Black dot on camera, iPhone 5

After dropping my phone there is a small black dot right in the middle of te camera. I've already had my dad kindly pay £180 to swap it after I smashed it and I wouldn't ever ask again. It's an iPhone 5 by the way.

Well, sounds like you have another hardware failure...not covered by warranty. However, make an appointment at an Apple store, show the genius the dot & then shut up...don't say another word.
Good luck.

They should have one in Stock, but you never know. Call your Apple Store and tell them you have an iPhone 5 color and GB, and that you most likely will need a replacement, do they have any in Stock. If yes, go in, if not ask for advice on how to handle your problem.

  • Black dot on camera

    Hello friends.
Last saturday (05/07/2011) I was taking a picture with my iPhone 3GS and I saw a "black dot" on my câmera, at first I thought it was dead pixels, but I realized that when I zoomed the photo that dot disappears, as well as when I get a picture of a very bright spot, like a lamp or the sunlight. So, now I think the glass that protects the camera lens is scratched, since a great amount of light pass thru the glass and the black dot disappears. Could you guys analyze the follow pictures? Perhaps if I polish the glass it will work, what you think?

  • Black dots on camera?

There are small black dots all over all of my pictures on my iphone 4. They're very noticeable and I have no idea what it is. I've tried to clean my camera multiple times. The dots showed up two weeks ago, and have gotten much worse.

Restore your device via iTunes. If that doesn't help, take it to your nearest Apple Store. https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

  • Black Dots in camera.. Day by day increasing..

I can able to find some black dots while using the camera.. I'm sure that there is no dust on camera lens and dead pixels in display.. Did anyone faced same issue..please help-VIshnu

thanx for the pic. it helps to confirm that it's not on or in the lens. if u look at it closely, these are not dots. they are actualy tear or punctured holes. most likely the sensor, or a layer that's covering the sensor.sad to say, but i think you need to return your phone to the service centre. no amount of software fix can fix this.

  • Black dot shadow on iPhone 5 camera, should replace?

    Hello everyone.
Suddenly I have this problem... When I wanted to take a photo today I realized there is a black shadow with the shape of a circle at the bottom of my camera. I tried to clean the lens with a cloth and nothing.
I did a bit of research and some with the same issue, got a new iPhone to replace the one they had. All that on an apple store I suppose.
    So, is that right?
I mean it can be replaced for free?
I bought this phone on July 2013, I have the recipe on my mail account.
And also can I put money over it to get a 5s?
    How much?
I hope someone could answer my question.
    Thanks a lot!

Your phone is still covered by the one year warranty, contact Apple to get it serviced or visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place to get it looked at.
iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support
Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
Apple will exchange the phone for the same model you have, they don't trade in the phone for a newer model.

  • IPhone 5  has black dot on photos

Just recently my 2 year old iPhone 5 is showing a black dot/mark when I look through the view finder and is appearing on the photos too, also on videos but for perhaps obvious reasons not on the reverse camera! The external lens appears to be clean.
Can anyone help with this, please? I have switched the phone off and on - I have also rebooted it (just in case!).

See Here for  >  Frozen or unresponsive iPhone
Try this First... No Data will be Lost..
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

  • My FaceTime isn't working properly. Every call I make a black dot appears on the camera in the middle (fixed onto the screen, and is not dirt), and the calls always fail. It would ring 6 times and then say call failed. How can I fix this?

If FaceTime ever worked properly for you, restarting your modem (and separate router/wireless if you have such) may help.  If the problem continues, try connecting at a different location to see if the problem is within your wi-fi.
The black dot problem may mean you need to reset your iPod.  If that does not help, it may need service by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
If you need help with any of these suggestions, detailed help on each topic is available via Apple's Support pages:

How could it have been a brand new phone if there were already pictures on it?
I'd ask for your money back.

  • Black dot on iphone 6 plus screen

Is there anyone here noticed a black dot on their screen? Its inside the screen and not on the screen protector. Is this factory defect? Ive'd read some question in the USA and apple replace it with new unit, is the same here in AU?
    Thanks for answering. Cheers

    Hi tuoleado!
They look quite similar Actually. Only difference is mine is right in the middle and looks more like a machine mark. Your mark looks more like the screen is letting dirt under the screen and are large blobs, which is probably worse! But my mark is more a large C shape in the middle of the screen.
And well done taking a picture, I couldn't quite get the right angle, I'll have to try again when it's sunny outside!
Call Apple Support and get the iPhone replaced as soon as possible, when you spend the money we have for a product this premium this just isn't good enough. Problem is I was told on the phone I would receive a phone in a very short time, while a confirmation email about an hour after says 3 to 4 weeks. I'm worried ill be without a phone for a little while (which in my business is bad!) so if you still have your old phone, keep hold of it for a while just in case.
Let me know what happens! And thanks for posting. Best of luck!

  • What is the black dot above the front microphone on iPhone 6?

What is the black dot above the front microphone on iPhone 6?

Proximity Sensor.  It's what turns the screen off when you're talking on the phone.

  • How can I get the black dot wallpaper from my ipad to my iphone. Please help me out

Why don't you simply do a screen shot of your iPad and then transfer the photo to your iPhone.

  • Hardware issue : Home Button "Black Dot"

Hi I'm from Cyprus. I have my iphone and i love it but there is this issue on my home button. There is some kind of black dot on it. Right inside the square line. What should i do?

I'm having some issues with my iPhone 4's home button and wondering if others are experiencing this...
Sometimes I'll click and get no response. Sometimes a single click will bring up the multitasking. Sometimes a double click will take me to the spotlight screen. It doesn't seem to matter how hard or where I click. At this point it's a mild nuisance, but if it gets worse, I'll make the 2hr journey to the Grand Rapids Apple Store to see about a replacement. Has anyone else experienced this and had any luck with a no-hassels replacement from Apple? I've thought about restoring the phone, but I'm pretty sure this is strictly hardware related and it wouldn't do any good.
    Thanks!
    G
    I had the same problem.
Apple will replace the phone. I had the same problem (Home button didn't work) with my fresh just out of the box iPhone 4. I took it back to Apple (not ATT), and he took one look at it and replaced it, no questions asked. Took all of 5 minutes. I think there was a bad batch of 'home' buttons.
If you don't replace it, it will only get worse with time. Have no problems with the replacement. They will give you a fresh one, you keep the original box, and will place a new s/n sticker on the box. Was it refurbished or a new one? I don't know. It was back in mid july, so not likely to be a refurbished. I didn't care, it was brand new looking.
P.S. With my bad Home button, I could tell it was slightly recessed from the screen front. The new one was not. Whether you have that or not, take it back. The Home button should work every time. It's hardware, not software.
