • PRINTING FROM FIREFOX I GET BLACK LETTERS ON A BLACK BACKGROUND WHICH IS UNREADABLE. WHY?

I have very low vision so I have the screen colors in Firefox set to black background with white letters. When printing anything from anywhere in Firefox, web site screen or this screen, I will get a black piece of paper. It prints the black screen background but prints black letters on it which is unreadable. It also wastes lots of ink. I cannot use anything with a white (or light colored) background, I am so dazzled bu the screen that I can't see anything.
It would be useful if the printing output colors could be set to ignore any special colors set on the screen.
I have the same problem with Thunderbird. I can't print my emails.

  • Toolbar button has black background in GW 7

    Hi
My C3PO workds beautifully, but not in GW 7. The toolbar button has a
black background in GW 7 but when I run it with 6.5 or under, it works
    fine.
I am also calling Documentum components from the GW client and some of
these forms have a black background in some of the textboxes. Very strange!
Does any one have a clue?
    Thanks

    Hi
Ok I found it. You have to make the background of your image red. This is
somehow used as a transparent colour in GW 7.
    Cheers

  • Getting rid of black background in iPhoto slideshow converted to .mov

    Hi all!
I have a desperate friend who created about an hour long slide show in iPhoto using "Vintage Prints" theme --it has a black background with photos getting dropped in.  There are four segments she wants me to edit together for the whole show for her daughter's graduation party. Is there any way to get rid of that black background and replace it with a solid color background or texture?  I have tons of animated textures and backrounds but I can't figuere out how to bring them to the rescue since the .mov is already created......   I thought of keying but 'black' isn't the new chromakey blue or green......  thought of a garbage mask but the shapes of the photos and collages dropping in are not constant....  Ideas?
I didn't see a way in iPhoto to convert that black background to white or color either.... Did I miss something there?
    Thanks all!

..  ...but I can't get a background or color in underneath....
    works like charme here:
.. ok, needs some tweaking: a luma-key is never working as good as a color-key ... but iPhoto delivers some very solid black, so FCPX' keyer creates an acceptable job (in my humble criteria).
ok, the fade-out-to-black in the ending of the slideshow theme makes a luma-key impossible!
keep in mind: the 'key' is more like a 'key-hole' (=as a non-native speaker, this is my mnomic )  - the color, alpha or black gets transparent and allows a look-thru to anything underneath ... that simple.

...this was so much easier in FC 7.  Thoughts?
you still think in 'tracks' - no need
    Think of 'layers'

  • When I create an album and then try to watch it in slideshow, I get only a black screen with a white title.  No photos come up.  Also when I click on an individual photo in the album, I get a white exclamation point on a black background but no big photo.

When I create an album of photos and then open the album and try to watch it by selecting "slideshow" I get only a black screen.  The white title comes up briefly but then no photos, only a black screen.  Also when I go back to the album and click on a thumbnail, up comes a big white exclamation point on a black background instead of the enlarged photo.  Any idea what's going on?

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    OK.
Post a screen shot of your sequence.

  • File keeps turning colors, pixelating when adding content or scrolling down

    Dear all,
I have a problem with my file - for some reason the background, which I have inserted from Photoshop keeps pixelating and turning to a bright green, whenever I add things to the file. When I started out working on it it did not, but the more I add the more it turns and I can not get it to turn back. It starts in Patches and then spreads throughout the document, I don´t know how to better describe it. I´m adding a screenshot, maybe you can help me. The green you see in the middle is the one it is supposed to be. In this shot it just started turning and will then spread. It is worse when a photo is involved, because then the photo uses will also turn colors.
Really hoping someone knows what went wrong.
    Kind regards!
    A.

That's a pretty complex file. When was the last time you did a Save AS to remove old and inaccessible change information?
I've never seen any color anomalies, but it's not rare for me to see preview degradation, which I've traced to lsft/right scrolling using my mouse's tilt wheel. I'm able to restroe the view by holding the Alt + Spacebar keys to get the Hand tool and clicking anywhere on the page,so I'm curious if that works for you, too.
Finally, I'd recommend exporting this to .idml to clean up any crud in the file. See Remove minor corruption by exporting
