Black bar on left will not go away and covers slides

WHen we use keynote a black vertical see through bar appeared on left covering the slides. This bar will not disappear and we can't access the individual slides anymore.
CAn anyone help please.
THanks

yeah, this one nails a lot of my work too. i typically create
all of my button images in a vector graphics application and import
the BMPs into the general, over, and pressed button slots....now,
my hover images always have a bolder, slightly larger font to them
so that the user is fully 'aware' of what they're about to
press...thing is, my tutorials invariably are fully
backward/forward environments that typically do not even involve
linear learning. they're more of a 'dig in and find some learnin'
approach, meant for 'on the spot' learning....so what happens is
whenever somebody 'revisits' a page, they'll see a button they'd
already clicked in a 'hover' state, that stays that way until you
're-hover' over it. annoying to say the least. same thing happens
when you navigate backwards to a slide that contained a text box
where the user entered info....something about each frame lacking a
'wipe clean' command (i'm no coder, sorry for the layman's
terminology)....
hopefully that's present in 2.0....

display "Application over 20MB" when I type OK button, the appearance will not go away and make me unable to open other applications, what to do and whether it must be restarted?

The 20 meg message is the download limit for 3G. If you can't get rid of the 'OK' message then you can do a reset by pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You should be able to download the apps by switching to wifi on your iPad or downloading them on your computer's iTunes and syncing them or dragging and dropping them over to the iPad device.

  • TS1702 Backup app will not go away and now the iPad is frozen

I have an icon/app that popped stating my iPad was not backed up. I backed it up, but it will not go away & I can't do anything else on the iPad, not even turn it off.

    Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

It sounds like she may have enabled VoiceOver on the machine.  Go to System Preferences, then click on Universal Access.  Check to see if VoiceOver is turned on, and if so turn it off and see if that resolves the issue.

  • Version 3.6.13 new Tab will not go away, and my home page will not display

Even though I've acknowledged 3.6.13, when I close that tab, Firefox does not show my home page in other tab. After re-establishing correct home page, when I re-start browser, same problems occur, as if I never corrected anything.

If it doesn't work for you can I recommend bookmarking your. sites as Favorites Or adding a home screen icon. You can even add the Favorites Bar to the top of the screen.

  • Navigation pane will not stay closed and covers main window

Using RoboHelp Version 7.0.3 to produce FlashHelp - ongoing project that I've been working on for quite some time.
    Just noticed this:
I launched the Help from the application with an F1. I then closed the navigation pane in the Help output and resized the window to be tall, narrower, so I could view Help and the application window side-by-side. When changing focus between windows the SECOND time I bring focus back to the open Help window, the navigation pane reappears on its own. And it COVERS the left side of the main window, there is no horizontal scroll at the bottom, and you cannot close the navigation pane at this point. Instead, you must exit the Help and relaunch it from the application to return to a usable state, where the nav pane appears on the left and the Help topic appears on the right with appropriate scroll bars, etc.
I showed my developers this and we were able to recreate several times. Their guess is it's a problem in the javascript... Is there a fix for this? Sure looks like bug.

I'm running the latest iTunes on my Windows XP system, and it keeps restarting unless I do a force termination (in windows terminology, I have to end the process in the Task Manager).
This automatic restarting is so annoying that I end up killing the windows process, and it won't start again until i reboot the computer.
Oh, and this has been going on for well over a year, with other versions of iTunes. And I'm not sharing the contents assuming that sharing would try to force iTunes to stay open. So I removed the sharing of my iTunes library to no avail.
Apple can hardly expect to be the best choice for everyone if they don't have solutions to these obvious problems. Obvious because i've seen this complaint appear for the past 5 years, since 2007 and maybe earlier than that.
Don't they know how to end a program cleanly?

  • I have a box that will not go away, it says,  "To open JavaApplication, you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime.  Would you like to check for and install one?  If i push not now, it keeps popping up, if I push install, it says it's not available, help.

I have a dialogue box that will not go away and it seems to have started when I upgraded to Mt. Lion.  the box says, "To open JavaApplication, you need to install a Java 6 SE runtime.  Would you like to check for and install one?  (smaller print)  Note: Usw of this software is subject to the Software License Agreement applicable to the software you are downloading.  A list of Apple SLAs may be found here: htp://www.apple.com/legal/sla/
Finally there are two boxes to click.  One says not now.  If I click on that the box goes away for 2 to 3 seconds and then pops back up and WILL NOT go away.  If I click on the second box, Install, it says  The software is currently unavailable.  To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open Java Application again.
My confusion here is that I have no idea what the java application is, When I click "okay" on that box, the original box pops us again and WILL NOT go away. CGoing to the apple lega web site was no help.  My solution so far has been to drag the dialogue box as far to the lower right and out of the way as far as I can.  Help.

Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.

  • Yosemite download: black dot will not go away

Since my Yosemite upgrade a few days ago, the black dots in the dock under Finder, Safari, and Mail will not go away.  I close the programs the usual way, by clicking the red dot. But then, the black dot in the dock does not disappear.
I have tried downloading  Adobe Flash Player, but it will not download because, it keeps saying, Safari is still open.
How do I close the programs, if not by clicking the red "close" button?  I do have Apple Support via phone for another six months or so, but would rather not call them if someone here could help me.
    Thanks!

The red dot just closes the window on many apps like safari.
You need to command Q for quit or use the drop down menu Safari>Quit
Command Tab will show you the running programs,  from there you can continue to hold command and tab your way through to your app then Q

    Hello,
This arrow next to your Battery symbol at the top of your phone means you are playing some sort of music or sound.
To make sure you are not do the following:
Press your Home button twice quicky
You should now have a list of open apps. Hold down the App and press the red button. This does not delete the app but it closes it.
Once these steps are complete if the arrow is gone, you are all set!

  • Apple Macbook 13.3" Laptop-Black 2008 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo will not boot up and instead I get a grey screen with a folder and a question mark over it.

My Apple Macbook 13.3" Laptop-Black 2008 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo will not boot up and instead I get a grey screen with a folder and a question mark over it.  I've tried Option key, and Control S keys and it still will not boop up.  Can anyone help?

If you are running Snow Leopard:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If you are running Lion or later:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it isthree times faster than wireless.

  • The ringer box will not go away

The ringer box will not go away on my ipad 2. I have reset to default settings. I have turned it off, I have pushed the home button and the off button to turn it off, it remains on and on as loud as it can go. I let the battery die, still stayed on. No matter what I do it still stays on right in the middle of the screen. Any ideas?

if you did all that, thats what i would tell you to do.  If you have a recent backup, I would restore it to the recent backup by plugging in the ipad to itunes, clicking on the ipad on the left hand bar, right clicking the name of the ipad, and selecting restore from back up. Then select the most recent backup from the list that pops up.  Click restore, and that should restore to the most recent back up's state.  Hope fully this works!  Do this at your own risk, I am not responsible if anything bad happens. If you follow these instructions, it will only restore to most recent backup.  Depending on when you had the last backup, you may lose some info/apps/files/music.  But you can still get them in the app store for free if you bought apps.
