Black default picture, in the ilife photo section

I created different slideshows in the iphoto, so that i can view them with the ilife application. When I press the menu button on my remote control, and I select the differents slideshow, the default picture, that should appear on the left of the screens, on some slideshows, doesn't appear, and it only shows a black screen. Can anybody help to solve this problem?

At the top of ur "profile card" there is an image of a camera, next to ur name. Touch that image and it will ask u to chose the camera or ur albums. If u have a picture already that u want to use choose the album option and select ur picture. Otherwise use the camera and take one of urself. After cropping the photo save ur changes and then ur done.

You do no specifically. It sounds like you are syncing a folder to the iPod. In that case:
From a Folder on Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
The iPod Photo Cache will be located in the folder you selected to sync with.
Thus, you have to change the location of the folder you sync with.

When you launch iPhoto with the option key depressed you'll get this window:

All libraries on your hard drive (and on external drives) will be listed and the currently used library will be listed as (default).

How could I possibly remove the default picture in the picture control?

I've been using the picture control and a bit of code to create a zoom effect on a picture. It all works great however I get a labview picture when the Vi is first loaded. I'm trying to get a blank area instead cause it doesn't look really tidy!

The image is configured to be the default value of "Picture". In other words: you have to get rid of the default. You can do this by either:
a) Delete "Picture" and create it again. Disadvantage: You have to recreate all property nodes connected to this control.
b) Load an empty picture and then select "Data Operations >> Make Current Value Default".

Where do photos go when shared to iTunes on iPhone on Windows? iTunes under Apps shows somethings been shared based on the size, but there is nothing in the iTunes photo section, and it says 0 photos???

I'm new to iPhoto, and I'm trying to figure out where sharing a photo to iTunes goes on the iPhone4 and/or Windows 8?
The Windows iTunes App section indicates something was shared and has an appropriate date and size, but the photo part says 0 photos, which makes it a little hard to delete.

Sharing to iTunes means the item is stored in the Individual app's file sharing area.
When your iPad is connected to your computer and selected look for the Apps tab. Select that then scroll down. First there will be a list of all your apps. Scroll down below that to find a list of your apps that support file sharing. Select iPhoto and you'll find the files you have shared to iTunes. Copy or drag them to your computer and move them where you want them.

Why are my pictures in the "All Photos" Album out of order?

Within Albums there is an "All Photos" folder but some of the photos are out of order. How is this "All Photos" album different to the "Photos" view (which is in the correct order) and why are they not the same?

Thanks, that's a helpfuland explanation of the difference and makes sense as all my photos are actually in an album (which was an event in the previous version).
However it doesn't explain why the order in "all photos" is different. It is not in the order that the albums are arranged, and odd photos seem randomly scattered about separated from other photos from the same album.
On a separate note It's also a shame as there is no way of arranging the albums chronologically (which you could do with events)

How do I change the key photo of a Photo Journal created in iPhoto for iOS?

Is there a way to choose this photo? It seems to default to the first photo in the event used to create the journal, not even first photo on first page.

If you edit the journal, select the picture you want to use, choose "Edit" and then select the settings icon (the gear wheel) you can choose to select this picture as the "Key Photo".

All I want to do is make the text description that appears when you click on a picture within the standard photo gallery a different colour.
If I view source on a gallery page I see the CSS file used is Catalyststyles/lightbox.

I found that I can target that Caption in my style sheet by adding a the style:

No thumbnail/icons for personal pictures in the finder..

So, I bought an iMac recently and I'm really liking it - but one irritating issue. On my personal pictures (not default pictures like the iChat icons in the same folder, pictures I've saved onto there) in the Pictures folder in the Finder, the pictures aren't a thumbnail/icon - they're just a white sheet of paper and to view them I have to double click on them. The finder is in icon view and show icon preview is checked. I have found a way to solve it - by changing the file extension to .jpg, but I don't really want to do this every time. Is this only doing this because by default I saved these pictures as preview documents? Do I need to save them as "All Files" (the only other option under Save As)?
By the way, is there a setting to not make file extensions visible (like in Windows), I like my files straight and to the point, not all that .jpg and .gif stuff. I read there is a setting to hide extensions for individual files, but is there not a master setting that just hides them altogether?

Finder->Preferences->Advanced->uncheck Show all filename extensions.

Should your photos all be in the photo section or albums?

I cant figure out how the pics should be organized. When I upload a pic through blogger it opens the photo section of iphoto and all the pics come up as one folder!! 10000 pics in one folder! If you put them in separate albums will this help this out? If I change them into separate albums will the photos not be in the photo part anymore?

So you are calling the photo button the library?
I'm not sure what your question is - there is an iPhoto library which is a special kind of folder called a "package" - by default the iPhoto library is in your pictures folder - You do not need to and should not be going into it
Im new to mac in general so maybe this isnt helping. How do I categorize the pics then?
However you want - many of us use keywords and smart albums - others use different methods
When I imported the library from my old computer they were all in files with subfolders, when I put into i photo they busted out into all separate folders. I dont like it like this, there are way too many folders. Thats why I want to redo them into separate albums I guess.
Again do not go into the iPhoto library and forget about its contents and how it is organized - it makes no difference - you access the photos (not the files) using the tools provided and described in the link on my previous post

I can not see the pictures in the photo pane

I'm trying to see my pictures in the photo pane (the media section in iMovie) but I can not see them. I know that I have to have iPhoto 4 or later. I have iPhoto 6 but I can't still see the photos. Can you help me?????

If deleting the pref files didn't help, then it's likely a problem in the iPhoto albumdata.xml file. This is the file that other apps must read to access your library. It usually goes bad due to a problem keyword in your library. Look for non-ascii characters in your keyword list. One user had an empty keyword that caused this problem.

I have had my ipod touch 4th generation for a couple months now.... Nowhere in the manuals or help sections does it tell me how to make individual pucture files(like that already on my computer) put onto my ipod touch.... I managed to make one and I can't remember how I did it but when I have the touch hooked up to itunes and try to pick which picture files from my computer to sync, a box always opens and says that it will delete everything in the original photo library that was in there.....
Can anyone help me there has to be away, I know someone has done it but they don't live here to show me!!!!

where on my computer am I suppose to make the individual picture files and have them to upload on my ipod touch.... I do have a photo library on my computer, but in the photo tab in itunes for the ipod touch and there is nothing checked for syncing, cause when I do check it it always says its going to replace everything i have in my photo library on my ipod touch..... So how am i suppose to have it checked and have it NOT replace pictures on it????
Also I cannot make more photo albums into my ipod touch, it just replaces the one album every time....
I am very frustrated cause I have tried the manuals and the apple support help etc and nothing pertains to my exact issue.....

By double clicking on a photo opened in event I get the picture of an exclamation mark instead of the big photo. also the slideshow does not work anymore.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair Library permissions

Can no longer attach my photos to documents since upgrading the iLife 08!

I upgraded the iLife 08 and am adjusting to the new format BUT I am feeling frustrated and po'ed because when I make word documents or want to attach photos to emails, no can do! For some bizarre reason, the Pictures tab, then the Library, no longer is accessible. So I go into the iPhoto, save the photo to the desktop, then insert it into the document. But that is time-consuming!
What happened to being able to easily and conveniently going into the Library and selecting whatever photo I wanted and inserting or attaching it?
I feel like I got ripped off...$80 for a big headache. Yes, am whining, but am hopeful that someone can help. I almost miss my old PC, that is how frustrating it has been...
