This might be a little early, but has there been any word on sales for the Ipod Classic 120gb or 160gb?

Apple does not allow iPods to be "on sale". The most I have seen them discounted was $5 at Target and $3 at Sams.

It’s amazing to think that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are almost upon us. Best Buy has a great selection of items this year in our Black Friday ad, and the iPhone 6 offer is just one of them!
I apologize for any confusion around this offer. The iPhone 6 should be $99.99 with 2 year activation and the $100 trade-in gift card. The iPhone 5s should be $1 with 2 year activation and the $100 trade-in gift card. I do not know of any plans to have the 64GB version of the iPhone 6 on sale, but I would recommend periodically checking BestBuy.com as we will have many holiday ads between now and Christmas!

Hi all!
I've been using a 60GB iPod Photo for 2 years now. It has handled my music, audiobooks, and podcast libraries just fine. Now that I've been buying TV shows for past couple of months, my entire iTunes library is about 160GB. So if I load everything execpt the already read audiobooks and watched TV shows, the new 160GB iPod will have about 120GB to 140GB of content when I initially load it up.
I was hoping for a 160GB iPod Touch but that's OK. I'll stick with the iPod classic for now. I'll post my experience with the new iPod when it arrives.

My new black 160GB iPod classic has arrived! Right now it is syncing. So, at the moment I can only make cosmetic comments. This iPod classic is much thinner than my iPod Photo. I like the back color of this new one much better than the white of the iPod photo. I never liked the while color of the older models but I didn't buy the iPod Photo for looks anyway.
Why does the LCD stay on the whole time the iPod is syncing? The LED have a limited lifetime. The backlight should not be on when it is not needed. The backlight will be on enough because of video watching.
I don't like the sharp edges around the front faceplate. I didn't like this about the iPod Video. This was one of the minor reasons I didn't get an iPod Video. However, the faceplate is not as flat as the iPod video so that is a plus in my book. I also like the aluminum feel over the plastic of my iPod Photo.
Oh yeah, I was really surprised that the iPod Classic came fully charged. I had to initially charge my iPod Photo since it come with a moderately low charge.
Should I start an argument about the LCD being glossy instead of having a matte finish (a la: iMac 20"/24")? Nope! Just kidding on this one.

PLEASE help: video on new iPod Classic 160gb

Hi all,
I would be really grateful if someone could help me. I was lucky enough to receive a shiny black 160gb iPod Classic for Xmas to replace my old 3rd Gen one.
However I'm having a bit of trouble with videos. I have downloaded some video podcasts via iTunes store that have synced to my pod and play fine. However I have just downloaded some TV shows from the internet - they play in iTunes and are listed in my iPod under"My Devices" but I just can't find them on the pod.
Any ideas????

I downloaded them from a torrent site but they did say they were specifically formatted for iPod use - the file format is MPEG4.
However, I've also tried downloading a video podcast from directly from iTunes (again in MPEG4 format) that hasn't synced to my pod either.
It seems the only video I've managed to sync is a podcast I downloaded about a year ago and two music videos I had from importing CD's.
Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

IPod Classic: Photos Issue: Photos on iPod Show Black Screen - Replicated!

Issue / My Solution related to format = PC / Windows
*FINALLY! I've replicated the issue where some random pictures in iPod photos show as a thumbnail, DON'T show when clicked with center button (instead a nice friendly black screen is shown) but DO show when you click the center button again to start Slide Show.*
Firstly, I'll start by saying that this was one of 4-5 issues that caused me to go to my local Apple store today & get my SECOND replacement (3rd iPod Classic; Black; 160 GB). It made me laugh when the technicians told me the truth; since Apple never preps even their own people for new products to possibly get trained on so that maybe they're more technically knowledgeable then their consumers when they go on sale, this store's approach has typically been 'Problem with a 6th Generation? Here's a new one'.
It's been a quick & easy way to satisfy customers while getting them no where, but they go home thinking their new unit will work, when in reality it was never a hardware issue.
Anyways, I exchanged 2 x 160 GB & 1 x 80 GB tonight for many of the same reasons, truthfully because I felt I'm due new units after the amount of times I've reimaged (restored) each by restoring all versions of the firmware software.
Many of you have experienced the photo issue I mentioned above before going off on my tangent, many of you may not have (yet).
Well, I'm 1,000% that I replicated this one:
*When restoring one of the iPods replaced, I conveniently noticed that the pictures which showed up blank on my iPod had illegal characters in their Windows Filenames.*
*These characters can include, but are not limited to:*
*apostrophe ('); comma (,); period (.)*
*Again, the characters above are the only ones I've identified so far; granted that it should not ultimately be like this; the iPod should accept filenames containing these characters & if it can't or it's too hard for it to accept them, iTunes should display a warning to the end user to change the filenames with illegal characters.*
In conclusion, I'm about to unwrap my new 160 GB & sync it. I will avoid & hold off with the 1.0.2 update for as long as possible in hopes that a 1.0.3 comes out soon; especially since the only noticeable difference it made for me was a faster & more responsive & sturdy Cover Flow (don't even use anyways) + shuts off in my JBL Dock at work (replicated as a bug in 1.0.2; workaround: use PLAY, PAUSE & other controls on the unit itself, not with the dock or remote control on the dock.)
I learned my lesson the hard way & will definitely wait a few days until 1.0.3 is released to see how it really is by feedback posted here in this forum. For all you newbies, this is the best advice I can offer; don't bank on 1 or 2 posts, read a bunch. When you start seeing a pattern of problems, you know something can't be right. It's funny how you look at the post history of these updates (1.0.1 & 1.0.2 & you see all those who jumped to install post only the nicest things & the great enhancements they see, until a day later they're hit with the negatives of that build.

IPod Classic Screen still black after restoring it

After dropping my iPod classic, the screen went black and I could no longer get it to work. I was able to restore it however the screen is still black. I can hear it clicking when I spin the will and it connects to iTunes but the screen is still black. Is there any way to fix this?

Put it in the rice for couple of more days. Then
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The Videos are showed up front 4 months, but now they are no longer to be seen. When you star a video first the hard drive starts, but then it stops and hangs up. I have to restart it, starting with the apple logo....

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Just recently it started randomly beeping and ejecting discs which apparently (according to Google search results) was fairly common during a bad batch of PS4s. I looked on BestBuy.com but the bundle is no longer for sale. I would like to exchange the bundle for another since the console is defective, but how will this be handled since the bundle is no longer available?

Black Pixelation On My Screen (iPod classic)

Hello, I have an iPod classic and on the screen when i have the iPod on there are a few lines of black "stuff" for lack of a better word, it appears to be pixelation, for it only shows up when my iPod is on.
I am puzzled as to what this is, if anyone can help me get rid of it or fix it, help would be greatly appreciated!

I have found out that it has something to do with the backlight..
When the backlight is on the lines appear, they even seem to get longer and spread
They are skinny and i don't know if it is something to do with the power of the backlight
They only show up when the backlight is on
