I am trying to do something really simple in Adobe Acrobat XI is giving me fits. I want to markup a PDF of a map with black circles that have numbers in the middle. I added a text box, inserted a number, pressed control + E and changed the number color to white, then grabbed the text box border, right clicked, and changed the field to black. However, the text box properties box is only giving me the option to change the border style, border color, and opacity. It does not give me the option to change the shape of the text box. Earlier, after researching the issue, I was somehow able to get a box to pop up that did have a drop-down for different shapes, but it was greyed out. For some reason, when I right click it now, I only get the "text box properties" box with 3 tabs – appearance, general, and review history. And the "appearance" tab does not give an option to change the shape of the text box. This should be very simple – how on earth do I change the shape of the text box? Or, is there another way to accomplish this (what should be an extremely easy) task??

How do I create a "stamp"? That seems unnecessarily complicated. I find it hard to believe there's no option for this in Acrobat - it's easy to do in Word (just draw a circle and insert a number)..
I was able to get this box up at one point by right clicking the borders:
The 2nd and 3rd dropdown boxes from the left look like they would give you this option. However, when I click the borders now, I get this box:
which does NOT have an option to change shapes.
So how do I get to the first box?????

Blue screen with black circle in upper right corner

My Mac froze. I tried rebooting and now it won't boot past the blue screen. I have a mouse pointer and there is a small black circle with three smaller blue dots inside of it in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Clicking on it does nothing.
I tried booting in safe mode but it wouldn't boot past the galaxy screen. Again, I had a mouse pointer but nothing more.
I've tried booting from the OS disc that came with the computer. It sounds like the disc is running but nothing ever happens.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why do I get a spinning black circle on Firefox tab instead of the Firefox logo?

Since downloading Firefox I am having about 50-50 percent success rate of reaching the website I enter or click on. About 50% of the time the site loads just fine and about 50% of the time the site won't load and I get the ever spinning black circle on the left side of the tab where the Firefox logo usually is. In the instances where the site doesn't load and I get the spinning black circle if I go back and forth 3 or 4 times or hit the "x" and refresh button in the address bar a few times I can eventually get the site to load. Another odd things is lots of times when I do finally get the site to load I still don't get the Firefox symbol on the tab, I get a spinning green circle instead. Any help would be much appreciated. Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Black Circle on Laptop Monitor

I recently purchased a W520 with 6 GB of RAM and the Nvidia Quadro 1000M Graphics Card.
Occasionally a black circle appears in the upper left hand corner of my laptop monitor as shown in the enclosed image. Does anyone know what this is from? It appears to go away once I restart...

One thing I will note is that I this issue seems to have something to do with updating this machine. I'm not 100% sure but it seems that after running windows update or updating a driver, etc, this thing appears. Its almost like its telling me to restart.

Small black circle top right corner of display

I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad S500 for my daughter for xmas. Its now just starting to show a small black/grey circle up in the top right corner about the size of a penny. There is no consistancy it goes and comes. I have checked all application and processes that are running. Any ideas?

Thanks for the Video that really helped a lot,
That small black circle there is a Windows 8 / 8.1 touch input indicator,
Everytime you touch the screen is shows where you touch by showing that black circle right there.
See this video as it shows on 00:29 the black circle you are seeing on your screen, only that in this video this is what should happened normally.
If you are not touching the screen in that posistion and the computer is detecting a continous touch in that position then I believe that there is an issue with the touch screen.
Can you try Removing the AC adapter and hold down the power button, eventually the computer will turn off and still hold down the power button for atleast 10 sec after the computer turned off.
This will clear the hardware of static
also try resetting the touch calibration and re calibrate it

and hopefully will fix the touch issue.
If not I suggest you call technical support right away and report the touch screen.

First try a restore from backup
If problem still occurs try a restore to factory defaults/new Pod.
If still occurs likely a hardware problem and an appoitment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPhoto 09 - iDVD 09: black Borders left/right AND top/bottom

Setup: Snow Leopard 10.6.3, iPhoto 09, iDVD 09, all patches applied.
Source Material: HiDef 3:2 pictures in iPhoto, arranged in a iPhoto slideshow.
Export: "publish to iDVD" in iPhoto - everything works fine.
Settings in iDVD: professional quality, Always scale slide to TV Safe area: DISABLED. aspect ratio: 16:9
Target: Full HD TV Screen 16:9
Result: the image quality is not great, but ok. But: there are huge black borders left/right (which is perfectly fine given the difference between 16:9 and 3:2) AND on the top and buttom of the TV - which is not acceptable by any means.
When I start the DVD on the Mac DVD-Player, there are no borders in windowed mode, but in full screen too.
It seems as iDVD 09 simply ignores the uncecked "scale..." preset box.
Can anyone confirm this, any suggestions? Setting up the slideshow in iDVD/iMovie itself is not an option here, hence my dad is still struggling to get things right in iPhoto

As I stated before, there HAVE to be borders for the 2:3 Material on a 16:9 Screen (unless you do some heavy cropping). I am new to iPhone Development. I am using UIImagePickerView and AVCaptureSession to Open Camera. I want to set Color Effect and black & white Effect on Camera.

It is quite possible there may be a defect with your iSight camera (back side). How old is your iPhone? If you are more than 90 miles from an Apple Store you can call 1-800-APL-CARE and they can set up a mailed repair for you?
Keep in mind a mail-in repair without having AppleCare on your phone may cost you to have it turned around quickly. (Just buy the AppleCare for you phone and it should be fast)

Black blocks in my Camera Roll

Hi, I have an iPhone 3G running 4.0.1. Since getting this update I have a big black block in my camera roll, covering some images, 5 to be exact. It's hard to explain, it's just a black block covering most of the 5 images, like a glitch looking thing. I've taken photos, deleted photos and synced the phone and it's still there. Anyone heard or got this??

I had the same problem with the black blocks after upgrading to iOS4 on my iPhone. The reason for the black blocks is that the thumbnail images for those particular images have not been created when the Photo Library has been updated to iOS4. I followed the advice on a couple of blogs and fixed the problem.
1. I downloaded iPhone Explorer free software (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/) so I could view the photo data folders on my phone. I could see that the thumbnail images were missing.
2. I followed a slight variation on the instructions on this blog. (http://blog.mbentley.net/2010/06/iphone-ios-4-upgrade-restore-lost-pictures-in-c amera-roll/)
3. First I copied the Photo Data folder by dragging it from the iPhone Explorer window to my Mac desktop.
4. Through iPhone Explorer I deleted the info.plist file in the Media/PhotoData/MISC folder.
5. I also deleted the Photos.sqlite and PhotosAux.sqlite files in Media/PhotoData.
6. I then rebooted the phone and launched the Photo Library.
7. The Library rebuilt it's self again and recreated the thumbnails.
8. The problem was fixed!!! Thank you M Bentley!
I hope this helps - this has been bugging me for 2 weeks.

Icon: Black circle with an arrow

Since I loaded updated version of App World, I have new icon on my screen: black circle with an arrow. It looks very similar to circle/arrow icon for Top Free in App World. The number beside the icon is 3. So I was trilled to find out that there were 3 new updated waiting on me in My World. I promptly downloaded the updates, restarted my BlackBerry but the icon is still there. Waited one day, pull out the battery – the icon is still there. So what is this icon any how to get rid of it?

Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now. You will get a registration confirmation.
Then go to email settings and send service books. You will get an email per account.
Do a battery pull and see if the problem is resolved.

It sounds like you are trying to manually manage the iPod's contents. If that's the case, make sure the Manually manage music and videos option is enabled from under your iPod's Summary tab. See this article for more information.
