Black Clock Icon showing up constantly

I'm a relatively new Smartphone user and am still getting used to my 8530 Curve.  Over the last couple of days whenever I go to do anything on my phone (check facebook, check email, switch to another application, etc) I get this little black clock in the middle of my screen and it's like everything freezes for a few seconds.
What is this and what does it mean?  Honestly it's kind of annoying so I hope someone can explain it to me.
Thanks!

To prevent freezing or lagging/slow response on any BlackBerry, the most important practice you can adopt is to be sure to CLOSE applications when you are finished using them.
If you just hit the red "end call" key to go back to the home screen the application actually stays open and running in the background. If you do this repeatedly you will have lots of apps open and consequently your memory will get used up. Lack of memory is the biggest reason your BlackBerry slows to a crawl or locks up. If you get into the habit of actually using the menu key to close the applications this will at least slow down this memory-clogging process. You still may have to do a battery pull or use the "Quickpull" app once in a while when things get slow.
To check what applications are running on your device in the background, press the Menu key then choose Switch Applications. You will see the icons of each application there.
So now, check your applications running in the background. There are commonly four or five applications that will always be running (Messages, Call Logs/Phone, BlackBerry Messenger, Homescreen, and the Browser; there are other third party applications such as BeeJive, and BlackBerry Alerts which will also run in the background which you cannot close if you want them to operate). Make certain that the browser is NOT on an active webpage (open the browser and choose Menu > Close). Close any other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps).

    Hi there Fgonzalez2015,
You may find the camera troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping the camera swap icon . If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

HA!  I figured the find my iphone out!!!!! You can have more than one icloud account in "Mail, Contacts and Calendars".  So my husband's & kids' phone icloud account under "settings, icloud "is their individual @me.com account.  Set it to everything you want EXCEPT Find My Iphone.  Then under "settings, mail/contacts/calendars" you set up both accounts (your @me.com which may already be there), then add another with the main appleID and enable ONLY Find My Iphone.  Now when any of us log into Find My Iphone from any device with our main apple ID for the app store, all the devices show up!!!! YIPPEE.  I made my own day!
I think the message I got previously was because I hadn't disabled the find my iphone on the @me.com account first.

  • Reports Server shows clock icon in Enterprise Manager.

    Hi.
My Reports Server is showing a clock icon for its Status. This seems to happen unexpectedly for other components, too. Can anyone explain what it means ?
    Thanks.

I installed both infrastructure and midtier on a single windows server. In the EM midtier status list, my reports server also has a clock in the status column (this means unknown status). If I click on the reports server, the next page says that the reports server is down (although all components are up).
I tried to run both the JSP and paper test reports and neither work (Page Not Found).
I've looked at trace logs and nothing looks bad.
Does anyone know what is wrong????

  • 8830 constantly freezes/ locks up (clock icon on screen)

So I just purchased a new 8830 on ebay, it is a new phone with OS 4.5 installed. Occasionally I would get a black clock for a second or two when using the phone, however several times lately the black clock on the screen has been constant (30-60 seconds or more) and the phone does not want to work properly when it happens.
Service provider is Sprint- the issue effects all programs; phone, facebook, calendar, etc.
At first I thought it was the Otterbox case, but now it is out & is still doing it. The only way I can get it to stop is to take the battery out. Please help!

  • HELP!!! LOADING ICON SHOWS EVERY 5 SECONDS FOR ABOUT 3SECONDS!

I have a BlackBerry Curve 9250 for about 7 months now. I have no problems with my phone and it works well and I love it. But something must have happened cause the black loading icon on the center of the screen keeps on showing every 5 seconds for about 3seconds and my phone freezes everytime the loading icon appears.
I left the house in the morning, my phone's battery is fully charged. I did nothing special with my phone, just the usual calls and texts. I didn't download any apps either. But I was using wifi during the day so when afternoon came, the battery was already orange. When I arrived home around 10 in the evening, I checked my phone and the battery was already red so I plugged it in to charge. When it started charging, that's when the loading icon started appearing. It appears every 5seconds and it freezes the screen for about 3seconds. Now that the battery is fully charged, it still does the same thing. But now, it appears every 3 seconds and freezes for about 2seconds. What to do????

    Hi yenbaluyut
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
Have you tried a Battery pull Restart on your BlackBerry ?
Please do it by removing the Battery while your device is Powered On then wait for at least a minute then reinsert it back, your device may take a long reboot . After reboot please check if your current issue resolves.
If issue persists then you have to investigate it further ! That spining clock or hourglass appears when our device undergo low memory or if any application runs in the background. Sometime A battery pull restart is enough to resolve this issue, If we press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will pop up a screen which will show all running programs in the background ,generally five will always there ( Home, BBM, Message,Phone , Browser ) look if any other apps. are running.
Also Check the File Free at Options > Status > Check File Free , In addition have you enabled Memory Cleaner on your device?  Options > Security > Memory Cleaner,  is it enabled ? If it is then disable it because  It is also responsible for device  freezing and clocking.
If that doesn't help then you can follow this Knowledge Base article :

  • Clock icon static

The apps that come with the iPhone include a Calendar and a Clock.
The icon for the Calendar changes to show the current date.
Why does the icon for the Clock always show 10:15? I realize that the time shows at the top of the phone screen anyway, but the Clock icon is more visible, and occasionally throws me off.
(It would be nice if the temperature in the Weather icon were correct, too, but I realize that is more difficult, and it bothers me less.)

Good suggestion - never thought of that before.

  • IPhone Clock icon

This is not a question, but a suggestion.  I think the iPhone Clock Icon needs to work as an actual, live and accurate, clock showing local time while it just sits there on the screen.

IMO, that's just a waste of processor, memory and battery especially when you have the time at the top of the screen.
That being said, you can provide Apple with your suggestion... http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

  • The HP 4215 icon shows a Yellow exclamation point across it. .

I am helping my Aunt.  She purchased a new HP Pavilion, Windows 7, to replace her Pavilion HP XP.   Her printer, an HP 4215 that worked with her HP 4215 All in One that worked with her previous Pavilion, is not being recognized by the new HP Pavilion.   The HP 4215 icon shows a Yellow exclamation point across it.  The Universal Print Driver is not seeing it.  How do I get it to recognize this printer, which was working fine with Windows XP?

    Hi again,
On the PC, down along the bottom by the clock, is there an icon that looks like a printer.  If so, hover over it with the mouse and see if it shows documents pending or printer offline.  If it does, then double click on the printer to open the dialogue box.  Click on "Printer" and see if there is a check mark on "printer ... offline".  If so, then click on the check mark to remove it and it should move your printer to online.
    See if this helps.

  • HT3228 My mail icon shows how many I have, but there isn't any list on the left side.  I will read your answers on another computer.   I can send OK.

My mail icon shows how many I have, but the screen is blank with no emails listed on the left side.  They used to be there.  I can send OK.
Any suggestions?  I will read replies on another computer until this is resolved.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • Small Time Clock Icon Delay

Multiple times throught the day my BB wil have a little time clock icon that shows up and while it's there the phone is delayed and I can't do anything with it until it goes away.  I found a thread that suggested that I make sure I check all my running apps, which I did and shut down all but the defaults and the icon would still pop up.  Is anyone else having this problem or know of a solution to this?  Thanks!

Then you may have a badly behaving app installed -- this can happen even if you don't launch the app...it can cause problems while dormant. There are 2 approaches:
    1) Start removing add-on apps, one at a time, with long gaps (measured in days IMO) between. When the behavior stops (if it does), you know the culprit.
    2) Reload your OS from scratch cleanly. Run with no add-ons for a few days. If things are fine, start adding add-ons, again slowly. When the behavior starts up (if it does), you have your culprit.
It also may be that your OS is corrupt, in which case the reload may cure it.
It also may be that your OS is dated, in which case getting an update from your carriers DL site might be in order:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
You see, there are sadly many possibilities...none will be a simple time determining the right solution.
