Black display macbook pro with HDMI connection
Hi I connected my macbook pro 15" to a samsung 24" display with HDMI moshi adapter.
Sometimes both display (samsung and MB) became black and I can't turn it on even if I disconnect my adapter. The only way is to turn off the macbook pro .

I have an Retina display MacBook Pro with HMDI out port. I also have an HDMI to Component cable with Audio Plugs. How can I get HDMI out to work with this cable when plugged into the MacBook Pro and connected to the TVs Component and Audio in ports.
Will not work. To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported. The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest going to Device>Forget Device in BlackBerry Desktop Software. Then close down BlackBerry Desktop Software and unplug the BlackBerry via USB and plug it back in and re-open BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Then setup your synchronization again and then test it a few times.

As is said my HP w2207h monitor is not working with a minidisplayport to hdmi adapter and a hdmi cable which is working fine for my PS3. So the cable is not the problem. And on my TV i also have no problems at all activating a second monitor. Therefore the adapter isnt the problem either. When i plug it in the typical bluescreen appears. Then after a few seconds it appears again and there is no second monitor recognized. I also used the "recognize Monitor" button without success. Please help me, are there any special drivers or something like that ?
PS: bought a high end expensive adapter now because the old one was very cheap. But didnt help. Still stuck on the macbook not recognizing anything !If you have an external drive you can hook up to the MacBook Pro I believe there *may* be a solution by getting an image to the MacBook Air.
On the MacBook Pro with the Windows install disk in the DVD drive fire up disk utility. Select the DVD and then hit the "New Image" button. Disk Utility should offer to create a disk image from the DVD. I would put that disk image on a USB drive connected to the Pro. You should be able to mount that image when you connect up to the Air. Hopefully BootCamp will be able to access that all through the process.
If that doesn't work (the drivers don't recognize the disk image once Windows gets underway for its install), you might try copying the installation files from the DVD to FAT32 formatted USB stick or drive and then using that to install Windows. I would expect Windows would be able to see the USB FAT32 drive and I don't believe any file on the drive is going to go beyond 4GB.
I haven't actually tried BootCamp on the Air, since I just use VMWare which has no issue installing from anything OSX can see. But BootCamp is going to eventually hand off operations to Windows and that's going to complicate matters--Windows has to be able to see the drive. While I believe there are drivers that let Windows connect to that drive, there's no way to authenticate (or even load the drivers I expect) before Windows itself is loaded--so it's a "chicken/egg" problem. -
2008 MacBook Pro with wifi connectivity issues

My MacBook Pro has stopped connecting to my wireless internet at my house. Works fine when connected to the Ethernet, but no luck with wireless. My iPad, iPhone, and wife's MacBook Pro have no issues picking up the signal. When I attempted the network diagnostics, the wifi will not turn on. The button that enables you to TURN ON WIFI does not respond. I made a trip to the local apple store where they reset the wireless and it worked fine in the store. Took it home and same problem still existed. Diagnostic report at the apple store showed no problems with wireless card.

as the new macbook, doesn't have a dvi port but a faste thunderbols my good old dvi2hdmi cable is useless.

Others have a ThunderBolt, which is backward-compatible with Mini DisplayPort. Get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, and make sure you insert it until essentially ALL of the metal end is inside the jack, and you will be in business. -
External monitor goes black when macbook pro has magsafe connected
Hi,
I have bought an external monitor about 1 week ago, and I have it connected with a minidisplay to dvi cable, and a dvi cable to the monitor.
It was working OK -well, it had some sudden flash to black screen that lasted about 1 second, but nothing else- until thir morning when it just started showing a black screen. Mac OS sees the monitor, and I can move windows over there, etc. It's "alive". But I only see a black screen on the monitor.
I tested with other computer, and it works OK. The cables work too.
What I discovered is that if I unplug the power adaptor from the MBP the monitor screen shows correctly.
It works OK only if the magsafe adaptor is unplugged from the MBP, it doesn't care if the magsafe adaptor is plugged to the power or not; only if it's connected to the mac book pro.
It seems like some magnet stuff is making a mess there. What could it be? I can't work on the monitor only in battery power...
I tried resetting nvram and the other stuffs that I found here, but nothing works.

Is there a MagSafe 2 compatible portable external power source for the retina display MacBook Pro?
I’m using a retina display MacBook Pro with the MagSafe 2 connection. I would like to have a portable external power source to extend the use of my laptop on long field trips where I am away from power sources. Swapping batteries is not an option for this generation of MacBook Pros. There seem to be many options for PC’s and even iPhones/iPads/iPods but the MagSafe 2 connection seems to be the issue. I saw one link that suggested buying an Apple MagSafe 2 power adapter and performing surgery on the power cord (using components provided by the vendor) so that the adapter would run on their back up battery. I was hoping for a more esthetically pleasing solution. Any suggestions? Does this product exist and I just missed it? Clearly, if a MagSafe(1) compatible external battery existed I could adapt that using the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter.

I wouldn’t recommend using an underpowered AC adapter with your MacBook Pro. It sounds as though the best solution would be to get a different laptop bag with a sufficiently large side pocket. -

1 Firewire cable.
1 Leopard / Snow Leopard install DVD.
Can I install SL on my old MBP using the DVD on my new MBP via FW ?My apologies for writing gibberish.
I thought this was a more common issue, as I have read a lot about DVD drive sharing and Remote Install but I am not able to find a straight answer to my very simple situation.
I have one old MacBook Pro that I bought the year 2006. It's the one sporting the Silver keyboard. The DVD drive is Broken (yes, there's a third option smarty pants. ). The Hard Drive in here is Erased.
I have a new (not retina drive not yet) 2011 MacBook Pro with the Black Keyboard. It came with Snow Leopard preinstalled. Afterwards I installed Lion from the app store, and much afterwards I fabricated a Bootable-Lion-Installer-USB thingy and installed it again.
Remote Install is Gone on Lion. They say the only option was firewire so I go and buy the firewire and it's still not straightforward. They say just click on the installer and choose the firewire Hard Drive (MacBook Pro) as destination. If I click on the installer it just tells me Leopard cannot overwrite Lion, which I already know.
So my original question was, trying (and failing miserably) to avoid all danger: If it is possible to install Leopard (The OS that comes in the black and purple hollographic box with a big X) using the Install DVD inserted into the DVD drive of my new 2011 Black keyboard MacBook Pro with a Bootable-USB installed Lion OS connected with a 6 pin to 9 pin FireWire cable to an old MacBook Pro bought the year 2006 with a Silver keyboard and a broken DVD drive and which by the way has the hard drive already erased.
And if it is, How can it be achieved. -

System Preferences -> Sound -> there is only the "digital output _ optical digital output port" option, how to restart no sound, connect to headphones with sound, unplug headphones mac still no sound.Your Macbook Pro will not support sound vis HDMI. You will have to tap the audio output port and connect to the TV audio inputs for sound. You will need a 3.5 mm plug in a 'Y' connector configuration with RCA connectors on the other end.

You could try updating your apple TV and then restarting it. Bit of a guess.

Connecting my macbook pro with retina display after upgrading my OS to Mountain Lion
I have been using my macbook pro with retina display for more than a month and I can connect it to my HD Television, Fine. But since I upgraded my OS to mountain Lion, I can no longer connect it to my television. Did apple missed something with mountain lion? I know there is nothing wrong with my connection, so something is wrong with the new mountain lion OS. Can people from APPLE help me?
No one from Apple here - this is a user-to-user forum. I don't have a Retina but if you could let us know how you were connecting (HDMI>HDMI, for example) perhaps someone will be able to help you out.

My macbook pro no longer connects to my TV with the mini dvi to hdmi adapter. A while ago the computer fell down and hit the cable. How can I tell if the computer is working ok. Doesn't show mirroring any more. Was working while watching a movie but when I pulled it out from the computer and put it back in the system would no longer mirrorr the screen on the TV.
