Black default ipod touch wallpapers?

When I went to change the background of my ipod and decided to use one of the default wallpapers, they were all plain black, even when I selected them. This ipod has also been restored very recently, so I cant honestly understand why this has occured. What could I do to fix this?

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)

  • White/Black unresponsive iPod Touch

Despite just locking my iPod Touch for 10 minutes, the screen when I returned would not worked. I tried the Sleep/Home many times - still the black unresponsive screen. Then I tried to connect it to my computer - nothing. Then I tried while holding down the Home button. Luckily, my iTunes then recognised it. However, when I was told to Restore, which I did, the screen went white and the error message 21 occurred. When the screen is white and I try and turn it on or Sleep/Home, the screen either stays white or goes unresponsive black. Any suggestions?

  • Default iPod touch apps. How to use them?

    Got a 32gb 3rd Gen ipod Touch.
Playing with the default apps, went into maps, typed in my address, shows me in the wrong place on the map, can't delete the position marker as no instructions provided. Can't zoom back out to the map of the UK as no instructions are provided.
Come on apple, even microsoft provides basic instructions on their software. What is the point of having the apps installed if they don't have some instructions, even if the instructions were stored as a text file on the ipod it would make the apps useable. Very poor show guys.

Thanks for the link to the user guide, i am going to check it out now.
My ipod touch is packed back up in it's box as I am taking it back tomorrow because it's not syncing properly (posted in a thread started by someone else with the same problem)
Anyway, when I buy software online I expect to have to download manuals from the manufacturers website. When I buy something from a shop that comes in a box the manuals and proper instructions are in the box. When it comes to ipods, apple's instruction leaflet says little more than plug 1 end of the lead into the ipod and the other into a usb port on your computer.
Thanks again for your reply though and hopefully, I'll get my ipod replaced tomorrow and the online pdf file will tell me everything I need to know. If not I'll see you here again soon. LOL

  • Black screen ipod touch

the device is no reaction from him. I've tried it with the dfu mode on my computer and others have charged it for more than 2hours, the computer does not recognize him. I've noticed that he no longer was he was burning hot.

Sounds like a hardware problem. An appoinment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch Adapter Issue

The iPod Touch ships with a white adapter for seapkers and so on, but what happens if, like me you have a black set of speakers, such as the iGroove HG by Klipsch. Can you buy black adapters or do you have to put up with a weird looking set up of black speakers, iPod Touch but white adapter?
    Cheers for any help Luppo.

    Some companies ship black ones.
JBL started sending black stickers with some units to put over the white covers to save money.
I'd paint it black with a good can of spray paint (no joking)
About $5 from any hardware/Target store.

  • I have an iPod touch 2G and I can't set up a passcode lock. I hit "Turn Passcode on" and then enter the passcode I want. Then it brings me back to the Passcode Lock Screen, NOT turning on my passcode.

I hit "Turn Passcode on" and then enter the passcode I want. Then it brings me back to the Passcode Lock Screen, NOT turning on my passcode. Now this iPod touch is a gift from my family, used before me. I set up my iTunes account, but when i view my Apple account it's not showing up. Is this the reason my iPod isnt working? Please help.

    The users guide says:
    Passcode Lock
By default, iPod touch doesn’t require you to enter a passcode to unlock it.
Set a passcode: Choose General > Passcode Lock and enter a 4-digit passcode, then enter the passcode again to verify it. iPod touch then requires you to enter the passcode to unlock it or to display the passcode lock settings.
Turn passcode lock off: Choose General > Passcode Lock, enter your passcode, and tap Turn Passcode Off, then enter your passcode again.
Change the passcode: Choose General > Passcode Lock, enter your passcode, and tap Change Passcode. Enter your passcode again, then enter and reenter your new passcode.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

  • IPod touch 4g Screen broken

My iPod touch 4g fell out of my pocket,  i was sitting down and it litterally fell from about 2 feet off the ground, I had a case for it too, but the screen still managed to break. If i take it in to the local apple store will they be able to fix it or will i have to buy a new one? It is a black apple ipod touch 4g 8gb. Can they fix it? How much will it cost?

Since accidental damage is not covered by any warranty, you'll likely need to pay to have it serviced.  Here are your repair quotes.

  • I am going to sell my second generation ipod touch, so i resetted it to factory defaults. It said it would take up to an hour, and i patiently waited. But when the black and white loading bar completed, the ipod went to the black screen with an apple logo

I am going to sell my second generation ipod touch, so i resetted it to factory defaults. It said it would take up to an hour, and i patiently waited. But when the black and white loading bar completed, the ipod went to the black screen with an apple logo on it. Sounds about right, right? But now, there is a processing circle on top of the logo, but the circle spins once, and stops at about halfway to the bottom. It just stays there, and about every half to one hour it becomes a white screen and starts all over again. (not the loading bar part, just the circle). I've tried holding the power and the home button, and it works, but it just goes back to the circle screen with the apple logo. HELP PLEASE?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Camera works, with the side buttons it takes pictures.
Although I'm not able to see on the screen.

First try a restore from backup
If problem still occurs try a restore to factory defaults/new Pod.
If still occurs likely a hardware problem and an appoitment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Does anyone know what to do if there is a black bar at the bottom of your ipod touch screen?  It is like the whole screen is shifted upwards and I cant access my top row apps.

For some reason, there is a 1 inch thick black bar that appeared at the bottom of my screen.  It shifted my whole screen upwards and now I cant access my top row apps.  The ipod still works fine, but I cant figure out how to get it back to normal.  Any ideas?

    Try the sstandard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to fctory defaults/new IPod.
If y still have the problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up.

Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up. Restored multiple times and didn't work. Ipod works with Itunes fine (can put music and podcasts on the ipod), but can't take songs off of the ipod. Using windows xp and everything is up to date. Any ideas of how to fix it?

I didn't know that it was posted three times. My computer didn't say that it posted anything.
My ipod still syncs to itunes and I can put podcasts and music on my ipod, but I can't delete songs after I put them on the ipod. When I try to delete songs I try to delete it from the main music list on the ipod. It's also doing all the other stuff that I posted before. The screen will go black and then the power off slider thing shows up for a few seconds, then it'll show the unlock slider bar. Then goes black again. It will also do that when I have the ipod unocked and changing songs or playing a game. I've restored it to the factory default/new ipod and it still does the same thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and then restored it again to the factory default and it's still doing the same exact thing. I checked and my computer is up to date.

  • IPod Touch 3rd generation stuck on black screen

I was using it and it was fine then an hour later i went to go on it again and it was just a black screen. I tried plugging it into the charger, reseting it and everything.  When I plugged it into iTunes an error message popped up saying "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001)" then I pressed ok and another message popped up saying "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone ""  because an invalid response was recieved from the device". Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Try:
'iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting
iTunes cannot connect to the iPhone because an invalid response received from the device: This error occurs when there are problems communicating through USB. This may be resolved by following the steps for errors 13 or 14, below.
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

  • Why is ipod touch background always black?

I'm not sure if this is a problem with my iPod, or just the way it's supposed to work.
I've got what I think is a second generation iPod Touch (chrome back plate, and no camera).
    Version: 4.2.1 (8C148)
    Model: MB531LL
I set the "wallpaper" to the same default background as I have in my iPhone - the gray colored background with bubbles all over.
On the iPhone, this works fine.
On the iPad, the background remains black.
Is there a different setting I need to use?  I think I've done everything right, and even reset the iPod to "new", but the background behind all my apps is still a solid black color.

Changing the home screen background is not a feature of the second gen ipod touch.
